This is the best place to get your car serviced or fixed. I was referred here by a friend a few years ago. Friends are friends for a reason because they care, and the people at this midas are exactly that, friends. they have always taken care of me. when I'm in a bind they help in all ways possible. My first fix was a clutch overhaul and they did a beautiful job. I came back to have the breaks done as well as several oil changes. Not only have they squeeze me in last minute, but they have had all jobs done super fast. Absolutely terrible service. Originally brought the vehicle in the first time because the battery light was on and then the vehicle died (just had a brand new battery put in beforehand), so I told them to take a look at it. They went ahead and took a look at it and told me it was a problem with the alternator. Had the alternator replaced and was told the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I arrived and went to turn the car on and the battery light was still on. I hop out of the car and tell them the battery light is still on and the gauge is low, they proceed to tell me that it is fine and the battery should charge. I say okay and take it off the lot, stop at a gas station and fill up my tank. Try to start my car and sure enough, it's dead. So I take it back another day since they are now closed at this time. So second time I bring it in they do exactly as they did the first time, they only checked the alternator and the battery. They swapped out the alternator and told me the alternator is good, and sure enough when I went to start the car the battery light is STILL on. I bring it to the managers attention who tells me the problem is that the battery is so dead it needs to be charged over night and also recommended that I take the battery back to where I bought it and to have it replaced. I get the battery replaced again and it temporarily fixed the problem but the battery light is STILL on. It dies again the very next day and I have to push my 3 ton vehicle through an intersection. At this point I've had enough of Midas being incompetent after both times I brought it there and took it somewhere else. This new mechanic finds the problem the first time I brought it in unlike Midas. The problem the entire time was a grounding wire from the alternator to the battery. Horrible customer service and HORRIBLE time management. I came in this morning at 730 am, right when they opened. Only one other person here at the same time, he got here 2 mins before me. I ask for a basic oil change and tire rotation, so does the other guy. It takes them 15 mins just to get my paperwork ready and get my info. At 745am, the guy helping me says the car will be ready "within 30 mins, 45 tops". It's 850 am and he's still working on the tire rotation, don't even think he's done the oil change yet. The guy who got here before me was in and out in 30 mins. There's 3 guys working here and I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY VEHICLE. Meanwhile, the guy I assume is the manager, has already taken 4 smoke breaks!!! Beyond angry. It's very simple, DO NOT QUOTE A TIME YOU CANNOT KEEP. Better yet, stop dicking around and do your job. There's 3 guys here, the shop was dead, it shouldn't take over an hour and a half to get a simple oil change and tire rotation. I am NEVER coming here again. read more

I went into this Midas location about a month ago. I felt like I got superior service and great advice. While I was there they advised me that I had a transmission leak. They don't do that kind of repair work there. The leak was small enough, fluid was not leaking on the ground. I took it to the dealership and it was fixed under warranty. They were awesome! They have earned my trust and business. I sent in a request to get an appointment set up in the morning, the website advised I would receive a response within 30 minutes. They responded back within 10 minutes of my request with an appointment time. This alone told me I found a great shop. I arrived to my appointment early, they got to work immediately, there were no delays. As they were doing the oil change, they did an inspection and found a nail in my rear tire (darn!). I sat for a bit and the new Manager Brent noticed me being uncomfortable with the wait and came to speak with me. I told him I was short on time and he made it work for me. Customer service? I took my vehicle in for a major repair after my vehicle overheated. I paid over $3,000.00 for repairs. When I picked up my vehicle, the inside of my vehicle was covered in rat feces. My car leaked oil. My engine cover was broken, and not fastened back to the engine, it was left unattached. It took several visits to correct this problem, and each time(as I was not a paying customer on warranty now) my car took several days. Each time I came back I complained my car idle would fluctuate and felt like it would stall. This was treated secondary and not fixed. I am now being told this is not covered under warranty and will be additional. My car ran very well prior to it over heating and I was promised with the money we were paying it would run like new. When I tried to communicate with staff on the problem, I was told excuses, like the oil was filled too much(my oil hasn't been changed since Midas changed oil) and this was the cause of it. I will be taking to Toyota for the repair to be diagnosed and taking further action. As I stated, the accelerator and idle were never the same after Midas repair. Car owners beware. read more

So I fell for a craigslist scam. Bought a car with a busted head gasket that was cleaned up to look like it was a normal car. It was of course a huge bummer but I had to take it somewhere close to get it confirmed that it was, in fact, a broken head gasket. We called and they said they could fit me in at some point during the day which was great considering I had no appointment and it was super last minute. So after I brought the car in, they called me back confirming I did buy a car that was of course broken and they were so incredibly nice to me on the phone. They really took care of me when I was having a terrible day. When I went to pay my bill they refused to let me pay for the diagnostic. I am a mechanic's daughter and have grown up in a shop. The scam I fell for was incredibly calculated and considering my knowledge of cars isn't that great, I did my best. A sign of a good shop isn't just in their work, but also in what kind of people they are. These guys are amazing people and I can never thank them enough. It really means a lot and I am extremely appreciative that they helped me in a time when I really needed something good to happen. read more

