These people don't answer their phone calls. I was on hold for almost an hour just to ask a simple question, and no one ever responded -- just their ridiculous recording saying, "You are number one in line and will be seen shortly." That never happened. After waiting nearly 40 minutes, I hung up. Then they started sending me text messages asking me to call the same number again. I tried once more, and again there was no response. And they're offering primary care doctors? With that kind of service -- a big NO. Thank you very much. Nightmare. The staff and assistants are clueless in terms of wait times, appointments, anything. The PA who intook me answered my questions twice with the question: "what happendt??" Instead of saying 'what' or 'excuse me' she replied to my questions with "what happendtt??" And I hate to judge but her tacky long fingernails were in the way of even taking my blood pressure (you get the vibe) Also the PA's - yes more than one- don't know what Doxycycline is. They are working in Hells Kitchen... maybe the gayest neighborhood in the world, but they haven't heard of the drug, which a staple for STD prevention. The lead physician, Dr Palli, is nice enough, but he's not up for the job. I heard him from my exam room berating an assistant about Yelp reviews....ironic yes. AVOID AT ALL COSTS: This morning, I was scheduled for a 10 AM Telehealth appointment (a follow up to an appointment where I was given testing), yet no one contacted me or started the meeting until 12:30 PM. By that time, I was no longer available, as you can imagine. This is not the first time I've encountered such negligence from this urgent care. Last week, I had a 5:30 PM Telehealth appointment to discuss test results, but I was unable to reach anyone until 6:30 PM--after calling over 12 times. During that hour, my calls were either ignored or disconnected multiple times before I was finally able to speak with a provider. I advise anyone in the Hell's Kitchen area to avoid this urgent care location. It is completely unacceptable and deeply disrespectful to leave patients in the dark, especially when dealing with their health. The staff was unprepared and did not have the proper equipment to efficiently care for my injured hand. I left with a stint that was too large, untapped gauze and loose stitches. The other aspect that felt completely unacceptable, unnecessary and inappropriate was the nurse asking me if I'd like to join their "weight loss program". Came here for my COVID vaccine booster back in September 2021. They had both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available, and appointment booking online was super easy. When I arrived, I was asked to fill out some forms, and I waited about 10 minutes before I was seen and vaccinated. Overall, the process was easy, but I think it could have saved some time with online check in forms. Also, this place incessantly called me and emailed me after my visit for "follow up," and they "required" that I follow up with a provider, even when I declined the first time. It became such a nuisance that I had to call their customer service to tell them to stop contacting me. More trouble than it's worth. I can't speak for other urgent care issues, such as acute illness or COVID testing, but for the vaccine, it was quite easy. If they stop harassing their patients like a telemarketer would, they could be even more successful. read more

