this review is aside from the waiting room because they have no control over how many people fill the room at a given time but once my daughter was called back she was treated EXCELLENT with loving kindness in a very calm kid friendly manner. She was tested for what we suspected she may have had plus more that the PA suggested. The MA that roomed us and got her vitals was so incredibly sweet to my daughter. We got our test results texted to us very quickly and this was all on a Sunday!I feel very fortunate to have Middletown Medical Urgent Care here close to home. read more

VJ Pampana should be fired. I was warned by several people in the medical field not to see Pampana because they've had so many patients who have have bad experiences with him. I didn't take their advice because he's the only local neurologist. I took two children to him for neurological issues and he sent them both to rheumatology. When they were cleared by rheumatology and their symptoms worsened I took them back to him and he diagnosed them with non-epileptic seizures. He gave me no action to take and no advice on where to research this condition. When I asked what I'm going to do because I can't keep carrying my son everywhere he said "lots of people live with seizures." He did not offer a wheelchair. At a later appointment I told Pampana I've been doing research and realized that he only diagnosed one of my children's symptoms, but that functional neurological disorder seems to explain all of the other symptoms, and I asked him what he thought about that. He stared at me in silence until I changed the subject. I assume is because he doesn't know anything about functional neurological disorder and didn't want to tell me that. When my youngest son began to have the same symptoms I took him to Pampana and he dismissed us saying "if he were really in pain it wouldn't come and go, it would continually get worse so this is not a real physical problem." (not how this disorder works, just like that's not how headaches work. headaches come and go, but they are real.) I told him this since is having the same symptoms as my other children who he diagnosed. He said "The disored your other children have is very rare (which is false) and it doesn't run in families (also false) so it's unlikely that you would have another child with the same condition." When I called to tell him, my son has begun to have daily seizures. I was told it's just stress. I asked if he could walk me through that thought process because my son's psychiatrist says he isn't showing any signs of stress and his symptoms don't seem to match that diagnosis. The doctor responded only with "you can take him to rheumatology." When I made the appointment for the EEG two staff members shamed me for taking "so lone" to make the appointmen despite knowing that I have a high deductible and have to pay for tests out of pocket and their office doesn't offer a payment plan. I was asked why I'm not doing the other tests the doctor recommended And I explained that I can't pay for all of them so I chose the one that I felt was the most important. I also mentioned we're looking for a second opinion from a different neurologist before I spend hundreds of dollars on a test that doesn't make sense to me. Later I got a call saying the EEG is being canceled and we are being dismissed as patients Because the doctor was offended that I told his staff that we're looking for a second opinion which implies that he's a bad doctor. This man knows my son is having multiple seizures every day and is being hurt by them. He knows he can't go to school because of them and he knows it will take us three months to see a new neurologist, yet he canceled the EEG days before the appointment because he was offended. If he doesn't care about the safety and well-being of his patients then why is he a doctor? It gives the impression that he's only doing this for the money. I also think it's suspicious that he would dismiss us as we're getting a second opinion, which makes me think he knows the tests he ordered are unnecessary. I later received a letter in the mail saying that we're being dismissed as patients but for the next 30 days he will honor our upcoming appointments and in order to give us time to find a new doctor. This is after he canceled all of our upcoming appointments, including the EEG. The paperwork also states that they will release our medical records if I come in and fill out a release form. I don't know why I have to fill out a SECOND release form after dropping the others off in the office. Please don't waste your energy on this man who seems to not know what he's talking about in his own field and not care about his patients. Anyone who cancels an appointment that can help a suffering child because his ego was bruised does not deserve to be a doctor. read more

Depends on who your Drs are. I have Dr Simpson as my primary, and she's great. My neurologist, Dr Napchan, is great too. It's very hard to get prescriptions refilled, possibly because they are so busy or aren't getting the messages. I dearly love the cardiac rehab team, too. I would never switch. I personally would never come here. The place is old and dingy looking. The first time I went here was for a physical for a job. It was many years ago and was a long wait, even with an appointment. The physical was literally like 2 minutes long too. I went with my friend to urgent care last week because her 2 year old was sick and we ended up waiting 2 in a half hours to see a doctor! They did not have nearly enough staff, the nurses were very nice and kept apologizing but the doctor was kinda rude I thought. To keep a sick baby screaming with 104 fever for 2 hours who is afraid of the doctor on top of being sick is insane and then the doctor was frustrated with my friends daughter because she was crying, screaming and pushing her away! Which I get, we were all frustrated and crabby 2 hours later but what do you expect dealing with a sick 2 year old. Bottom line... even if you have an appointment time, you most likely will be waiting over an hour to see a physician. read more

