Midas on Frankstown Road Penn Hills. Arrived 20 mins early for an oil change on a Saturday morning with a scheduled online oil change time slot of between 9 and 10am ... Mike the manager said they were busy and were about 45 minutes behind schedule. Decided I would come back in an hour or so. Arrived at 10.30 and still busy ...there were 4 or 5 other people in the waiting room. My car got taken care of within an hour. Mike is very friendly upbeat and jovial. Slight misunderstanding about coupon I had but was corrected right away with no fuss. I can see how stacked up things can get especially on a weekend. People coming for one thing and needing extra work done and I'm sure there are still post Covid staffing issues. Mikes great demeanor goes a long way. read more

I booked an appointment online which was convenient. I waited and it wasn't bad, the waiting room was cleaned and tidy. With this inspection I am guessing I was ripped off by my last inspection at a small garage for I got front brakes replaced and they said the back ones will need to be replaced at next visit. For this inspection, the mechanic at Midas said the front brakes were a 9 and the back were a 7 and they were fine. I hate being ripped off, I will go back to this Midas shop. read more

I don't even know where to begin.... I came in looking to get my oil changed. I attempted to check my vehicle in with 'Matthew'. He greeted me with "do you have an appointment?" to my reply was a "No, but I'm okay dropping my car off for an oil change until you all can get to it." He then said he wasn't doing any oil changes right now (It was 10 am and a car on every lift, I was aware that my car wasn't going to be service "right now"). I responded "no worries, I'd like to drop it off and just get to it when you get to it". He received a phone call from the shop, and walked away from the reception desk without as much as a "one moment". I still stood there, waiting for my name to be asked and vehicle to be checked in. The manager left me waiting a good 10 minutes. Upon return, he greeted another customer. I excused myself and asked that he finish servicing me before checking in other vehicles to which he yelled back "I ALREADY TOLD YOU I'M NOT DOING YOUR OIL CHANGE RIGHT NOW!". I was shocked and embarrassed. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. I even asked him where the customer service was and he told me there wasn't any.... Clearly. He claimed I was trying to argue with him. Make no mistake, i was requesting a service-- not demanding he changed my oil. Instead of thinking I was lingering to argue, why not assist me with making an appointment? He never once provided me with a time or date to return. I asked him to lower his voice when speaking with me. He told me to leave as I was dismissed and he wasn't going to service my car. When I finished with the paperwork, and asked how long my oil change/inspection/emissions would take, again, they said 45 minutes. Okay. Well, it's 4:17, and here I sit, looking at my car in the parking lot, as it still hasn't been brought back. I'm patient. After looking at my car in the parking lot for an hour, I asked, "What's the hold up?" The man at the desk, the same man with whom I made the appointment on the phone, the same man with whom I checked in, the same man with whom I was pointing to my Jeep right now asked "Which car is yours?" Other people have come and gone. I've watched the same technician smoke three cigarettes. And here I wait. Also, my car is one year old and has never had any issues. This should be cake. I've been here nearly 2.5 hours for my 45 minute appointment, so I can confidently say with confidence, that this is a two star review. After they were finished because i work late they gave me the option to pick my car up after hours witch most places don't allow. GREAT experiences with the MIDAS TEAM in Penn Hills on Frankstown Road! Specifically asst. manager JEFF! If you need a trusted and good down to earth team this is the place. Jeff and his team have done us right on several different occasions now over the past 4 months. It is nice to finally have a RELIABLE & TRUSTED group of mechanics. Most importantly we DO NOT feel like we are being pressured to SPEND more than needed. It's the simple things that Jeff and his team do to help - like putting the spare tire away properly and fixing some squeaking on our brakes (without charging us extra) since the car was there for other work anyways. We were loyal Monroeville Midas customers for years when Terry was the manager, but when he moved, the quality of the service quickly declined (a regional manager took over as store manager, and it was very clear that his only goal was to up-sell us, rather than take care of his customers the way he would want to be treated). We recently tried out Cochran GMC Service Center, and were horrified by the diagnosing fee to confirm both headlights were burnt out - in addition to $53 to confirm that was the issue, they wanted $175 PER LIGHT to replace - Midas on Frankstown Road was HALF that cost for the repair! We are so glad that we found Jeff and the Frankstown Road location - we hope that Midas appreciates this team as much as we do! read more
