I would do zero stars, but not available, The worst experience that anyone could have!!! We Took out Lola December 5, 2024 to get cremated, we've had 17 dogs cremated there over the years. The new owners that call themselves the "Final Gift". They had made excuses for over 2 weeks of why we haven't received our ashes. Finally the general manager, Eric Hosley call to tell us that they gave our Lola's ashes to another family! Who happened to be the member family's name is Lola. Eric Horsley Promised to deliver our Lola's ashes personally by Monday 12/16. He made more excuses about the owners who can not bring Lola's ashes to the facility. Example: they had car trouble, they had to work late, It's now a month that we still don't have her ashes and they stopped calling us. No call no show. I submitted a claim to the Better Business Bureau We sent registered letters to the middle island and the corporate offices ! They did refund our monies. But Eric Hursey promised for us to pick out a glass etched memento of Lola's picture on it. Never called us again! Never fessed up to the mistake or never received our etched glass. Lies after lies. We are definitely going to contact channel 12 news and eyewitness news on your side. There are more reputable crematories on Long Island than theirs. After all the reviews I read, I will never EVER recommend that place to anyone. read more

Very organized and well run. Employees are compassionate and sincere. Our third time here since 2010, it certainly has changed since then-very formal viewing areas and you can see your pet from a small viewing room right before the furnace door closes. Every aspect from first call, to dealing with the women at front desk, to our interaction with Brian (who shows you into the viewing room and transports your pet to the furnace) was full of empathy and respect for you and your beloved pet. read more

First and foremost .. if you're reading this review I want to say I'm very sorry for your loss . My deepest condolences . Loosing our dog/cat/bird/rabbit is very painful as they are part of our family. We will always cherish our precious baby's . No matter what kind of pet it was . I lost my 12 year old best friend on 2/5/22. My cookie (Yorkie) was and will always be my fur baby . I was able to say my last goodbye on 2/15/22. I buried my angel in his beautiful baby blue casket that Carol helped me pick . Carol was very helpful and very sweet . She showed concern and was very pleasant to speak with . She gave me a paw print for my cookie, and a beautiful velvet bag to put any item I wanted to cherish. I loved that she explained everything and we had as much time as we needed with cookie . Never felt rushed . Brian took cookie into the viewing room and laid a blanket I had made for him . I was able to put any item I wanted in the casket . Brian was AMAZING! Very compassionate , very careful and handled my Cookie with so much respect and love. Brian's helper ( I didn't get his name ) also handled Cookie with a lot of love and care as they placed the casket to be buried . He helped me place a flower cone by the grave . Everyone was so sweet and I can honesty say my cookie will love it there . The grounds are very nice (even with snow ) I can only imagine what they will look like in the summer . I am sad that my baby is gone but I feel a huge sense of relief that he's in a beautiful place with many new friends . I made the BEST decision by bringing my cookie to rest here . I HIGHLY recommend this Cemetary . They charge $55 a month for maintenance on the Grave and I'm certain it will be money we'll spent. I was highly impressed with everything and everyone . We requested our 7-month old kitten, Mog, to be cremated after he died on 1/29/21. The vet said we can expect to receive his cremation ashes in 2-3 weeks. On 2/23, the vet said Regency crematory's truck came but didn't have Mog's ashes; Regency offered to FedEx them overnight to me. The vet recommended to avoid shipping because things can "get lost in the mail," and I agreed, so we told Regency to bring Mog's ashes to the vet the next week and I will come personally to pick up. Next week arrives, 3/2, and the vet calls me to ask if I received Mog's ashes. Apparently Regency ignored my request and went ahead and shipped Mog's ashes...(1) without telling me, (2) without confirming my shipping address --they shipped to the wrong address!, and (3) ignoring the note on my file to NOT ship. Regency completely ignored the fact that cremains should NOT be shipped by any other carrier but USPS, and receipt of cremains should always be accompanied by a signature. We and our vet have spoken to Regency multiple times on 3/2. They said they will call us back but they never did. We still do not know where Mog is and we are heartbroken and devastated that we will never see him again. We are still grieving over his unexpected death (from a neutering anesthesia complication), and now it feels like we have lost him all over again. We do not know how to process how Regency could act in such an unprofessional manner. I caution everyone to avoid Regency. We trusted them with our kitten and they responded with disrespect and carelessness. read more