Doctors and nursing staff are knowledgeable, kind, professional and client focused. The facility is decent and seems to be getting/ have gotten some updates within the last year or so. Generally kind faces and humans once inside the offices and urgent care facility. Unfortunately, the new call center system/staff - the whole bit is just not good. Causing the quality of care this facility provides to decreased over the last several months to a year. Communication with the offices is frustrating when having to call the main call center line as the level of service/quality I've come to value, appreciate and expect from the Middletown Medical facility is no longer on brand. The quality of customer service prior to even seeing any staff or visiting the facility is a turn off. No thank you. I had an appt. for stress test. Upon checking in the receptionist had an attitude. Like I was bothering her. After waiting for nearly an hour. I asked an other employee about the wait. He found out then after a few minutes I was brought to the back. I was set up for the stress test on the treadmill and left standing there hooked up. He says I will be right back. The phone finally reported them to Medicare. Medicare advised me not to pay the bill because middletown medical is under investigation so stop harassing me until this all gets resolved went to cardiologist totally neglected to read a report went for second opinion elsewhere thank God I did because this practice would've killed me. Today I went to see Dr. Podeszwa @ two Edgewater and I have never felt so insignificant by a physician as I did today. I was called not once but twice while at work requesting that I try to come in early then my set appointment. I informed them that I was over an hr away but I would try to arrive sooner. I managed to get there 15 min before my appointment. When I entered the room the assistant asked me some questions and then left. She reentered and told me that the Dr looked at my file gave a diagnosis and said to go see my previous dr. This Dr. couldn't even peak his head into the room to say hi. This was the most unprofessional bedside manner to say the least. After I left I received a text that my appointment was canceled. I'm so upset and disappointed that this behavior is allowed at middletown medical. I have had good experience with them until today. read more

While some of the staff are great for example, Brandi in the neurology department, the facilities are awful. The front staff is also not the best. I was late for my appointment but had tried to call and say I was stuck on 84 because there was a car accident that literally had me one exit away for close to an hour but no one picked up. When I did get to the neurologist's office they said they only took patients 15 minutes late, I was 19 and that I would have to reschedule. And that they were just slammed with 4 patients. Since I have to leave work early to make these appointment I was very upset, especially since I was in so much pain. No one cared and it was awful. I have chronic pain and the fact that they wanted me to just deal with it but could see those other patients shows what type of place this is! Update: Made an appointment for the next week and they called me that day to see if I would like to come in at an earlier time. I said sure thinking it would allow me to use more of my day but instead was kept waiting for an hour. I'm glad they probably got to leave work earlier but it was a total waste of my time! I've been going here for a number of years and I posted a 5-star review in the past. My experience recently warrants a 0-star review. My primary complaint is regarding the bureaucratic apathy of staff when I am trying to get an issue resolved. Specifically regarding a refill. Two weeks of calling and still unable to resolve the issue. Also feel like no one listens to the patients anymore. It has become a matter of treating the ailment but not about treating the patient Left a message for the owner, Dr. Gulati. Not sure if this will change anything. Meanwhile, I am finding other doctors in the area. Phone staff are apathetic. Very quick to blow you off when there is an issue. The experience used to be good. I went into radiology at Middletown Medical at 111 Maltese Middletown New York and had a bone scan done to determine the condition of my bones... The radiologist was excellent everything was explained and all my questions were answered The appointment was scheduled everything was done on a timely basis I just want to say that Middletown Medical runs a very well organized schedule given all that they have to do even in just one day And occasionally over the years I have had to wait at times but there is always a reason I'm sure it is a place where there are emergencies happening and people run late which causes them to be late there are other factors involved so I always take that into consideration Middletown Medical and all its facilities are definitely an asset for us in this area I give them an a+ read more

These people repeatedly ignored issues with her leg and back, repeated lung infections, and abnormal blood work because it was "close to range" and missed a huge cancer diagnosis of which she passed away from complications. These people get you in and out as quickly as possible, and it's clear from the visit summaries they don't listen to a word you say. All for the almighty dollar. Shameful. read more

