I was member for several years, in the last 10 month, I had health problems, wasn't able to atend but I kept paying the monthly charges. Since my health didn't improve I decided to cancel my membership and on March 16 I sent a message asking for the canceletion. The answer was: first you have to pay the whole month and only then we can cancel - What?? a pro rate bill for half of March??? No way, forget it !!! I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with Midtown and its outstanding team. To begin, I would like to recognize Aaron. He is an exceptional asset to the club. He thoroughly explained the membership offerings and facilities, and thoughtfully matched us with trainers and classes aligned with our goals. He has consistently served as a supportive and reliable point of contact. I joined in September 2025 after more than a decade without regular exercise and was completely out of shape. My husband, while naturally active, had never worked out in a gym environment. Based on our medical needs and age--both of us in our 50s--Aaron recommended we train with Matthew Rossello. Matthew is an extraordinary trainer: highly knowledgeable, upbeat, energetic, and genuinely invested in our well-being and progress. Each session is unique, engaging, and tailored to our needs. On days when I feel unmotivated, knowing that Matthew will make the workout both enjoyable and rewarding is what gets me through the door. In just four months, both my husband and I have made progress we never imagined possible. Aaron also recommended Pia's indoor cycling classes, and she has been fantastic. Pia is incredibly entertaining, curates great music, and designs classes that are dynamic and motivating. Her sessions incorporate a variety of movements and speeds, and even include a brief meditation. I truly look forward to her classes--something I never expected to say about cycling! We have also come to enjoy yoga classes with Angela. She brings a calming, mindful approach that helps relax both body and mind, while offering stretches that leave us feeling renewed. The club overall is excellent. The facilities are comprehensive and consistently clean, and the food is outstanding. My only suggestions would be to address maintenance needs in the showers and consider enlarging the sauna--along with adding a more visible clock. I love to visit all Midtown clubs. I have had the pleasure of visiting 3 of their different locations, Weston, Miami and Chicago. I must say if I had a midtown in Orlando I'd be there working out every day. This clubs are all super clean, the group X class studios are very cool mostly the one in Chicago, it looks like is a theater. The bathroom and lockers are always clean, you will always see the maintenance people making sure the place is sparkling, the front staff are always so welcoming and they make sure you are all set for to get inside of the place pleasantly. I never write reviews - if I'm unhappy, I'll just leave. But I've never felt so scammed in my life - every time I walk into Midtown, I feel like a sucker. Midtown is an absolute, total disappointment. I don't mind paying more for superior service, far from it, but what Midtown is offering is a product that is objectively inferior to YouFit and the Weston YMCA at luxury price. The only, ONLY reason I see anyone joining is because of the tennis courts. If you're just into working out, there are a dozen better options in the area, sure, they're not as "prestigious" as Midtown, they won't have mouthwash at the sinks and a cafe, but you'll get a sweat in without being in an anthill, smelling other people farts for an hour. Major issue 1: Crowded. When I joined a year ago, there were fewer members and more classes at different times. In the past year they significantly expanded the membership without increasing the size of the facilities, which were pretty small to begin with - everything is now absolutely cramped. Good luck going to the gym after work - most gyms are crowded at that time, but here you'll not have an open machine or bench at all. It'll be full of 15-year-olds hogging every known machine while they scroll on their phone, and not re-racking their weights and putting equipment away. Major issue 2: The classes. During my membership, Midtown closed half its facilities for four months for renovations. That's fine - the promise being that there'll be more indoor classes with more variety. The Field, the result of these renovations, is an artificial turf space that takes up approx. 