Technician arrived and said the dis-connect for the furnace in the attic needed to be replaced, but he didn't have one in his truck and would have to run into town to get one. Couple of hours later he came back and installed the fuse box, but that didn't do anything. Then he said the capacitor needed to be changed, so he changed that. Total bill came to $556, which is ridicu-lous. I was charged 3 hours labor, 2 of which were for him going into town to get a part. BTW, there's a Home Depot 15 mins. from my house where he could have pur-chased one for less than $20 (he charged me $109.25). He said the furnace wasn't wired correctly, but he couldn't rewire it so he said he disconnected one of the heating elements. He said I would still have heat, but not full heat until the other heat-ing element was reconnected. Today, when I turned on the heater, there was no heat. He also tracked dirt in all over the floor.

They did a service call later that day which revealed that the board on my furnace was bad and needed to be replaced. They put in a temporary fix which allowed one of my 2 thermostats to directly control the AC for the entire house until then. Monday roll around, they came out and replaced the board which took a few hours. After being told it was done, there was still no air coming out of the vents. I communicated my problem and the next day, the owner had another tech out investigating my issue which revealed a slightly different issue than what it was originally believed to be. They got it figured out and got my AC working. They also came back the following day just to further troubleshoot and make sure they had the issue fully resolved, then also fully explained to me what was the issue and the steps they took to resolve it. When I asked them to give me a reasonable accomodation on pricing for a replacement system they did not bother to do that, but they did offer to sell me a whole home dehumidifier to reduce the high humidity levels in my house caused by the wrong sized system they installed. I was a senior senior citizen when they sold me the oversized system. I am told that the AG's office in Austin would be very interested, but I do not want to cause them that kind of problem. So. I am just stuck it seems. Be careful. They will sell you what you ask for whether it is technically correct for your home or not. Service requested: They gave me what I asked for. My wife did a little neighborhood Facebook page research and mentioned that a lot of people had success with Paul The Plumber. I gave them a call and got an appointment scheduled. My wife purchased a new faucet, in case our current one was beyond repair, but that ended up being moot. The plumber was at our house for maybe 12 total minutes, which includes him taking my credit card for the service charge. He very quickly knew how to fix the problem and it's been great ever since. Something else that was nice was that we were told the plumber would arrive between 3-4pm, and I got a text that he was on the way, scheduled for a 3pm arrival. I went sent real-time tracking of his location so I knew exactly when he'd be arriving, which was really convenient. So our experience was 5-stars across the board and we will definitely call these guys again next time we have an issue.
