I love Middlebury Pizza for all that it is. Hometown vibes, local kids working, great thin crust pizza and the best Penne a la Vodka around.

Came in for some lunch on Sunday. The lunch special,veal parm was great. Served with a crisp salad (pictured) and with pasta of my choice. Very tasty and fresh. I can't believe I haven't wrote a review yet! I don't have pictures but will try to post them when I order again. My favorite pizza is half specialty #30 and half specialty #4. Got a few people hooked on this combo. When we're in the mood for a thicker crust and bit softer this is the place we order from. I also have had the chicken parm dinner and the chicken broccoli Alfredo dinner and both were delicious. Salads are always fresh too. I've ordered grinders, slices of pizza, wings, and all have been good. They are consistent every time we order so can't beat it. We have utilized their delivery option during the past month and they nail each order every time. I also burn my mouth every time because I am not used to delivered food being that hot. Middlebury pizza is timely, delicious, and priced fairly. We particularly enjoy the chicken dishes, chicken tenders, and grinders. We were in need of a place to eat and thankfully we drove by to find this gem! It is a nondescript spot within a rustic strip mall. We ordered a salad, the Italiano Pizza, and a side of french fries. The service was fantastic. We barely reached our table and we were immediately asked if we needed a high chair for our toddler. The food was (as our 3 1/2 stated) DELICIOUS! The pizza was out of this world! Better than most of the pizza we've had in New York City. The french fries have a special flavor to them as well. Best pizza in the area! Prices are extremely reasonable too! Extra large pizza (18") is only $15 with a topping! Thin crust, which is perfect when you add toppings. Inside atmosphere is very diner like, but with a community feel to it. Seating and parking are limited, but I always get mine to go. It's a classic pizza joint. Come in and there are probably 6-7 booths and some chairs - just enough for a very causal birthday party if need be. Or... Order to go. The place probably has 4-5 teenagers/young adults working the place (like any other pizza place). Prices are pretty reasonable - we are talking easily 45-50% the cost of Vinnies...and I think Middlebury Pizza has better pizza. I would say this place is The Pizza place of Middlebury. The pizza was decent but nothing to rave about. I'm not familiar with the area so I'm not sure of any other locations but what Middlebury Pizza had to offer definitely hit the spot. We ordered the everything pizza and it was good but and the crust was not too thick. The service could have been better. They had 4 employees sitting around and not one of them heard us when we asked for a refill until we yelled for their attention. I didn't know how many stars to give this operation. I've been a good customer since they opened (many years ago) and always liked their pizza. Recently I have had it delivered, as they offer, and always tip generously. The other day I ordered a custom pizza with shrimp on it, as I often do, and I expect to pay extra for it. For whatever reason, the pizza arrived without the shrimp. I called back, and the waitress was courteous and asked if I wanted a credit or a new pizza with the shrimp. I asked for a new pizza with the shrimp and agreed to return the one without the shrimp. I thought it was in process, but about 10 minutes later I received a call, and it sounded like the owner. He started yelling at me and telling me how much it cost him to do this and I should have ordered the shrimp in the first place. Of course he was not the one who received the order in the first place. He was so argumentative that I told him to forget about it. But I won't forget about it. I'm never going to give them my business again. It would have been nice if this place offered some standard items on their menu which are a little healthier than what they do, so it's not confusing for the staff to to vary from the menu. A friend and I stopped by on our way to Lake Quassy, and ordered a medium pizza to eat in the restaurant. After half an hour with no pizza, we asked about the wait and were told that it normally takes 40 minutes from order to pizza, whether for eat-in or take-out, and that if you want to be served faster you have to call ahead. Sure enough, it took the full forty minutes, and I think it might have taken even longer if we hadn't asked. We did notice that people who ordered foods other than pizza were served a lot faster. I've eaten in a lot of pizza places, but never one where it took forty minutes to get a pie on the table. Because of the long wait, we missed the last boat ride at Lake Quassy, which is what we were primarily going for. It seemed like a normal evening at the restaurant, and the staff looked like it was business as usual, not like they were run off their feet. So I guess they were telling the truth when they said that 40 minutes is their normal wait time from order to actual pizza. So maybe they should warn pizza customers that it's going to take awhile. The pizza itself was fine, although nothing to write home about. Lots of interesting topping combos on the menu, and the one we chose was good, except that the toppings were sparingly applied and rather dry. Their prices are better than most other pizza places - their largest combo pizza is $17 and change. I have lived in Middlebury for about 15 years. A couple years ago, I refused to order from MP (Middlebury Pizza). The pizza never tasted good and the salad never had that "crisp" taste to it. I'm really picky about my pizza and will usually only ever order it from places I have had before and/or tasted their pizza at some time. Within the last couple weeks my dad has ordered pizza from here twice. And I will say what a HUGE improvement. I don't know if they got new people, new management, or what but their pizza is now amazing. The crust is perfect and their salad portions are HUGE. I can eat one piece and the salad and be SO content and happy. I definitely have no complaints and the pricing is right around other pizza places and/or maybe slightly better. I would recommend this place for a quick take out meal. I have never eaten at the restaurant so I can't say how their service is there, but the take out is a must! read more
