I'm not a big review person but I wanted to take some time today to share my experience at Wilrae. I drove in from SW Missouri for the holidays. I was getting on the on ramp going home when I lost my brakes. Pedal to the floor. I was in a bind. Needed immediate help. Nothing worse than breaking down while traveling. At 6:40 am I walked in before they were open and told my story to Walter. He was so nice to talk to. He had a lot of knowledge on my problem and agreed to help me get my Yukon XL back on the road. Within the hour a fella named Chris called me to explain the brake line problem. He had a solution, pricing, and timeline of one day, maybe two if there are unseen issues. I've been wrenching on that truck for years and understand cars very well. This guy Chris was spot on with his explanation of the repair, like I'd do it myself if I wasn't traveling. While my vehicle was being worked on, Wilrae inspected my front end, steering, and brakes. They located, took a video, and called me with an unknown problem with my steering gear box. I'm talking a big problem that could have ended up bad for me. They tightened up a loose nut and took another video to show me it was repaired. I was expecting another charge for that but there was none. It was found and fixed so fast they didn't even charge me for it. Separate phone calls to me explaining the additional problems found and updates on repair times were greatly appreciated by me. They worked on my truck all day till after 4 before they had my brake lines replaced as well as the steering repair and front end alignment. I was so surprised. I was expecting at least a two day repair. These guys really jumped through hoops for me to get it all done and have me back on the road the same day. The best part about is they were able to do all that at a price that was quite reasonable considering the amount of work. I got on the highway and drove 600 miles home without one issue along with my steering vastly improved. Nice job Wilrae. So many times in life people will take advantage of others in a time of need. Took my car for checking why the oil & coolant lights would not shut off even though oil was filled and so was the coolant, the engine was vibrating un-normally. At the 9200 S Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, Illinois, Tom Schultz told me what the problem was and also showed me pictures from his phone. Rodents had eaten through the insulation to the wires going to my cylinders. Took care of the problem in a decent amount of time and the price was great. I've had Kris and the guys work on my 2005 Subaru Baja since I bought it. Through oil changes, new tires, batteries, windshield wipers, a cracked radiator and other repairs they have been courteous, efficient and quick to help. They are why my Baja has 193,000+ miles and still runs great. Their prices are fair and their service is better. As a single woman finding a safe place to have the mysteries of an automobile's problems solved is a big deal. I trust this business. They advertise that they are experts and maybe they are but they don't respect your time. I arrived over one hour early and they could not take me which I understand. They promised I would be in at the time of my appointment. They did not so I had to cancel another appt. The good news is they have free WiFi. read more

I'd give 0 stars if I could. After coming in to get work done on my tires, I was told that I needed new fuel lines as well since they "started leaking." Apparently, they were rusted to the point where lifting the car made them leak, as there was no fuel outside in the parking lot. After calling out the technician and manager for my cars fuel line and getting it replaced, I came home to my engine and battery covered in wiper fluid as the tubing had been cut. My 75 year mother got her brakes done here and they charged her 1600 dollars. The labor was over 1000. I went and talked with the manager and he refused to give us our money back. He quoted over the phone that you cost 350 for the same age of vehicle. This place will steal your money and labor rate 114 an hour and only pay 90 an hour. read more

I am an Uber driver and need to keep the mechanicals in my car working well. These men know what they are doing. They are all SAE certified mechanics. My experience with this shop has been you pay for what you get. It isn't cheap but when you roll out of the parking lot there are no continuing issues. I don't take my car any place else. And with the road s in the shape that they are in in Chicago it is great to have a reliable and professional place to take your car where the work is guaranteed. read more

I experienced many lights coming on my dash board so I opened the hood and noticed the serpentine belt had broke so I called a tow truck. When it arrived I showed the driver the belt and he wrote a note to leave with my keys at Wilrie. When they called for me to pick up the car they said it was the serpentine belt and told me what the price was. I said WOW that seems a little high for a belt and the manager told me " WELL THERE IS A $89.00 DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE" I replied WTF ! I told the manager you did get the note with the keys describing the belt and he replied yes. I said then you should replace the belt 1st, and if the dash lights are still on then run a diagnostic test. I feel I was RIPPED OFF and I will NEVER go there again NOR will I EVER recommend any one to them. read more

Have to recommend against ever having Wilrae service your vehicle! Went to Wilrae last week for a oil change, tire rotation and tire repair then the next day all my power steering fluid leaks out oldest shop trick scam in the book they loosened one of my power steering lines and used a pick to damage the seals on my rack and pinion now its a major repair thousands shame on you Wilrae. Had new power steering pump and lines installed last year what a racket happens the next day after I go to your shop. Are you that desperate for work that you are now sabotaging peoples vehicles? Used to be a good honest shop been coming here for 20yrs but never again you can add Wilrae to the worst shops in America list. I will be making complaints to Attorney Generals office, Illinois Commerce Commission Police and Village of Bridgeview. read more

