I took advantage of a $19.99 special (oil change, various checkups) even though I had been worried about having to wait a long time because first-come, first-served. I pulled in a little after 10 am on a Friday before Labor Day and pulled out an hour later --- right when the staff told me my car would be ready. IMPORTANT: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO MIDAS. I ignored the negative reviews and came to Midas out of convenience. I've learned my lesson. In Yelp I trust. Don't have this happen to you. I came in for a simple oil change. Here's my story. Strike One: I have new tires on my car yet they insisted that the tires need to be rotated and that alignment/balancing was off...definitely not true. Tires are a month old. Strike Two: Once I pick up my car and drive away I notice that the turning signals and headlights are not working. I go back to Midas and they run diagnostics on the car. I'm told I have a faulty battery. What a coincidence my battery began failing after service at Midas. They insist I need a new battery and claim they don't have a battery charger. I give them the ok to replace my battery. I'm fuming and decide I don't want to give them anymore of my money. I have the technician reinstall my old battery and guess what? The lights come back on. Those assholes had loosened my battery connections. Im sure of it. Strike Three: The next day the oil light comes on in my car. I refuse to go back to have them check the light. I'll be going to a dealer certified mechanic from now on. Fuck Midas. Fuck Pierre the Manager and fuck their entire service crew. They are all crooks. read more

This place looks professional but it is a complete scam, they use spare parts of poor quality and they make suggestions that sometimes are not necessary just for their benefit and since most people like me do not know about the matter they take advantage and end up increasing your account with things that you do not need, because they earn commission on sales, I had a lot of confidence in that place because the staff is very kind and it seemed an honest place but after several services I realized that it was not like that, I had a problem with my brakes and they they suggested changing pads, discs and tires, all that I did because it seemed important for my safety, but after a while the car again presented problems for the same, I took it again and they told me that I had a guarantee and that they were going to change everything again, I picked up the car and the problem persisted, I thought it was temporary because they had just changed discs and pills but it was not like that, take the car to the workshop of the factory. and they explained to me what the car needed and they showed me that they had never made any repairs by changing the new ppr parts that were the same Chinese pieces of bad quality that had changed at the beginning, the question is because they do not think about the security of the people? It is a brake issue is very serious, because they deceive people, it is better to say that there are different types of spare parts ... live your own experience. read more

I wasted job time, I got a wrong diagnostic, they did not solve the problem, I had to wait one week to know that, so they start to change and change parts with no compromises to solve the problem. They told me about more charges for new parts but no compromise or warranty to solve the problem. My car now is worst, it continues overheating. I go out absolutely frustrated paying that amount, trusting in MIDAS like a excellent a compromised with clients. No money back no nothing. Waste time and money. So responsive, quick with my inspections, I was in and out in 15 minutes max each time I had to go in! Terrible service. I went for a 15000 mile service on my Audi, they told me they could do it, charged me for it, and only when I went to pick up my car, they told me that they don't have the computer to re-set my car computer after the service is (supposedly) done. So my car still showed as if the service had not been done. Which meant I had to pay someone else to do that, when I had already paid Midas for it. They are absolute liars and their customer service is nonexisting. read more

I really wished this place would be ok, as it's convenient from where I live. I went in to fix my tires back in April and I was very surprised by how lame the service was. The sales person tried to sell me pretty poor quality tires, trying to make it sound like I was getting the Lamborghini of tires, simply because those were the only ones he had in stock. I've worked in the tire world myself so I know what's a good tire and what isn't, so when I started questioning, he became pretty rude. One thing I really dislike is when guys in the car industry talk down to and are being condescending to women, expecting them to know nothing about cars. As a customer, I believe you should be met with the same respect regardless if you're a man/woman/black/white/etc. The installation was half assed and when I asked the mechanic about it, he tried to give me some nonsense explanation, when it turned out they hadn't even refilled the tire pressure! I normally never take the time to write reviews, but I've sent several emails to Midas customer service & tried to get in touch with the store manager. With the tires being the main surface in between my car and the road, the difference between good, well installed tires and poor quality, half assed installed tires (especially on hot/rainy Miami roads) really impacts safety. read more