I had other issues with this place from almost the start; with their driver not picking up her body from the hospital for 3+ days, until I spoke to management to see what was going on!! I wouldn't recommend anyone use this place.... your pet deserves much better!! I am worried that I didnt even get the right dog back considering the paw print is NOT my dog. When I spoke to the manager she was condescending and tried to say that deceased dog prints come out that way, and my reaction is due to my grieving.... DON'T USE THIS PLACE! I finally have some strength to sit and write this review after losing my best friend of 15 years. I treat my pets as if they were humans. They are a huge part of our family and deserve the respect and love that we would extend to any family member during this difficult time. We knew that what we had planned would be costly but it didn't matter. We wanted him to feel comfortable and loved. We chose home euthanasia. We absolutely adore our veterinarian, but the stress of the car ride and seeing other animals etc., was not something we wanted to put him through. Everything at home went smoothly. It was very sad but it was also calm. We had the option to have the home vet take our boy to Regency, but chose to do it ourselves. Not only did we get to spend more time with him, but it moved the process along much quicker. Phone calls were made in advance to assure proper instruction upon arrival, and that too, went smoothly. We spoke with Carol who was to the point but also answered every question we had with knowledge and compassion. Our boy passed on Monday in the afternoon. We arrived, had everything processed and paid for before closing. April was at the front desk. She was also knowledgeable and kind. She said Ray would meet us outside to get our baby out of the car for us. Another gentle and caring employee who expressed his condolences while answering our questions. We chose to come back the next morning (Tuesday) for a private cremation and a quick unit viewing. This is not for the faint of heart. You go into a small enclosed room to see your pet through glass, while standing in front of the actual 'machine'. Brian came out to speak with us before going in to this room. He was so kind and obliged when we asked that something be put with our baby. He had him on a table, under some towels with his head propped as if he were sound asleep. As explained to us, there is a bar code/name tag that follows each pet throughout the process. It was in plain sight on the table, the machine, the bag of ashes, the urn...not much room for error if they pay attention. Which I felt they did every step of the way. We were given the option to see the remains exit the machine 3 hours later, but we chose not to. Instead we opted to pick him up in his urn upon completion. We paid extra for a photo urn. The paw print was also extra $ but we didn't need one, as the home vet provided us with that. As hard as all of this was on our hearts, Regency was thorough and we had our baby back home with us in less than 24 hours. Mostly in part to us bringing him ourselves, as opposed to someone doing it for us. I would like to thank Carol, Ray, Brian and especially April who upon checking us out at pick up, made another small gesture that she didn't need to do. I asked her for a hug and she was happy to give one. If you are reading this, I am sorry for your loss. It is truly one of the worst feelings ever. But if your fur baby is part of your family, go the extra mile for them. We will be paying off these bills for months, but there was no price tag on getting him back home where he belongs. Just make the calls, do the research and ask the questions. One last thing...we lost our kitty cat 5 months prior at the vet's office. We trusted them at the time with her transport to Regency. I had called then as well, to follow up every step of the way. Payment and everything was done over the phone and our baby was delivered back to the vet's office in less than a week. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CREMATORIUM IF YOU VALUE YOUR PET On January 2, 2021 I had to say goodbye to my 13 year old Jack Russell, Martini.  I called Regency Forest, as was recommended by my vet, to have him cremated.  I called them and ordered a Simply Series Walnut Urn along with a paw adornment and name plate.  A week later East Meadow Animal Hospital called and said they had Martini's remains. When I looked into the small shopping bag I learned that Regency Forest had sent the wrong urn. I quickly called and told them of the error.  They stated that they would order a new urn for me.  A week later I received the correct urn. I had to take the ashes out of the wrong urn and place them in the correct urn and return the incorrect urn to the Animal Hospital so that they may return it to Regency Forest.  I should have learned my lesson then. On January 28th, I had to say goodbye to Martini's mom, Jill.  I ordered the same thing.  A Simply Series Walnut Urn with Paw adornment and name plate.  I was expecting a call the following week as they stated that do pick up and deliveries on Thursday for this particular location.  I didn't get a call, so I called them. They said that due to weather issues, and we did have some bad weather that week, they were delayed and will have my delivery the following week.  I waited and no delivery. On February 25th I called Regency for an update on the order as I understood that there were weather related delays.  They advised that the urn and items mentioned above were there at the location and they would try to get them to the Animal Hospital the following week. On March 5th, The Animal Hospital called and said Jill's remains had arrived.  I went to the hospital to pick them up.  I knew something was out of order because the urn arrived in a cardboard box and my other pet's remains arrived in an urn nicely wrapped in bubble wrap and  purple tissue paper.  In addition, there was no certificate of Cremation. When I got home and opened the cardboard box I realized that they had ordered the WRONG urn AGAIN!!!  And it was very light in weight.  I opened the urn and to my horror, there were no ASHES!!!  I immediately called Regency.  The rude person that answered said she would look into the matter and get back to me shortly. While I waited for her call, I contacted the Animal Hospital just incase they had the ashes.  They checked and referred me back to Regency as they did not have the ashes. I then called Regency in the afternoon for an update and spoke with the "Manager" and advised her of what had transpired.  She assured me she would get this rectified.  I asked her about the ashes.  At this point I didn't care about the urn.  She asked that I return the wrong urn and include a letter explaining what had transpired.  I did.  I never heard back from her.  I then contacted my credit card company and filed a dispute.  The charge has been taken off my card.  Today, April 8th, I still have not heard from them. Thank God I took plenty of pictures of my little Jill. My heart is broken!  I'm devastated by the cruel way these uncaring people treated me and shocked by their lack of empathy! read more

