July 13,2023 I bought my car in for new lugnuts and studs. I found the store manager, Nick Jayswal, to be very professional, knowledgeable, honest and friendly. Extremely easy to communicate with. He actually listens. He explained very clearly how he would fix the car and the price. He and his staff were very careful not to damage the wheel bearing when replacing the lugnuts and studs (saving me money). In addition, Nick was extremely helpful in helping me to get a reimbursement from Sam Club (very rare to find someone who would do that). I was very pleased with the service. Midas Westchester is a business I fully recommend. They do quality work, in a timely way, with a smile. I made an appointment for today, and they were very busy. Diego and his mechanic worked hard and efficiently to make sure I was able to have my car today. They identified the problems and were able to diagnose and solve it. Additionally, several people came in and out while I waited (2 delivery people and 2 customers) and Diego greeted each one by name, with an authentic caring smile. Then each customer turned to tell me how they have been coming for a long time and they trust Diego and his team without hesitation. He makes this business feel local and welcoming. In fact he insisted that his mechanic get the tip I was offering for their amazing work. This Midas is excellent - with a friendly neighborhood feel, great quality work, done efficiently. For years this was our place for auto repair and services. I understand that they are under new management now and have heard on FB that the service has declined. We are creatures of habit and gave them a try to have our own experience. How do you miss a nail in a tire??? How do you determine that the loss of air is due to a dent in the rim after you have done a bubble test? And how do you charge $30 for this? Either they lied about what they did or they are not very good at their job and they have seen the last of us. read more

I made the mistake of bringing my car to the Countryside location where they caused a great deal of damage to my car. I will not allow Midas Countryside to touch my car again since they have proven themselves to be grossly incompetent. I gave the owner if these two locations the undeserved opportunity to fix my car at this location. Big mistake. Earlier in the week, I told them what was damaged and sent pictures. When the mechanic rolled in to work a half hour late I discussed what was damaged with the manager and mechanic. I was told that the broken off bolt that holds the center support and missing fasteners that were not reinstalled were not needed. The car manufacturer thought they were necessary, but these clowns know better. I was then told that they couldn't and wouldn't fix them anyway. I had enough. I had no confidence that they could fix the horn that they also broke in Countryside. I was also worried they would create more damage trying. I took my car and left. When I got home, I noticed that the transmission cooler is leaking. This what was supposed to be fixed in the first place. I have to bring my car to another mechanic to have the work done again along with additional repairs that are now needed. I also have to bring my car to a body shop to have the damage to my rocker panels fixed. Estimates range from over $1100 to $2900. Save yourself the time, expense, and headache, do not go here! read more

After being told by another Midas Location that my Air Conditioning was working just fine (but I knew it wasn't) I went to this location. They were very accommodating and took me as a walk in even though they were very busy. I left my car there for the day. They updated me continuously with phone calls. The repairs were completed and my car is happily cool now!!! read more

Just wanted to give a little mini-review for this Midas location. I had an emissions test here. There is a parking lot which didn't feel too cramped (like where you have to park behind a dumpster to find a place for your car). The person who greeted me was friendly and had a great sense of humor. He was chatting with an older lady ahead of me - kindly and respectfully. Props. The waiting area is air conditioned and relatively quiet. My test was done in a matter of minutes, and they offered a $10 coupon for service at their shop. They seemed like nice people here. TOTAL RIP OFF!!! Unfortunately, there is new management for the Westchester location and my experience was not great. I was just charged $80 for an oil change!!! I went to this Midas because I USED TO trust the owner. I always felt that he was looking out for me and my car. With the new management the opposite is tru. When I dropped my car off for an oil change, I expected the same service and PRICE as the other times I have been there. Unfortunately NO!!! They gave me the MOST EXPENSIVE oil without asking me. When I brought up the fact that $80 is an outrageous price for an oil change on a Mazda, the manager just kept arguing with me about all the different types of oil. The most I have ever paid for an oil change is $69.99 incl taxes at a dealership. Needless to say, I will not be returning. read more

Please do not come to this place. Go somewhere else. My AC broke last week, and also need to replace a couple lights. They told me its $160 to replace 2 lights....O_O And then as for the AC, they looked at it and then they said they need to charge $40 diagnosis fee to look further to find real cause of the AC problem. Then they quoted me $1000 on compressor replacement. I took it to another place, the diagnosis is free, and they only charge me $600. What a rip off. read more

My sister was visiting from Indiana for the holiday. When she arrived, my husband noticed her tire was going flat. Her husband had already taken it to be repaired, so we added air to the tire. I suggested going to our mechanic, but she thought it would be fine. The next day we did not notice that it was now completely flat until the afternoon (before the new year holiday). Our regular mechanic was unavailable, and as we called another recommended mechanic, he was unavailable for a week. Now we were getting nervous. I remember a friend coming from Chicago to go to Midas. The gentleman that answered the phone wanted to check that he had the tire in stock first. He did and they got us in within the hour. It was expensive, but after adding air to the tire, it was flat by the time she arrived. She could not have driven her car to a further location. So very grateful that they were there when we needed them the most! read more

