We celebrated our wedding this past weekend at ML&T and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. From the beautifully decorated loft to the greenery and views of the rooftop terrace, our guests were in awe over how gorgeous of a venue it is. Our vendors felt similarly, and were excited at the photo ops that they were able to capture. The staff was extremely helpful and gracious between when we booked our date in summer 2023 to our fall 2024 wedding. Beautiful space resembling an enchanted garden with a priceless retractable roof that rolls back in portions or the entire covering. The glass sides open as well, for a nice breeze on a pretty hot summer night. Attentive staff. Very unique and cozy. Breathtaking view of the Empire in all her glory lit tonight in red. WOW! My wife and I got married here a month ago, and it was absolutely gorgeous! Terrace with retractable roof, Empire State Building views, spacious loft -- what more could you ask for?? This was actually the first venue we looked at, and we didn't bother looking anywhere else. Kadir, the building manager, was super friendly and helpful on the day. He even closed the roof for us right before the ceremony because it looked like a storm was coming in (and it started raining just a few minutes before the end of our ceremony!). Only words of caution: the contract is somewhat prohibitive, and all vendors you use will need to carry sufficient insurance coverage. It's very hard to DIY anything. read more

The event had many outside sponsors in the Whisky industry supplying their excellent rare and fine drams. I work in this office building and my company had a party at the Loft & Terrace space in June. While I didn't do any of the booking or the finances, I can say that it was one of the best book publishing parties I've been to. The space is intimate but has a wraparound porch terrace where you can see views of the Empire State Building, nearby skyscrapers, and if you look down 5th Avenue, the Flatiron. It's a lovely place to host an event, the management is friendly, the views are spectacular--we took way too many Instagram photos during the party. I would definitely recommend this place for an event in New York that highlights the views of midtown, the rooftop can't be beat! read more

I had my wedding at Midtown Loft and Terrace just two weeks ago and I'm still on a high. Incredible venue, awesome staff and GREAT price for a Manhattan. I worked with Bridget and she was very sweet and attentive; she answered all my questions, allowed me to pop my head in every once in a while just to view the space for ideas. She even allowed me to drop off my decorations and beverages the evening before, which made the day of extremely smooth. I chose to do the ceremony on the rooftop and the reception in the Loft. The rooftop space is gorgeous, with a wonderful view of the Empire State building, great for photos and the Loft downstairs, is spacious and a beautiful space for a reception. I actually just had my wedding here over the weekend (Saturday 4/23), and could not have had a better experience. I was actually quite surprised by some of the negative reviews below, and I'd like to try and clear up some of the truth and fiction from what I've read below... First of all, the event you book here is based around a 10-hour schedule. I chose 3pm-1am, with a planned 530 ceremony and 11pm end of event time. This gave my vendors 2 hours at the end of the night for cleanup. However, it was NOT true that all delivery and setup had to fall within that window. The staff was actually accommodating enough to allow delivery of my tables on Friday afternoon, and my caterer arrived on Saturday morning at 11am to begin setup. The important part here is that I gave all my vendors (florist, lighting, furniture, band) the contact info of the event manager ahead of time, and pre-cleared their arrival times with the venue. I did not hire a wedding planner, so I understood that I would have to undertake that bit of coordination myself. Ultimately, your wedding coordinator (in this case myself and my bride) should check and double check that all deliveries from each vendor are coming at what time, and that the venue will be equipped at those times to handle them. On the day of, some of the bridal party arrived at 1230pm to get ready in the alcove they have in the space- which was furnished with couches and a beautiful full length mirror. There was some confusion about whether we wanted a curtain covering the alcove, but they straightened it out without a hitch. They also provided curtains for all of the windows and in front of the coat check area. Beyond that, the space turned out gorgeously. The day started out rainy, so we had to move our ceremony indoors (which still came across beautifully). However, the sun came out for our cocktail hour so we were able to have our guests enjoy the roof terrace for drinks and pictures. Many of our guests commented on how impressed they were with the space (terrace + loft) and how everything came together -- it really is a blank slate for you to work with, and the view from the terrace is a joy to behold when the weather is cooperating. However, the loft doesn't really need anything complicated to make it work. The huge windows came with curtains, so some kind of window dressing works nicely (we used flowers and candles). And doing colored uplights throughout the room really worked to set an ambiance. This was done at a very reasonable price by ULSNYC.com. There are plenty of bathrooms, the lighted bar is huge and beautiful, and the coat check had more than enough space for our party. We just let our guests self-check their coats, but you could easily get your own coat check person to handle it. And in addition to our guests and catered dinner, we had a 7 piece band and photo booth. With about 100 guests, the room was filled out nicely with a bit of room to spare. I would highly recommend this venue, but you should of course take a look for yourself and decide. We looked at about 5 or 6 other spaces around the city before we found this one and made our decision, so we did do our homework. The space itself was a winner, and we had no problems coming in to see the space prior to our event, and had excellent service during the event. PS- Its two days after my wedding and I should be on my honeymoon, but my in-laws are in town for another week from out of the country.. so here I am writing a review! read more

