Pleasantly surprised! I have always been a little hesitant of vehicle maintenance shops but this one made me re-think that. I received a quote in advance online for front brakes and was able to compare shop quotes and make an appointment online. Larry and the group that were there that morning were very nice, explained what was what and kept me updated. I did wait a few hours for the brakes to arrive but it gave me time to "relax" for a bit. I brought my car in for a oil change and some brakes $1400 later my car was broken and Midas did nothing. I tried taking my car back to Midas and they refused to look at it. I reached out to there corporate office and nothing was done. If you are a black young female do not take your car to Midas. They will take your money and break your car. they will get away with it because they are not held accountable for their actions. read more

The service was really great and everyone that works there is super nice. The pricing is great and don't have any complaints There's no pressure to add things you don't want or need. I noticed a lot of people like to go to them so the earlier you get there the better . We got there in the morning and it didn't taken long but it's first come first serve so if you get there in the middle of the day when everyone's there you might have a little wait . read more

I've been coming here for years, always make a weekday appointment. They are usually very good and timely. The last few times I have shown up for my appointment, there is an hour plus wait before they get started and another 30-45 minutes to do the work. I just went down the street. Done in 10 minutes. I never have a good experience with auto repair, which is why I just don't bother review them, but this actually warrants one. My car was having trouble starting for a few days and it was getting progressively worse. It was at a point where I could not get the car to start up in the parking garage at my job one morning (which is by the way, one hour from my apartment, so it was getting serious), so I knew I needed my car looked at STAT. I called the dealer where I normally go and could not get an appointment until one week later, but with the way my car was functioning, I knew I didn't have a week. I called Midas and right away that day they were able to take me. I described my issue and thought for sure it was the starter. They kept in contact with me and asked questions about my car during the diagnostic and were able to tell me it was the ignition, not the starter. They told me the car would be ready by the next morning. What I liked about this place was that they kept me updated and were pretty accurate about timeframe on when things would get done, which is very important for me because I am so busy. My car is pretty much my life and I was glad this little place was able to help me keep it moving. read more

Stay FAR AWAY! These people screwed my wife over. They used lithium grease on the calipers and over tightened our lug nuts. Went to get new tires today and 8 out of 10 lugs on our front wheels spun and needed to be replaced. read more

This guy is both incompetent as well as a scammer. Tried to charge us $900 for a $50 problem that I ended up fixing myself because after we paid the problem was still not fixed. If I could give this shop negative stars I would. Car mechanics are known to rip people off, but this one was the worst I've ever seen. It was also my experience that I had to bring my vehicle back multiple times for the same problem because they couldn't get it right. I honestly don't feel like typing out my entire story but I do know if you're reading this please do NOT go here! They had my vehicle for over 2 weeks for a simple power steering pump and alternator, the power steering pump is faulty now because the owner decided to put the wrong fluid in it. He would not give me my money back and I had to go through cooperate to do so, he openly admitted to me he let it overheat because he didn't "believe" the gauge without even diagnosing it. Will be seeking further legal action since he caused more damage than what I originally paid him for. read more

I went in at 9 AM for new brake pads and rotors for my car and the service was excellent. I was able to pick up my car by 1:00 that day and my brakes are perfect. This is the ONLY place I'm ever bringing my car from now on! I've been to I don't know how many shops, and this is the only one that has been consistently friendly, courteous, had excellent service and great people working there. I had the unfortunate experience of buying a bad used car that needed just about everything replaced. Other shops I've been to have charged me WILD prices and haven't been overly friendly or made me feel very welcome and frankly none of the employees looked like they wanted to be there. At this Midas, everyone was incredibly nice, super fast and efficient and the prices were so much more reasonable than everywhere else I'd been. The manager, Ron, was at the front of the shop and he was very attentive and helpful, especially given that I know next to nothing about what's going on with my car, and both times I've been in, the two service techs (Jahaira and Joey) let me watch them in the shop and explained everything to me and answered all of my questions (even the really dumb ones that proved I know how to turn my car on and that's about it...!) I've been in twice now for repairs, and will DEFINITELY be back for everything I still need fixed, like air conditioning and new tires and a thousand other things. I've told every person I know who's talked about getting ripped off at their mechanic that they need to go to this Midas to get taken care of. This is the only place I will ever have enough faith in to bring my car in to again. read more

DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE. Literally go anywhere else!! The owner of the store, Marcus, is a professional con artist who thinks he's invincible. Either they misdiagnosed my problem and "fixed" the wrong thing, or they knew exactly what they were doing by replacing something that wasn't broken because they could collect more money on that part instead of fixing the actual problem. My car broke down late Friday night and I took it here on Saturday morning. They had it all weekend, going back and forth telling me I needed different things for the car; spark plugs, valve cover, brake pads, tires, etc. I insisted I only needed to get the car in running condition again, and that was my only concern right now. The final diagnosis was that my valve cover "had a big crack in it" and that was causing the problem. I agreed to pay their $550 quote (originally they wanted $759) for a new valve cover only if they could assure me that it would fix the car, which they said it would. When I went to pick up the car I was shocked to find it in the same undrivable condition. They then changed their story claiming they never promised the new valve cover would fix the car! Lies lies lies! So they did absolutely nothing to fix the car although they still took my money and were still trying to get even more! They started telling me that it needed other parts as well, and if I brought it back in the next day they would give me a discount on the installation of those parts. Riiiiight. I went to another mechanic who verified that the $500 part they replaced was just fine and didn't need to be replaced! (They also overcharged me $200 on that part -- shocker) Here's the kicker: The only thing the car actually needed was an ignition coil that literally can be installed in under 60 seconds and costs $43. I'm sure I am not the only person this has happened to at this place. I will be seeking legal action against this Midas location. read more

So in the midst of our journey alllll the way up to Carrollwood for some BBQ, we start seeing steam/smoke arising from the hood of our(her) minivan, which isn't normal. We pull over and discover the radiator reservoir is half full, and there is fluid all over the inside of underneath the hood. Instantly we realize that we need to get this fixed QUICKLY. I called Dodge and was told that if I brought in my vehicle that day, they "MIGHT be able to look at it" since I couldn't get an appointment for days due to them being booked. Because I've had previous experience with them that taught me that an appointment was pretty meaningless, I knew it would be infinitely worse without one. This was for my grand caravan(former actually. See Kuhn Honda review), which means kids, which means we don't have time to leave my vehicle anywhere while waiting for repairs. Enter Midas, where over the phone Marcus was attempting to diagnose and give estimates as I told him what was going on, which was exactly what I wanted to hear. I brought it in minutes later and he figured out the problem quickly(hoses & assembly). I laughed inside as he sounded very sympathetic/disappointed that it would take him the rest of the afternoon, which I guess he assumed would be too long for my preference. I happily left it with them, as this meant that we'd have it back in time to pick up the kids, and more importantly I wouldn't have to cancel my fishing trip the next morning. We were almost home after a nice lunch at Holy Hog(see separate review), and a stop at another store when my phone rang with them telling me that it was done. The work was done correctly and is still holding up as far as I know(the van has since been traded in due to age and multiple repairs such as this one), and I'm fine with the price I paid. He even gave a discount when I asked about one for military, which he said they don't have. I've always trusted Midas since they've worked on this and my other vehicle all over the US, and I'll continue to trust this one when needed. read more

Great service at very fair price. I helped move my daughter to the area and needed to get her rotors replaced in a pinch. I am a bit of a shade tree mechanic and would have done this job myself if I were home with my tools and work area. Midas quoted a fair price and did an excellent job. In fact I was so impressed with their service I had them do additional work we needed. This shop is now our go-to shop in Tampa. read more

I've never written a yelp review before but I just had such an amazing experience here I felt like I needed to let others know about it. Today in the morning my dad saw a nail that was stuck in his rear tire as he was putting in air. This was a pretty big setback, since the whole family was together and we were just about to go on a family trip, so we needed to leave quickly. We saw the Midas store and went in and they said that they'd be able to take a look at the car in as short as 10 minutes, and that repairing the tire would take around half an hour. After around half an hour one of the guys came in (I should've asked for his name, he was so nice and helpful, as was everyone in the shop I talked to) and handed a small nail to my dad and said "you're lucky, it didn't go in!" He told us how the nail had actually been jammed into the tread of the tire and that if we hadn't come in as early as we did it might've pierced through. After he left to go back into the shop, one of the ladies who had been waiting with us in the waiting room turned to us and said "that's why I come here, and have been coming here for the past three years. Any other store would've just said 'we fixed your tire!' and left it at that, but they told you the truth here." In addition to all of this, when we went back out to our car and my dad asked how much, they said we didn't need to pay! Then they wished us a happy new year and told us to come again and that air is always free there! What an amazing crew of people, and they definitely saved our family new year plans. I just felt so amazed and happy about this experience that I felt like I had to tell others about it. I hope others go to this Midas store, because these guys are just amazing and so nice and helpful. Overall, just a great experience and 120% recommend, you won't regret it! read more
