Just left here I needed summer tires put on my car I went here and the guy Chris was nice told me to come back tomorrow which is today 8/25/23 dropped off car with expectations once speaking to Midas my tire install was 120.00 because I was quoted 29.99 a tire dove Rhonda for four tires is 119.99 Walmart same when I arrived back he told me it was 188 and some change because I had low pro tires I explained that was not accurate and because tire size isn't a difference any where. Anyways I confronted this thief and he brought it down to 163.00 which is still ridiculous just want people to be aware this place is a scam and I will put them on blast and go above him. Went in for a simple oil change the district manager gave me for free to get me coming back for service. They didn't do any other inspection to let me know if any other issues that I had, which I would've expected that as a courtesy lower ball joint was bad and I knew it didn't tell me. So today I accidentally put bad fuel in my PICKUP and attempting to change the oil in my driveway to get it so I don't ruin the engine with potential gas contamination in the oil and I can't get the oil plug out because they overtorqed it, probably stripped it out in the pan. If this is the service they want me to come back for I will gladly pass. read more

I was traveling through Rochester from out of town and my car developed a pretty noticeable clunking sound. Was on my way to Cleveland and felt I'd better get it checked out. Jacob got my car in right away and the crew went over it meticulously and diagnosed the problem. They didn't charge me a cent and wouldn't let me pay them anything even though they spent a considerable amount of time and effort looking the vehicle over. They were going to fix the issue that afternoon but the parts weren't available - but the fact that they were willing to do so was impressive. I highly recommend this garage! read more

First let me say I am a long time customer at this location and I have spent thousands per year for many years. Keeping up a number of vehicles. Let me also say this store is no longer owned by the same people and none of the same people work here anymore. In short, this store tried to rip me off of 1100. I needed a parking brake repaired. They told me it would be $1,100 to fix. They could only get the part from Volvo. I asked them after declining to pay $1100 to fix a parking brake. Exactly what part was broken. They told me the foot mechanism that you push down to apply the parking brake. I decided to take a look at it and see if it was something I could fix myself. Come to find out the cable was just disconnected I reattach the cable adjusted tension and it works perfectly fine when confronted the store manager said it was just misdiagnosed . I had to have my car towed here. I was given an estimate of almost $1,200 in repairs. So I had the car towed to my old garage (who I went to for years prior to moving to Rochester) who did it for less than $450. That alone makes me never want to go back. But the service was even worse. When the tow truck was on its way to get my car, I called Midas to confirm that everything was all set. They assured me it was. But then come to find out they turned the tow truck away because I owed $142 for a diagnostic fee. Why didn't anybody tell me that when I called specifically to confirm that I was all set and there was nothing else I needed to do? So Midas said that they would call the tow truck company and get them to come back and get my car, which was a nice gesture. I called a half hour later to confirm that they had connected with the tow truck company and that everything was all set. Again, I was assured everything was all set. But at this point, I was less trusting of Midas, so I called the tow truck company myself after an hour. Surprise surprise, Midas dropped the ball again. Turns out the tow truck company told Midas that I was the one who had to make the request for the tow truck to come back. This was insanely frustrating because I had called Midas specifically to check that they connected with the driver and that the tow truck was on its way back. I was assured that everything was all set. If I hadn't called, the car would be sitting at their garage for who knows how long. What should've taken just a few minutes took me 3 hours to deal with and clean up after Midas. Every step of the way, there was either incompetence, laziness, maliciousness, or some combination. I will never be coming back here and recommend that you don't either. Edit: I reached out to Midas (per their instructions in the response to this review) so they could "contact me directly." However, it's been almost 3 weeks and I still haven't heard anything. read more