We booked this place for our wedding in August 2009. I liked it, and our guests were very impressed with the space. There is a beautiful view of the city streets and the Empire State Building from the roof terrace. The "loft" downstairs came to us clean, spacious and bare. We fit around 130 guests and waitstaff in both spaces with no problems. But the real draw is definitely the terrace, which is open for the entire time you rent the place. M&LT's staff was attentive without being overbearing, and was very accommodating of our vendors (particularly the tent guys who came at the last minute because there was a typhoon). But the best part was that renting the space was DIRT CHEAP compared to other equivalent places in NYC. They even let us have the place for an extra two hours for a reasonable (read: small) fee. The vendors you hire are up to you, but ML&T has a list of recommended ones. All I can say is do your research. Some were good (like the lighting guy) and some were bad. But when one of their recommended guys screwed up, ML&T went after the vendor, not us. On the whole, a classy, low-maintenance venue to have your shindig. read more

This is a very nice and spacious place. I went here last night for a fashion show and the rooftop terrace is just lovely. The loft had very high ceilings, was very clean, neat and upscale. The staff seemed very friendly as well. The sound system/PA system was of high quality. I'm rating this as a guest. I didn't book the space or anything, so I don't know the pricing and whatnot. The location is convenient, 5th Ave near 29th. This venue was the perfect size for our 100 guests, with room to spare for a live band, a dance floor, and a photo booth! It's so perfect, well-lit, with no awkward pillars to get in your way. The service was also impeccable. Even though we blocked out 10 hours for the wedding, the staff allowed table delivery the day before, and gave the caterer a few extra hours to set up before the event. I came to this venue for a rooftop workout sponsored by Nike, so I am speaking from a guest perspective. I really do love this space and the rooftop is fantastic. The midtown views are wonderful and I like the option of both terrace and rooftop in one space. The contemporary yet elegant and upscale vibe gives the space a nice ambiance without being pretentious. It is spacious enough for a large gathering, but could also work quite well for a smaller, more intimate gathering. When my husband I found Midtown Loft & Terrace, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. With the gorgeous views of the Empire State Building (located directly behind it) it was sure to wow all of our international guests. The price was also very reasonable for a Sunday in May and I liked how the loft was basically a blank space we could personalize. Bree and Nuri were great about sending out a list of recommended vendors early on. However, our first visit to the venue didn't go very well. The loft was closed for renovation when we got there (even though I had emailed Bree weeks before hand to confirm the date) and she didn't even have access to the roof (we basically broke in) then, to top it all off, the elevator got stuck, with all six of us in it. I was really disappointed after that visit. My family and friends had flown in specifically to see the space. After voicing my displeasure, Bree and Nuri apologized and offered to pay for the uplighting and draping by the elevators, which was a nice gesture. On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly. We used Midtown Loft Productions, and the draping and chandeliers made the space look very elegant. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the roof, which all our guests loved (the weather was perfect, which helped!) Kadir was especially helpful on the day of, loading and unloading deliveries and assisting my coordinator. Once you get there you see that the area is spacious and has beautiful views, one being the Empire State building, which you could observe easily from the terrace. The space inside is elegant, when you first walk into the loft you notice a blank space, which you are allowed to personalize and get creative with! I was able to attend a Gala that was hosted at the Midtown Loft, which was a formal event decorated with lights that illuminated the space and gave it a magical feeling. The exquisite scenic Midtown Loft & Terrace worked professionally with Ayza to make it an enjoyable night for everyone and made it memorable night for all! The ceremony was located outdoors on the rooftop. The views of the city were gorgeous and the roof was beautifully decorated with flowers. After the ceremony there was cocktail hour on the roof. Last week, we had a Sweet 16 at Midtown Loft & Terrace. It was a phenomenal experience. We rented both the loft and terrace. Both venues were absolutely breathtaking. Although, the weather was not on our side that night, the accommodations of the staff made the event flow smoothly. Bridget, the Account Manager, was extremely understanding and sweet. She took time in order to create models for light template that incorporated my name! She was also extremely accessible. Her experience in the field was clear in the way she eloquently guided the process. Tarkan, the owner, was also very accommodating and sweet. Although the aforementioned people were wonderful, there is one person who stood out. Kadir, the Event Manager, was the backbone of the entire event. He made me feel as if I didn't even have to lift a finger during the whole process! Whatever we wanted, whether that would be a change in the lighting, temperature, etc. (even before and during the party) he was on it. The first day we met him, he gave us his personal number so we were able to reach him with any questions; if that is not dedication and passion to his work, I don't know what is. He was always accessible, through text in the months and days leading up to the event. I cannot express in words my gratitude towards Kadir and would recommend Midtown Loft & Terrace, solely based on his performance. I could not be more disappointed with the communications we have had with Midtown Loft and Terrace. We visited the venue for a family event, was told the date we wanted was available. Then received a contract with the agreed upon times for our event. Once we had a contract they wanted to change the times of our event. Or charge us a significant amount of additional money to keep the times which we had agreed upon. And while we were still working out the timing and cost, we were ultimately told the date was not actually available--they had another event already booked for our date. While it is a beautiful location, I now walk away very distrustful of the management team. The good thing is that we live in New York City and there are many more beautiful venues available. read more

