I took my SUV to Midas Bensalem for an engine replacement covered under my warranty. The shop installed a remanufactured ATK engine Despite multiple requests, they refused to provide any warranty documentation for the installation--even though I'm the registered owner and paid the deductible. Through independent research, I confirmed that the engine comes with a 3-year, unlimited mileage warranty through ATK Yet Midas denied knowledge of this warranty and flatly refused to provide documentation confirming it information I am legally entitled to under both Pennsylvania and federal law. The repair took over 5 weeks (June 2-July 12), an excessive and unexplained delay. Then, on July 20, I discovered major oversights: the ECU connectors were not locked into place, and the negative battery terminal was left loose. These aren't minor issues. The ECU (engine control unit) connectors have built-in locking mechanisms to ensure secure, uninterrupted communication between the engine and the vehicle's electrical system. If they come loose, it can cause misfires, no-start conditions, stalling, or even permanent damage. Likewise, a loose battery terminal can cause intermittent electrical failure, data loss, or leave you stranded. Both are basic but critical checks that should never be missed in any engine installation. Given the lack of transparency, the excessive delay, and the refusal to provide legally required warranty documentation, I intend to pursue this matter in small claims court in the coming weeks!! I'm also considering going to local media. This experience reflects a troubling lack of accountability and professionalism. Just got quoted $324 at Midas for a simple transmission fluid change--no filter, nothing fancy. That's insane. I've had this same service done at AAMCO for $215 not too long ago. It's hard not to feel like Midas is taking advantage of people who don't know the going rate. I'm only back there because my transmission started acting up right after they replaced my engine. There is no option for negative or even "zero" otherwise I would have given that. I got coupon from Groupon for wheel alignment. I called and took appointment for it. 1 hour needed with appointment was the answer when I called in to confirm my appointment. I took appointment online but never received confirmation so I called on to confirm. I went there before my time and guy said that it will take at least 2 hours, instead of 1 hour with appointment. From 2.30 to 3.30 was my time. I left around 2.30 from there and came back around 3.45 or so. My car was not moved from where I left. Around 4.30 they took my car in and put it on a lift. I thought they were doing what they supposed to do instead they did check my suspension, tie rod, tires and other regular vehicle inspection and text me report. Around 5.35 they me that they cannot do it as they are closing in 25 minutes. I was so mad as I was seating there since almost 3.45 and at 5.30 he said that he cannot do it today. I spoke with manager and he did nothing. He could have at least told me at 2.30 and even 3.30 that they are not going to do it today then I wouldn't have wasted my time. Later on I understand that why they did this. I have a group on coupon and they don't like it so they played a game. Worst service ever. Please don't go there at all. This place should be closed down for bad service. I am going send this complain to their head quarter also. 3 hors of time was wasted. read more

I went for an oil change and inspection last fall. Today I went to get an oil change by Valvoline only to find out MIDAS never removed my filter from an oil change 2 years ago by Valvoline. It was the same filter Valvoline changed 2 years ago. my new truck had been loud only to find out that Midas failed to perform the oil change last year and charged me for a synthetic oil change. How can someone be so callous, calculated and without conscience? My check engine light came on thank God which caused me concern in a new car with 30k miles. I still had the Midas sticker where they last placed it and now the filter to prove they never changed the oil.!! I will never go there again. Ever since Fennel left it's been down hill. Do not trust this store. I went in for an exhaust evaluation and the job was done without even a call that they found coolant in the exhaust. After I took out a loan to pay for it (1400$) was when they informed me about a possible bad head gasket. (thousands of dollars of repair needed) I called customer service and got no resolution. Now my car is just sitting and worth less than 200$ because I no longer have the original catalytic converter. read more

