BEWARE. AVOID ALL CROWN DEALERSHIPS IN ST PETE FLORIDA NO MATTER THE MAKE OF YOUR CAR. ALL CROWN DEALERSHIPS ARE RUN BY SCAM ARTISTS & SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED. Crown Honda is very shady. Another review had the same thing happen to them a month ago: They deliberately unscrewed several of the tire wheel lug bolts (a couple were missing) so that you would come back the next day after an oil change here thinking there was something wrong with the car and they quoted $2700 to fix it. There is nothing wrong with the vehicle before the oil change. As we left from the oil change, not too far away, the car felt a little wobbly like the tires were going to come off. It was kind of very scary, we had to pull over almost got into a car accident. We went to get a second quote elsewhere the auto body place at the second quote noted that there would be no reason for the lug bolts to be this loose & even couple missing and they asked us where we had our last car service and we told them it was at Crown Honda for oil change. Which they confirm Crown has shady business practices to gauge money out of their customers. This really confirms this place is an extremely shady place. The trauma thinking something was severely wrong with the vehicle. We were very scared. We will never be bringing a vehicle there ever again OR to any Crown owned dealership. We will never bring them to a CROWN dealership ever again. Once we got the lug bolts tightened at the 2nd auto-body place where we got the second quote there has been no issues with the car so this proves that Crown Honda is extremely a very shady place. All the car needed was lug bolts tightened, and a couple new ones put on because there were two randomly missing after we left for an oil change at this very shady Crown dealership. I purchased my second CRV at this Honda instead of the one in Clearwater that place is terrible. It has been serviced there a couple times but yesterday beats all. My other half went online and put in the wrong date to be serviced and it really needed the AC taken care of due to my daughter with a disability. They fit me in and also helped me by seat covers cuz I have been trying cuz I have leather seats and been looking everywhere and bingo there they were nice comfy seat covers because I have all around airbags so they're not easy to find and they also install them for me and now my vehicle is ready to pick up. I'm so happy the ladies in the department in there along with Thomas who was my person to deal with me lol and my issues and I even told them they can keep it until the next day if needed being that they took me right away. I have never dealt with more pleasant service people in my life. And I was advised to never buy their bumper to bumper warranty but I did and it has helped me twice already so I'm so glad I spent that money. They lost one of my tire caps too! Don't go there!! As a single widowed senior I was nervous about buying my first car without a man. After all we hear horror stories about unscrupulous salespeople. But not here. It ended up being fun. Actually enjoyed it. Why is that? First ask for Enver. Awards line this guy's office. He obviously loves his job and takes pride in helping people find the right vehicle for them. From the moment I met him he tuned into what I wanted. Including my price point. He listened carefully and showed me a Civic which was a cute car with lower mileage. I wasn't buying new. As I was imagining myself in a Civic my eyes landed upon a HR-V EX. Oh my. It was love at first sight. Lower miles too and a year newer. I had 2 guy friends in other states (OR and CO) who spoke to us on speakerphone while we sat inside the car. They grilled him. He didn't flinch because he answered all of their concerns and questions honestly. Then we went for a test drive. That sealed it for me. I always write lists before any major purchase or decision and the car purchase was one. Guess what? I got EVERYTHING on my dream list. Ya I am a girl. I wanted a stereo system and a moon roof. Remember my friends had figured out the mechanics and reviews so I was free to dream on. Even the color. I wanted a dark color and it's black. This thing is so loaded that I came back a week later and Enver sat with me in my car snd showed me how to operate it all. He actually told me to call him if I ever had a concern no matter where in the US I was. Seriously I feel blessed that it was him that I got to work with. I will say that every employee there seems happy. Happy employees make for a positive experience. I believe they are family owned. Plan on spending time with paperwork but he sat me down in his office with a coke and did all the footwork. He explained everything to me. In terms this gal could understand. I also want you to know at the very end that I was taken to another office and offered an additional plan. My car comes with 100,000 mile or life limited service plan already. I was so tired by then that I was upset at this juncture. I couldn't do one more thing. So guess what? Enver rescued me. Highly recommend. And why not work with the best salesman imo. First I'd like to say I've never waited so long for a simple oil change. I can go to Take 5 and get it done in 10 min. Even with a tire rotation, it takes another maybe 5-10 min. Also, they don't give you the best deal in town on a new or used car. Trying to manipulate you by saying "sign this and you are committed to this % or price" very manipulative tactics when that means absolutely nothing but to guilt trip a customer. You lost my business immediately after that. If you buy a car here, I can almost guarantee, you're not getting a good deal. PS. I'm very happy with my service at Crown Honda. Michelle Dessert is always super communicative throughout the process. Most of the time my service takes just a few hours so I work from one of their work stations (and drink a bunch of their coffee) or I've also walked to the Walmart next store to get a few errands out of the way. One of the service advisors even helped me empty my cart into my trunk and then walked the cart back to Walmart for me. Update: So after we dropped it off the second time it ended up taking 4 