They should be more efficient with their appointments due to COVID - as it's not comfortable waiting and waiting and waiting amongst other people while wearing a mask. Just had my first appointment and experience at the Middletown Medical 111 Maltese Dr. Middletown, NY. My appointment was with Dr. John Carey. Upon arrival I was greeted by the intake staff. This lady which I wish I would of taken her name was beyond professional. After filling out some standard medical forms, I was immediately taken to an examination room by one of the medical staff members. Once again I wish I had asked this young lady's name as she was very professional as well. She took my vitals, recorded some health history and drew some blood work. All of this was done with the utmost professional bedside manner. I was then greeted and examined by Dr. John Carey. He reviewed my medical history and made many suggestions about my future long term care. This is exactly what I have been wanting from my primary care professional. I must have spoken to this gentleman for more than about a half hour. Prior healthcare places have taken forever to see these individuals and once you're inside they hurry you out. Well that did not happen today. I highly recommend Dr. Carey as you will be treated with the highest degree of professionalism. Thank you to all at Dr. Carey's office for a job well done. read more

I had a appt with Lori. She's a nurse practitioner can't even say to spell her last name!lol I just wanted to say that she was somebody that you could talk to be honest and felt comfortable with. She gave me all the answers that I needed. I feel very confident in her and I can't wait for my next appointment with her. She's very thorough with all the tests she wanted done. If there are more doctors or nurse practitioners like her in the world the medical field would really be such a better place. I could go on and on but I was petrified when I went there today and I left there feeling so much more confident and trusting in her so I'll give you an update in the week and let you know how it all worked out but I don't see anything but positive. And also what I loved was she was not gonna let me leave there to go go home and not know what was gonna happen in the next couple days not to get too personal with my situation but that really put at ease with something that had me scared to dearth, no Exaggeration! After the way my father was treated specifically by Dr.Doshi at the 2 Edgewater Drive location today at his appointment he will not be returning to this awful facility, his appointment was for 1:00 P.M. this afternoon which he did arrive promptly with my brother however he had to wait an hour before he was even able to see the Doctor first and foremost, second this Dr. Doshi was only concerned with who brings my Father to his appointment which should be the LEAST of his concerns, he does not care about the patient, he shows no compassion whatsoever, and is not understanding at all. What he was initially supposed to be doing today during the appointment was going over the various different heart device options that my father could get done via surgery to help his heart and explain each specific one to him in great detail as well as show him video's on them which he did NONE of these, I personally spoke with his Nurse a few weeks ago and confirmed with her via Telephone that this was what was going to be done for my Father before making a decision on having surgery especially at his age of 88. Because of how he treated my father today our family has decided to go research finding a new Cardiologist for my Father, to get a second opinion and also someone who takes their job as a Medical Professional serious, actually cares about their patients, has compassion for their feelings ,listens and is understanding. Dr. Doshi is a horrible doctor and person overall and I would NEVER recommend his service to anyone and he will NEVER see my Father ever again! Worst experience with a doctor by far. read more

