Went here after going through some serious renovations at my place and the last thing I needed were a bunch of outlets and light switches. They had everything I needed and I was happy with the price. The store is clean and they seemingly have every style of lights imaginable. The staff are very knowledgeable and you could tell they've been in the business for a long time. Found this store through Yelp. Awesome clean store with the most helpful associates there. Associates were very helpful and patient. They gave us so many suggestions, options and alternates to all the items we wanted. Top tier quality service without be pushy or rude. I was looking for a flush mount fixture to replace the icky one that came with the house. Mid-Valley didn't have a ton to choose from but all I needed was one perfect one which I found. Prices were reasonable already and this one was on sale. Turns out it had been discontinued but they were happy to sell me the floor (or should I say "ceiling") sample with an additional discount. I had to come back on Monday when the guy who could disconnect it was working. I was happy to! The nice woman who helped me dusted it off for me, wrapped it and the shade up for me and even helped me to the car to make sure it made it safely. MID VALLEY LIGHTING is such a great place to shop for lighting hardware. They have selections for indoor and outdoor lighting, sconces, lamps, chandeliers, etc. Selections for lampshades are limited though. I was able to very easily find a parking spot on the street right outside the shop. read more

Ok... only been in there once. We didn't buy anything but there were a LOT of options. We were looking for mini-pendants to put in a kitchen remodel. I was a little disappointed that at least half of the pendants they had in the store were "last one" so the selection wasn't quite as awesome as I first thought upon entering the place. But the main thing was just how helpful the two women were that were running the place. We went in about an hour before they were to close and these two brought out catalogue after catalogue to show me and my wife tons of option. Good attitude goes a long way. read more

Friendly, efficient, professional, and moderately priced. Our high end halogen floor lamp stopped working. It wasn't the bulb. This is such a great store. It is my go-to place when I need a lamp repaired, or when I need a kind and size of light bulb that cannot be found at a regular market or at a drugstore. I once again had one of my several unusual lamps repaired, and I went to pick it up today. I was again greeted with courtesy. The price was reasonable. I feel very lucky to have this go to place to count on. Solid selection of lighting, and what's super cool is that everything is set up on Lutron Caseta wireless switches throughout the store...so they can demonstrate dimming, etc...right there from their iPad...so you know what you're getting. Mid Valley Lighting, Inc. I think this is a very rude establishment; the customer service reps were rude and awful; additionally the older volunteer technician was the worst. Not only did he not repair my appliance correctly but he was too lazy to get the right part for my lamp and repair it per manufacturer specifications such as any other service technician in the professional lighting repair industry would have done, as the lamp requires. I think this is one of the worst owned businesses in the Sherman Oaks-Van Nuys areas and they are taking up space in which a worthy lighting vendor can use. If you work at an establishment you should treat your client base kindly and efficiently. If you don't like your job and the people at Mid-Valley lighting surely don't; I suggest you try another industry or career that will provide you with some kind of content or even happiness. I was very dissatisfied with their customer service, repair, attitude, and tasteless demeanor towards their customers. I had to pick up an item which was repaired in the wrong fashion and was forced to accept it as is; but smartly enough I did not do that. No! If you have a 3-way lamp that works in a 3 way modus operandi why would you switch it out for a 2 way protocol / modus operandi and expect me to receive it as is and anticipate me to be satisfied with your work effort as well as being empathetic towards your age and volunteerism; yet, you are still complaining to me about the time and effort you exerted on the lamp itself; when you didn't even take the time to notice its actual and true functioning capacity, design, or even its protocol / modus operandi. You say that your goal is to please the customer (per the technician) but in essence your rudeness, your inefficient working habits, in addition to your lack of interest in thoroughly completing the job assignment itself due to your unfinished work ethics of the actual job task tells me everything I want to know about Mid Valley Lighting, Inc., and that is to never support your business again; additionally tell those I know to not support your business as well because you will not be pleased at all. Mid Valley Lighting, Inc. truly demonstrated to me that their business is not only a safe place to trust in dealing with fairness in completion of repairs, but your lack of unethical behavior is worsened by the way in which you treat your customers. I am there to do business and not feel sorry for your age or how hard you claim to have worked; indeed you didn't work hard at all but you misjudged someones character in return and decided to treat them in a very inappropriate manner. I personally think your business license should be taken from you and allow a vendor that specializes in professionalism take your place in servicing the Valley Community at large. Thoroughly impressed! I found this place after searching multiple hardware and lighting stores with zero luck. I was looking to replace an old torchiere lamp as well as replace some oddball bulbs from another ceiling fixture. Nobody could help me. They recently moved the Mid valley. And now its a new mid valley lightning, Improved and has more lights to choose. You hav so many choices and options.