I just had my car serviced and they did a great job. Every time i have gone to this place, they have been right on the money with it. When something is wrong with either one of my cars, they physically show me the problem. This place is really being managed poorly. Wanted to give a try multiple times. Last time , for a bulb replacement two of the guys said come up with cash and will take care of it. This time went for a brake replacement and just the labor for front tires they said $150 and $300 for both front and back. I told them i do have a written quote from tireplus close by for only $55 for the for front. They said go get it done there. 3 times more labor cost in the same area is non sense. Had just an awful experience! I took my car in because there was an oil leak, paid almost $1,000 to fix it. They call me about an hour before they close saying it's done to come pick it up. When I get there they tell me they weren't actually finished, but that what they have left will take longer than they have until closing so they won't do it today (if they had just started it when they called instead of when I got there they would have had enough time for what they quoted me). But then they tell me it's just resetting the computer system to turn off the alarm lights for what they fixed, that it has nothing to do with driving and it should drive fine, so that if I want to take it I can and bring it back to reset when I have a chance. To me this sounds perfect. I get it home and one block away from my apartment the next day and it stalls out and won't restart. I have it towed there and bring them the keys first thing when they open, assuming it's going to take an hour, since this is what they told me before. 6 hours later I call for an update because I haven't heard anything. The person who answers starts yelling at me saying nothing has changed since I last called a few minutes ago (well I hadn't called and neither had anyone else I know checking on the car). I finally get a call 1 hour before they close saying it's fixed they just want to take it for a test drive to make sure it doesn't happen again. Perfect they can test drive it now and by the time I get there just before closing it will be ready...no. The guy there doesn't want to deal with the traffic at this time so he will just do it in the morning. When I tell him I need my car he doesn't seem bothered by it and starts yelling at me for complaining. This is now the second time I've been yelled at for nothing. I then call the manager, who is super nice, and he promises that if he has to he will test drive it himself and make sure I get it the next day. Even to the point if I can't leave work before they close he will have it driven to where I work. Well this all sounded great, but the next day when I went to pick it up the trip odometer had less than 10 miles on it. Which means the 45-60 minute test drive he wanted to do never happened and the car wreaked of cigarettes. So I couldn't pick my car up the day before and was ubering everywhere I needed, including to and from work, for something they told me had to be done they never did. This was the worst experience with a car or service I have ever had! read more

Rip-off artists! Took my car in as brake & ABS lights were lit in dashboard. They said they need to do a computer check at cost of $70. Afterwards they gave me an estimate of well over $500 to replace the master brake cylinder ($175 part, 275 labor. plus, plus). They also showed me that there was wear on front tires and gave me an estimate of another almost $600 for all 4 tires ($60 ea. tire plus mounting, balancing, etc). I have never before heard of labor and mounting charges for tires amounting to more than the cost of the tires themselves. So I went shopping. Ended up buying the brake cylinder online (a new one not rebuilt) and had it installed for a total cost of $!85. Way less than half the original estimate. What's more I got 2 others labor estimates that were all in the same range as what I paid. As for the tires, turns out I only need new ones in the front, not the rear and I will now get them replaced for substantially less than what Midas quoted me. Shame on you guys! You will never see me again and I will, over time, relate my story to everyone I know in the area. read more

Stay away from is place!! I was looking for a place to install a batery i just bought for $200 at auto zone (they would not install it themselves) as this is for a jaguar. After 3 mechanics who refused to install it because they were affraid of that type of car, they were actually honest and told me "we dont want to temper with a car like this". Fine. When i got at midas, Miguel at the front desk said there was no problem, they would do it right away for $29 something!! I was glad i finally found a place willing to help. After they handled my car and installed the new battery, i paid ($35 exactly) and i got back in the car. I started hearing a sound like one vent was blowing, so i turned on my car to check the AC, but the on/off button for the ac would not work anymore, so my ac was blowing hot air (even while car was off) and i could not turn on the whole system anymore. No need to say that before they touched my car everything was FINE! I got out the car and let miguel know, he said they will check. After a few minutes of them saying "its weird we just put the battery" and going around the car, and checking the fuses (not really thoroughly) miguel came back to me and said there was nothing wrong and that they did their job and that "maybe you brought it like this"! I then looked for the manager, who turned out to be the rudest person on site. Luis his name, told me i didnt know anything about cars and that he doesn know himself what happened, and that they would gladly check... For $89.99!! I said i would not leave until my car was fixed but this "manager" said they would not do anything, would not refund me, and just wanted me to leave basically. I never saw hime again during the 2 hours i stayed....for nothing. That is the worst place ever, dishonest people and rude. Stay away from them as just try to get your money and know nothing about CUSTOMER SERVICE. They should not be in business anymore. I have now to pay (seems it will be a lot) to fix what THEY broke on my car. Needless to say i will not be going back to this place. read more

They finished earlier then expected, and take care of returning customers. They got my car in in about 15 min which was great considering the amount of people in the weighting room. They did my oil change and during the inspection found my truck had an oil leak. I am very disappointed in this place. I have been coming here for the past couple of years for tires and oil changes. Had them work on two different cars I had. Then last time I had an oil change they left my oil cap off (which could cause issues if oil started to spill over) so after I was already on my way to work, I received a call from them telling me to come back as soon as possible since they left the cap off. I had to be late to work to go back due to their negligence. So the manager doing what was right, offered me a free oil change to make up for what had happened. I called back for my following oil change and was told there was nothing in the system and that there was nothing they could do, because that manager no longer works there. You would think that customer service would do something to make things right. Especially since I have been a customer of theirs for a couple of years. But nope, nothing of the kind.