days to fix and a price of $1300 - $200 for the work done that didn't fix it last time. The car is a hybrid so I expect some things to be pricey to repair but nevertheless that was a shock. And the car is old enough now that everything except the battery is out of warranty. Maybe I shouldn't have hung up on the robots calling to sell me an extended warranty? Either way so far so good. No new lights since yesterday. I think they topped off our gas too but it's hard to remember with the car being gone all week. Bottom line is they made it right even though it still ended up be pricey as I feared. You can make your own call about going to the dealer for repair work but sometimes you just have to..... Great place to buy a car. Just don't get it serviced here. I paid extra for certified pre owned only to find out the warranty doesn't cover safety issues. I brought my car in and Zach said it was covered but it was too busy to do that day but made an appointment and after having my car the entire day, Damaira told me it wasn't covered and would cost me over a thousand dollars. The the service manager Matthew said he tried to resolve it but I waited too long (2 weeks. And 2 hurricanes) The service department is a total scam and the dealership clearly makes it's money on ripping people off in the service department. He came up with most excuses that he doesn't control Carfax and he only go by what the Carfax say. But he had a complete print out of all the damages purposely failed to update the website to show the damages. But he wants to pass it off as it it was factory. In early January, my wife and I did our own exhaustive research online and located the exact vehicle we wanted, which happened to be in stock at this dealer. Due to COVID, we were unable to travel to FL and asked the dealer if it was possible to handle all of the paperwork remotely. "Absolutely" we were told (of course; anything to get you in the door). Because we are located out of state, the dealer has to send the paperwork to our tag/license office directly in order for us to register the vehicle. Paperwork was signed and returned on January 5, 2021. As of the date of this review (April 2, 2021), the paperwork has still not been received by our tag/license office, and we have no recourse to register the vehicle. Multiple calls to general managers, title clerks, etc. still have not been returned. Every single interaction that I've had with this dealership has been fantastic. They are always exceeding expectations, going the extra mile, and dealing with you honestly. That is so rare in car sales in car service industry. They are extremely responsive and really take a concierge approach to both sales and tractions and car service interactions. If you need service and they ask you if you have a preferred service advisor, say GARY Phillips. What a treat to work with this gentleman! Gary is not only funny, responsive and fantastic, he lets you know what services are recommended, explains why, but is honest about the necessity. They saw my tires were worn a bit unevenly but the alignment checker had not worked and so he put my car through the alignment checker again to see if the uneven wear was from before or was being caused by current misalignment. Secretly, my dad knew that he had had the car aligned very recently. So, if this place been unscrupulous, I would have known it and would have been doubting their advice forever. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Gary went the extra mile to make sure the recommendation was really necessary and was honest when he found out it wasn't. If you need a salesperson, ask for Michael O'Rourke (O'Roake?). What an advocate. He rescued me from an unscrupulous difficult Honda deal in Orlando, like a knight in shining armor. My original purchase of a Pilot in 2019 was also seamless and they again rescued me from a dealership in Orlando that changed the terms at the last minute but they matched the awesome price that I had negotiated with the other place. Even trying to change my choice of model and color to fit their inventory!!! The Accord Hybrid I called on has been listed for weeks; most loikely lease return purchase for Crown to make $3-$4k over purchase price retailing. They already made their shop $1500 to certify a 6,000 mile Accord! And it has extensive unrepaired body damage on passenger side; plus it's close to being stripped down model. Hardly a "Hot Seller!" I offered $1,000 up over cost; they said no----they want "Perfect Diamond" price for a damaged zircon! Pass. Where in retail do you learn to turn down decent profit on less than stellar product that needs obvious repair? So now they spend more to keep "old" car that has languished on hot internet market! They result was that nothing was wrong. Michelle explained to me what was needed on my car and helped me figure out what was most important and would save me the much money during that visit, because money was tight. I met Tia Harr when my recent lease was in the body shop for over four months because a vital part was on critical backorder. I was at a point where I couldn't fathom continuing to rent a car because it had become financially draining. I went to Crown Honda and met Tia. As we waited for the new lease to get ready, she arranged for someone to go to the body shop to retrieve my car plates, in order to place them onto the new lease. Why would a finance person have a co-signer from outside of your household? Because the finance person wouldn't listen and be respectful. Beware, you should probably go somewhere else. Also they will delete negative reviews on the "dealer rater" site so that is worthless. Car loans affect a whole family, not just one person on the loan. The sales rep was great however the finance manager was very pushy and persistent. Apparently he was never taught the meaning of the word NO. He also took it upon himself to slip in a service plan for a couple grand that I never agreed to purchase upon the first place. Be very careful when dealing with these snake-oil salesman. Very crooked, persistent, annoying...etc etc...left with a headache! Also to take the cake my battery died 3 weeks after purchasing this vehicle. Unreal.
