They didn't charge me for work I didn't need done and gave me a quote on tires but suggested I might get a better deal elsewhere based on my needs. My wife scheduled a service online for an oil change on a Sunday for a Monday appointment at 9:30. It was scheduled as a wait for service. Apparently they did not check the online system for our appointment. They told my wife it would be 45 minutes. She took a long walk came back and nothing had been done. She confronted the manager after she waited 2 hours. The next morning there was a puddle of oil in our driveway. She returned to Midas to see if it was a filter or drain plug leak. They checked and found no problem. He told her the puddle of was from the air conditioner condensation. I believe it actually is from them spilling oil onto the engine during the service and they should have stepped up and held themselves accountable. Instead they tried to bluff their way by saying it was air conditioner condensation. We have had good service in the past but will not be back. read more

They charge us for services we never agreed to and It's a BAD IDEA to come here. Spend your money elsewhere you won't regret it. They charged me $2,000 for a vacuum pump that they supposedly replaced and screwed us over big time. The store manager there is so rude and snooty. These people should be taken out of business. Now I have a 2020 Chevy that needed an engine replacement and instead they did nothing but take out money. Brought my car back there 3 times, I have a 1993 mustang and at first they had the brakes done and when i got the car back they forgot to plug in a wiring harness that connects to the brake pedal, no big deal i plugged it in, then i hear a wheel bearing like grinding noise from the rear then have them replace those. NOW finally the car is driving good. Then the same day i picked the car up I was on I-5 doing 60 after about 30 miles of driving since i got it and my brakes go to the floor. Dont trust this shop they could have caused me to crash or get injured. read more

I went in knowing what I needed done. They charged me $45 for an inspection. OK. Quoted me $153. Made an appointment for the next day. I showed up early to drop off my truck. New tech on duty first says, I don't have you down. Hmm? Then he finds me in his computer and says other tech ordered a tailpiece. Then says the other tech did order the right parts but the price is now $300 plus. Im not sure if it's a scam or incompitence, but I will never use any Midas ever again, the operation of this store is at the very least mismanaged, if not actively bloating quotes after the initial quote has been given. While I was there the tech was dealing with another disgruntled customer on the phone wanting the owners phone number. I would not recommend anyone have their vehical worked on at this location. I went in for an oil change, and my check engine light started flashing. They changed the oil but ignored the flashing light. My car was still stalling and wouldn't go over 25 mph, so I went back multiple times. Each time they sent me away without fixing the issue. They eventually told me I needed a new coil and spark plugs, kept my car for the weekend after I'd already waited nearly five hours, and still didn't fix the problem. When I picked it up the next week, they admitted they didn't know what was wrong and told me to go to the dealership. The dealership immediately found the issue: Midas had installed the wrong coil and spark plugs! When I asked Midas for a refund, I was bounced around between staff. The manager, Terry, never called me back, even though I was promised a call back the following morning. I had to call back and finally spoke with Terry, who let me know he couldn't help me get a refund, the owner, James, had to be the one. James has also never contacted me. This location showed incompetence, poor communication, and zero accountability. I'm extremely frustrated and would not trust them with my vehicle again. In my opinion, they clearly don't care about their customers, their quality of work, or their customers' safety. I would give Midas in Everett negative stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Got an engine replacement and afterwards I have all these problems that I never had before and they tell me there isn't a code so they won't fix it. The engine so far is doing good. When I got my car back the transmission wasn't even filled properly. Car half the time doesn't wanna start and I have no idea why. Only problem my car had when I brought it in was it had rod knock. when I also went to go pick up my car the car wouldn't start on me Either and my steering wheel was very crooked to go straight. I had to turn the wheel left. This business could probably improve if they would listen to the customer a little bit and maybe do some research instead of telling me the problem is something not even related at all to any of this and maybe if they can take accountability and communicate with one another. Do not under any circumstances go to this Midas or probably any Midas at all. To start they are all franchised so other locations have no incentive to help you with work done at a different location. I had thought by choosing a national brand I could go anywhere but that is simply not the case. I had my front brakes, rotors, and calipers completely replaced. Additionally, they performed a caliper lube/bolt replacement on my rears. Immediately my new brakes were squeeky. Apparently they did not install the caliper clips correctly so the hardware was making contact directly with my brand new rotors. About a month after they fixed that the caliper bolts fell out and my calipers are grinding against the new rotors. So, for a simple brake job they cannot be trusted at all, and I would steer clear of anything more complicated as you're looking at a ton of trouble. read more