I inherited a 2005 mercury sable with low miles my odometer says 72450 todays receipt says 78,123 but i digress. My car started sounding loud a few days ago i went under car and seen flex pipe was compromised This location fixed my flex pipe in 2018 so i called Midus and made appt to have it looked at letting them know they previously fixed it. 5stars for setting Appt right away and getting my car looked at. 2 stars for my whole experience. My Appt was 9:15. I called at 10:30 and asked how it was going? I was told they were putting it up and looking at it now. Ismael, the manager, would call in an hour. I got a call at 3pm with 2 options. Option 1 - install new catalytic converter and exhaust gasket along with flex pipe for $1,200. Value of my car is maybe 3x that cost so i ask what is option 2 - weld flex section with new flex pipe part cost $49 and Labor $400. "The car can be ready in 45min". So the dude who welds the part on makes $350 for 45min or $750 an hour. I had no interest in putting ANY money in this car and wasn't interested in trying to get friends to help me take it somewhere else. A smart person would make lots of calls and get a better quote and go to a place that doesn't make commission off selling more than you need. There was no option 3 for me so i took Option 2. When i went to pick up the car the technician put the fear factor in my brain of "when the weld breaks you need to get converter replaced" ok thanks, when is it gonna break? Next week? Next month ? Next year? There is a coupon on line that was suppose to be part of the bill. Not noted on the bill. So in the end flex pipe fix was $29.27 for part and $350 for labor. My guess is you pay a minimum of $350 in labor at this place. Nothing cheap. Shop around before heading here it's under new ownership. Good Luck. Get a coupon. read more

Your motto says it all and I definitely trust the Midas Touch! The crew here is always very informative, and believe in providing excellent customer service/auto repair services. I had a transmission oil leak, needed a transmission flush, and I was provided with step by step information regarding parts, labor and services. In addition, my serpentine belt was shredded, and it needed to be replaced. Ismael contacted me to let me know what was needed and the cost. He is an effective Manager who has excellent people skills, and does a great job explaining details about their auto services. Parker/technician explained what was involved with the transmission flush, he showed me the rusted cooler line, and he did a thorough job repairing my car. I've had some bad towing/mechanic experiences in the past, this was not the case with Midas (or Powers towing that got my car to their shop). Everyone was extremely friendly and understanding (they even let my dog wait for a ride with me in their waiting room). My car ended up needing a new transmission and I had it scrapped, but they were very easy to deal with and organized. Highly recommend this shop. They seem honest and understanding. read more

I had a great experience. Stopped in today after work expecting a long line and a long wait, but I was surprised. I was the third person in and the first person out. It helps I only needed a quick light bulb change but the customer service was outstanding. I don't usually write reviews but I guess I decided to change that today. I have been using this Midas for seven years and they have always been upfront and honest with me. I have never had them oversell me on BS services. My Father is in the car business and has looked at estimates from them for work when I first started using them and they were spot on. I think the guy who runs the shop, Chris (sorry if I got that wrong) has always been very professional and taken care of things in a quick and satisfactory manner. During the recent polar vortex my tire pressure light went on and I ran out of windshield fluid. Air machines at local gas stations were frozen so I called this Midas and asked if they could help me. The person who took my call was extremely nice and told me to come in. While I stayed warm in my car, he filled the tires and added the windshield fluid for a minimal fee (for which I would have gladly paid more considering the circumstances). This shop was a guardian angel for me to get home safely. The service was extremely fast and professional. read more

Took my car here two years ago because my car started sounding loud. I thought it was the muffler. They told me I needed a catalytic converter. The work totaled around $11 since I had brake work done also. My car just started making the same noise so I took it back. They told me now I need a muffler and resonator totalling $488. I took it to Velasquez Mufflers in Harvey. Got a warranty and no noise for $110. It was the flex pipe. Never. AGAIN! read more

Giving one star in order to review. But would give zero. What a Rip off!! Do not go here! After my muffler started making noise, I took it into my neighborhood Midas for an estimate. They called us an hour later and quoted us $680.00, claiming they had to replace a pipe and converters. I was shocked! So I picked up my car and took it down the street for a second opinion. Problem fixed for $70. Saved over $600!! They told me it wasn't necessary to have to replace my converters! Car sounds like new! I know where I'll be taking my car from now on! Fast friendly service. That said I have never had major work done here. All the work they've done was done correctly & reasonably priced. Not always the lowest but not the highest. Don't think I would have major engine, suspension or A/C work done at Midas because its not what the specialize in doing. Overall I'd say A- or B+ shop. read more

Once again you did not disappoint. The service was done in a timely manner, I dropped off my car the evening prior, and by 9:00 AM I got a call and my car was ready. The facility is very clean and there was one person waiting inside when I picked up my car. They adhered with the Covid rules of distancing and masks. Ismael showed me how to look up service on Carfax which is something I didn't know I could look at. What a great help moving forward with service done elsewhere. The staff are genuinely there to care for all of your needs. I felt like they were taking ownership of my car. I had coupons and as it turned out I did not have enough chargeable service to qualify but he applied the $10 coupon anyway. What a guy. This is the type of service I would like to have when I go to the dealership. Ismael goes above and beyond every time I find myself in need of service. Where did you get this guy? Just had an oil change on my Honda. I used to do it myself but I saw a coupon in the paper for 19.99 and it included tire rotation. I called to check on availability and they said bring it right over. I went in and they did the oil change and tire rotation quickly and with tax I was out the door for $21.00. I highly recommend this store. No hard sell for filters or other unnecessary parts. I could hardly do my own oil change for this price! Definitely will bring my other cars here. read more