800 square feet of space that used to be dedicated to cardio equipment (now squeezed on the other side of the floor). The result - three to four classes a day, half of which take place during working hours. Only two classes after working hours PER WEEK. So, if you can't make it between 8-5 or have kids activities, you're pretty much out of luck. The result is a massive space that's mostly unused for most of the day, and when classes do occur, they're absolutely packed, you'll be trying not to bump into anyone else doing a sit up. I made the mistake of going to a class this morning, and there was a minimum of 30 people there. Imagine 30 people working out in your living room. The availability of the cardio classes is somewhat better (Apex & Endure), but you can't do those daily - if you like weights, there is a Bootcamp class, but it occurs only twice daily - either during school drop off, or after 9am. Why no afternoon bootcamp classes? Why no classes during lunch? Why does everything stop at 6pm? Why no classes on Friday afternoons? Why can't you reserve your spot in a class so it's not overcrowded? I'll just tell my kids to walk to school and reschedule my meetings to accommodate Midtown's schedule. Major issue 3: The price. I believe you should get what you pay for - if I'm paying this much for a gym membership, and I want more than nice fixtures in the bathrooms and free towels. What they sold me was a huge variety of classes at times that suited me and a great gym and then pulled the rug out with their Field. I feel scammed. And when their entire schedule changed, I wanted to cancel my membership. But - they lock you in a 12-month contract - you have no choice but to see it through. I've been lied to, and I've been paying for it for the past six months. I have to mention one massive positive - the staff and trainers are amazing, they really are. The swimming classes for children are amazing (both my kids learned to swim here), and massive shoutout to Francisco. But compare this facility to the Chicago one - Chicago has more studios, more classes with more variety (Boxing! Lifting!). I was a member 25 years ago and came back this year. I had taken classes with Teri then and have taken Teri's classes too. WOW. Her care for members doesn't compare. We had a conversation about her GRIT classes and wow. A must for anyone wanting to naturally raise bone density, gh release and testosterone increase. Her AMPED PILATES is also insane. Recently joined and had a training session with Mathew Rossello--highly recommend! The gym itself is impressive, with top-notch facilities and a great atmosphere. The food served is also excellent, which is a nice bonus. Aaron is a great customer service Representative. He explained the clubs options, gave us a great tour and we joined. He is a great ambassador. Mathew is an incredible trainer. If you're considering personal training, definitely ask for him. I'm just getting back into my fitness routine, and he struck the perfect balance--challenging me without overdoing it. been a member there for over 35 years. Absolutely magnificent facility. Unfortunately, greed has gotten in the way. They have oversold the number of memberships based on the facilities. During peak hours difficult to get on a machine, difficult to find a parking spot, and difficult to get a tennis court. When things break down, they are slow to be fixed. Specific examples include hot water was broken and took well over a week to be fixed. Hot tub in men's locker room was broken and took almost 6 weeks for repair. The afternoons, full of high school kids on the equipment. That is great, to see the young people exercising. However, many just sit on the machines and talk or text, making the equipment unavailable for others. General manager talks a great game, but bottom line he is often unavailable for feedback or constructive criticism. Members don't mind spending the money, which is extremely expensive compared to other fitness facilities in the area. However, the members want the amenities, which I think are shrinking. Locker rooms need to be expanded and updated. The area is extremely clean, they have a great staff that works very hard. At the current rate, I think the membership is going to get frustrated and look elsewhere unless they get value for their money. read more