My husband took his truck here a month ago, check engine light was on.. they said they fixed the issue, 7000$ later and he took it home to have the light come on again. Took it to the dealer who said the sensor they replaced isn't responding at all and he had to take it back to Midas. They kept giving us the run around saying it's this and then saying it's something else or they are waiting for a part to come in. They said they would call with updates and they never called, 99% of the time we had to call them or show up . My husbands 2019 truck with 60k miles was there for a MONTH. We are out almost 10k total because of missed work and rentals. I am beyond disappointed in this company. I would not recommend them for anything to be honest. Every dealer and shop we have talked to says it should not have taken this long and clearly they have no idea what they are doing. I am seeking compensation for everything because this is highly unprofessional. Midas you did not keep in touch with us while you had the truck. You did not fix the truck. .....You had it for a month and you did not fix it..... I am highly upset with Midas. Just to recap.. Truck went in with check engine light. Midas said it needed a new engine. After a 2700$ engine diagnostic The engine was fine and it was just the head gasket. Head gasket was replaced and some sensor. We had to get it "reflashed" at a dealer who said the sensor isn't responding. Took it back to Midas where it sat waiting for a part to come in.. no idea what that even was.. We pick up our truck tonight, apparently with some kind of electrical issue that it didn't have when we dropped it off. Midas has no idea what is wrong with the truck.. we have to take it to a dealer now. Do yourself a favor and do not take your car here. They are unprofessional and clearly not educated enough to take on projects that they claim they can do. I'd like to be contacted by corporate too. You can not let them do this to someone else. I went for an oil change. This is one of the only Midas I go to. I live about 30 minutes away and I still rather take the drive to this Midas than go to any close to me. I feel like most people just don't like to hear that something is wrong with their car but if you want a honest answer, then this is your place. And the prices are very reasonable. read more

Called and asked if I could bring my car in for inspection they told me come in an hour and I could wait for it to be done because it wouldn't t take long. There was nothing wrong with my car BUT they found something including a nail in the tire and didn't pass the car for inspection. While sitting in the waiting area I listened to them bs one customer after another including charging a woman over $400.00 for brakes. Explaining that includes everything needed. What kind of explanation is that ? They are a rip off and I'll never go there again. Took the car to another shop and it passed inspection without a problem. And the shop only charged $65.00 for inspection Midas over $100.00 ! read more

I went to this location for a 4 wheel alignment and was scammed. I walked about 1-2 city blocks down the street just for cardio. When I left my car was where I parked it and when I returned about 3 minutes later my car was parked next to the door and the manager said to me that mine was the fastest alignment ever which was untruthful because there is no way that from the time I left to the time I returned which was about 3 minutes that they could have pulled my car in the shop put it up on the lift and performed service on it and then pull it back outside and also they had no record in the computer of my car and the measurements from my car. The manager Fenel Louis is a fraud and very arrogant as he is the one who tried to pull this off on me. Avoid this store at if you are looking for honest and prop work to be done on your vehicle I see note that Midas corporate is bogus also. They asked for my contact info and had a lady call me and get info from my visit and she stated that sometime from management would be in touch with me within the next few days. It's been almost two weeks and I'm still waiting on that call. Very sad that with the state of the economy and people struggling to get through from day to day that Midas would allow fraudulent activities within their company. Had a great experience at the Bensalem Midas. My son was having surgery at the hospital nearby and we were planning on driving back home (3+ hours away) on 95 after the procedure. I had a low tire pressure warning on my car that am and was worried about breaking down on a hot day with him on crutches and just out of surgery. The guys told me to come right over and squeezed me in. They checked everything, got all my tires to the right pressure and would not charge me a dime. They were terrific. Went here for a minor brake line replacement. It took 3 hours and they claimed they were working on it the entire time. I was in the waiting room, my car was in the first bay right next to a picture window. I was watching the entire time. 1 mechanic was spending his time on 3 different cars during that 3 hours. On top of that they removed a bunch of parts they didn't have to, in order to make the job bigger than is actually was. (time and materials $$$) I spent the next day finding and installing bolts and screws they failed to replace. The manger treats everyone like they are idiots. The only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 is because it didn't leak when they were done. read more

i came in for an oil change that takes 5-10 minutes max. i have been waiting for 52 minutes and my car hasn't moved. there is an open bay that can easily be used for my car and its not. I was told my the worker that my car will be done within the hour. I shouldn't have to wait 50+ minutes for a simple 5-10 minute task. read more

