We have taken multiple cars to this location. They have always treated us very fairly. The mechanics go over the car thoroughly and report the issues that they find. There is very little pressure to fix everything, they'll give you an itemized estimate of what it would cost to repair each issue. I have been a customer of Miidas on Quaker Road for about 5 years. We have two cars - a Subaru and a Volkswagen. The dealerships are virtually next door and across the street. We have found this Miidas team more than capable of doing the work we need - brakes, exhaust, oil changes, tune-ups, replacing seasonal tires, wiper blades and other repairs. They are easier to work with than the dealerships, also faster and less costly. I had an exhaust noise on the VW. Dropped it off, expecting to hear that I needed an expensive repair. They called an hour later, something was loose. Needed a new clamp. Amazing. Lastly, and this is very important: They communicate well! They call, they leave messages, they will even TEXT. Exceptionally friendly staff and a clean waiting room in both locations, and they don't just do work and not ask you if you want it done like OTHER facilities which I'll refrain from mentioning here. The staff alerted me to a problem with my tire inflation- which was previously handled by Monroe, who I have been going to for years. Made a believer out of me! Had an appointment for today at 12, called to change the appointment but due to scheduling issues told them I'll keep the appointment for today at 12. Then they tell me they might not be able to get me in today, so however that works. I explained that I had an appointment for 12, he said it might take 3-4 hours because of mistakes they made while scheduling. That's not how appointments work. If I hadn't called I would have been waiting there for 3-4 hours? read more

This is a tremendous repair shop! Midas of Queensbury is the ideal Auto Repair shop. Any shop, franchise or local, should heed their example of professionalism, courtesy, integrity, quality, and fairness of pricing. The shop had previously declined in quality due to a very rude and incompetent manager, who thankfully has been terminated. Presently a prospective customer gets to interact with Nicole and another nice gentlemen manager for whom I cannot recall the name. Nicole works the desk and is extremely cordial and informative. She also simply adhered to my repair request without the added pressure of upselling and promoting unnecessary services which is so commonly found amongst many franchise repair shops. The estimate provided prior to conducting my repairs was fair and accurate, the workmanship was excellent, and I am extremely happy with how it has improved my vehicles functioning. Far exceeding expectations. This Midas is located in a very convenient location for residents of Warren and Washington county to access. Also, the waiting room is the best one I have stayed in for an auto repair. Cable TV, free coffee, Restrooms, comfortable chairs, and free Wi-Fi are available while you briefly wait for your car to be ready. I was able to peacefully work on my laptop while the mechanics got the job done right. As much as this review may be perceived as a shameless plug. Know that I was very apprehensive and guarded about this Midas(and any auto repair shop) prior to my appointment with them. You see, I had recently suffered through the experience of a hack rip-off job from another local mechanic and arrived at my appointment with no tolerance for any semblance of BS. I was ready to promptly walk out the door if even the slightest bit of ambiguity, shadiness, or pressure sales occurred. Fortunately, I was extremely pleasantly surprised with the experience and I am comforted to know that I now have a high quality, reliable, and nationwide warrantied auto repair shop to do business with hopefully for years to come. The staff at the Queensberry MIDAS store are professional and helpful, the repairs to my truck was done promptly and all of my questions were answered, the store was clean and well keep when I was there. The owner of this franchise Store does not seem to care about his customers in Queensbury as much as he does his customers at his Albany store, there used to have a loaner vehicle for people that were having repairs done that would take a few days this is no longer true as the owner has moved the car a few years ago to the Albany store so that his customers in Albany would have that convenience, the Queensberry customers don't count as much. read more

We called and explained we had a situation with the brakes, and were losing brake fluid. We didn't have an appointment, but needed the car as soon as possible. Scott said to bring the car in. We did about 7:45 am. He said he would do a complete brake inspection, and give us a call. He called us a few hours later. He found the problem ( blown cylinder), gave us the price, and said it would take about two hours. He called us two hours later, said the car was ready. We picked it up. He explained what had happened that caused the issue. He was totally accommodating, totally professional, and very polite and courteous. We would definitely reccommend this business. Your company is famous for extorting money from people who need help. I had a punctured tire. I went to 2 shops before I went to midas who said they could fix the tire but wouldn't be able to for an hour and a half. I didn't mention this to see what midas would do for me since was trying to fix my tire immediately. Your mechanics thought I was in too much of a bind tried to force me into buying tires when I had a backup plan to get my tire patched. I went to midas trying to fix the problem immediately. I saw thier business practices had them take down my car from the lift. Went home ate a sandwich got my tire fixed from original shop up the road an hour later saving hundreds in unnecessary costs. I took my son in for brakes on his 2005 Chevy. After paying $67 for a list of recommended service which was just a glorified estimate to replace brakes all around for $940, we kindly passed on the service. The salesman/technician was trying to sell a lifetime guarantee more than a quality product. The privately owned, certified garage where we ended up completed all the work on Midas' list for $400 less. Lesson learned. read more

i called 3 places to have a tpms sensor replaced and got a quote of $90 - $110 so i figured everyone would be around the same... midas charged me $179 just for the valve. nevermind resetting the lights and everything.... the double charge for everything they do....... not pleased at all.... read more

In town for work at the hospital (cancer treatment) and had a flat off the northway. Unable to unload equipment to access spare, I had to call aaa. Not only did the tow truck driver get there 15 minutes before the estimate time, but Midas got me right in and didn't mess with 50 point check blah blah blah. They knew I had to be at GF hospital at 10am and handled it as fast as possible. Thanks guys. To other reviewers, you can actually talk to them and tell them what you want done or looked at. This is the worst place ever. Went to get new brakes, rotors, and tires. After going for three consecutive issues after the install was done, brakes still squeak and steering wheel vibrates. Would go back again to get it checked but they obviously don't have any clue what they are doing. I will never go back. read more

We always go here for our repairs oil changes and inspections for all cars. We have John and Ian Managers to assist us to explain and give reasonable prices. The time is sufficient and very friendly knowledgeable mechanics. Rarely have issues unless it's something I can't afford at the moment. They call with any promotions, they update you on repairs of needed during inspection before they finish. Many of my family and friends have been referred here and satisfied. Midas is an approved installer for Tire Rack(online tire sales) and Tire Rack guarantees install charges. Tire Rack DOES NOT guarantee that an install will actually occur. Went to Midas and asked if they would install on my 2011 MB SLK 300 and for the Tire Rack stated fees. The service rep said they would so install and on that assurance I ordered tires and specified delivery to the Midas and scheduled an appt for install. Upon arrival, and after tech moved the car to a service stall, I was informed the vehicle could not be moved onto the lift( to low). I inquired about a portable jack; nope, don't have one!! What reputable shop does not have a portable jack?? In any event I am left to seek out another installer and to transport tires to a location willing and able to do install. A provider of automotive services should know what services they can perform; and on which vehicles they can service. Won't be back!!! read more