My family and I have been members here for a decade on and off and have spent lots of money at Midtown over the years, primarily because of the access to tennis and because the staff and coaches are great (Maria, Francisco, Luis, Mychael (sp?) and others). The funny thing is that when I thought about rejoining the club my experience with the head of sales immediately made it clear to me that this wasn't the same club anymore. A ten year relationship (not to mention all that revenue) meant nothing - I had just missed the September pricing special by a few days and they wouldn't honor it. The money meant more than the relationship. I don't have interest in being a member of this kind of club and don't think you should either when it's cheaper (and you feel like family) working out at USI or the Y and playing tennis at the Weston Tennis Center all for much less combined then Midtown. Shout out to Aaron at Midtown who tried his best for me but his boss was the one who made my decision clear - I can't recommend Midtown to anyone at this point until something changes. read more

My honest opinion after 3 months of membership: - The public gym space is very clean and well attended to, props to the janitorial staff and their standards. - The space dedicated to workout machines and activities is quite small, and machines are limited. Not a wide range of variety and each machine only has 1-2 of each kind. I find myself waiting in between workouts quite often for anything that is not free-weights. - The front desk and service staff is 99.99% highschool kids, often not helpful when asking questions and management staff doesn't seem present. - The locker room amenities (steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi) are great when they are working and clean, but in my experience 1-2 out of the 3 have maintenance issues quite often or are too dirty to enjoy. This is unfortunate because in my opinion it's really the main attraction. also I can only speak for the men's locker room, not women's. - The pool is great and I love swimming laps as an added workout routine or tanning to relax post-workout. Although, I have found though that the kids swimming program takes up a lot of availability in the lap pool, and can also be very loud and disruptive When trying to relax. That, and the pool is closed quite often during the summer due to frequent storms. - The classes (cycling, yoga, and group workouts) are great, and totally worth going to. They have multiple classes throughout the day that you can enjoy, - Make sure you are 100% committed to a full year of membership because they make it almost impossible to cancel or pause your membership. Regardless of injury, dissatisfaction, etc. - Really great social setting to meet a lot of nice people in the City of Weston. - My membership came with 3 complementary activities, I was able to choose between a massage or a workout with a trainer. FULL DISCLOSURE I chose the massage all 3 times and don't regret it at all whatsoever. - Memberships are very expensive, my rate is 9$ a day for a full year as a single person. In my past experiences, I have attended better clubs for cheaper. But as far as Weston goes, it's obvi the only "luxury" club available. Will I renew my membership after this year? Midtown offers the most comprehensive services than any other fitness club in the Fort Lauderdale area. Other than the traditional exercise programs, it's has yoga, tennis, spin, etc. it has pro shop with in house tennis rack stringing services, hair salon, child care and a cafe which to my surprise (and ironically may I add) severs up the BEST burgers in the area. Allow me to dwell on this point for a bit...the burger is juicy, well seasoned, grilled to perfection; the bums are toasted and grill-marked. The burger topping ranges from exotic avocado spread to more traditional sautéed mushrooms and onion...the fries are thinly hand-cut crispy and never greasy. No ketchup needed...and I digress. The workout facility is well equipped (not quite the state of art cutting edge equipment but certainly is up to date technology) and it is fully staffed. Locker room, showers, spa, steam room and sauna have just been renovated that could easily rival any 4 even some 5 star hotels. The patrons are mostly "mid age" well mannered goers, although due to the extensive youth fitness programs it offers, there are young children in the Olympic pool and on tennis courts, however, hardly ever seemed in the weight lifting area and same can be said about so-call bodybuilding fanatics which makes overall experience more pleasurable than other competitor fitness clubs. The initiation fee if I remembered correctly was about $150 for which you get four 1-hr. coached sessions. The monthly due was about $135. It is well worth for all it offers. Let me start by clarifying something, Midtown Athletic Club is not a gym for athletes who are serious about their sport and it is not suitable for serious or even amateur lifters. Midtown Athletic Club is a social hub for middle aged-older tennis players and rich kids. I know... it is tough statement to swallow but the truth hurts sometimes. I was looking to switch from LifeTime Fitness and join Midtown Athletic. I scheduled a tour of the facility. The gym is rather tiny. There are more tennis courts than anything. The general atmosphere of the club is snooty and the population seems to think they are too good for everyone else (keep in mind, I'm really rich and these people were still arrogant). The person who gave me a tour of the gym practically shoved a membership down my throat. I canceled the membership within 7 days. I have never felt so out of place at a gym before. It seemed as if you need white silk gloves to pickup a dumbbell. The whole experience with this club totally ruined the Midtown Athletic Brand for me. The club membership price is egregious. Unless you are a tennis player or a sugar daddy looking to hit on woman, the club membership will never be worth the price. I am a boujee gym goer. There. I admit it. If there's a boujee gym in Broward or Dade, chances are I've been there. I like amenities, class variety, cleanliness, towels... I like being able to walk into a place without getting blasted with reggaeton or trap. That being said, Midtown appeases the boujee gym appetite with a clean facility, gorgeous grounds, and tons of classes. This club is well spaced with a good layout for cardio, weights, and work out studios (for all those options for classes I like). Entitled members don't wipe down any on the machines or equipment after use. These same members refuse to pickup their used towels in the locker room. It seems to be a cultural thing, but many members are incredibly disrespectful of others. As frequently as Midtown always has employees sweeping floors, the equipment is absolutely filthy. Midtown needs to put up signs encouraging members to clean up after themselves! As much as we're all overpaying to be members, this is the very least they can do to clean this place up! read more

