So, this was a strange experience for me. I recently had to undergo brake repairs/replacements, and I kept reading that Midas was the way to go I filled out an appointment request online, and at the end I was told that I would get a notification and someone would reach out. I never heard anything and I submitted another request. Again, not hearing anything I called them. It went to voicemail a couple times, and then they picked up. The individual I spoke with was very helpful. I was told that they processed my request that morning (for that day), and I was given other cost and time estimates. The customer experience over the phone was great Upon arrival I explained that I was requesting to get my brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid worked on. I told them who I spoke to over the phone, and what I was told. I was then told that the person I spoke to quit that day, and that the rest of the employees working there also quit (a walkout). I don't know what happened but this gentleman and one worker were pulled from another location. I was told they could work on my car, and that it would take a couple of hours. I was the only patron there, and they got started right away The waiting room was fine, nothing flashy. I didn't want to have anyone lick me up so I waited. An hour in I could have sworn I heard someone yell something from the garage, and minutes later I was told they couldn't complete the work on my vehicle... none of it. We were an hour in, and I guess the person in the garage didn't have the right skill set or tools available for the day. I came back, and it was a new crew, but it was still just a front desk person and someone in the garage. This time it took 3hrs. This was frustrating as I chose to wait, and it felt like I was just sitting in a DMV. Also, I took PTO from work both times, and this was unacceptable The employees were all friendly and helpful, and I understand that the situation wasn't necessarily their fault. They offered discounts even on the phone prior to me taking my car in for the first time. I would have appreciated it the work would have taken less time than anticipated and not more time especially after I had already been inconvenienced an hour of my time. Or at the very least that they would have taken an additional discount off for the inconvenience It's fairly safe to say that while this may have been a one off, I would not recommend Midas or this location read more

I've had mixed experiences with this place, which is kind of surprising. On both visits, I had just wanted an oil change. They have a coupon online that cuts the price almost in half, which makes for a great deal. They've also got a generally decent reputation for great quality work, so I was hoping I'd get the same. On the first visit, I got everything of the sort. I was in and out within about 30 minutes, the coupon was applied, and no upsells. I'd be willing to give the place five stars on that visit alone. On the second visit, it was a completely different story. They came out with a series of suggestions on what to do, and the visit, which was quoted at 25 minutes to get out, ended up taking almost an hour because they were more concerned with their upsells than getting the service I came in for completed. The visit ended up being a 1- or 2-star experience, so I've settled on 3 stars overall. read more

Came in for an oil change, due to a Groupon I'd purchased. However the Groupon was for a different location. I spoke with Frank, who gave me a better in-house promotion. I decided to ask about other servicing options. Based on the reasonable pricing and finance options, I got several necessary things done, like an alignment, struts, and fuel injectors serviced. I went to Midas on Bellaire street in Houston Texas to have my oil changed. The staff, Mr . Frank informed me that my rotors were good, but my brake pads needed to be changed on my 2020 ram. So I agreed to have the oil changed and the brake pads changed. During the changing of the brake pads, Mr. Frank informed me that one of the bolts on the housing of my caliper was broken and that the repair would involve changing the entire caliper and the housing. Mr. Frank said that the bolt was already broken. I asked him how was this possible because have driven from Houston, Texas to Chicago, Illinois, Florida, and North Dakota with no problems. Long story short the simple oil change ended up costing me $1000. It is my opinion that the staff broke the bolt and then charge me to have the repairs done. On a separate occasion, my wife brought her car in for a simple oil change and Mr. Frank informed her that she needed rotors and brake pads. And that simple oil change cost $1200. As I sat in the waiting room waiting on my vehicle to be repaired, which took two days, I heard Mr. Frank tell several people that came in for simple things that they needed more costly work done on their vehicles. In my opinion, the staff at this certain location have one heck of a racket going on by charging people A lot of money for work on their vehicle that does not need to be performed. Not 5 miles down the road after my brake pads and brand new caliper had been installed. There was a grinding noise coming from my front left brake pads. I immediately called Mr. Frank and notified him of the situation. The shop was closing, so I contacted Mr. Frank on the next business day and Mr. Frank informed me on the phone, that it was probably my rotors making this noise. but in my original conversation with Mr. Frank, he clearly told me nothing was wrong with my rotors. I came across this place due to a Groupon I purchased as it had a reasonable price for a synthetic oil change. I spoke to Joe about coming in, they were able to make an appointment so I could come in within 30 minutes. I arrived early, and was told it would be a 30 minute wait, and they were able to get me out the door within 30 minutes. Joe gave me a print-out of other items they had noticed during the multi-point inspection when they did the oil change (ex. dirty filters, dirty liquids), and included pictures of some of the items they observed. Appreciate the availability, prompt and thorough service, and the friendliness of the staff to make this chore as easy as possible. read more

Although we did not have an appointment, the technician decided to service our car since the appointed customer had not arrived. We went in for oil change and received a very thorough evaluation of our car. Many great suggestions of things to do and at what rate they needed to be done.