This review is about the Everett mall way Midas location, and the management team, Joe, and James. 1. I came in with a heating issue in my Honda Accord. I left my car with Joe on Sat. 11/18/23. Joe told me he would get in touch with me by end of day to let me know what was going on. No call. And the shop was closed Sunday. 2. Monday evening, I receive a call from Joe, saying the thermostat is sealed over, and before they can do any further diagnostic work, they need to replace it. 150 dollars. I ok the repair. An hour later, get a call saying there is still no heat, and the heater core is likely plugged. 1460 dollar repair. I tell Joe I need to think about it. The next morning at 9am, I speak to James, and ok the repair. James tells me my car will have the work started that morning, Tuesday the 21st, and will be done wednesday evening at the latest. I say ok, and we end the call. 3. I call Wednesday Morning, to check on the status of the repair. Joe answers, and tells me the repair just got started this morning, but assured me the repair would be complete by end of day, 6pm. I get another call around 5pm from Joe, saying the repair isn't done, and won't be done tonight. At this point I am irate. I ask what they are going to do to compensate me for the inconvenience, because at this point, I won't have my car for Thanksgiving travel, and won't have it for Black Friday shopping. Joe tells me he is sorry for the inconvenience, and will "try" to do something about the cost. 4. Friday afternoon, 11/24/23 I call Midas to check the status of the repair. James answers the phone, and immediately puts me on hold. 10 minutes later, he hangs up, without getting back to me. I was livid. I called to get a ride to come into the shop, and found that no work had been done on my car at all, as the technician "called in sick". I asked to speak to Joe. Joe called in sick as well. Why wasn't I notified immediately that no one was available to work on my vehicle? Why did I have to drive in after BEING HUNG UP ON to learn this? Today, 11/25/23, a full week after dropping it off,a call from Joe in the afternoon. He tells me he is going to give me 10% off parts and labor for the inconvenience. That is a joke. 10% is an incentive to bring in new business on the fence. Not for addressing a serious grievance/inconvenience. I asked for both the Owners number, and the district managers number, and he would not give it to me. Said he didn't have it. They disrespected me, they disrespected my time, and they destroyed trust I had in Midas spanning 20 years of repairs. Midas on Everett Mall Way: a hot mess. The employees seem harried and overworked. They have taken care of my car for 6 years but the last time I went in for an oil change, I was unhappy with the service. They didn't inflate my tires to the right psi's and when I drove out, the TPS light was on and stayed on for a couple days. I thought it just needed some freeway driving to turn off but it never went off. Finally, I measured the PSI in my tires and the rear left tire was 7 PSI under the correct PSI of 32! The others were right on 32 psi (as they should be) but the invoice, inexplicably, had them ALL at 34 psi. If they are making mistakes with something so basic and simple as my tires, what other mistakes are they making that I'm not aware of? And I couldn't find any indication on the invoice of tire rotation. (I thought that was part of the service as it always has been in the past.) When I then called to have them correct the psi in my one tire, the man on the phone was so pleasant and said 'Come in anytime!" But when I went there, the man who filled my tire seemed irritated. I told him I'd just been there a week ago and that my TPS light was still on. He said that it was probably an electrical glitch. I said: No. I checked the tire myself and it's down 7 psi. He frowned, motioned me over to the air hose, did his job and said adios...with no small talk, no smile...just a feeling of "Why is this woman taking up my time?" He didn't recognize me as a customer of just a few days previous as well as the last 6 years, though he always waited on me. I would have expected a: "I'm sorry you had to come back! Please let us know if you have any more problems." My oil change turned out to be $292 so, yes, maybe I deserved a little courtesy! I could have just filled the tire myself but I wanted THEM to know they screwed up on a simple thing and I didn't feel like searching for 5 quarters for one tire. Besides, I can't seem to go to fill up my tires without some guy coming over asking for spare change. (I am SO tired of living in South Everett with all these homeless people who are homeless b/c they are too high to go to work. But that's another story...) I sympathize with the mechanics who are running around and frankly, I don't really blame them for making mistakes. They should not be made to rush around like crazy. That's when mistakes are made. They need more help at this busy place and I hope they get it. P.S. I've been driving around now for a couple of weeks since this situation and my rear tire is just fine. It has maintained its psi of 32 so It wasn't some kind of slow leak or 'electrical glitch'...it was just inattention to detail. read more