Found this gym during business travels. The hotel I stayed at offered its guests free access during their stay. I went there for my morning workout twice and can say I really enjoyed it. It's an upscale gym with a small intimate feel. They have all the machines you could ask for and several different areas to get your workout on. The staff is extremely courteous and welcoming. They also offer childcare to its members and guests. Haven't had a chance to see the full facility but plan to this week with the family. Can't speak to price as it is complimentary but I am sure it will be more than your typical gym because you defiantly get the country club feel. A+ in my book! read more

Family spent almost five years in Midtown using most services and programs. The main reason we joined, and eventually left after patience ran out, was the youth tennis high performance program ("Tennis Program") and the rating is weighted for that. Nonetheless, we were engaged using the youth swim program, adult tennis lessons, fitness center (daily), hair salon, cafe and other activities. Hope this perspective helps members, prospective members, and club management to make the club better. Positives: 1. Courteous member-facing staff (for the most part), 2. Clean and aesthetically pleasing facilities. 3. Good place to meet new people. 4. Youth swim program lead by people that care. Negatives: 1. Tennis Program stretched thin on courts and coaches, which combined with apathy for players and their progress, gives the clear impression the program is simply a for-profit operation. Sadly, no player will reach their full tennis ability in this academy, even those bringing exceptional skills from somewhere else. Tennis Program leadership picks favorites that can do no wrong while many others are labeled, held to impossible expectations, and unfairly treated. Leadership is stubborn, micromanages all elements of the program while not listening to or empowering other coaches, and operates vindictively with young players and embarrasses them to get even or teach "lessons". Outside of the Tennis Program, there are rarely any tennis courts available during weekday evenings or weekend mornings and the process to reserve them is shady. 2. In fitness area, variety of weight equipment is limited. Also, this is not the fitness center to get inspired by the atmosphere or those around you as many users are the effortless type that never seem to make any progress, with or without perpetual one-on-one personal trainers. 3. Relative little value for the money. Absent the borderline exclusivity feel and aforementioned positives, other options in Weston are almost as good and better priced for tennis, fitness and/or swimming. Absolutely the worst managerial business practices. I called stating that I had to have shoulder surgery and that I needed to freeze my membership. No one ever called me back so I called and told the front desk the same thing. I was told I HAD to do the form online which I could never locate. Emailed several more times and still no response. Had to reverse my charge on my card and continue to have to do this each and every month because they refuse to cancel your membership when you have a medical issue. Do these people realize they burn bridges for members ever returning when they behave in this manner? Are they that desperate for money? Just go elsewhere. Good afternoon, I was a member of Midtown Athletic Club in for three months in the summer of 2019 and I spent nearly every other day at the facility. Not only are the grounds well maintained, the view of the nearby lake is stunning (particularly from the portico), the equipment is first-rate, and the health instructors are passionate about their craft. I was able to take part in a fitness challenge consisting of several CrossFit-like events (the Midtown Challenge) and I learned several fundamentals of Tennis during my time with the Club. Thanks to a wonderful friend who took advantage of Decembers promo for friends and family I recently had a chance to have a free month here. It's been a few years since I left mainly due to the cost. I left for the YMCA which is a third of the cost. In the last few years at Midtown everything has been done over and they did a great job. It's beautiful. It seems very spacious and clean. While the main thing I enjoy is spinning I would think they would update the spin room a little more. That was the only negative. The yoga studio and locker room area was wonderful. read more