Pet Owners - Please Read On November 27th, we unexpectedly had to put our sweet Bentley to sleep. Completely heartbroken is an understatement and will miss him beyond words. Regency Forest Pet Memorial Park is a well known pet cemetery and crematorium servicing Long Island, CT, and NJ. They pride themselves on treating you and your pet with care and compassion. Unfortunately, that was NOT our experience. We contacted Regency on November 30th to confirm they had picked up Bentley from the animal hospital. The staff was rude, had no compassion and rushed me off the phone. They could not confirm they had him. They stated they were under staffed and did not have his paperwork on their desk. (Ok, holiday weekend? Maybe that's why there's a delay. We will wait to hear) It took 5 days until someone called us back...all they wanted was our credit card payment. Losing a pet is losing a family member and we were treated as if this was a simple "transaction", as if we were shopping online. There was no empathy or regard for our feelings. Before being rushed off the phone, I asked when Bentley's ashes would be ready for pick up. The woman abruptly said "You will receive a call by the middle of next week" (Ok, so 12/11/20) By 12/17/20 we had not received any calls or emails so I sent an email to management. The general manager responded with a very basic apology and stated he had Bentley's ashes in his office. There was no explanation as to why no one called us. After reading many similar reviews from pet owners, something needs to be done! This is unacceptable for any type of business, especially for a funeral home. Humans or animals, it is still a funeral home and they are dealing with grieving families who consider their pets family. Lastly, they didn't even pay close enough attention to spell his name correctly on his death certificate. My hope is to make Regency Forest step up and do better! My 15 yr-old cat, Lilly, passed away on March 15. My furry shadow was gone. She was always so amazing and couldn't bear to part with her so I decided on a private cremation and have never done cremation before. VCM LI works with Regency Forest. They cremated her the very next day. The young lady on the phone was very sweet. I was able to pick Lilly up yesterday and finally bring my baby home. I was expecting a little tin based on the other reviews but what I got was a complete shock ... Lilly was encased in this beautiful cherry stained wood box where I can put a picture on the front of my beautiful Lilly. They also provided a gold plate for the front with her name engraved. Her cremains were wrapped in lavender paper. Inside the paper were her cremains along with a tag stating "Private" cremation and all our details. Thank you, Regency Forest, for everything. read more

