I just left here and the only words I could say were "what just happened?" We brought in a light fixture I was sure would cost double the price of the fixture itself to fix. He fixed it in 10 minutes and just charged us $10 for the mounting pieces it was missing. I'm truly blown away. He is a total professional at what he does. The store also has some gorgeous lighting and we'll definitely be back to purchase! Thank you so much!!!

Found this amazing vintage lamp there too!

Great store. Great service. Thank you! They had the replacement parts I needed and they fixed my lamp on the spot!

We didn't like the lighting in our new trailer, so got a very cute little vintage number with dimmer. It really makes the place feel cozy.

This has been our "go-to" lighting store for years - and he never disappoints. There's a great mix of vintage items inside - last time there was the coolest phone shaped like a piano! The prices are reasonable for the quality of the items and what's great is Ian can rework a piece for you as well. I love lamps with dimmers and he was able to switch out the one we bought - works great. Love, love this place! He's got parking in the back, but you can usually find street parking depending on the hour.

I needed a lamp socket replaced, called Practical and they said come over. I drove over and 10 minutes later my lamp was repaired.

Great repair on a vintage chandelier. The chandelier was stolen during my move or I would send you a picture. I would definitely go back.

We also found some vintage (distressed) gooseneck barn style lamps that we plan on using over the garage door.

This antique store in Downtown Los Angeles is focused on architectural details, like metal grills…read moreand iron work and lights of every known fixture. And a lot of antiquities focused on large scale decoration. One one hand, there are some beautiful pieces. The light fixtures are pretty impressive in their variety of age and style. It seriously gave me the "Damn, I wish I had a big house to decorate." Ultimately, though, that's why this place doesn't quite work for me. There are tons of things to look at, antique barber chairs, long dining tables, stamp dispensers from the 50's and Neo-Classical statuary. Fun eye candy. But the price point for almost everything is for the wealthy homeowner or the professional interior decorator. Even at the Mart Collective in Venice, which is a high end antique mall, had some things that were very reasonable (I bought some beautiful brocade pillows there). Here? Not so much. So, fun to rifle through if you're into antiques, but unless you have some fairly serious cash, not a lot of actual shopping opportunity.

I found a cool vintage ships binnacle that was converted into a lamp that I plan on polishing up and returning to a compass.. prices overall are fair some items can be pretty pricey, but they are in very good condition overall.. I definitely look forward to coming back to this Place soon. If you find an item that you love, but don't have room in your vehicle they do deliver with added cost.

Memento Mori is a slice of oddities and curiosities of all kinds for sure... From smoky quartz, amethyst and incenses to your accessories, skeleton keys and figurines to books, nooks and break in case of emergency vampire emergencies. They have some fun vintage movie posters, including in magnet form in the mix I'll definitely be back for! This Hollywood hidden gem sits pretty much by itself across from the Amazon Prime Experience theater off Wilcox Avenue/Sunset Blvd between Sunset and Selma Avenue. Street parking (meter), local parking garages and lots or the metro (a short stroll from Hollywood/Vine) are your foeful friend. Great customer service and so many attentions to detail displayed throughout their entire store. One thing I truly enjoyed/enjoy about Memento M. is their support of others, including several look clubs, organizations and events like the iconic She's in Parties goth night event every 4th Friday of the month. Open from Noon (12pm) to 6 daily, Thursday through Tuesday, with the exception of Wednesdays when they rest (are closed).

I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement. So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store. There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet. Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans. So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.

First time visiting and wow... this place is way bigger than we expected…read more It's basically two huge side-by-side hangars full of stuff, plus even more items outside in the alley between them. You really need time for this place. We definitely came without enough time or the right "shopping mood" and already said we'll probably come back another day with more patience and more exact ideas. Some items felt overpriced for the condition, at least to me, but maybe the prices aren't final. I'm just not the type of person who negotiates Even if you don't buy anything, it's still fun to walk around and look at everything. If you're an interior designer or just into vintage furniture/decor, this place is probably heaven. One small disappointment for me personally -- I didn't see any vintage stoves. That's weirdly my dream item Although honestly for real cooking I still think induction wins.

Judy will often spend more time and gas going to inspect and pick up items that's your gain her loss. 2. Judy does research items and knows exactly what she has on a massive 2 building property...she's in her 80s. 3. This isn't a garage sale many of these are legit antiques, and some items does slip her detection system and are extremely low priced! Which is what kicked off the discussion as I was browsing for art supplies. I peeped the antique watches is in excellent condition just needing adjustment $35 and gold-filled is a steal!!! I would have snagged it if it wasn't in excellent condition as I respect workable items and repurpose the broken ones! Which is the thing that opened up the discussion where I found out all Judy does and that she's an artist on top! I want to be like Judy when I grow up! You will find antique furniture, if you know antiques and antique furniture you will understand the prices!!! There's spinning wheels! There's even plants!!! A whole lot of goodies spanning two massive buildings! Take your time there's a lot to go through!
