geez. I'm your neighbor and like 4 doors down and you treat people like garbage bunch of ungrateful jerks. I went for an emissions test. They told me I was next, and said to pull to the side, just leave enough room for the other car to pull out. apparently I pulled too far, and the guy came out to scold me, and told me now i have to go to the back of the line ...as punishment I guess? I went in to ask what was going on, and told me I wasn't supposed to pull that far up and acted like I should know - I told them they would have to tell me that for me to know, and they got an attitude with me, and said 'well we don't have to do it then bro' And of course I am not having them 'do it bro' I let it go when they quoted me more than 2x the going rate for my car repair , but man, what jerks. Good customer service and user friendly website, but incredibly expensive. They marked up parts 2.5x on top of labor. And charged $$ for simple jobs like refilling fluid in a reservoir. They are honest and transparent in their diagnosing process but I would not recommend them due to their pricing. read more

Made an appointment on their website to have the emissions test performed on my car. Got there on time and there was a line ahead of me for emissions testing. I went in and said I had an appointment and Keith's even confirmed that I did. Was then informed that they do not take appointments for emissions and that its first come first serve and that if I wanted to wait I could. Why do you offer emissions test appointments on your website, but then not honor them? If it's a state rule that it's first come, first served, then why was I able to make an appointment? They truly seemed to not car. I have used Keith's for service other than emission testing in the past, but never again. read more

Zero stars!!! My daughter was in an accident that resulted in her car being totaled. The inspector deemed it totaled and we were instructed that we would need to go to Keith's Auto Care to gather all belongings and remove plates and personal information and then sign/release the vehicle to be picked up by the salvage company. The salvage company called the following Monday and Todd released the car to them without our permission. He lied to me and told me that the insurance company called and told him the car was released. Couldn't recall who he spoke with and pulled a hand written receipt with the word released written at the top. If you make a mistake own up to it. Shady business practices that you release someone's property without their permission. No phone call or verification from them to do so. Not an honest business and now I have to track the car down to see if I can get my personal effects and license plates. Waste of my time and money once again. Don't waste your time and money here. I took my car in for an AC recharge. There was little communication throughout the day. I was told I had to replace an expansion valve (in addition to the $5k recommended work) for the ac to work and was quoted $900+ dollars. I declined it as three shops in the area quoted me $500. After I picked up the car I found out my 9 month old battery (that worked perfectly) was now bad. I called to talk to the owner and got a call back from the gm who took no ownership for poor communication and toasted battery. Must have just been a coincidence that after I declined the extra overpriced work that the car needed more work. I wouldn't take my bicycle here to get air in the tires. I understand mistakes happen but the lack of accountability is unacceptable. read more

Kudos to Keith's Car Care for servicing our 2014 Kia Sorento's air conditioning system just after Memorial Day. In the past, we've been quite pleased with their work. Here's what happened. On 11 April, our Kia was repaired, under our warranty, at a St Louis dealer, for an air conditioning system distribution line leak. The system stopped delivering cold air on the 45-minute drive home to O'Fallon, IL. When trying to schedule a re-visit, the dealership said their AC equipment was down, no repair date in sight, we were #3 on the call list. I visited the dealership on 18 May to follow up and got the same response. The local Kia dealer was not an option. Having done satisfactory business with Keith's before we decided to rent a vehicle, drive the 4 hours/235 miles, drop off our Kia for about 10 days and let them fix it, then return for pick up, knowing they wouldn't disappoint! After a diagnostic and recharging the system, they drove the vehicle for several days with no cooling issues noted. My son's 1997 Honda Del Sol did not start after sitting in garage this winter and while I am mechanically able and made some self-trouble shooting repairs (YouTube videos were helpful... Main Relay, Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump), I needed technical help and wanted to use a local merchant vs. taking a chance on paying for $$ service at the Honda dealership. The numerous positive reviews led me to use Keith's Car Care and recommend you using them for your auto-repair needs baaed on my experience. As I live @ 2 miles from Keith's, the low tow-fee was reasonable and within 2 hours, I was called with info on their diagnostics and they requested my permission to make repairs along with a fairly accurate estimate of what the costs would be. Service Manager: Jeff (Geoff?) was great on the phone and very responsive and patient with my concerns and repair questions. Their professionalism is also noticeable when anyone answers the phone! In my case, the car was fixed in about one-day. They are very nice people, but that's where it ends very expensive and overpriced I brought my wife's car there again giving them a second chance they could not rotate the tires censers correctly they said I needed new ones I said no thanks. I had to take it back to the Cadillac dealer they informed me it did not need new ones. I call for a timing change estimate for my f150 he said over the phone $4000.00 the dealer charges $3100.00 an other Independent shops charge $2500.00. I went this afternoon with my wife's CR-V (2014) for EPA emission testing instead of Illinois Test Center. I was treated promptly by a polite young man. He provided outside seating under a tent canopy to wait as he drove the SUV into the open garage bay. No sooner had I sat down to compose a text message to my wife, that he drove up and quickly gave me my Illinois report form telling me it passed. Amazing service. Today my son and I had Keith's team do a corrosion resistance application on our Ram truck. We drove 65 miles from St. John, Indiana for a 9:00 AM appointment. We met Keith, great guy and owner, and the two guys on the front end. Place is clean, organized, professional, friendly and a joy to be around. They provided a courtesy ride to downtown Oswego where we had breakfast, Oswego Family restaurant (excellent) and a return ride. We'd do bus8ness again with them. Honest, they also offered a loaner car as we had to wait 2.5 hours. Awesome outfit. Windows that allow you to see into the shop area which has 8 stalls. Great job guys. read more

