Beautiful inside and out, and the family in charge of the house (Mama Rosemary and her daughter Rebecca) are as sweet and accommodating as can be. This led to not too much flexbilitiy in our itin, extra back track driving, &2 nights desperate for lodging that was affordable partially due to a host overbooking and not letting me know in advance that she would sell her rooms before letting me know if i might want to extend our stay, etc. As we came when it was "prime" weekend (Columbus long weekend) it compounded to our problem of hunting for a place. After going to B'ton for a quick bite, we were relieved to get out as it seemed the entire town was in b'ton. We ended up finding this place on CL after I contacted 10-12 places that were not affordable to us. This is a simple inn in a small town out of nowhere with a communal kitchen. (big plus for us being able to cook breakfast & dinner--makes u kinda homey esp after many days away from home & most ppl like the kitchen access). It is not in those typical touristy town so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't for you. There is a "general store" across the street, which we didn't get a chance to check out as we had extra food we brought over. It's a very quiet town. There are probably 5 rooms or so, a little sitting area, a long table in the "dining area" and so you would be able to meet some fellow travelers while you eat your meal. In the mornings travellers congregate in the morning to make their coffee, tea, and breakfast so you will have ppl to chat with. They have rooms w/ shared communal bathrooms (sold out) so we got the rooms w/ bathrooms. There are 31 chickens in the backyard and some ducks and so you get to have free range self-cooked eggs in the mornings. The room was a decent size with a queen sized bed. It got to be a cold in early Oct when we were there. No heat but you could ask for extra blankets. Rooms have 2 windows which is nice as I like to get some fresh air and air out the room during my stay.

The service was friendly, attentive, and prompt from the moment we sat down. We started with some incredible cocktails and shared the smoked maple flash-fried Brussels sprouts, which were outstanding. Between the four of us, we had the Filet Mignon, Iberico pork tenderloin, day boat scallops, and the lemongrass-infused striped bass. Every single dish was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. It's rare that everyone at the table loves what they ordered, but that was definitely the case. Chef Dylan Taylor's new menu is fantastic, and it really shows. Everything felt fresh, creative, and thoughtfully prepared without being overdone. The dining room is elegant but still feels warm and comfortable. And a special shoutout to owner George, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. From the food and cocktails to the service and atmosphere, everything was spot on. We can't wait to come back and would highly recommend the Pitcher Inn if you're in the Mad River Valley.

Dinner started with an anchovy amuse-bouche that had a nice savory taste. They even offered a free glass of champagne for my birthday. The grilled octopus was nice and light, and the cauliflower was okay with the dish. It was a smaller potion, but left room for the remaining courses. The tagliatelle was cooked well and the tomatoes and mushrooms added nicely to the dish. This was a nice sized portion, and definitely filling. The chocolate raspberry tart was more on the chocolatey side. Maybe my least favorite course from those I had, but nonetheless still good. The check came with petit four which was a nice touch. My waiter, Sergiu, was delightful and made me feel welcome the entire time. I really enjoyed my dinner here and would look to return.

The room we stayed in was very clean with a little view into the woods. Beds were comfy and the shower had good pressure. I did wish there were a desk or additional bedside tables as we quickly ran out of surface space to keep our things on. The only space available was one bedside table, a very small shelf with half of it taken by a lamp, and the top of the microwave. Nonetheless, it was a very pleasant stay and the breakfast offerings were great for those looking for a little sometime before hitting the road.

Instead the owner acted mentally unstable and was STILL unable to communicate properly. Do NOT book this established. - I would not recommend booking here. My husband and I recently booked The Warren Falls Inn and stayed with our infant and one other adult. We originally only booked a night for our family ( 2 adults and 1 infant). The same night as our stay, we added 1 adult via our air b and b check-in. We paid an additional fee for our guest. Before we added our additional guest, my husband and I made sure to message the host to ask if she received our payment. The answer was yes, with no other details. Three days after our stay (today) I opened an email with a money request of $90 from the host, saying that we needed to pay another fee for our room usage not just our guest. This was never mentioned to us during the process of adding on our additional guest. After trying to discuss the matter with the host, since it was and is very confusing. She deiced to insult me via air b and b messenger. The Owner is not friendly and has very poor customer service skills. The house was very clean and in a very pretty location.