Avoid this place at all cost and go to CityMD 57 instead. This clinic charges copay even when your insurance covers all costs. I called my insurance and the customer service rep told me they are really not supposed to make those charges. In order to be reimbursed, I would need to either submit a reimbursement request myself or the provider (Statcare) must submit a claim. The insurance company instructed me to ask Statcare if they would submit a claim. I called and was told no. If they are not submitting a claim why did they copy my insurance card?? So my only option was to submit a reimbursement request myself, and I would need an itemized invoice from Statcare. Who would have thought that providing a receipt was difficult?? Other places send you digital invoices automatically after your visit, but not Statcare. I had to go in and spend 30 minutes in the waiting room while the staff learned to use their computer, the first 10 minutes of which were spent by the clueless Adis Music who couldn't locate me in the system even though I went in that same day. After Adis gave up and a different staff member found me, they couldn't provide an itemized invoice showing how much I paid for each service. THEY ENDED UP PRINTING MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT FROM SQUARE. Seriously wtf. They do not have their shit together. What's worse is that their front desk person was literally the only one in the waiting room not wearing a face mask, in violation of the state's mandate. This clinic is dangerous. Exemplary Care, Exemplary Facility This was the second time I've been to MiDoctor (Third Ave./71 St.), the first having been a year and a half ago; yet again, I was extremely pleased with the EXCELLENT care and service I received in this wonderful medical facility. The physician whom I saw this time, Dr. Zachary Cohen, could not have been more attentive, knowledgable, clear, or caring. Dr. Cohen patiently took time to listen as well as explain, and there was no question in my mind that I was being treated by a physician who genuinely cared about my health and me as an individual. He even had me come for a follow-up appointment so he could check on me, as well as review subsequent test results with me. I was impressed, and appreciative. The clinic is immaculate, with a comfortable and "soothing" waiting area. MiDoctor clearly has gone out of its way to maximize comfort and meet the needs of patients. Went here for our first vaccine shot. Was a bit worried since we haven't been there before and hadn't heard of it, but we're pleasantly surprised! We came a few minutes before our appointment and were quickly checked in, got our shot then waited the obligatory 10 minutes to make sure we didn't have any negative reactions. Staff was very professional, friendly and kind and office was super clean. In hindsight, we were so grateful to get our vaccine in a comfortable and pristine, smaller office vs a large convention centre or drug store but at this point we'd get it anywhere - but this was easy and totally not stressful. Tried to get on Apretude (injectable Prep) and went in to their Hell's Kitchen facility and met with the doctor and she advised me that they needed lab work to verify i can take the drug. The first day experience was fine...very efficient. But after is where the nightmare started...they said it would take a few weeks to a month to get pre authorization and i would call them to find an update and no one ever can give me a straight answer. After a month i got an automated message saying to come in to see the doctor ...i thought finally i will get the injection...i go there and all they did was read out the lab results which i already got online weeks ago...no Apretude injection. they charge my insurance like $375 for that. Ever since then i have been calling and no one seems to ever have an update on when i will get the medication. read more

Making appointments was easy, but avoid getting your PCR testing and another test performed during the same appointment because they will only only release when all the test results become available. I find that to be very odd since I specifically asked the doctor for the turnaround time on the PCR as it was needed for traveling. Luckily I got another PCR test at the CTS mobile test after not hearing back from the office. They also scheduled a follow up video appointment without my consent/acknowledgment even if the test result was negative. read more

Lipovic stabbed my arms with needles then said she couldn't give me a physical because she wasn't my primary care doctor but I think it was because my race and because the way I was dressed and the form that I needed her to fill out! She told me she needs to drug test me for a physical when this is incorrect which was profiling me because of my race..I will be suing this office for discrimination! She wrote up a bogus notes in my discharge papers such as I didn't want the physical or a drug test then after confronting her about the notes she caved in and gave me a physical. After 2 day I went back to have my physical papers filled out and doctor Palli told me that I need to pay 25$ which is bogus my insurance doesn't require deductibles or copays I have reported them to my insurance and hopefully they will be banned from the 1199 network! LOCAL PHARMACIES WILL NOT ACCEPT PRESCRIPTIONS FROM THEIR DOCTORS. I WONDER WHY? I called and had my daughter's prescription sent to our pharmacy. When I went to pick up the prescriptions there was no record of the prescriptions being called in. I called a second time and was told that the prescriptions were called in to a different chain pharmacy which I never deal with. The prescriptions were sent to this chain but were at a different location. 4 calls to this doctors office and 3 locations later, I finally got my daughters medications. Not a good experience. I booked an appointment with the DOCTOR as I needed to find a new Primary Care Provider since moving to the city. When I arrived, I realized the place is also an urgent care, and I was treated like an urgent care patient. (Even though it also says Primary Care, and the doctor is listed that way online.) Part of the reason I picked this place was because the doctor seemed to have good reviews, and their website said they were on the cutting edge of technology. Technology, where?The nurse scribbled down a few notes on a ripped off piece of paper. No laptop or tablet in sight. Then walked out of the room and proceeded to repeat everything I just said to a Physician's Assistant, who then came in and asked me to repeat everything yet again. Neither seemed to be very interested in what I had to say, and I didn't get the feeling I was being taken seriously or being taken care of. The nurse gouged me several times trying to take blood. They didn't have the appropriate sized needles to take blood from a person's hand. At one point she put in the needle, rooted around in my hand for 2-3 minutes like she was performing a liposuction procedure and then took the needle out and used the SAME NEEDLE to try and draw blood from somewhere else. My main priority was to get my iron levels tested, and they ran a battery of other tests - some I've never even heard of before (that I think are for pregnant women) - but failed to do the one test I asked for. No one ever called or e-mailed to follow up about my test results even thought they were out of range. But out of everything, it irritates me the most that I scheduled an appointment with a doctor, and just saw a Physician's Assistant, no doctor, for my annual wellness exam. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I joined Forward Healthcare as a direct result of my terrible experience with this place, and I've been very pleased with their service and care so far. Service and experience was great, but for some reason they didn't charge me my copay. Honestly, I'm pretty worried that they'll do something funky in the billing. This place is really great. It is 5 mn from my apartment so I go there for my COVID tests, and I had my 2 vaccines there, the 2nd one last night at 6 PM. Before I left, I asked the Doctor if there were any extra doses available as my friend needed to get vaccinated (70 y.old). There were a few extra vaccines so my friend and her nephew were able to get vaccinated! Very grateful. The staff is extremely nice and helpful! Avoid this urgent care and visit one of the local CityMD locations instead. MiDoctor is a greedy business staffed by incompetent children. Even after payment has been collected, they will continue to send you bills for amounts you do not owe. In another review, you'll see Kyle experienced this as well. Their billing department is deficient. In their lobby, they advertise a variety of "infusions" (water and other compounds delivered intravenously). Instead, you should drink water and eat healthy foods; it has the same effect. I have seen patients complain of delayed medication refills (again, the staff are incompetent and do not care about you at all). Stepping foot in this facility is a mistake and there are significant odds you will regret it for one reason or another. read more