regency Forest sucks, I have been a client of them since 1998, 35 cats cremated, I have been doing rescue for many years and recently had to retire due to cancer, I had a cat cremated last year, it was April 2022. The cost was $211.63. I got my 20% discount when I had my cat cremated. Yesterday I was told it was new ownership and the cost was $423.63 and I did not get my 20% discount that is an increase of $212 which is disgusting.. do not price gouge on the loss of a beloved, 17-year-old pet, I will never go to this pet cemetery again, You should be ashamed of yourselves, my cat last year weighed 6 pounds and the cat yesterday weighed 5 pounds so how can you justify a $212 increase? We always have had a good experience with our sad times bringing our pets for cremation. They were very kind and understanding for us.

Extremely disappointed with this place. This was the first time I lost a pet. We had to put our beloved dog of 14 years down a few days ago and the vet recommended this place for cremation services. I wish I had done more research for other pet memorials before signing the papers for this one. Over the phone, everything seemed to go smoothly but when I came in person for the private viewing and use of funeral home, I felt discriminated against as a POC by the girls at the front desk who were incredibly insensitive and nasty toward me and my family during this hard time. One of the girls even had the audacity to slam my dogs ashes on the table when I came to pick her up. At the same time, she was super friendly and warm to a white woman who walked in after us. I had to try so hard to hold my tongue and turn the other cheek. If it wasn't for my precious dog, this front desk bitch would've caught these hands. Brian, on the other hand, treated our dog's body with respect and dignity which is greatly appreciated. You would think that they would hire compassionate people to work here but I guess that only applies if you're white at this day and age. What a shame. read more

I am still waiting on the ashes of my rabbit Canelo. It's been 15 days. I am extremely worried that the ashes that I will receive are not from Canelo. There are so many incongruences in regards to "the date he was picked up from the hospital", "cremation date" and "the date he was supposed to be return". I would like to save anyone reading this from the stress that Regency may put you in if you choose to cremate your pet with them. Grieving a beloved pet and healing from it is tough but adding to that the uncertainty that the ashes you will receive are NOT from your pet is just inhumane. read more

I had to get my elderly mother's cat euthanized pretty quickly and ordered a private pet cremation. I didn't have much time to think about it because the cat was suffering and so I could not research the options. The vet I brought her to used this service so I paid for it trusting that it would be good. This happened in 2020 during COVID so it was even more stressful because of restrictions at the vet regarding pick-up and delivery. I got back a certificate with the cat's name misspelled and no tracking number on the certificate. Two years later, when I cremated my dog, I had the time to research and select an excellent crematory that did not misspell my dog's name. The certificate I received from the crematory that I picked also had a tracking number on it, reassuring me that my dog had been privately cremated and that I was indeed getting back my dog's ashes. The difference in how both cremations was handled made me feel a bit guilty about the cat's cremation. I wish the vet had picked a cremation service like the service that I had used for my dog's cremation. Why wasn't there a tracking number on the cat's certificate if it was a private cremation? Why did Regency misspell her name? Losing a pet is so hard. My advice is to research every crematory and don't automatically use the crematory your vet uses, even if you have to have another service come in and pick up your pet from the vet it is worth it for peace of mind to make that extra effort. The service I used for my dog was selected after weeks of researching a bunch of crematories. Do the research, read the reviews and don't automatically order the service from your vet because you do have the option of using your own choice. I wish I had know that then but I know it now and learned my lesson. read more

This place is great! I, unfortunately, lost one of my dogs last year and my vet suggested Regency Forest for burial. The folks here are very helpful and courteous. They not only give you a plot for your pet but they also have a small area for a wake. There is also a crematory that was recently renovated. The entire park is beautiful and well maintained. For $55 a year they provide landscaping and will also plant anything you want near your pet's plot. I was told the first time I visited that they do not only bury cats and dogs, they also do larger animals such as horses. It really is a great place and makes mourning the loss of a pet much easier. It's a bit out there on LI but it's worth the time and money. read more

