The staff and veterinarians have been wonderful for both our dogs and cats. Roxie and Willow are both 10.

We use these vets for both our dogs. Our dogs love them and always run off with the vet excited for their adventure Pricing is very fair. They're very quick to tell you about preventative methods you can consider but respect your decisions on them. Example being we were excited to hear about the lepto shots -our dogs love the creek! But we didn't feel we needed another shot that was suggested based off our current lifestyle! The vet was understanding and respected that! The only unfortunate thing is there is such a long wait for appointments! Our pup had picked up giardia when due in for a second shot and we had to restart shots because they didn't have another appointment soon enough after her recovery and we have to start over! However getting appointments can be a problem across all vets in the area. When rescued our newer pup I think the wait time was about 5 weeks ? I had tried other places as I was super anxious to get her shots and they all gave similar time estimates for a new pup appointment! Overall very happy with the service we've had here and would recommend them to anybody!

Bruin trying to get all the love from Dr. Nguyen.

We absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Midtown!! They are the best!! The front desk staff and vet technicians are friendly, nice, attentive, and responsive--they actually respond to your calls (you don't interact with machines, like with other vet clinics). They've always been so, so sweet to our dog Bruin! Always make a big deal about him when he arrives, which makes him feel so happy and better already! He LOVES going there and getting all the love & attention! Communication is efficient. Whenever we have questions, the staff provides answers. They either go that moment to ask the vet or get back to us in a few hours. All the staff (vets included) have been great at following up and checking in with the dog's health. It is clear that the management does their best to keep up with their very busy business and have as much staff as needed. Even though they are busy, we feel like they always manage to make time if it is urgent. The vets are WONDERFUL! Our dog was mainly seen by Dr. Regan and Dr. Nguyen. Bruin loves them and so do we! They have great bedside manners, are so caring, and polite. Soon after we adopted Bruin, he became terribly ill and presented multiple health problems. They did such a thorough and amazing job to try to diagnose and treat his very rare conditions and were always upfront about the costs of each test. Furthermore, they cared for Bruin so tenderly and showed us great empathy. They truly demonstrated their deep care and dedication to their patients and clients. Every single visit, we were so appreciative of their expertise, care, and kindness. We are forever so grateful because they saved Bruin's life and made him feel so much better! He is now a happy, healthy pup! Sadly, we did have to put down Niza, a very beloved senior dog. Dr. Coil was so gentle with her, calm, did the best to make her comfortable, did not rush through it, and was very sympathetic. I knew I could trust their vets in this hard situation. Midtown also took care of the arrangements regarding her remains. We definitely recommend Midtown Animal Clinic!

Midtown animal clinic gave our puppy the best care last week when she had a foxtail deep under her eye. They got us in right away and took great care of both our puppy and us (I was so worried and upset). A big plus was a totally affordable bill for the service and eye antibiotic. I thought the visit was going to be really expensive, but it was priced so well! Mai helped us and she was so sweet and caring. Love this vet clinic!

I agree with another yelper named LD S. on Midtown animal clinic being an animal medical care office that can be impersonal many times. But in my experience when I called last Monday June 9 to make a same day appt for my cat that was lethargic and hiding under a bush, I was told there were no available appt. times that day and there was an opening to see a vet on Thursday. No one offered to take my name and number down to call if there is a last minute cancellation...this is where it gets impersonal. I'm sorry but I don't think my sick cat can hold out over 3 days. I went to another vet clinic located next to the Nugget market in the Oak Tree plaza. I got a same day AM appt for that Monday and I called at 915am. I have 4 pets and 2/4 pets are still patients at Midtown clinic but the way the office is being managed I might spend my hard earned money at another animal clinic. I thought if the new and bigger Midtown clinic is built....more appointments can be made and perhaps in case of an emergency maybe one of the many doctors (I think there are 5 to 6 vets) can spend 15-30 mins out of their schedule to see a sick pet...I didn't mind waiting for 2 hours.

We are bringing our Puppy in for a Follow up for 3 months ago, our puppy had heart surgery, so we have been here a few times now, coming from Stockton. Worth the drive for a pet that you would call a family member. The campus grounds are super clean, lots of wildlife, birds, squirrels, etc. Not sure if they take any animal in, or if you have to have a referral, like we did from our local vet. And they were alot cheaper then the vet and had more openings.

I brought my dog here for emergency surgery after a serious injury to his leg. My local vet…read morereferred us there and had called ahead, so they were expecting us and had 2+ hours notice we were coming. (6PM arrival) Fast forward another 4+ hours to 10:30 PM. We finally get to talk to a resident, Dr. Olivia Taubenfeld, who tells me she doesn't think it's a degloving injury - without even examining him yet. I tell her I don't what that is, but describe seeing exposed tendons, ligaments, and possibly bone (which is also what I described when admitting him hours before.) Another 2+ hours go by and they finally examine him. (1AM) Dr. Taubenfeld's report? Degloving injury. Had anyone bothered to look under the temporary bandage put on by the first local vet, or even listened to my description of his wound, they would have seen and understood the severity of the injury. Now they're recommending amputation and treatment options have changed drastically because they neglected seeing him for so long. After getting a second opinion, I decide to pull him out of this hospital so he can get proper care. I'm told they'll do a wound cleaning first thing in the morning. I communicate persistently all day, making sure they're aware of my intention to transfer him that afternoon. I go to pick him up at 4 PM - they haven't cleaned his wound yet. I wait hours, desperate to get him out of there and to a vet who has the capacity to give him proper care and attention. At one point (6 PM) I can hear him crying and whining from behind one of their exam room doors. Apparently, they finally got around to cleaning his wound, only without proper sedation and pain management. Torture. Soon after, they bring him out of that room to me. While I'm carrying him to leave, as soon as we get outside, he starts peeing in my arms. (Sweet boy waited until he was outside.) I place him down, and he stands there peeing for I swear at least one 1 minute. His bladder had to be completely full. Had they even let him relieve himself the 24 hours he was there?! I will never bring another animal here.

