I would absolutely not recommend this shop. Mu son scheduled his car for an alignment and instead they quoted hom $5395 for suspension repairs. He smartly declined this egregious quote. He was then charged $169 just for the inspection. So no work was done on the vehicle. I stopped in to talk with the owner and mentioned that my son is young and doesn't have the money to be charged $170 for an inspection and he said that that's not his problem. I said that I do not want to fight, but that I am willing to file a complaint and he said go ahead. I obliged him this evening. I filed one with corporate Midas and Wisconsin consumer protection. I would also suggest doing a search online on the public database for Wisconsin circuit court lawsuits against this shop. Reward honest businesses in our community and avoid ones like this. read more

I visited this Midas location on 3/2/2023 to have a light bulb replaced in my Traverse. After asking if they had any openings in the schedule that day, the service person at the front desk said they didn't have any open appointment for that Thursday which was fine, he then went on to say the estimated cost is between $80 to $200. I clarified I just wanted the light bulb in the headlamp replaced not the headlamp. He mentioned that the "housing had to be removed and it would be about 1-2 hours of work." I went to a different repair shop and they replaced the bulb for $20. I was surprised Midas tried to do a quick scam, wow. read more

I called Midas when a local mechanic shop told me that they were going to charge me over $1000 to do 1 wheel bearing and a battery. The owner, Ken, told me they charge less than half that for the same service. He got me in right away and was very accommodating to me and my schedule. When I had a brake issue come up shortly after that service, because I missed it on my vehicle inspection, Ken had his team look at my car, he explained what the issue was, and offered his services. I told him that I was not able to pay right now because we just got through the holidays and I just spent what I had on fixing my other issues. Ken told his team to fix it and he would let me pay later this week when I could pay. Ken and his team seem to care about the customers and their vehicles. Been putting with a noise under the car for to long, made an appointment to drop it off and after arriving and describing the noise, the guy said going ahead and pull it right now as it may be a simple fix, he put it up on the rack, bent in some of the heat shield that was the issue then wouldn't let us give him anything. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I was ripped off and taken advantage of when I needed my car fixed. When they quoted me it was 800 and something dollars. When I got there they said 900. They told me I misheard what was said on the phone. Absolutely not. That kinda of money is a huge deal to me. After I paid my problem "they fixed" came back up again 1 month later. They are a scammer. Just because the name is MIDAS. DOES NOT make this company credible. DO NOT SERVICE YOUR CAR HERE. I went to Midas for a tire rotation and oil change, they told me that I needed $2,000.00 worth of work. They also acted as though if I drove my car, my front tires would come off. One of the things the owner told me was that I needed was front upper and lower ball joints. Even though they couldn't check the uppers because they have to "rip it apart" to check them. I got a second opinion and, he told me that I could defiantly check the upper ball joints and they were completely fine. I wish I could give zero stars but unfortunately you can't. So this story all starts with a guy named Ken. Once you have talked to him on the phone, or walked in the door and said hello, you'll understand. He is willing to bend over backwards to help you, and does it all while making a joke to keep you smiling. His staff are all very friendly too! It gives me a good feeling when I walk into a business and EVERYONE seems like they enjoy their job. I chose them to change my tires because they were on the top of the yelp page.... GREAT CHOICE! Since the beginning of winter I have taken both of my cars into them for everything from oil changes to tires to repairing my exhaust and replacing a battery. Every time I go in it's the same great customer service! They take my cars right away, never try and sell me any thing I don't need, and do a great job explaining what or why I might need something. They remember my name, and make me feel like I'm part of the family. Will I go back? YES! Would I recommend my grandmother? YES! read more

First place we tried so that we can get our car fixed and ready for the winter but I can definitely say that this places customer service is great, at least the guy that we worked with. The mechanic we spoke to was very good at explaining parts and what was needed and didn't try and oversell items to us that we didn't need. It was definitely pricey but it was well overdue for our car since other mechanics we had previously gone too were not able to fix the issues. The only bad thing that I had to say was that it was definitely a long wait. We showed up early for our appointment with them around 1:45pm and didn't leave until a couple minutes before they closed. I didn't make a big deal because I know our car had its issues but my overall feel of this place is that I like it and the employees who were working there at that time. Would I recommend? It was important to me to use a locally owned shop to have the brakes changed on my car...I am so so happy I chose Ken and his team at Advanced Auto Care. Ken gave me the estimate up front, had me come look under the car once he had diagnosed the issues I was having so I could understand the work he was doing and he had all of the parts he needed on site. The job was efficient (done with same day service) and the service was exemplary. I ran his pricing by my friend who is an auto technician and he said the prices were spot on...very reasonable. If you want to support a local shop, get a great deal and work with someone who understands that just because you're not a car expert doesn't mean that you should be treated like an idiot...then go here and ask for Ken. One more thing...I don't know if this is important to you...and it wasn't a deciding factor about why I liked the place...but it certainly was a bonus: Ken smelled good. Started my day off at 7:30am calling to see if I can get a oil change. Of course 10am was the first opening they had so I took it. I got there and was greeted by Ken. He was extremely friendly. I went for a brake line to be fixed it took 2 1/2 hours they said it would be one hour job they charged $375 in labor to complete a simple brake line and $100 in parts I had to pay $500 for a brake line rip- off . Would I recommend HELL NO read more

Terrible, terrible!! Beware! We went there for an oil change and left with a broken step bar bracket on our truck. I pointed out the broken bracket and he accused my wife of breaking it!! As someone who usually finds a way to give praise to small business i'm disappointed to have to write a strongly negative review. My husband and I live near this business and so it is the closest choice. After our fist oil change the plug was lose and leaking on our garage floor. Took it back only to find they had moved the car with the parking break locked into position. After forgiving that my wife had her car worked on requiring new dealer parts only to find from the "second" repair shop that had to repair what they did not properly repair, the "new" parts they charged us for were actually used parts. Run as fast as you can! The owner is a complete selfish, child loser! I looked up the owner on ccap and has $60,000 in tax warrants unpaid owed to the state as well as approx. $140,000 in other unpaid business transactions! This place are crooks! This place ripped me off many years ago, and I'll never do business with this place again!!! They said they did work on my car, a rather large job to do on an engine, and they never performed what they say they did. I didn't catch it until after I paid for the service, and realized all they did was wipe down the engine to make it look clean, but after I took off a cover, I noticed the bolts were still dirty and they were never touch with any tools. I returned to demand a refund, and they got real nasty and rude in my face. read more

I had an amazing experience at this Midas. I started having car trouble near the Wausau area and was still over 2 hours away from my destination. It was getting late in the day and I realized my car wouldn't make it home. In desperation I got on my phone and googled repair shops and came across this Midas store. I called and told them my situation and they said to bring it over right away and they would do what they could. I showed up literally 10 minutes before closing time. Then without hesitating Ken, the owner, said they would stay past close-of-business to get my car fixed. Ken and his technicians stayed for over an hour past closing time to fix my car and get me on the road. It was hands down the best car repair experience I've ever had, particularly given my desperate situation. Ken and his team are top notch and truly care about their customers. I mean who else would stay over an hour past closing to fix a car for someone they've never met. Ken made me feel like family, it was crazy what he and his staff did for me.