But it is now " under new management" for the past few years, which I suppose implies different ownership, and the service is very different, not the same place at all. The previous wonderful reputation does NOT apply. I was going to buy a burial plot until the person on the phone told me they couldn't guarantee the permanence of the plot, that it could be dug up and replaced when they eventually run out of room. For a cemetery, it couldn't get much worse than that. read more

Losing one of your best friends is bad enough, but having to deal with their remains is something you don't generally think too much about. When our dog Mickey died suddenly, the animal hospital said that Regency Forest was their partner for cremation services. Not expecting to have to research something like this for quite a few more years, we didn't know anything about them, or any other company like them, so we were a little nervous. You only get one shot to do something like this the right way. Thankfully, the people at Regency Forest were really fantastic with us, and I couldn't recommend them higher. I called a couple of days before Mickey was scheduled to be cremated, and asked about the possibility of the private viewing. They gave me the details, but I decided that I couldn't bring myself to do it, so I told them to go ahead with the cremation as planned. The day before it was supposed to take place, I changed my mind and asked if I would still be able to come for the viewing. They said yes, and I made an appointment for later in the week. The day before the appointment, they actually called me to confirm that I wanted to come since I had spoken with two different people and given them two different answers. I really appreciated the follow-up. I also liked the fact that each time I called, I offered to give them the ID number that Mickey had been assigned, but they asked for her name instead. It might not seem like much, but it showed me that they really think of your pet as part of the family, and not just some tag on a body. The day of the appointment, I drove out to the facility, and was really pleased by what I saw. The grounds were well-maintained, the buildings were clean, and everyone was very understanding and friendly. A few minutes before the procedure, Brian came out to the waiting area and gave me the paw print I had requested. He told me which paw he made the imprint with, and gave me instructions on how to care for it over the first couple of days. After that, he walked me back to the cremation area, and gave me a brief description of what I was going to see and what he was going to do. He brought Mickey out, and I could tell that they had taken good care of her. She was covered by black towels, and even had one tucked under her head to keep it level with the rest of her body. He showed me that the chamber was empty and clean, picked her up, gently placed her in the chamber, and closed the door. I don't know how he's emotionally able to do a job like that every day because I was a mess just watching it, but I'm grateful that he does it. He helped send our little girl off in the most dignified way possible. I was given the option to wait or come back to pick up her ashes, and since it was a 3-hour procedure, I chose to come back later that afternoon. Everything was done as promised, and we brought our girl home. It seems like the reviews are all or nothing here, and I guess that makes sense since this is a very difficult thing to face. Without understanding each individual's circumstances, it's impossible to know what might have gone wrong or where, but we felt very comfortable with our experience at Regency Forest. They helped give us closure during a terrible time, and we'll always be grateful to them for that. read more

I requested a full refund after all the trouble. DO NOT USE the Regency family pet cremation In middle island located at 760 Middle Country Rd. They have had my dog for over a month and didn't ship him him due to an outstanding balance that our family didn't know about because NO ONE filled in a price and NO ONE from that office called to contact us. They said they would mail the remains in the mail. My dog passed away 3/26 and this place had him all this time . I see quite a few negative experiences with Regency Forest and it upsets me because my family and I had the complete opposite. This place is affiliated with our vet and he highly recommended it for my Yorkie, Snoop. Snoop passed 8/24//19 and was cremated on the 31st. ALL the staff were kind and compassionate, the guy who cremated Snoop was gently and asked me if I was okay. And when I went to pick up Snoop's ashes today, everything except the urn we ordered was there. They mailed out the urn to us free of charge and they even put some of my baby's ashes in my urn necklace which I bought off of Amazon. I'm sorry for everyone who had bad experiences because this place was phenomenal to me and my family. read more

My beloved shih tzu passed on July 29th I wanted a paw print and a individual creamation I received a call from vets office on Friday August 9th saying his pawprint was back I said what about his ashes I called Regency on Saturday August 10th spoke to Carol asking why the pawprint was back and not his ashes she asked my name and my dogs name and said this was a group creamation right I said no individual she said I have to go look at the paperwork she later called me back and said she has the paper in front of her and it was definitely a individual creamation she said they will be delivered on Monday August 12th I pick them up looked at paperwork it said he was cremated on July 1st so why wasn't everything delivered together I dont believe anything she said I dont think the ashes they gave me are my dogs I will never use this place again horrible experience. read more