I made an appointment to bring my 1966 ford f100 in for a simple muffler and exhaust repair.I figured while its there i just have them change my oil since its up on a lift. I was given a 10 appointment on Saturday morning.I arrived at 9:30.There was 5 guys working with nothing to do so they got on it right away.The guys pulled my vehicle into the stall and started to look at what was needed and give it an overall inspection to find other issues that they could repair or make suggestions on.As it all started great and i was feeling really good about the experience it all turned into a shit Show shortly after. We went from not having the one muffler I needed to getting two replaced to make them match because i have dual exhaust.I was OK with all of it just to get the job completed . Finally they figured they could not get any of the parts needed from any suppliers so Terry the shop manager said he would make one muffler they had in the shop work on my exhaust. This is 4 hours later since my vehicle entered the stall. Now Terry is all worked up about something and tells Joe the shop manager that he has to make me go away and that i cannot watch what hes doing. There customer seating area is about a 6x6 area where everyone comes in and out. Note i was standing outside the door in the parking lot just watching cause id been there 4 hours for what should have been an in and out job and i was bored to death. My truck is extremely basic its a 1966 Ford f100 nothing special or complicated an extremely basic exhaust system. So finally at 2:39 you would expect my truck to be completed but NO. I left with paying a 619.57 bill, an exhaust that made more noise then when i arrived and 5 hours of a wasted Saturday.I was contemplating returning for an additional 1200.00 of work on Tuesday when they received parts for my front end. Note of the 1200.00 dollars 1100.00 would have been all labor which is what the mechanics work for. Just came back for the fourth time for the same power steering problem. The second time they blamed the part And replaced it. The third time they blamed rack and pinion steering for causing a leak, and charged me $1300 to replace it. This time, on our fourth go with this,Got charged $46 to figure out the problem yet again because I was two weeks past a 90 day warranty. Employee's claim they have no choice about charging me.Waiting to find out how much they will charge me to repair a leaking O-ring, blamed on the part rather than installation, of course. I do have a choice about ever coming back here. Based on apparently sloppy installation of an O-ring, I am left to wonder whether the installation of the power steering pump caused the rack and pinion problem. I spent $80 to have a Ford mechanic inspect that job. they reported that it seemed to be OK, but there was power steering fluid all over the place, which they cleaned up. After upgrading the suspension in our 2007 Jeep Wrangler I booked an appointment to have the alignment checked. What was supposed to be a 30 minute inspection followed by an additional 30 minutes for the alignment work turned into a complete failure that took nearly 3 hours without any service being performed (and we still ended up paying the "inspection" fee of $70). The shop stated that it was not possible to align the vehicle and quoted over $1,300 in "necessary" repairs in order to properly perform an alignment. This was stunning considering some of the parts they suggested needed replacement had just been installed two days prior and were known to be a perfect condition. When questioned on this quote for "repair" the front desk team stated that the steering gear box required replacement because there was "a lot of play" in the steering and four new tires were necessary (clearly not true). This too was total nonsense and it became uncomfortable for the Midas crew as I pressed them for legitimate reasons. After some grilling I asked them "How many people come in here expecting an alignment and instead your team comes back with quotes for extensive repairs?" The response said it all, "about half." Be warned this is a shady shop here and the uncomfortable conversation with the front desk/mechanics spilled the beans under pressure. The end result, I received an "inspection" of the alignment which we had to pay $70 for and an absurd quote for $1,300 along with a refusal to align the vehicle unless we proceeded forward with the "repairs." read more

Unfortunately I am not able to give a comprehensive review as I was refused service. I had tried to request a quote on replacing my brake pads online, they required an appointment which I scheduled and intended to attend if I got a quote which I noted in the comments as I wasn't able to simply request prices. I called back after a missed call and was informed they could only offer an inspection and not brake pad replacement. I was working so I agreed to give them a courtesy call later if I decided not to choose there only option of inspection. So I called back to cancel unless I could get their price sheet. They can have all my variables as far as make, model, even the vin, everything is stock.They have every spec of my truck so just brake pads cost what? Brakes and rotor resurface cost what? Brake and rotor replacement cost what? Brakes, rotors and calipers cost what? I was transparent with them so I didn't waste their time and they were at least transparent in the fact that the inspection was all they were willing to provide me with. read more