After almost 2 years of having joined this gym, I am pleased to recommend it to those looking for a place that can cover all your fitness needs. What finally motived me to write this review was to have found a great class (POWER RHYTHM by Raymond) which combines, pretty much everything I need for a great 1 hour workout, during the convenience of lunch time. I have been taking this class 2-3 times a week for 2 months and have lost 30 lbs of my baby weight, I am toned and with a significant level of endurance. Locker rooms are in rough shape at peak hours, don't like having to wait for a shower, and be sure and cancel your credit card after your paid trial. I have been a member under my parents for about 15 years, so I know this club, its amenities and staff well, and I do NOT recommend you pay what they charge. Weston's YMCA is 3 times less money, for a slightly less luxurious yet equally high quality gym experience, including babysitting, pool, etc. The only reason why midtown does well is because they are basically a monopoly in Weston if you want a tennis club. And then there's the sales people's deceitful and untrustworthy sales tactics, which i warn people about: When i tried to sign up myself and my husband and child under my new famiky membership, i was given one price for a certain membership type (i have emails and text messages to prove it), but then when i had already paid and started going i was lucky to find out this deal was just for the first month, and for the same service my membership dues were going to double. The salesman, Timothy williams, was very deceiving in how he presented things, honestly lying to me about membership dues in a very tricky way so that it looked like a mistake. I contacted the club's manager, Jim Scurto, and never got a response. Again, the whole thing is on emails and texts. And I am considered a "legacy member", their words. How badly then do they treat new potentials? Two weeks later i get a call from Daniel Perez saying that "they take these things seriously" (sure...thats why it takes you two weeks to respond), that it was a misunderstanding (really? Because i have all the written communication which clearly states what you told me), and charging me the $4 I owe in water bottles Really? So this is how they treat people. They wait two weeks to call you when they take things seriously and then not only do they do nothing, but they charge you $4 on water bottles instead of trying to amend things. Anyways, terrible customer service, deceiving sales tactics, and not worth $360 a month when YMCA costs $95 for the same amenities. read more

Terribly disappointed in this club. The wallpaper in the women's locker room is peeling and has mold. The carpet is terribly dirty and needs replacing. Attended several yoga classes and only one teacher actually knew how to lead a class. Tried spinning and couldn't stay in the class without serious hearing damage. Had to leave. Still waiting for the introductory personal training session and it's been 19 months! The trainer who did call was rude and angry that I wouldn't succumb to his schedule. Only one staff member actually addresses me when I arrive and leave. Otherwise you could rot for all the staff cares. For the $179+ monthly single membership you would think they would have better facilities and a more hospitable staff. Not impressed. read more

My rating should be two stars, but I have to low-ball because of all the fake reviews on here. I'm really roaring over the one that calls this place "the most PREEMINENT health club..." and then goes on to say "the finest, all-encompassing, quality health fitness facility in all of South Florida, possibly in the state of Florida." Oh my god. What a joke!!! But whoever wrote it: Thanks for the great laugh!!! The gym has a serene exterior and nice entry. It's a mixture of Equinox and Lifetime with a twist of lemon. The front desk staff seem pretty nice but that's where all the niceness ends. The men's locker room resembles an antique dealer's showroom though the shower and sink amenities (body wash, lotion, etc) were nicer than most upmarket gyms. The entire top row of lockers are all reserved with member's names on them. Sure, that's nice for the people that have been members here for the past 750 years, but not for new members or people visiting from other Midtown Athletic's cities. But, hey, this is a gym, the locker room is only 30% of the experience... unless you're a jeeper creeper and you're here just for the locker room. The cardio area is stale and outdated and the equipment wasn't as clean as one would expect from a club in this price range. Basically, the cardio area feels like a big apartment complex gym. The only thing missing were a few broken CRT televisions with VHS players attached. The downstairs training and weight floor was cramped, limited and not as state of the art as one would expect from a club in this price range though during quieter hours it isn't all that bad. Bottom line: An overpriced club geared more towards tennis and somewhat towards swimming. A waste of money and time for anyone interested in weight training. read more

It's unfortunate that the staff here is entirely clueless and unwilling to help because the facilities are actually quite nice. This club will charge you for breathing - not only do they charge you for anything and everything that they can but their website to "check your statement" every month is a pain to use. They assign an extremely complicated usernames and passwords and allow you an extremely limited number of guest passes and each additional guest is $22 plus tax. This place overcharged me 2 months in a row so I called to dispute and instead of refunding me, they said they would apply it to my next billing cycle. Well the next billing cycle came by and they over charged me again "claiming" I had brought guests when they have no documentation of it. On top of that, when I cancelled my account they failed to mention that they were going to freeze my account and not fully cancel it and they charged me $110 more than they should have when the final bill came through. They were so uncooperative and unable/unwilling to solve my problem that I ended up having to go through my Amex to have it solved. Absolute nightmare. read more

