Weekends are a little busy, but thankfully they have the Marshall Mark Upton who keeps everything running smoothly. Without him the weekend would be a hot mess. My father has been a regular player at Fairmount Golf Course for years, but the way he was treated today (and on other occasions) is unacceptable. At around 4:00 PM today, he politely asked the only woman working at the time (a Hispanic woman in jeans) for the bathroom code. Instead of simply helping, she was rude, dismissive, and acted in a prejudicial manner. This is not the first time she has harassed or bothered him -- it's part of a pattern of unprofessional behavior. Golf courses should be welcoming and respectful, especially toward loyal, paying players. Unfortunately, Fairmount has allowed this type of conduct to continue without accountability. My father deserves basic courtesy, and until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend this course to anyone who values respectful customer service. read more

Great course to practice your long game. I love this course because the wide open fairways really allows you to dial in your woods and long irons. The maintenance is decent. It is usually well kept, however there have been times where you can lose your ball in the fairway. For 9-holes, it can be pricey if you rent a golf cart, however I think it's great value if bring your own push cart (or go old school and carry your bag). The golf range features golf mats as well as grassy tee boxes. Overall, great value and gives access for new golfers to practice. read more

I have been coming here with my son for months now using the range and playing and our experience has been great. I've played In some of the most beautiful golf courses in the US so I wouldn't compare it to those locations but for a public course, it's great! The staff are also awesome! I've read other people's old comments about the staff and maybe that was back then because all of the staffs I've encountered are awesome; they have been friendly, accommodating and just nice people. I would recommend this location to any golfer specially if you're a new player and remember folks, we're just hitting balls around a park so just enjoy the game and don't be to hard on yourself. read more

I call and you say there's people in vests to guide you in I didn't see a single one. I just don't get why we can't be allowed one road in from market whenever there's an event? My dad and I recently got into golfing a few months back. Pops took me here for my first 9 hole and we've been coming almost every other weekend since. We are by no means pros at the game, still struggling but we have a great time playing and bonding. The course itself is awesome especially for the price! However, I'm giving three stars due to an incident with an employee. We were finishing up on the last hole, there were 4 of us and we played a 2v2 scramble to make things move quicker. There was a gentleman standing off to the side with his arms crossed watching us finish. My dad had waved at him and said, "Hello." Got no answer. He even walked over a little and asked if everything was ok, he told my dad "yeah everything is good." but continued to stand watch over us. We finished and brought the carts back when he finally approached us. "you guys are taking way too long." was the first thing he said to us. Mind you, we never knew there was a time limit to playing, especially with us being weekend golfers. We apologized and let him know we didn't know there was a limit and that we are still getting used to the game. "It should only take you 1.5 hours. You guys took 2.5 almost 3 hours to finish." (it usually takes us 2.5-3hrs to finish while letting people who are faster than us playthrough who are obviously faster than us) We apologized again, but still kept going on saying "You guys shouldn't be playing if it takes you that long." Mind you, he also did not say anything to anyone else that was behind us or ahead of us. So after, we went to the clubhouse to find out who the man was and were told that he was the "Marshall." Regardless of your title, the way he approached our group and harassed us for taking "too long" during our game is unacceptable. I would give more stars, but this left a sour taste in my mouth. Not sure if we'll be back, which is a huge disappointment. We love this course. But with that kind of harassment, not sure what may happen in the future. read more

Good value for what you pay, and I especially like that you get to use every club in your bag. It's got a decent number of par 4 and par 5 holes, unlike most executive courses that are mostly par 3 with a par 4 or par 5 occasionally sprinkled in. It also takes about 1.5-2 hours out of your day to get a decent golfing experience here. Some of the grass could be better maintained with some tee box rotation or such, and it is very easy to lose a ball or two in the many trees. Love how the driving range has both grass and mats to hit off of. read more

The staff is totally rude! They water the course while you're playing and when you call to ask if they can turn them off they wait til you get wet and hit the ball and then they turn them off. After the worker saw that I was wet, he looked at me and said, "it's only water. It will dry off soon." These people don't care about no one they just want your cash. Total waist of time and money! I came here one evening for the first time and they were closing early for undisclosed reasons, which I understood things happen. I came here again today at 5:45pm, significantly earlier than their advertised 8pm closing time, and come to find their facility locked and closed. Iv only used the driving range here. I'm not really into golfing but an hour or so of whacking balls is always a great way to get some fresh air and take your mind of things for a bit. The staff are friendly, bathroom is clean, doesn't seem to get crowded and there's lots of pretty tress around. A nice place to spend some time outside and it's right by the park so you get to see cute ducks and geese. read more

This might have been the worst golf course I have ever played on. Riverside golf course was close to this and it is now out of business. I posted a picture of the brown greens with slight growing grass that made it extremely bumpy. Some struggling courses have bad rough and fairways but a decent green. Not here. They said it is under new management so we wanted to see what improvements were made and we found that they just put some chairs in the mobile home clubhouse. For the same price you could go somewhere else with much nicer conditions. I came down from VA to play with my dad and we were both sad we went here by the time we were done. Overall I had a pretty good experience at the course. I only came to hit a bucket of balls at the driving range but was met with quick and friendly service. It was only eight dollars for a large bucket of balls and she even gave me a few extra as she was cleaning up the area. It is not a high-end golf course by any means; you can tell a lot of people there are beginning golfers or weekend golfers or just some people who like golf but don't play a lot of golf. They had two small putting greens just off to the side of the driving range that were well-maintained and nice to put around on. If I get a chance I might be back to play this course didn't seem like it would be that expensive and you still get a golf cart so not a bad deal read more

I decided to go hit 9 despite having never visited this course before. I rolled up and the guy at the front desk was pretty cool and helpful. Told me the conditions were not the best, but I agreed anyways, not knowing just how bad "not the best" really meant. I got to the first hole and the course was watering. Mind you, there were 3-4 sprinklers going off that put the 1st tee in the category of a SeaWorld splash zone. Thinking I'm successfully avoiding the obstacle course of water, I go up to the first tee. As I'm walking up, I get blasted by water.... and I mean completely soaked. I don't even know why, or what, they were even watering! I didn't see anything remotely green the entire time; the whole course was dead. After that 1st tee, I got completely lost. The hole numbered signs are essentially all over the place. No clue what hole I'm on, I decided just to have fun despite the terrible conditions, when my golf cart up and dies on me. It was deader than the grass, and it wouldn't start back up easy either. It took 10 minutes to restart, and continued to die after stopping for each hole. The "no greens" really made it less exciting. The holes were off to the side, which I did know before hand, but WOW the holes were truly awful. All together, the course was in terrible terrible shape. The rest of the staff wasn't too kind either. Some rather rude remarks were said to me when trying to return the golf cart...the golf cart that didn't even work! Not the best experience at all. read more

This is the local golf spot! I've played here off and on for ten years and it has had it's up and downs. This place is now on the up! The greens are true and the grass is choice. Tee it up and enjoy a great time with your home dogs for the price of two pints at the local craft brewery. My Dad and I had a great time hacking it up and talking shit with each other. Small greens so approach shots have to be on target and if you do hit the green you have short birdie chances. The staff is very friendly. They know golf. And they are very helpful. They have really done a great job on this course. I was here a few years back and it was run down pretty bad. Now it's a whole new course with everything they've done to improve it. They have a couple of nice par 5's and a mix of par 4's & 3's. All in all it's a nice way to spend a couple of hours. Two of us played 9 holes with a cart for $41.00. You can't beat that. read more