After striking out a couple of times, I stopped at Midas and spoke with Scott Walker. Must be the owner of the place and if no, he should be. Clearly told me that I would need to leave the car as he was packed for the day. Since tomorrow will be difficult for me, I agreed to just wait. He checked to see if he had the oil, and when he found he didn't, he referred me to an entity that works with this type car. I've scheduled my appt for tomorrow morning. I am very, very pleased with the oil change I got here. (See my previous unpleasant experience with Jiffy Lube.) They quoted me a price, I used a coupon, and they stuck with it. They didn't try to say there were all kinds of horrible things wrong with my car that they needed to sell me parts and service for. They mentioned a couple things (like new belts) that might need to be replaced later, but that it was nothing urgent. It was Tuesday so they had a two-for-1 windshield wiper deal (I think it was about $7?) I took it but one of them squeaks and I think the one I had on before was better (hate to take off a star for that.) We come here for all of our oil changes. We brought our car in today for an oil change and the mention that we thought our rotors might need to be replaced. They detailed every option we had, and provided us clear timelines for our remaining brake pad usage. Never before have I been treated so well at an auto shop. We are replacing our front rotors and brake pads, and we well bring our car back when we need to replace the rear brake pads. They are honest, compassionate people. Took my truck there to get new brake pads. They came back and said my front calipers seized and I needed new rotors and brakes front and back. I was quoted a price that was way different when I came to pick up my truck and pay. There's no way I would have paid 1700 dollars for brakes and accessories. So I pay and when I leave midas (not worth capitalizing) my right rear tire is making wierd noises. So I pull over and go to look and 2 of my lug nuts was missing. My tire was slanted and was about to come off. I called, they wanted me to drive it back to them. Absolutely NOT!!! They then offered to tow it. That was the only way to get it back over there. I will never go to that midas in Everett on Everett Mall Way again. I will be contacting corporate. MY DAUGHTERS COULD HAVE BEEN IN THERE WITH ME. It's scary and disturbing at the same time. Can you give negative stars to a company's service? First off my experience started out terrific with amazing service offered by Zachary at the Everett store. However, Brian (the store manager) was horrendous. He was not easy or kind to deal with. He was completely sexist and ageist to me as soon as I walked in the door, being an alternative 18 year old woman I should've taken my busy elsewhere. I was not treated with respect and I even had to go and get my parents to seem more like a "grown-up" and be taken seriously. I had my hood latch on my VW golf changed as well as an oil change. I had told Brian he did not have to change my hood latch for me and I can go to a body shop as he recommended, Brian told me it was no problem and continued to pull the car in and change the fluids for me as well as the latch. That was on a Thursday. The following Sunday coming back from Seattle pride,my engine light was on and all of the sudden my entire hood came completely lose and flew up at my windshield breaking the hydrologic arm and the hinges connecting the hood. Luckily my windshield was not cracked, there was a small chip put in my windshield and my quarter plannels were being damaged by the hood from the ruined corners. I am very lucky I wasn't alone or injured in this accident that was caused by the ignorance of your store manager. After I called and told Brain this he became increasing difficult and I almost had to bring an attorney into the ordeal Brian didn't want to take responsibility for. I will not be coming back or sending anyone to your company again out of negligence and foul workmanship. Brain is also lucky that I did not call his corporate office numbers sooner. read more

I am parked with 2 kids in the car waiting for my wife to finish shopping. A slim medium height white guy in a Midas coverall with salt n pepper hair not wearing a mask and with glasses backed in a red coupe next to me outside the Midas repair bays and opened the door hard into my car door. I was parked to shop at Grocery Outlet which shares a parking lot with Midas. He did not apologize. I said hey you hit my door! Still no apology but he said there was no damage dismissively. I notice the door on the red sports car has many chips in the edge that hit my car. I pity the customer whose car that is. Clearly Midas does not train their employees in customer service or to keep cars in their charge undamaged. Later one of their other workers comes out and says that is their parking stall even though it is unmarked and has no sign saying so. Again, zero remorse. I took my car to get my cv axle fixed, car alignment, change brake pads and also windshield wipers. Repair was done except the alignment,which they forget to take care of ( note I didn't get charged for the alignment) my issue with this Midas is when I took my car the windshield was fine, now when I picked up the car I had multiple cracks on the screen. I returned to the shop immediately to report it to the manager, who checked with his technicians and they all agreed that I brought the car in with cracked windshield ( which is not true). The manager Ted was rude and condescending, he believed his techs over me. Beside I was told the repair was going to take 4 hours to complete but it took them two days to complete the work. read more