Yes, it's a little pricey, but you are pretty much getting a country club experience. If you are looking for just a gym with some weights and don't care about your surroundings, then go to YouFit for $10/month. Now lets move on to Midtown. The facility is beautiful and the variety of things the club has to offer is amazing. The cafe is great. The spa is great. The locker rooms have sauna, steam room and whirlpool for men and women separately. There is a separate room for yoga. A nice spinning room with live and virtual classes you can do at any time. A separate room for pilates reformer classes (which are paid for separately, like in any pilates studio). And tennis... so many beautiful clay courts. Again, it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for, like anything in life. For those who have the time to enjoy everything the club has to offer... it's definitely worth the price. And the kid's area is fantastic and even offers an athletic camp for school breaks. And as far as improvements, the parking lot was expanded. The cardio area has all new equipment. I have zero complaints. And this is not a fake review. I'm a real member, who like many others, is happy with my club experience. read more

This is the most PREEMINENT health club in Weston, based on the numerous facilities I have seen from South Beach to Palm Beach...it is the finest, all-encompassing, quality health fitness facility in all of South Florida, possibly in the state of Florida. Today is my first day at this club. I signed up this morning with Sean. Sean really took his time to give a tour and answer all of my questions. He was extremely friendly and helpful. Later in the day I returned for my workout. I began with a warmup in the cycling room. It was a virtual reality setting which was extremely cool. I look forward to scheduling a spinning class. After I went to the wellness part to do my workout. I think the machines can be situated so they are more easily found but I'm sure in time I'll learn where everything is. They have an upstairs and downstairs gym with different equipment. All of the equipment is extremely advanced and of very good quality. I am currently in the sauna to end my session. I really enjoyed my first workout and am glad I decided to join. They also have a lot of events and tournaments during the year! I am giving a four instead of five because I agree it is pricy but sometimes it is worth to pay more for extra quality is all fields. read more

I thought this was a high class gym and fitness club but upon being a member for a number of months it really is ridiculous. Men shaving their face, backs and genitalia in the steam room and someone even defecated in one of the men's showers. Machines are crowded and food is microwave served. read more

Midtown Athletic Club Cafe and Event Room.Awesome Club. Clean, Modern, Great Staff. Was a member sometime ago before they did a update. Now it is better than ever.   They have an nice Cafe' and I was told by a member, he had his wedding there. He recommended the Catering Manager Adriana was awesome and the food was great. Many guests were booked in Weston Hotels. Also that it was convenient to SWR where the Wedding was for the following day.    My Son and his Fiance had the Wedding and Wedding Reception covered. My Husband and I were throwing the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner for 40 Guests. I looked at a dozen local SW Broward places without any luck for a dozen bad reasons. Too expensive, not friendly or accommodating. Bad food, dated, dirty, too noisy, too small, too big, ugly, etc... It was Super Bowl Weekend. Everything was so hyped. So I called The Catering Manager Adriana. She was beyond helpful with menu options and accommodations. She made it so easy, took the stress off for down to the minute details.   I cannot say enough about how fabulous she was and the dinner was. The Food was delish. All my Guest raved about how the rooms we occupied and the adjacent lounge were beautiful with lots of ambience. Facing west for the beautiful South Florida sunset, overlooking the olympic sized pool and Royal Palm Trees. Many guest were from up north this has a SoBe Vibe they all loved. Right in the heart of Weston.    They even have a Baby Grand Piano that one guest played with the Groom to serenade the Soon to be Bride. It was perfect! If you are looking for a intimate classy place to have a reasonable sized event look no further. 5 STARS across the board. read more

I joking Midtown for a short period of time last year. I was hoping that Midtown would be a nice athletic club that is on par with Lifetime Fitness. I toured the gym with a sales associate and was told that if I wanted to join, I need to sign papers at that moment. I joined. Within a week of joining, I realized that I had made a mistake. For what the club is, it is extremely overpriced. Sure there Re a lot of tennis courts but other than that, there is not much to be embellished by. The gym is small and lacks enough machines. The yoga studios are small and hot yoga is not offered. The sales associate tried to give reason to the price by saying it was nicer than Lifetime Fitness. What a joke, it's not even comparable. When I went to cancel my membership, I was hassled to say the least. Don't fall for this club, it's not at all worth the money. Most of the good reviews I have read are from people who went to the spa or hair services, not actual members of the gym. read more

This place is amazing. Food, spa services, and fitness center are all top of the line. Not to mention the facility is beautiful. You get access to yoga, pilates, strength training, cardio, and core classes every single week!! Worth every penny.