I had my oil changed. The manager "Fenel" who also goes by his last name at times, said that I needed new tires that had to be special ordered. I informed them I would get them done the next day by my normal shop. The next time I drove the car, the entire huge plastic protective plate that they took down to change the oil was dragging on the ground. I called and asked if they could send someone to fix it, as I could not back out of the spot I was in and they said they couldn't. The manager called me "retarded" on the phone and said the shop I had my tires done at probably did it. This was clear retaliation for me not getting my tires there. I came in last Saturday and the place was completely mobbed. It made total sense because everyone was off on Saturday meaning they were getting their car fixed too. The manager Louis was super nice and told me to come in on Monday and he would get me in right away. I arrived here at 4:30 PM and my oil change was done by 4:50 PM. I usually dont write reviews, however after my experience at this location I wanted to make sure I share my experience and provide feedback. Went to this location for a simple oil change my for mother and I vehicles with a groupon. With being new to the area I gave this well known franchise a try. Greeted by an individual by the name of Fennel who assumed I was child so he offered my mother a cup coffee and when asked this character do you not see me standing here, he says "Kids these days" then had to explain to him that Im far from a child and actually older then this imbicile and regardless I'm a CUSTOMER that has paid for both mother and myself oil change. Careless about the coffee, it's the fact that you complete transaction with myself and act as if I dont exist. Child or not a CUSTOMER should be treated with respect. However I moved on accepted the fact that this individual was not trained properly and just needed the oil change, but the ignorance doesnt stop there! He continues to joke around and make sarcastic comments. It got to the point where my mother had to put him in his place because he wouldnt stop. Despite the AWFUL customer service, I chose this place also because the reviews were fairly good and also it stated no hidden fees. HOWEVER there are hidden fees, the details on the groupon says the recycling fee is $4, however it was more along with also a shop fee for the "workers to use the machines". So on top of my groupons I paid an additional $60 for the two cars for synthetic oil change and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Moral to the story, Customer service is EVERYTHING! Regardless of who it is treat everyone with respect. Thinking your smoothing out your wrong with sarcastic comments doesnt make it better, just apologize and move forward. I rather pay more at the jiffy lubes across the street then to deal with this again. They actually did 4 oil changes in the time frame of both my vehicles on the lift! read more

BEWARE... DONT Trust the Midas Touch, this should be their slogan. I went in on 8/27 and dropped my car off, because I work probably a block away. Sure they were courteous when I dropped off my car at 10am, the place was full of people. I was specific with the man that I wanted synthetic oil and all tires rotated. I signed an invoice with that information. I leave and head back to work, and now it's 4:30 pm and I still haven't heard anything so I call to see if my car is ready. They say it's ready and they didn't want to call me and interrupt me at work.. I walk over to Midas and see my car out front, and I go directly to my car. I check to see if my tires were rotated and they were not. ( I did not want to be taken as a fool, so I numbered my tires that morning). I walk inside and now in talking to a different advisor and I tell him i am here for pickup. He grabs my paperwork and says yes it's all ready. I asked him if my tires were rotated, and he said yes, it's all ready. I told him my tires did not get rotated, and now he's saying they show, Even Wear. I told him that's unacceptable, I asked for a service and was very clear what I wanted. I know exactly what the service schedule is for my car. He said ok, well you need to wait another 20 min at least, and then he kept repeating to me, do my tires have locks on them... and I told him no. I sat down and waited and was just even madder and let them know I felt they were trying to get one up on me, and I'm not happy. They started telling me that no car repair shop will rotate your tires if they have even tread. So I asked him, what is the Midas Policy on this??? And they got quiet and still said I have even tread. I told them my cars tires should be rotated, not based on tread but mileage as it states. 20 min later I get my car back and they take $10 off. DONT COME HERE!! And number your tires at the next place! read more

Don't bother scheduling an appointment online. Although it seems convenient and you'll get a confirmation email, when you get there they'll act like they have no idea that you scheduled an appointment. Even after you double check your confirmation email and confirm you're at the right place at the right time they will still tell you no (with a terrible attitude). Apparently the confirmation emails are "generic responses" and shouldn't be taken seriously. I had an appointment between 1:30 and 3 o'clock. When I got there at 2 o'clock I was told I would have to leave my car and could wait until about 6 o'clock until they were able to work on it. All I was getting was an oil change. Even though the coupon was for a great price, I ended up going across the street to another shop who did it for me in 15 minutes. read more

While Midas does " value repair jobs " you do not get what you think you are paying for. The chain repair shops are all about profits over good work meaning their own branded parts are inferior to others out there. If you want exhaust work done they can handle that but i would be very, very careful before you commit to having your vehicle worked on at this particular location. I had work done that was so simple to do a chimp could have done it but they found a way to mess up ( and was just stupid mistakes ), they weren't rushed so they could focus on the job at hand but it was a flub up. read more

Do not go here. Went here for 2 years. I realized that they kept telling me that my rotors were shot EVERY TIME I went so a brake job was costing me about 350 a pop (looking back it was my fault I kept going). This place is a joke. When my wife told them she didn't want something done because it didn't need done they told her to not blame them when it goes wrong. 6 months ago I went in and they told me I needed new rotors because they wouldn't pass inspection. I told them very politely to go pound sand. 6 months later, my brakes look great and my rotors do not need any service (I passed inspection) without having ANY work done in between. I'm hoping someone investigates the practices here, you will quickly realize what a joke mechanic they are and they are taking money from people that really don't have it in the first place. read more