I decided to get my oil changed here recently because of some issues I've had with getting it done at the dealership (the cost and the hounding to buy a new car was driving me nuts!). I made an appointment online a week or two in advance for a Saturday morning. I was a little hesitant because of things I've heard about this location, but I've also heard it is under new ownership so I thought I'd give it a try. When I made my appointment my email "confirmation" said someone would contact me within an hour. I was never contacted. So I showed up at my selected time assuming that the contact I would receive back was "we have you booked, see you then" or something to that effect. They open at 7:30am and I was there about 8am. There was only 1 other person ahead of me. They took down all the same information I put in when I did the online booking so I'm now thinking the online system doesn't work very smoothly. I sat down to wait and about an hour later my oil change was done and my tires were rotated for me as well. They only found one problem with my car. My car is 8 years old, I'd be more suspicious if they didn't find a thing wrong based on how many headaches the car has given me. So they found the problem, and the tech came in and explained the problem to me very clearly and on terms I could understand. He never talked down to me and treated me with respect. I appreciate that. So based on this review so far you may wonder why I am giving 3 stars instead of 5? Why the loss of 2 stars? When you hover over the 4 star marker it suggests that 4 stars means "YAY! I'm a fan." I wouldn't call myself a fan yet. This place is A-OK though (the 3 star description). I'm cautiously optimistic. I would for sure come back and get serviced again. I asked about a few different services and they were up front and said if they could or could not do something. They could explain WHY they couldn't do it if they weren't able to. I appreciate that honesty. It makes me trust them a little more. The online booking process didn't go off as smoothly as I would've liked. Also, the bathroom could use a little touch up. It's not terrible, but it does need some attention. I've only been here once, I have very little history with them. That's why they are 3 stars right now, I'm hopeful they will be more to me in the future as I build a relationship and trust with them. If things go as nice and smooth as they have this past week then I can see them earning a 4-star review from me in the future. read more

ugg, 3rd bad experience out of 3 here. Doesn't that mean they struck out. 1st time went in to get an oil change and it took them 1 1/2. They wouldn't rotate my tires because the front were too bald, then the manager who is a jerk forced an upsell of a transmission flush on me, we agreed to 80 then he switched it to 85 and said no we agreed on 85. 2nd time I went for an oil change at 7:30 and they were suppose to open. Employees came to me and said the manger was going to be late and won't be there until 8:15 so I left. 3rd time went at 7:30 again was the only one there for 15 minutes. they said oil change would take 1 1/2 hours because of appointments even though they were sitting their for 15 minutes before the 1st appointment showed up. so they finished the oil change just over 1 1/2 hours, I go back home and noticed it's smoking a lot, open the hood and they didn't put back the oil cap so I had a huge puddle of oil on my garage and all over my engine. So took it back from them to clean, that took them 40 minutes to do. I asked the manager if they topped off the oil since it all went spraying all over the place, he snapped back at me and said not all your oil spilled out. I said duh but a lot did and I want to make sure it's full. He said anything else. I said yes you can give me a refund. he said for what, i said for wasting 1 1/2 hours of my time, the the oil on my garage floor, he said he couldn't give me a refund and needed to talk to the owner who wasn't there of course and was on vacation and didn't know when he would be back and reluctantly gave me the owners name, I said put a note in your system what happened, he said he did but not sure if I can believe that. I'm done with this place, not worth trying to save $10 on an oil change. The manager needs a real lesson in customer service and their employees need to step up their game and stop moving like sloths. read more

