I had my car serviced by this location back in November 2023. They said the brake pads and my alignment needed to be fixed. They did the services and WOW I was not expecting the price tag. I figured well maybe this is the price everywhere (Since buying the car in 2018 I haven't had either of these services done). I had to return twice for them to replace the left strut due to the part they used having a "manufacture defect". TWICE. I chose the more expensive parts since I drive all of socal for work on a day to day basis and need my car to be reliable and they still had to be replaced twice. As for my brakes, I have had to bring my car back three times now because of the grinding noise. The first time all they did was clean it. The second time they actually replaced it. All was good up until a week ago when the grinding sound is back and sounds like my brakes want to give up at any moment. I came in first thing Saturday morning to have it looked at. The manager informed me that they cant do anything because they dont hear a sound. Well guess what, there is in fact a sound! The only thing they wanted to do was keep my car and waste my gas driving it around to see if a sound would appear for them. I work saturdays so this was not an option. He could honestly care less about the work they do there. Truthfully based on my experience and the other reviews, he possibly just doesn't like women. I have contacted corporate about this and am hoping to get a refund for the service that has been botched and looked over. read more

Went in for multiple things. Got them all fixed after a few calls and updates. Their service is good. But a little shady... They gave a quote, but the price didn't make sense. The labor cost was more than twice the amount of what the parts were even worth. We finally agreed with a price over the phone, but when I went in the front desk guy that called me feigned ignorance and said he never agreed to that price. That it was his mistake, maybe he misheard. He was on speaker and my wife and I heard him loud and clear to what price was agreed on. Sure mistakes happens, but this is sounding a little familiar. When I initially came in someone called saying that the front desk guy offered them $X price for this service. But when the bill came, guess what, same thing, he never agreed to that price, normal price is $Y. I'm was a returning customer. They fixed my car multiple times. I started bringing my wife's car for everything too. Anthony and Ruben were great before, but man, this just seems shady now. Update. Told my wife about this post. She also recalls taking her car in previously for an oil change, someone else came in with lights on his dashboard and needed it reset, they said they would take care of it for free. Relative went to get his catalytic converter replaced about a week before giving it to me as a gift. Ruben fixed it, but did not bother to give him the paperwork or instruction necessary so it could pass a smog check. I had to call and have them email me the paperwork. Anthony, one of the managers, asked me to give him an hour to email the paperwork... after 2 hours without receiving an email, I had to call back to find out they sent it to some other email other than mine. I had to call back about 4 or 5 times and ask for Anthony only to hear "He stepped out," or "He's unavailable," or some other dumb answer. 4+ hours later, I still have not resolved this issue which should have been solved a week ago which is the very same day they fixed the catalytic converter. Rubén, Anthony, and Víctor really know how to waste your time, so I wouldn't suggest doing business here. read more

I bought a truck in October and the guy I bought it from claimed he just replaced the brakes yet they were squeaking miserably. So I brought it in to this Midas to have it checked out fully willing to pay for new brakes if it solved my issue. Left the truck for an hour and a half. Got a call it was ready & went to check it out. The rep told me that they checked all 4 brakes and rotors and that they were good to go, that I just had loud pads. Okay. Cool. Fast forward about 6 months, I lived with the squeaking. I'm getting ready to make a long drive to Idaho with a trailer full of stuff, and praise God It started squeaking a little louder before I got on the road. Took it to another shop and had them check it out. In 45 minutes they had discovered that whoever installed the brakes did them incorrectly, and put two outside pads on one side of the car and two inside pads on the other side of the car. This in turn caused the pistons to burn a hole into them destroying them, and consequently destroying all the pads and rotors. I know Midas didn't install the pads, and I put no fault on them for that. But I trusted you guys to point out any issues and you guys overlooked what is now costing me WAY more money in replacing half of my brake system. You guys were friendly and communicative, but at the end of the day what I'm paying for is a job done well, and job done right. I'm really disappointed. read more

I had to have some roadside service today. I was expecting some with a van full of goods such as a new battery. Instead, I was sent a tow truck that jumped my car and charged me $165 for the privilege. The guy seemed to think I needed a new battery and I called Midas and spoke to Jeffrey who graciously allowed me to come over immediately to have my battery checked. I could not believe it. Since when does a car service place do things like this? I explained I had been in the hospital for 2 weeks and had only today attempted to drive my car and I had an important doctor's appointment this afternoon. It was around 1 PM when I spoke with him, drove straight there and Jeffrey took my car in right away. He tested the battery and the alternator. Within 20 minutes I had a new battery and a request from Jeffrey to come back after my appointment as he wanted to double-check the alternator. He was extremely courteous and thoughtful. A guy in a pickup truck parked in the handicapped spot with the benefit of a decal or placard and Jeffrey rousted him right out. I was impressed. As a person with a placard, I was happy to see this. When I was leaving, I was struggling to get my rolling walker into the back seat and a different Midas employee saw me and stopped what he was doing to help me out. I should have known I was in good hands as soon as I walked in as there was a cooking show on the TV and Jeffrey admitted when I asked that he is a fan of cooking shows. It would not be possible to have a better car repair experience. I wish I could give them 100 stars. My car situation was the 5th crisis in as many days. I was happy to give Midas my money as this was the first time one of the crises was resolved in less than 30 minutes. Thank you. read more