This practice burns out young veterinarians, sets them up for failure, and harms patients. I took my animals to this practice 2020-2023. Over that time I noticed a lot of staff turnover and unhappy techs. At a veterinary practice happy employees usually means high quality care. Workers can seldom do their best under harsh labor conditions. Dr Phillips helped initially when my puppy started displaying consistent aggression that did not respond to training, management, sleep schedule changes, exercise changes, or redirection. She prescribed fluoxetine (which takes 6-10 weeks to kick in), and clonidine (a fast-acting med). When the clonidine peaked, my puppy could exist without profound inescapable terror for roughly an hour before once again becoming panicked and impossible to sooth. I requested more frequent clonidine so that both my dog and I could have a more reasonable quality of life while we waited 6 weeks for her UC Davis Veterinary Behavior appointment. Although Dr Phillips has no behavior certifications beyond "fear free", she reviewed a few short videos of my puppy and confidently declared that my dog was "displaying mostly normal puppy behavior" and that "sometimes, as owners, we unintentionally encourage bad behavior." She pronounced my dog's body language to be "loose", ignoring her unmistakable whale eyes and tight face. Dr Phillips knew I had significant experience raising retriever puppies. She knew this dog's highly skilled training team was out of ideas. Yet, Dr Phillips knew more about my puppy's state of mind from a few short videos than either me or her training team knew from countless hours of direct care. Dr Phillips decided I caused these problems because I would rather sedate my "mostly normal" puppy than practice basic training and management. After deciding my puppy's fear and aggression were simply handler error, Dr Phillips not only declined to increase her clonidine dose, but declined to refill it at all. I had three doses left of the only thing that made it possible to safely interact with my dog. But Dr Phillips had completed a few rotations with veterinary behaviorists during vet school (which she referred to as "a lot of training") and she thought it was appropriate to allow my puppy to experience extreme panic 24/7 for the next 6 weeks in case the clonidine "changed her brain chemistry". Never mind the brain chemistry changes that might occur from 6 weeks of extreme prolonged panic. Luckily, a kind soul at another practice had mercy on us and prescribed enough clonidine for us to make it to the veterinary behavior appointment in one piece. The team at UC Davis diagnosed my puppy with generalized anxiety (based in territoriality, fear, overarousal, and resources) and interdog aggression (based in fear). They explained that my puppy's frequent bites were her way of coping with constant panic by redirecting it onto me as her primary caretaker. My puppy was a serious case for her age and would need significant management and medication for the rest of her life, otherwise she would be a danger to me and to the public. They explained that allowing her to panic throughout her puppyhood would have severe consequences for her brain chemistry, and they increased her clonidine dose to protect her from that fate. To be clear: although Dr Phillips put myself, my puppy, and the public in danger with her reckless overconfidence, I do not hold her personally responsible for this mistake. Dr Phillips had been a practicing veterinarian for just over a year at the time and it was clear she had extremely limited mentorship and support. When I later shared my puppy's diagnoses and prognosis with Dr Phillips, I didn't even get a reply. This tells me that this practice doesn't have experienced veterinarians following up on concerning decisions made by new veterinarians. Nobody is walking new veterinarians through reflecting on cases that don't go well, learning from mistakes, or addressing issues that arise with clients who have been with the practice for years. Thanks to the kind veterinarian who took over care urgently without any previous patient relationship, my dog did not seriously injure anyone in the six weeks Dr Phillips wanted her to be functionally unmedicated. But I am extremely concerned that this practice seeks out new veterinarians for cheap labor while ignoring their consequent mentorship responsibility. A less determined dog owner with fewer resources may have accepted Dr Phillips' assessment with potentially disastrous results. If you are considering taking your pet here, proceed with caution.

On 12/27/25, I schedule a bath and brush which includes a bath, nail clipping, etc. When picking up my dog, I noticed she was bleeding and brought it to the attention of the groomer who failed to notice this. Patricia clipped my dog's nail so badly it split and bled so I took my dog to the vet to ensure she was okay. It eventually healed on its own but the first picture shows her injury. The store manger, Lauren Hughes reached out quickly and ensured PetSmart took care of the bill, but I was not pleased with the whole interaction and incident that could have been avoided. I was told to book with a different groomer next time. I gave them another chance and specifically booked a different groomer, Celeste for 5/12/26 and selected the bath only option. When I arrived, Patricia told me she would be handling my dog anyway despite informing her I selected Celeste as my groomer but due to Celeste being booked, she would be bathing my dog. I made it clear it was just a bath, however my dog was injured again. I received a call informing me my dogs nail got stuck in a grate and was bleeding. When I informed the manager Lauren, that I was around the corner at a nearby store and would be there shortly to see my dog, they informed me they transported my dog to UC Davis Veterinary Medical Center without my knowledge or consent and only told me after the fact. Luckily it was a split in the nail and she didn't require medical attention. We are hoping her injury will heal on its own but we will monitor it. Two visits. Two injuries. Same groomer. This is not a coincidence--it's negligence. My request for a different groomer was ignored, and basic safety was clearly lacking. I will not be returning. Pet owners should be very cautious.