So my story starts about a month and half ago with a simple oil change and tire rotation. I dropped my car off and was told hour and half wait, no big deal I was leaving it there. I came back and picked up my vehicle and left. About a week later my CV Half Shaft went out and I went to fix it myself. When taking the tire off I noticed that the lugnuts all wear damaged and rounded off making taking the tire off quite difficult. Further inspection revealed that 4 lugnuts had had the crome cap taken completely off. Previously being in the mechanic field I check the torque of the lugnuts on all wheels and found them torqued to 190ft/lbs. My car's torque spec is 76 ft/lbs so this was an extreme over torque situation probably caused by using a impact gun and not hand tighten the lugnuts. So I contacted the store manager/owner who proceeded to argue with me and state that they couldn't even torque the lugnuts that high with their impact tools. So I took over my vehicle to him and showed him using my torque wrench that the wheels were indeed torque to 190ft/lbs. I also showed him the damaged lugnuts which he stated that he would only fix the damaged ones and would not replace all the lugnuts that he could fix himself. At this point I was frustrated that a mechanic shop couldn't do a simple oil and tire rotation job without messing it up. So I asked the owner to personally take care of this and he stated that he would fix it. So I drop off my car first thing in the morning on a Saturday. It tells me he has a lot of appointments but shouldn't be too long. Saturday afternoon about an hour before the shop closes he calls and says that its ready. I arrived and he tells me that he went ahead and replaced all the lugnuts to make me happy. I thank him and go on about my way. So that brings us to the present. On Saturday, March 16, 2013, I take my car to a local tire shop to have my tires replace. I get a call a couple hours later telling me the lugnuts that are on my car are the wrong style and are causing damage to the wheel lug holes. So I drive to the shop and sure enough the lugnuts that were placed on are acorn style and the vehicle clearly needs to had mag style lugnuts. I call the owner of Midas and explain the situation. He tells me that this little mom and pop shop is just trying to sell me lugnuts. I then went and showed the owner the lugnuts that is on the vehicle and the ones that are required for the vehicle. He then clearly sees that there is a huge difference. Just a little side note here this type of mess up can actually cause the lugnuts to not stay torque which could result in the wheel coming off while driving causing a accident with possibly injury/death. He then shows me that my vehicle calls for three different styles ranging from $1.99 a piece to $3.99 a piece. The ones that are required for my vehicle is the $3.99 a piece he placed the $1.99 on my vehicle. I asked him if he double checked the parts and he stated that it was towards the end of the day and I wanted to get it done so I just put them on, I did not check them to see if they matched. He then asks me to step inside the garage where he tells me I could tell you to just piss off right now and you would have nothing you could due. I told him that I would at that point contact Midas corporate and he stated good luck I'm privately owned. I then explained that then I would just contact a lawyer for the wheel damage and have those replaced if he didn't want to fix the problem. He then said that he wasn't going to eat it on the second time around so he would call his parts guy and I would have to wait till he got the lugnuts in. An hour and 45 mins later I had my lugnuts and returned to the tire shop and go the job completed. Word of caution if the manager/owner doesn't check anything over then more than likely neither does his employees. This is the last place I would take my vehicle to, to get service done. read more

He also dropped us off at home when our car had to be in the shop for 2 days. I would definitely go back to Midas and will continue to get all of my car repairs done there. read more

This is officially the only place my husband and I will bring our cars, and it is pretty far out of our way. The new owners are extremely knowledgable, honest, and hard-working- and there is no BS. I called around to different shops on November 28th 2014. And Midas Peoria had the best price for my problem. So a few days later I take my car in to get the water pump changed out after getting a 700$ quote.(car is over heating and pouring out antifreeze) After dropping my car off and meeting Tom the store manager I liked the vibe and left my car in their hands. 5 hours later I get a call that it is not my water pump it must be something else and they will figure ot out. Turns out it was according to them my thermostat. Which was 500$ to fix. So I said okay. They get that done do an oil change and I'm out the door by 6pm (they had my car since 7am) not even a week later my car is over heating and pouring out antifreeze once again. So I call Tom he said bring the car in, he has the mechanic look at it and says it's the radiator hose leaking its a 50$ fix I say okay do it. After getting the car home that same day car is pouring antifreeze in my drive way. So my husband buys a new radiator and changes it himself that was 120$ (which Midas tried to charge me 600$ for) that didn't fix my issue, car is still over heating I take it back to Midas and they say they bought a patch of bad thermostat and they will change it for free. They do that I go home car is still over heating and pouring antifreeze. Take the car back. They have it for 2 days they change out the thermostat 3 more times, put 3 different gaskets on the thermostat, "say" they changed the hoses to radiator but those haven't been touched, and then THEY broke the bleeder valve for the radiator which they want to charge me 200$ to fix. So I tell them to wrap up my car I'm coming to get it and I will fix the valve myself.when I get there I go inside to a rude Tom yelling at me because I won't let them fox it he won't give me any type of paper work showing what they did. So I get.my keys go to the car and notice that my back air bags are completely down and car is not in park. I air up my bags put car in park walk inside to talk Tom he tells me that he did all that work which was under warranty for free he's aloud to not put my car in park and play with my air bag system. He popped my air bag which was 80$ to fix at home. 43$ at AutoZone (turns out AutoZone has had multiple costumers come in because Midas broke their car parts and want to charge them for it). It is now 1/12/15 last time midas had my car was 1/13/2015 All in all my car still has the same issue I went into Midas for the first time. I am out nearly 900$ and I would honestly like my money back and will never do business with that location again!!!! read more