They r the most dishonest & unprofessional people I've ever seen, I think they should go back to school because they have no idea what the customer service & customer satisfaction mean ... They give u a price on a job & when u pick up the car only God knows why the price got jacked up ...... They think they r the only guys who knows about cars , u know it is sad that these guys make other good mechanics looks bad ,, I called them yesterday & I told the man who answered the phone what I need to be done & he told me to bring it in today, when I got there after driving 25 miles he said that we can't fix it till we repair other things that would cost me $2000 , they crazy if they people will fall for this . read more

I can't believe there are any bad reviews of this place. I'd give them 6 stars if I could! I needed new tires for my camper trailer. They had to special order. They called me to confirm when my tires were delivered the next day. I came in on a busy Saturday morning. They got me right in a special bay big enough for my truck and trailer. I didn't even have to disconnect my trailer. They got a guy right on it while I waited which wasn't very long. Tom, the store manager and George, who was working customer service, were very friendly and helpful. When I asked if I could get my bearings greased while it was in the shop, Phil said he could do it right away, and they didn't even charge me extra. I'll take all my future business here. read more

I am a ford senior master tech I have been working on fords for 24 years I brought my motorhome to Wilrae to have the front end aligned just finished installing front end suspension components the dealership that I work for does not have a alignment machine that will accommodate this large vehicle When I arrived their I told the service writer I just want the front end aligned he said that their is a 82.00 inspection fee really they must be desperate I never heard of a shop charging an front end insp fee and I have never worked for a shop that did so I told him that I did t want the inspectors I know what's wrong the left radius is arm bushing is worn but not bad enough to affect anything they brought the vehicle in the shop after about 1/2 hour later they said that they have to do about 600.00 dollars before they can align it Are you kidding me to sum it up they charged me 42 dollars for nothing I then went to worth tire services I had them replace the bushing and align the front end and charged me 240.00 dollars which I am going to give 5 stars the job was done right the first time with no insp fee Be careful this shop is slow and they seem desperate read more

Wilrae was recommended to me by my dealer. I don't normally listen to my dealers as I am a car nut and do much of the work myself but it is an RV and it needed an alignment. I was having difficulty finding a place that could handle the RV. I talked to Chris on the phone and he gave me a detailed explanation and possible charges but of course he would have to see it to say for sure. It was a bit of a haul for me but I gave it a shot. Am I glad I did. When I got in he gave me some possibilities including that it is under warranty and if they see some issues he would send me to my dealer. There would be only an evaluation fee. He came and explained what they were seeing and what they would do. He brought me to see what they were doing. It was the basic $159 for the alignment and that was it. As they weren't comfortable test driving my RV, he told me to drive it and let him know if there were any issues. In and out in 1.5 hours. Great place down the road to get breakfast also. I got such a good vibe, I will be bringing all my vehicles there for alignments or tires! read more

Went to have a tire patched and or replaced. They didn't confirm my number so they were calling the wrong number all day to get permission to change to tire rather than patch it. I come back 6 hours later and my car is still up in the air. They ask to replace it because it was beyond a patch. I agree to that. Then the person at the counter says my front tires have low treads and I should really replace them. Funny story is I work in the transportation industry and know what a low tread is and I just had my car looked at somewhere else and they just told me a month ago I had at least another year on them. I told the guy at the counter this and he was speechless. Really? Your going to try to pull a fast one on me. So angry at the dishonesty and sneakiness! Will NEVER return. read more

They're terribly dishonest and expensive. They charge outrageously for minor things like investigating the cause for the check engine light (what they charge is around what it costs to buy the device to check it yourself). They also like to make up problems for your car to bring in extra revenue. read more

Well, so far the work they did seems ok. I have had all my wheels balanced and put into align over the past 30 years. When I brought my car in I was told I was in need of work, steering system ect. To be honest the car is 12 years old with about 80,000 miles. I did ok the work and this was my fault. Because I should have asked for a quote. When I did pick the car up it was $1,900 for the work. When I left the house I did print a coupon for 20% off. As I had a friend drop me off I did forget the coupon. I did tell the gentlemen at the counter I forgot the coupon.. He told me no coupon no discount. Then he did break down and knock $25.00 off the total bill. I do not call this good customer service, even if the work was done right. After going here for 30 years, I will not return and I would say stay clear. It is not the same place it was in the past. read more

went in there for an alignment. They do great work for slammed vehicles even with aero. However they are a bit pricey $160 for lowered car 4 wheel alignment. The gentleman doing the alignment said he couldn't get underneath the control arms to see if they are tight (bummer). Overall they were able to get it in spec but the quality of work and the price could have been a lot better. read more