Long wait time. Review update: we have been giving this place many chances since our initial visit for a long wait time but are very disappointed. On the midas website, we took a printed coupon that states $24.99 for a conventional oil change. It was valid and specifies the exact location. When arrived the employee I believe Ruben said they don't accept it and it's "corporate " only. After showing the employee that it's valid and says right on the coupon that it's for their location, they said that my vehicle only takes synthetic oil. I showed them my previous receipt that shows that it's conventional oil. They still refused to change my oil with the coupon. I would have expected them to honor the valid coupon especially since I am a long time customer. Now, will never go back here again. Called to get a quote 12/23 for a synthetic oil change on a Lexus rx350. Not only are they significantly cheaper than other competitors such as jiffy lube, Evans tires, valvoline etc. my car takes 5.8 quarts of oil and the oil change only comes with 5 quarts so everywhere charges additional. My total for a full synthetic oil change at 5.8 quarts with a $20 coupon was only $89. I called ahead to make an appointment as they were busy for the holiday got same day appointment. Showed up at 3 for appointment and was done by 3:45. Service was fast and super friendly. Would definitely recommend. read more

I should have written this way sooner! Let me begin by saying I love this Midas and I love the staff. They are amazing people and I really felt like my safety was their top priority. I've been using Midas since I got my first vehicle in 2016, usually for just simple things like brakes and oil changes. I've now brought in 3 vehicles. This review being mainly about my second vehicle which was having all sorts of issues. It's a Jeep Compass Lat. A few weeks ago, I brought my car in for a simple look over. They took a look at it and Ruben let me know what was wrong (a whole list from oil pan replacement to shocks leaking to tire replacement) and what my options were, then he helped me to get the financing To cover the costs. It ended up being over $2000 for everything so financing was the way to go. They spent hours fixing my car and had even stayed late (I can't thank you enough!). After picking up my car, I noticed that she was still having the same issue and turned right back around and dropped it off. The next morning, they took a look at it again and found out what the original problem was (front a arm needs replaced). They gave me a really good deal and I will be replacing both front ones there, soon. A few days later, my transmission blew. I had my car towed there, after hours, and sent them an email explaining what had happened. As soon as they opened the next day, they took a look at it. Ruben then helped me find a shop that would fix it. He called multiple shops and found me the best price, he ordered a tow for me so I wouldn't have to worry about working that in around my schedule, and through it all, he dealt with my stress and my multiple phone calls (I am so sorry for the back and forth) and he was just so amazing. I've been able to contact them with any questions or concerns I have and have had them be very helpful and knowledgeable. Two days after all of the repairs took place, I had my fiancé bring in his Toyota and they fixed the issue within and hour. We had it looked at by mechanics in the past to have them tell us that it could be a number of things without really knowing while they found the issue immediately and fixed it. (Loose bolt on the a arm if I remember right.) They saved us a lot of money. They are all hard working and very good at what they do. People at the desk are very nice but don't let that fool you. I took my car in to check the brakes. They said I needed new pads/rotors on front and back brakes. I got a second and third opinion at two other shops and they said the front brakes were great. As if lying to me wasn't bad enough, my car was dead when I picked it up because they had left the headlights on for a couple hours. I need a new headlight and they quoted me $250 where others said $60-150. And it gets worse, when I picked up my now dead car I had a new warning light on my dash that I've never seen before about the airbag. This shop literally returned my car to me dead and worse than I left it. I've wasted time and now money to get a new battery. Do your due diligence and get other opinions. People take advantage of those less knowledgeable, especially if you're a woman. read more

Came in to request an inspection and estimate on services that needed to be done. Mind you, I had already gotten an estimate somewhere else. Frank the G.M added spark plugs needing replacement within my request. Funny because those were replaced as soon as my car hit the 100,000 mile mark. He says the reason for such a high estimate was because the other place didn't include a part where it most needed to be done. But in fact, they did. From my knowledge he added spark plugs into the bill and tried to charge it off as a major part my car needed. Shady business. I'm a girl majoring in mechanical engineering and I play dumb to see whether they really are honest or not. Definitely stay away. I want to say that I had exceptional service at Midas on Convoy this week, Oct 27, 2022. Weds morning, a day earlier at 4:30 am my 2014 Prius Hybrid was aggressively stripped of its Catalytic Converter while parked in front of my house. Our neighbor woke up and yelled at them through her window, but they scurried off like the villains they were with my precious auto part. I noisily drove my car over to Midas, quite devastated. I want to say that Anthony J, the manager went into swift action on my behalf. He called all around locally and in Calif. It took him about half a day on the phone. He was able to find a new converter for me up in Oceanside. My Insurance agent had told me that some people are waiting for 3 months for one. I drove my car home later in the late afternoon. Drew, the General Manager, is awesome! I had to get my brakes replaced recently and went there to get them fixed. Talk about someone who really gets to know his customer before, during, and after the work has been completed. He gave me all the details and asked me questions to find out what needed to be done and if I had thought about doing other work since the mileage was higher. We got used to the typical things you would hear and be wary of any unnecessary upsells. We would always do our research ahead of time to see if it would match up with what they would quote. Jump ahead to now, I have moved on to a better car. I'm running into an issue with an ignition coil misfiring. Now we head in to Midas and we speak to the super friendly and helpful Christian. He nailed the diagnosis and was very "to the point" while maintaining expert customer service. He checked in on some concerns with the car and instead of forcing recommendations, he gave us options. I took my GTI to Midas because it had a small oil leak..tHey raised it up and pointed to cracked oil Pan..I couldn't see any crack due to the oil covering it but took pics of what he was showing me, went and bought my own replacement parts at VW for $400 and let them do the work for $500. When I got home I noticed they had left the old parts in the trunk..upon inspection the oil Pan was perfect!..no crack! I went back to Midas with the old part in hand..yelling..he finally gave me a refund on the labor portion, but out the cost for parts and entire day of my husband and I running around town for parts, waiting etc! This place can't be trusted! They used to be good a few years back..seems to be new owner/mgmt or something..I'll never go back! read more