I've used urgent care several times since I move to this area eight years ago. I've had a colonoscopy there and feel very satisfied with that service. What was superior was the analysis of and care plan for excruciating back pain caused by my sacroiliac. An MRI/CT, I can't exactly recall, ordered by Dr. MacDougal(?) and read by him, led me to Middletown Medical PT(read other review) and eventual recovery. What is not a 4star performance lies at the door of the rest of urgent care. If you make an appointment you may get seen at your appointed time but without one, bring a book. The fact remains that the doctors are very good. You don't go there with true ER cases but for everything else it is a good place to get treated. However, I went in on Monday morning with gastrointestinal issues and since I could get to see my regular gastro doctor in Two Months I went to MM Urgent care. With an appointment I was seen about 1/2 hr after that time. Four rapid tests were done and the 48 hr Covid test was done. Dr. Besler wrote a script for an abdominal CT scan, to be done after the results of 4 stool sample tests results came back. I found out the evening that the samples had not even been picked up for testing! That rates No Stars! I'm gradually recovering but what if this had been more serious.....an ER visit at 2:00 am. You are the absolute worst. You were horrible 20 years ago and you are horrible today. The Dept of Health referred me to you for a Pfizer booster. I was not thrilled but hey is only a shot, you can't mess that up right? I called last week, explained that my 6 months would be Oct 20 but I'm going out of the country 3 days later and could I get it a week prior? The scheduler said yes, that's fine. Made an app for 4pm today. Today comes and it really wasn't so much an appt. It was come here and herd into a parking lot with 50 other people who have 4pm appts and wait an hour until one of the 2 people giving shots got to you. Funny, when I was making the appt I told the scheduler I had to work at 5 and would that give me enough time. Oh, yes, you'll be in and out. So to summarize I waited an hour, leaving my dog in a running car with the ac on. 5pm I'm sitting to get the shot. The nurse noticed I'm 9 days away from 6 months. When I said I told the scheduler I'd be about a week early she said the scheduler isn't medical personal and I should have spoken to someone else. Seriously? Perhaps you shouldn't have uninformed people answering your phones. Also this whole public review could have been avoided had I not wasted another hour trying to get someone in the phone about this but was instead transferred to full voice-mails, non existent people etc. You are the absolute worst. I've called Middletown Medical 5x today to discuss billing for an annual visit that I was not supposed to be charged for and even on the billing it says my annual is free. I was pushed to voice mail all morning and when I finally reach someone they just abruptly transfer me to random voice mail box repeatedly with no explanation. I could barely understand them with their accents. Sounds like it's just an answering service abroad in India with no one able to assist. They've even said, "Oh I can't see your account because I'm working remotely." Not quite sure what's going on or whether this is legit or not. I would give my service a zero. When asked to speak with a Supervisor I again was cold transferred to Shabiba who was very rude and short. I asked for documentation of being billed for a "deductible" as she stated I was, which is not noted on the statement, and then she recanted her statement and then wanted to transfer me to someone else???? What is going on Middletown? I'm very concerned of your call center practices. Why send me a statement stating my annual check up is free and then charge me $184.30??? Wow. Came in around 8:30p on a Friday night for an ear infection. The front desk people were so friendly, and helpful. I had left my insurance card and license behind in my haste to get to the facility. My sister exited me photos of the ID's and the staff gave me no issues. They were truly there to help. I was immediately called in, the nurse was doing her ppw and asking questions. Then another one nurse came in and offered to help. She took vitals and swabbed me for a strep test because I had no voice and other symptoms. She wanted to be prepared for the doctor and actually thought ahead. Both nurses worked together so nicely, they smiled and spoke to my husband and I as of the genuinely cared. We laughed and they truly made me feel better. As if my first 2 encounters were not good enough, the Dr. comes in and is smiling and looks fresh and ready to help me ease the pain. I start telling her the 4 day saga of why I was there now, at first she was typing trying to keep up. Then she stopped, and listened to the whole thing to make sure she listened and then input the appropriate information. She checked me out, noticed immediately I had an inner and outer ear infection. Asked more questions to see if the issue was contained or if more was going on. She seemed to genuinely care. By the end we were talking about my kids, our husbands and how we curse too much but we are all just real ppl. The prescription is then sent to rite aid who's 'pharmacy hours' said open till 10p but SURPRISE the pharmacy closed at 9. At this point I'm in tremendous pain in my jaw, ears, throat. I'm calling every pharmacy in Orange County (by the way upstate sucks!! How is there not even a single pharmacy open past 9?!??). We throw a Hail Mary and call Urgent Care back to see if they had ANYTHING to start treatment until we could pickup the prescription. The front desk (Shamika) who was so helpful and friendly the first time I met her, placed us on hold and must have tracked down the dr. Within a few minutes of holding she confirmed we could come back and they could start me with 1 antibiotic tonight. Then 12 hrs later I could get my prescription from Rite Aid and start treatment. I walk in and a new staff member I had not met, somehow recognized me and knew exactly what I was there for. She gave me the antibiotic she had waiting for me while she juggled some equipment and again with a smile made me feel like every single person there cares about every patient. This place wasn't just a good facility that cared. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND at so many points throughout my visit. The truly worked as a team between all levels. It's a shame I live in Long Island and ended up in this Urgent Care while visiting my mom this weekend. If only LI had a Facility around me 1/2 as genuine and helpful as Middletown Medical Urgent Care, I would be so appreciative. I hate to come to Middletown medical. We been waiting for Ct scan results almost 3 hours and still waiting. In total been here for 5 hours so far. This is unacceptable. I heard the nurse called and the guy who was in radiology was not even there. Then when he answer 30 min later saying he was heating out the food and still no results. The doctor asked for that more than 3 times. This is unacceptable. Supposedly the technician who reads the ct scans haven't do it yet. Like wtf!!! Why You guys are are not calling another technician. Went to Middletown Medical after hours and no Dr was on duty. Ended seeing nurse practitioner, Ms Samantha Surace, found her to be lacking basic bedside manner. During the visit, I inquired about a former Doctor that worked there and found Ms Surace's negative comments about him extremely unprofessional. She ended up suggesting that I take over the counter medication, totally defeating the purpose of going to Urgent Care and paying a co-payment. I will never go back to Middletown Medical if she is working. I will be contacting this facility to make a formal complaint. read more

Damacharla on the 19th and must say that he is a miracle worker. after suffering 40+ yrs with headaches, after seeing neurologist several visits later saw Damacharla and in one visit diagnosed and treated me. His office staff made me feel like I knew them already. I give Middletown Medical 5 thumbs up. They are my miracle workers. Thank you for your knowledge and courtesy.
