Went in with a brake problem that turned out just needing a brake hose replacement. But before finding that out I went to Midas. Mechanic looked at my car, came back and told the front desk guy that my breaks were "beefy". I had gotten them replaced first because I thought that was my issue (it was not). Guy then tells me my brakes are bad and it would cost me more than $800 to replace them all. I left because obviously I wasn't going to replace "beefy" breaks. Find out later they had also broke a wheel bolt but because it was a day later instead of right out of the parking lot they didn't take accountability for it. I won't be back, the employees at this Midas location do not have good customer service skills at all. Also, once walking into the location they already had perceived notions about me because I'm African American. The front desk representatives where very vague/blunt to the services they offered. Midas at 46th and Memorial is just the best! I had an estimate on my car that was very expensive for muffler repair so at the last minute I thought I would call Midas. I spoke with Chris and he told me to bring in my car and gave me a breakdown of the cost of the muffler and exhaust system if that needed to be replaced. When I got there after a few minutes he had me look at the car to see the damage and explained fully the various options. The repair took less than 45 minutes and the cost was so much less than my original estimate. I was beyond thrilled! I am not a morning person but the guys working there were so funny and friendly that my wait time seemed more like ten minutes. This is the place to go to get your vehicle worked on. My husband gets the oil for our vehicles changed here, when his truck went down and had power problems he took the truck in to Chris. He and the other techs checked it out, had it up and going in a short time. They also found a connection that wasn't hooked up from the dealership and now it runs even better. read more

I usually make an effort to find my cheapest option when getting my car fixed but this Midas wasn't far off the prices of anywhere and you really do get what you pay for! Chris, MC, and the other techs are awesome. I go here to get my oil changed and tires rotated. They are always quick and have me on my way in no time. Last time I was there Chris had me come out to look under the car, I had a leak up near the drivetrain. He said I should check it out at my dealership as it could be covered under warranty. If not they could fix it there. I took it over to Jeep and it was covered and fixed. Needless to say I will be back to Midas read more

Chris, MC and all of the technicians here are rock stars! We called to discuss tire options for our Nissan Sentra and MC patiently went through options for us that fit our needs perfectly. We made an appointment for the next day and when we arrived, they were ready to go. They had all four tires changed and the donut pressure checked in less time than they had told us it would take. The warranties and all paperwork were completed and we were done in well under an hour. We've had brake replacement on our Camry there, too, and received the same excellent, friendly service! I have a 2008 Mazda 3. My check engine light came on and my car started acting as if it didn't want to accelerate so I took it to the Midas in Midtown (3715 E 11th Street) on 11/17/2014 to have it checked out. When I asked about taking it to Autozone to have the check engine light code tested the manager told me that the employees are Autozone are not technicians and I couldn't rely on them to tell me the correct check engine light code. That scared me into thinking that I needed to have Midas diagnose it the problem. I was contacted a couple of hours later saying that my oxygen sensor was bad. I was told the total would be $352.00. I asked "Ok so the total is going to be $352.00." "Yes it is." I then declined windshield wipers and a transmission flush. When I went and picked up the car the total amount was $465.00. I said I was told the total would be $352.00 where did the extra amount come from? It was the $90.00 diagnostic fee plus the $352.00 for the oxygen sensor. The oxygen sensor itself was $276.00. I was surprised to see the part being so high as I had looked online and saw the part ranged from $50-$115. When I questioned why the part was so high he said "they must have used a factory OE oxygen sensor." When I said I understood if I had taken it to a Mazda dealership they would have used factory parts but I had brought to a non-dealership in an attempt to not pay dealership costs and at the very least would have been asked if I had a preference. The manager stated they didn't like to use after market parts as they weren't as good as factory OE parts. However, he couldn't state for certain they did use the factory OE oxygen sensor. Because I was beginning to ask questions about the invoice he said he could apply a $30.00 off - which he said he wasn't supposed to do but would in this instance. I had no choice but to pay $435.00. I will never know whether or not the part they used was after marked or factory OE. I feel absolutely taken advantage of. I am a woman and not a mechanic. In the past I have taken my car here for oil changes - but will no longer. I am posting this story in hopes that other women will read this review and think twice before bringing their car here. read more
