Hence you are hopefully reading this looking for some help or guidance for your beloved pet. Our Kiki came to us as a baby in 2004 at about 1 years old. She has had a few Dr./Vets in the last 14 years here on Long island in the Miller Place NY area and she has developed a few issues in the last few years as she got older. Recently congenital heart disease and a collapsed trachea. She still darts out back after squirrels and deer and barks at the UPS truck, US Postal Service, and all cars as they come down our dead end street. Here she is a week or so ago: http://www.l-y-n-c-h.com/2018/content/2018-12-23_--_EOS_Rebel_T6i_--_8146_large.html But she has started having SERIOUS hacking and coughing episodes and we were having very dark and dismal thoughts about how long or how much of this she could endure or handle. She is losing weight and deteriorating rapidly and it is VERY hard to watch her incapacitating convulsions and heaving. We went to a new vet after the recommendation of TWO of our close animal loving friends and went to the Rocky Point Animal Hospital a few weeks ago for a regular checkup (after some "issues" with the previous vet.) My wife met Karen Kahn, DVM and she reported that she knew we had found a great place for our Kiki's medical needs. Today, after a very uncomfortable and seemingly distressing weekend (for dog and its adoptive human parents) that went through new years for 4 days of convulsive wheezing and no eating, so we took her in for some advice and direction and diagnosis. Kiki was examined by the team and Richard Caputo, DVM who was terrific and gave us very comforting but realistic and we developed a game plan for today and the next days and then multiple options in the next few days. clear instructions and an OPEN invitation to call and chat and figure out what is best for our Kiki! Since we came home she has been restful, has been eating, taking some medicine and cough suppressant. MUCH MUCH better and resting well. (she is exhausted) A big thanks to the whole team and staff at Rocky Point Animal Hospital from our whole family and especially Kiki!

The entire team is incredible- from my initial phone call to actually diagnosing my dog to going over the treatment plan. They are so wonderful and I am fortunate to live so close to their location. Highly recommend. My dog, Willie, was very clearly in excruciating pain and I didn't know why. After an unsuccessful midnight trip to an emergency vet- The Miller Place Animal Hospital was able to take Willie the following day. Due to the pandemic, pet parents are not allowed inside but they were SO great with calling me and keeping me in the loop. I finally felt like my dog was truly getting taken care of. We will never be able to thank them enough. **Our other dog also goes here- she absolutely ADORES them. I've never seen a dog so excited to go to the vet before...truly!

I am a very disappointed. of course I had to do the right thing by this woman and pay her back. miller place vet took advantage of her kindness. there is no compassion over there at all. to the one who had the after thought sense to check if he's chipped, thank you. - snoopy is now at home with his family, we are now $800 in the hole for their mistake.

I finally have some strength to sit and write this review after losing my best friend of 15 years…read more I treat my pets as if they were humans. They are a huge part of our family and deserve the respect and love that we would extend to any family member during this difficult time. We knew that what we had planned would be costly but it didn't matter. We wanted him to feel comfortable and loved. We chose home euthanasia. We absolutely adore our veterinarian, but the stress of the car ride and seeing other animals etc., was not something we wanted to put him through. Everything at home went smoothly. It was very sad but it was also calm. We had the option to have the home vet take our boy to Regency, but chose to do it ourselves. Not only did we get to spend more time with him, but it moved the process along much quicker. Phone calls were made in advance to assure proper instruction upon arrival, and that too, went smoothly. We spoke with Carol who was to the point but also answered every question we had with knowledge and compassion. Our boy passed on Monday in the afternoon. We arrived, had everything processed and paid for before closing. April was at the front desk. She was also knowledgeable and kind. She said Ray would meet us outside to get our baby out of the car for us. Another gentle and caring employee who expressed his condolences while answering our questions. We chose to come back the next morning (Tuesday) for a private cremation and a quick unit viewing. This is not for the faint of heart. You go into a small enclosed room to see your pet through glass, while standing in front of the actual 'machine'. Brian came out to speak with us before going in to this room. He was so kind and obliged when we asked that something be put with our baby. He had him on a table, under some towels with his head propped as if he were sound asleep. As explained to us, there is a bar code/name tag that follows each pet throughout the process. It was in plain sight on the table, the machine, the bag of ashes, the urn...not much room for error if they pay attention. Which I felt they did every step of the way. We were given the option to see the remains exit the machine 3 hours later, but we chose not to. Instead we opted to pick him up in his urn upon completion. We paid extra for a photo urn. The paw print was also extra $ but we didn't need one, as the home vet provided us with that. As hard as all of this was on our hearts, Regency was thorough and we had our baby back home with us in less than 24 hours. Mostly in part to us bringing him ourselves, as opposed to someone doing it for us. I would like to thank Carol, Ray, Brian and especially April who upon checking us out at pick up, made another small gesture that she didn't need to do. I asked her for a hug and she was happy to give one. If you are reading this, I am sorry for your loss. It is truly one of the worst feelings ever. But if your fur baby is part of your family, go the extra mile for them. We will be paying off these bills for months, but there was no price tag on getting him back home where he belongs. Just make the calls, do the research and ask the questions. One last thing...we lost our kitty cat 5 months prior at the vet's office. We trusted them at the time with her transport to Regency. I had called then as well, to follow up every step of the way. Payment and everything was done over the phone and our baby was delivered back to the vet's office in less than a week. So 2 great experiences at Regency that were complete opposites of one another. I hope this helps. See you again baby boy...

Animal Emergency Services, Selden THANK YOU FOR AWESOME…read moreCARE! Thank you for the outstanding care that was given to my nieces cat, Luna today. This is the second time I've had a reason to come to your emergency hospital. I have found the care and the staff to be outstanding and compassionate. Your front desk staff is pleasant, personable, attentive, and quick. While waiting for our cat, I watched how staff treated other patients as they came and went. One couple was met with our vet tech and a gurney in the parking lot to bring their dog in. Staff were amazing. Today, Dr. Mel thoroughly explained our cats problem and how sedation would be needed for treatment. She took photographs of the cats's mouth to help us understand the problem and she explained what medication we would be leaving with. Our pet was given an injection that would last for two weeks. We went in at roughly 1030 and we were out by 3:30. After the staff time invested, diagnosis, sedation, several medications, surgical work, the fee for service on a Sunday was $760. I thought this was a more than fair and reasonable bill. The vet tech.(whose name I did not get today) did an exceptional job of explaining the statement. Another vet tech, John I met on another day was equally as kind. The entire team seems so cohesive. That is a difficult thing to achieve in any office . My only complaint is they are an emergency room. When needed, This is the vet office that I would want to go to on a regular basis. Sheila Carpenter LMSW