But after almost an hour of wait, the front desk didn't know how to register or check me in... even after I showed all the documents I pre-signed and was emailed back to me. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I came in with a skin infection and saw Alex Pennise. The wound was oozing through my clothing and although I was visibly upset because of this and explained it had been bothering me, he did not offer to wrap up the wound or provide any suggestions. When I re-entered the office to ask to have the infection wrapped, he put tape onto the infected skin with small squares of gauze that immediately fell off. I was also sent the wrong prescription, and when I called to get it fixed I either couldn't get ahold of the office, or was placed on hold for 20 minutes only for them to send the wrong prescription AGAIN. They clearly did not listen to me. The only good thing about that place is the medical assistant, Amy, who was comforting and supportive. read more

United Customers Beware Visiting MiDoctor this past February, I was told to go ahead with my appointment even though they currently weren't accepting United as an insurance provider. Trying to gain United customers, I was told I wouldn't need to pay in excess of my standard copay of $35. Was billed a much larger amount instead. I called to clear this up, was told it was a misunderstanding and that I would only need to pay the $35. I paid $35 on that call. Months later I'm receiving final notices and collections for the remainder that was allegedly cleared. When I called their billing was told my explanation of previous conversations made no sense and was asked why I would believe I only needed to pay my deductible despite being out of network. Not only did it take 4 days, but the staff hung up on me, stopped answering my calls, mixed up my medical files, and were upset with me for their mistake. Sent my 87 year old mother to get a quick evaluation of some respiratory symptoms that needed an exam and perhaps a chest x-ray. She said that she received a very cursory exam, a rapid COVID test (which was negative) and then told that they cant determine anything and that she needs to go to the emergency room. She went to City MD on 57th 2 days later and received a proper evaluation, chest x-ray, and ECG. She was also prescribed some antibiotics and the provider contacted me to make sure that she would have some followup with her MD. Had to go here today for an eye issue. Happy to report their service & care is stellar. The place is also MUCH bigger then I thought. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and seated with forms. Took all of maybe 10 mins to see the medical assistant and then the doctor. They listen to your issues, explain the possible causes, give you the necessary meds, ask if you have any questions and are out the door. All in all a very pleasant experience.