I always bring my cars here. Now. The end has come. A very sad ending! I went in to buy a tire for my car. I even brought my own rim in to have it placed on the rim. I spoke with Shawn. I think that is the way his name is spelled. They wanted $218. I thought that was kinda high, since I had shopped earlier. I asked him if I could get a exact replacement tire so mine will match. Mine is Michelln. As the car is still new. Shawn said about $340 dollars for that one. WOW! So I thought to change that to his recommended Cooper tire. For $218 out the door. I asked him about maybe a Goodyear tire. His comment was "I won't put those on cars". "Not recommended". As he went on with a story about the owner putting them on his truck, and how bad it was. I didn't need to hear this really. I didn't need his opinion. I thought ok. Lets maybe get the Cooper. He had to call in and order it, and it will be in tomorrow. I called him back about 5 minutes later and said, maybe not. As the price seemed high. And a Cooper was not really my choice. He went on with some crazy idea about you won't save any money elsewhere, and how the tire deal system works. So anyways after a second phone call, he got pretty rude! You know. I haven't even paid for anything yet, and he went off like a bat out of hell! Yelling I can't cancel your tire. "I really don't want to". He put me on the spot. I told him "I'm sorry, but yes you are going to cancel it. I think your price is too much. And I went over there and grabbed my rim. Mind you the mechanics there are really nice guys. I can talk days with them. Now, I drove over to Discount tire. And got the exact same tire of my original, that I really wanted anyways at Kieth's. The one the factory puts on. Out the door installed for $192.38 taxes included. Compared to what Kieth wanted $340 for my original. I just knew it. The price was scamy. His Cooper tire I was gonna put on was about $115 at Discount tire. With mounting and all $150. Another huge difference from Kieth's $218. No with all Shawn's yelling. What happened to the old saying, "The Customer is Always Right"? That guy scared me to even go back there. Almost like he threatened me. Well didn't scare me. But would some helpless person out there. Speaking of that, what if I was a helpless naive person about cars. What he doesn't know. Is I know the Service Writer book backwards and forwards. I like playing the dumb customer. Their job is to up charge the customer as best they can. No matter how friendly you think they are. The dollar bill is what counts in the end. There job in finding that so called "you need to replace this and that", or the usual, I recommend you fix this or else....". I Managed 3 Meineke Shops for my Uncle in Las Vegas for a few years only 8 years ago. And I worked very close to my Service Writers. But I always made sure they knew, the customer was always right. In my case with Kieth's. I really didn't need to be right. What if I was a poor helpless guy or girl, who doesn't know much about this industry? Or what my car would need? I would have fell for it tooth and nail. Now. I know the COVID situation is rough on all of us. And many are hurting for a buck even these days. but for Kieth's to stoop to this level was a shocker for me. When people too are trying to save a buck during hard times. I have lived in this town for 22 years. And I have been to Kieth's a few times. But that was my last time. I am sorry to say. All good things must come to an end. My fear is everyone should be on there toes. You may think you left with good people and a deal. Bought probably 40% are not needed up charges. IDK. You decide. read more

My son's car was leaking power steering fluid and after talking with a gentleman at Keith's, he said they'd be happy to do a free diagnosis. The initial diagnosis was simple and cheap. Turns out, there was more to it. They provided photos and a clear explanation so I understood what it was and why it was missed the first go round. I agreed to have them fix it and they reduced the charge as a way of 'softening the blow'. Excellent customer service and timely repairs. While I hope I'm not back anytime soon, Keith's will be getting my business in the future. read more