I ran over a nail on a Saturday and being out of state and on a holiday weekend Chris saved my day. After calling multiple places and getting nowhere I finally called Midas in Rochester. I can't thank Chris enough for squeezing me in on a busy Saturday and taking care of my tire. I drove back home to Boston with 3 kids with total confidence. Update (2/16): I felt it fair to update this review to two stars and acknowledge that after reporting my experience to Midas customer service and leaving several 1 star reviews I did receive a phone call from the district manager who apologized and refunded my oil change. In addition, they promised to do my next oil change for free if I return. While I can't see myself returning to this particular location, I do respect their decision to do the right thing and the commitment to good customer service -- I would consider going to another Midas location in the future. College students, women and anyone else worried about being taken advantage of -- spend your money literally anywhere else!!! This place scammed me unbelievably and the only person I am more mad at than the workers here is myself for being dumb enough to pay for the service I received. I was in a pinch for time and came to Midas because I thought they were supposed to have good service and the location was convenient. I was charged $128 for an oil change -- more than double than I have ever paid anywhere else. When I asked why, I was condescended to and told it was because I got synthetic oil (my last oil change was also synthetic, and only $60). On top of this I was recommended I plan for a future $1200 service that my car does not need. After my service I started my car and saw that my oil light was still on, so I immediately went back inside and let the manager know. After the price, I had a bad feeling about the whole thing that I should have trusted. They told me to wait outside, and I proceeded to stand in the freezing whether while they attempted to reset my car for 25 minutes. Then, after being "unable to figure it out" they told me if I drive long enough, it should go away as sometimes "the key just needs to turn a certain amount of times for the car to reset". The next morning the light was still on, and concerned, I asked a worker at another auto shop to take a look while I was buying a new breaklight. The worker confirmed that I was massively overcharged in his opinion, and that a good mechanic would have told me to get conventional oil for my model, lowering what should have been the cost even more. Furthermore, he told me the reason he nor nobody else could reset my oil light was because my car was still short a significant amount of oil (3-4 quarts) and that I was scammed. He felt very bad for me and filled the oil to the proper amount. Then, surprise surprise, my oil light instantly went out after driving my car for all of a minute or two. On top of all of this, they never even bothered to put a new sticker, the bare minimum. The workers at this Midas either like to take advantage of young women who are working during college and don't have money to spare or they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I will never recommend Midas to anyone unless I am refunded my money for this absolutely botched service. read more

I had to stop here during a snow storm driving back home to MA. The check engine light was on and I was losing acceleration. The guys were so kind, helpful and understanding. They brought my car right in to be checked out, fixed the problem and had me back on the road within an hour! I went to Midas in Rochester NH to have an exhaust leak checked and fixed. I have had repairs on the exhaust done there in the past. The mechanic said they could not cut out the flex pipe which was leaking and weld a new one in without changing two other flanges and also the front wye pipe which comes off the front manifold. They gave me an estimate of $850. It also wouldn't be done until the next day. I went to Meineke right down the road and they looked at it and said it could be cut out and fixed within the hour, which it was. There price was $185. There hourly labor rate was also cheaper than Midas. Friendly people and quality work. I won't go back to Midas. read more

Took my focus in because i had a coolant leak i could not find myself due to the small amount of space fgord crams everything into and the fact that there was coolant everywhere so hard to find its origin. Before arriving i stopped into a small garage who i also think highly of. He was very busy but offered a quick look and thought it was a hose that had worn. He showed me and i agreed it could be but the way the coolant leaked i was skeptic so took it for a second opinion. The folks at midas took the time to clean up what they could and found that it was the water pump leaking which i suspected was the issue he showed me tue problem aswell as reccommended other items that should be repaired without just stating they had to be like most do especially dealerships. Gave me a fair quote and didnt charge me a anything for his 20-30 min diognosis i couldnt be happier. I would have scheduled the work but i have a warranty that must be filed with the garage i purchased the cehicle from. Thankyou midas read more

HORRIBLE, stay away at ALL costs!!! I went in to have a simple state inspection on a fairly new car because they advertise $29.95 and an hour later they come up with a report with $1,000 worth of work!!! The car is only 4 years old and maintained very well by meself. The tech failed the inspection because a lower ball joint had a "very little amount of play" but he could not show me because it was so small. I told him that I should see wear on my tire if the ball joint was bad but he assured me "not always". And the classic "we can do the work right now since you're already here" and get you out quickly. Other things were $200 transmission service that was "highly recommened". My bad, taking a car to a place that is in the business of doing small jobs like this but come on Midas, don't talk to me like I'm dumb. I hear these guys are trained to do this to women and elderly folks and I can only guess that the techs are probably commissioned but please....... STAY AWAY, these guys are crooks....... read more

I started going to this Midas when I needed to get my exhaust checked out. The problem I had was due to a clamp that they tightened pro bono even after I insisted to pay them. I continue going here for most of my service, and have been impressed with the detail they provide when discussing any issues and how they were fixed.