Worst experience with a crematorium. My dog rapidly declined after being admitted into AMC at their recommendation I called Regency Forest. My other dog passed away in November and the crematorium that took care of her did a lovely job. Under great distress I trusted this place because it was recommended by AMC and I literally felt like I survived a war after watching my dog deteriorate in 5 days and pass away. I called and asked for a private cremation as well as a pawprint and I paid in advance. I didn't have a chance to research them because it all happened so quickly. When I initially spoke to them they said I would have my dogs ashes back in a week. My pup died on 3/15 I didn't get him back until 4/2. I called 3x to ask when I would get his ashes back, the first time I was told he would be there on Friday. On Friday I called and they said it will definitely be on Monday. Then on Monday it was definitely on Tuesday. I was given some excuse each time and the last time I was told it's because they're dropping his ashes off at my vets office and it's not on their usual route. Here's an idea, how about if it's a problem be honest in advance and get your dates right. Tuesday comes and the ashes are at my vets office, I go pick everything up and it is well presented until I opened it at home. The box has a tacky tag that I have to stick on myself and it was in the envelope. Then the worst part happened. I open the paw print and they clearly didn't do any quality control. The pawprint was light and smeared and covered in black velvet fiber from the holder, they never bothered cleaning it off. They also didn't include the clear cover to the pawprint (I know what it looks like since my other dog has the same exact holder from a professional institution). I was shocked when I saw what they sent to me, a dirty barely there pawprint. 14 years of my life and they took that remembrance from me, that's what hurts me the most because that's what I really wanted to have to remember my sweet boy. I managed to clean some of the black fiber off with a baby wipe since it was creepily still wet and I'm completely heartbroken. All they could muster up with a truly indifferent I'm sorry. You would think that people in this business would be more sensitive but what do they care they got the money and destroyed my remembrance, just another day at Regency Forest. I called the office to get the paw print cover and the woman I spoke to tried to act like what they sent me was normal but when I pressed she said she could send it to me ups. I called back later to speak with the manager and they didn't even bother making the ups tag or anything yet. The manager rudely put me back on the phone with the useless person I spoke to in the morning. I was under the assumption that they would've attempted to make it right and I didn't need to keep hand holding them but I got an insincere "sorry, we make mistakes" and have to beg for the cover that belongs with the case. My dogs pawprint is now in a ziplock freezer bag until I receive the cover, there's no closure however painful his death was this added on an extra layer of unnecessary aggravation and heartache. This place is seriously disgraceful and if you want a dignified place so you can have some closure don't go to these people, they just don't care at all. read more

My vet arranged to have a very expensive private cremation done of my beloved pet. I was HORRIFIED and cried when his remains arrived with my name spelled wrong and in a horrible 50-cent dime store tin sealed with tape without his or our name and no real evidence that it is indeed my pet's ashes. The cost of this HORROR was around $500. When I called, they offered to send a new paper certificate with our name spelled properly and tried to up-sell me with an expensive urn. Beware. Horrible people who take advantage of the grief stricken. Shame! read more

This is a full service memorial park for animals. They do everything from cremations to burials. Their crematorium also serves as a funeral parlor with clean rooms to hold wakes for your animals if you wish. I actually did not know places like this existed. I was very happy with my experience at Regency. read more

I just have to say... What an amazing group of people . The compassion they had for me when my pet passed away really helped in the process of saying goodbye to my best friend . Their pet memorial grounds and funeral home are absolutely beautiful and made me feel as if I gave Toby the goodbye he truly deserved. Absolutely beautiful from the inside out. Brian was so sweet and patient with my wishes for my dog, Lilly. I waited the whole time for the cremation process to be finished. He took me through every step of the way, was informing me of his every action with my dog. He was understanding and patient when I asked to have time alone with my dog before he cremated her. Even when he went to take her in for cremation I asked again if I could give her another last kiss on her nose. He never got annoyed nor rushed me.