This afternoon I had to call Keith's Car Care to confirm my U-Hal reservation for my move. I was firmly greeting by a hostile and highly aggravated Keith. When I inquired as to my reservation I was placed on a brief hold. This hold was the most pleasant part of the call. Keith returned to the phone and unleashed a fire storm upon me as he proceeded to tell me that my reservation was no longer as promised by U-Hal corporate. He spoke to me as if I were stupid as he explained to me that one of his customers received precedence over my reservation placed through U-Hal corporate. If Keith is this hostile in regard to a simple U-Hal reservation, I can only imagine his irate hostility toward his automotive customers. read more

I have been to quite a few car repair places over the years for anything ranging from simple oil changes to more major issues. I chose Keith's due to their high rating on google and was not disappointed. Keith's Car Care was by far the best repair shop I have ever been to. Their customer service from beginning to end was exemplary. Their communication of my vehicles issues along with their recommendation of what should be done was outstanding. They emailed a detailed outline with pictures which showed the issues that were mentioned in the report. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in the Oswegoland area. read more

I can't believe anyone still goes here. I took a car here years ago and they were WAY overpriced. Went back last year, WAY overpriced and misdiagnosed the issue. To replace 2 solenoids (which weren't the issue), they originally wanted $700+. I told the guy, well I brought the car here, so I guess I'll get it done. So, he knocked it down to $550. Solenoids cost $30-$40 each. There is 1 bolt holding them in and a wire harness that needs to be unclipped. That's it. I used to work on my own cars, so I know when I am being taken advantage of. I told them when I arrived that the issue appeared to be related to the fuel injector as it started when I filled my tank. They ignored that and replaced the solenoids. It didn't resolve the issue. I got it repaired at an ethical shop in town (RJ Automotive) $200 to pull out the fuel injector and clean the injector and air intake, fill the tank with carb cleaner, and an oil change), I will never go to Keith's again. There are too many companies that rip off people who trust them to treat them fairly. Keith's is one of those places. read more

My experience with Keith's was not what I thought it would be. I brought my truck to them because my check engine light came on. When Keith's called me they said it was a $197 diagnosis fee and had pulled the codes. The codes that were pulled had to do with timing and camshaft. Without trying to fix the codes, which were the issue the check engine light came on, I was told that their technician thought my exhaust was clogged and it would cost more money to examine my exhaust. Now there would be no reason to have this diagnosis with the codes that were pulled. So they wanted to pull my muffler down and see if they could see anything that might be clogged. I was told that if nothing is found then they would have to cut the muffler in half to examine it. Now if that wasn't enough they said if they cut the muffler in half then I would need a new muffler. They also said it might be my catalytic converters, which no code was tripped for the catalytic converters to be bad, and it would be more money. When I was told this I was very upset. I told them I did not understand at all why they are not trying to fix the codes that were tripped. Again, probably taking advantage of the situation with my truck there with the check engine light on. I told them to check the exhaust. Guess what nothing wrong with exhaust. So they decided to look at the real problem, the codes. Well it turned out to be a low oil pressure issue that was tripping the codes. It was deemed I needed a new motor. Now the motor that was on my truck was a Jasper and still under warranty, thank goodness. So I told Keith's I would pick up the truck and pay what I owed for the diagnosis. I was charged t by e $197 for the original fee. I was not charged for looking at the exhaust. I think I was not charged anymore because I was so upset about the whole idea the exhaust was the problem. I give 2 stars, I dealt with Jeff the service manager the entire time. After I picked up my truck I took it to DJ's Auto Repair in Plainfield. I did not have Keith's put in the new motor. read more

Had to replace my car battery on the coldest day of the review when it stopped working. Luckily it died inside my garage and the next day it turned on one more time. Went over to Keith's an hour before closing on Saturday the 13th and he ran a diagnostic test, confirmed the battery was no longer cranking enough and replaced it. I was very impressed with him, his staff and their customer service. Have only heard good things about him and was so glad that I finally went and got some service there. Will continue to trust him with my car going forward. Will recommend him to all my friends and clients in the Oswegoland area! This place is great. Ive been here twice and both occasions were extremely positive. The first time we came in I brought in a flat tire that unfortunately couldn't be repaired but Keith made every effort to get a replacement ordered ASAP.
