The staff was unprepared and did not have the proper equipment to efficiently care for my injured hand. I left with a stint that was too large, untapped gauze and loose stitches. The other aspect that felt completely unacceptable, unnecessary and inappropriate was the nurse asking me if I'd like to join their "weight loss program". Not only is this really bizarre to ask someone coming in for an URGENT visit that has nothing to do with my general health, but the fact that we were discussing this BEFORE my injury was even addressed/cleaned/looked at was outrageous.

Has anyone used this new walk-in urgent care facility yet? If so, were you satisfied with the care you received?

I went for the first time this morning and was very satisfied. I'm new to the area and was quite put-off by the negative reviews for other urgent care centers around me, but I decided to give this one a shot. I'm very glad I did, great experience.

While visiting New York, I became seriously ill with chills, fever, sweating, nonstop coughing, shortness of breath, and intense chest pressure. I know my body, and having had bronchitis a hand full of times before, I was confident that's what was happening. I was seen by a male doctor who was completely dismissive. After I explained my symptoms, he asked if I had asthma or allergies and then flat-out told me there was "nothing he could do." He refused to treat me, only prescribed an inhaler, and told me to buy over-the-counter medicine at CVS. His brilliant medical advice? "Wear a scarf, maybe that will help the coughing." I spent the remainder of my trip absolutely miserable, running a high fever, unable to sleep, and had to cancel all my plans that day and ultimately had to delay my flight because I was so sick. The moment I got home, I went to another doctor and was immediately diagnosed with bronchitis exactly what I had told this so-called "medical professional" from the beginning. This entire situation could have been avoided if I had been taken seriously and given proper care. Instead, I was dismissed and sent away sick. If you value your health, do not go here under any circumstances.

Made the executive decision to try an urgent care instead of a local emergency room. Emergency room's on a Friday in NYC., can be a gamble. Summit Health and CityMD are now part of VillageMD.  VillageMD provides high quality, accessible healthcare services for individuals and communities across the United States, with primary, multispecialty, and urgent care providers serving patients in traditional clinic settings, and in patients' homes which is a service I love, reminds me of concierge medicine, and through virtual appointments. You can easily find this location on West 14th street, 2 blocks away from Union Square. Upon arriving you're greeted by a very pleasant receptionist that will ask if you have an appointment or, are a walk in. I was a walk in, therefore I scanned the QR code at check in, which gives you electronic consent forms to fill out. The waiting area is very clean, no crowds, and esthetically pleasing to the eyes. The atmosphere and service gives you a comfortable, and relaxed feeling, especially with the beautiful art. After electronically filling out the forms, I was given an immediate appointment. My wait was barely five minutes. Went to the back, had my vitals taken. Doctor came in, within another 5 minutes. Had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Ira Owen whom was a kind Doctor, with excellent bedside manners. Felt like he was Superman, just needed a cape. After examining my hand, wrist, and elbow, the Doctor felt it was a terrible sprain. My thumb was put in brace, and I was given instructions on how to care for the sprain. My entire visit was probably under 35 minutes. Could not ask for a better medical experience. Definitely recommend City MD West 14th street location. Tip: If you need x-rays, call ahead to confirm which location has the mobile x-ray technician. To ensure you are not left inconvenienced.

I will note that I am a black woman, and I am also a medical professional who has worked in the urgent care setting as a provider. My first experience was fine. I walked in after a virtual consultation, checked in by a nice lady, and was tested. The PA, Theresa, came in and stood at the door to bark at me if I had any questions and I had none. Received my results rapidly. A mediocre experience. My second experience was great. I walked in after a virtual consultation and was tested. The MA I had, who I regret not remembering her name gave me the best COVID tests I've ever had. She counted down and made the experience almost enjoyable, and provided tissues before and after the test for my comfort. I received my results rapidly and was pleased with my experience. My third experience, which happened this past weekend was atrocious. I had a virtual visit with a PA who was over an hour late to the appointment -- I called the actual site and they told me to leave the appointment site and they would have someone reach out to me in 30 minutes. The PA then called me and went through the questions and she requested I be seen in person and that I can do that at the clinic when I arrived for my test, fine. I walked in during my scheduled appointment time and was greeted by another patient sitting in the lobby who asked me for my information. I was perplexed and turned to the actual front desk reception who said nothing but took down my information. Fine. I sat and waited to be called. As I waited, another receptionist came in and yelled "Ma'am" multiple times into the waiting room until I looked up from my seat, startled, and decided to check me in. I explained that I had already been checked in and she left me alone. I was soon called to the back. I was seated and given no instructions in the chair -- which is fine because I had been here before. Soon, the same PA from my initial visit, Theresa, came in and yelled at me from the door, demanding to know if I was a virtual visit. I explained that the provider from my virtual consultation had asked that I be seen for my symptoms. She continued to yell at me from the door saying that doesn't happen here and then eventually left without saying anything. I was stunned as I sat there. A little bit later, Todd, the MA, came in and started asking me questions. He asked me what I do for work and I explained that I was in the medical profession. After he was done taking my vitals, he said he would be collecting my specimen for COVID 19. I was shocked as I there was no explanation or confirmation from Theresa, and asked if she was coming back first. He said she would but he needed to collect the specimen first. Fine. He collected the specimen with no introduction or preparation for the patient. He did it twice in the same nostril and did not stay in for 10 seconds. At the end, he left. As he was leaving, my nose started to bleed very profusely from the attack and as I had no tissues or anything to stop the bleeding. As such, I bled over my shirt and eventually found gauze in the room. At this point, another PA, entered the room, asked if I was the "NP" very condescendingly and saw that I was distraught and bleeding. He provided me with more gauze and made excuses for Todd saying that they never provided tissues for patients, which was a bold faced lie because, as I mentioned, I had been here previously and was provided said tissues. At this point, I was so fed up with my experience that I asked to leave and my results be uploaded to the portal. I was crying and very upset. I have never been treated this way before at a health care institution and I know for a fact that others have been as well, just looking at these reviews and my partner's experience. Needless to say, I will never come back here as this was an abusive and terrifying experience.