We had the ceremony and cocktail hour on the terrace and it was amazing - beautiful space and views. I received so many compliments that it was the perfect NYC wedding. The location was convenient but I also loved that we were able to walk to the park for photos, which was really nice. The costs were reasonable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was scaffolding around the building (it was not there when we signed the contract) but it didn't matter. You couldn't see them from the terrace or out the windows in the loft space. I've seen some weird facts stated in the other reviews. ML&T is just a space for rent. They don't have their own catering, furniture rental, bartenders, anything. If you've been there for an event, it's all been brought in by external companies. This is what we did for our wedding. - Most of all: The space is beautiful. It's spacious, it has gorgeous views, and it's very minimalist. It doesn't need much in terms of decoration. We added red Chinese lanterns, votive candles, and uplighting. We had about 100 guests and we could have fit 200. - Reasonably priced (as NYC venues go). We chose a Sunday, which was cheaper. - They include up to four couches for free (granted, from IKEA) with red or white covers, along with ottoman sets and coffee tables. This may seem trivial, but renting similar couches from a rental company could cost you $4-5000. After research, I was happy to settle with the IKEA ones. - You can rent a number of things you might need for events directly from them. For $500, they put up 12 uplights for us, which is competitive. - They were accommodating to our chosen vendors. We brought in our own furniture rentals, caterer (including a grill!), bartenders, bought our own alcohol, etc. - I have nothing but good words for Brie, their event manager. In the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, she got back to me quickly (sometimes within minutes) with floor plans, quotes, and answers for our vendors. We had some miscommunication with the staff on the day of our wedding, but after a few emails I have decided to remove that part of my review in order to be fair. In the end, everything did get set up as requested, so all's well that ends well. I will just say you definitely need to bring your own staff to coordinate and set up because the blank-slate nature of this place means you will be dealing with A LOT of vendors, and things get complicated. We had one day-of coordinator and one assistant and we could have used more. read more

Clean, white space - great for someone with creative ideas..this place has a lot of potential. Kinda bummed the rooftop wasn't open the evening I was there. Bathroom entrance is a little unsettling since it can be seen from the entire floor. Ladies' entrance leads right in, so whoever is in the left, before warned. We had our wedding at ML&T on July 12, 2015. It is part loft, where the reception would be and part terrace on the roof, where you can see the Empire State Building and perform the ceremony. We booked 2 years in advance and we worked with Tarkan. For payment, they only take bank checks. We had our wedding on a Sunday because Saturdays were a little pricier. Tarkan gave us a discount because they were planning on installing the elevator from the lobby to the terrace (they originally only had an elevator from the lobby to the loft) and they said there was a chance that the elevator would not be finished in time before our wedding and if that was the case, part of the roof would have to be closed off to the public because of the work site for the elevator. The elevator from the lobby to the terrace would have been ideal because we had some elderly and/or disabled guests who would have a hard time going up the narrow spiral staircase. They did have an option of a motorized chair that went up the spiral staircase. A couple months before our wedding, Tarkan told us that the elevator would be finished in time before the wedding but literally the week before our wedding, the person who we were in contact with told us that they had to halt the construction for the new elevator and us and our guests would have to go up to the staircase. This was a little disappointing because part of the terrace was blocked off and some of the elderly and/or disabled guests had to go up the narrow staircase. But they did do a good job covering up the construction so the guests didn't even notice it. For the day of the wedding, we were told that Kadir would be the coordinator who would help us with whatever we needed. When we showed up to ML&T the morning of our wedding, Kadir wasn't there. There was another gentleman there (in his 30s or 40s, didn't catch his name). He was just sitting on 1 of the couches checking his phone but he ultimately did more for us than Kadir ever did. There were a few issues that day. ML&T has an alcove that brides can use as their bridal suite. I had requested for furniture in there for us to get ready and relax with. When we got there, the huge moving bar was sitting in there and this was an issue because we had discussed our floor plan with the account managers (Bree and Bridget) and I knew where I wanted everything. There was a wedding there the night before and that's where they had the moving bar (which is understandable) but when they knew what time we were going to be there to start getting ready, they should have moved the bar to where we had it on our floor plan. Luckily that gentleman that worked there helped move it to where it should have been. Another issue was that I requested that all of the air conditions be turned on full blast because it was a very hot summer day (July 12!) and I heard stories and read reviews that the loft gets really hot and I didn't want that to be an issue. While we were getting ready and setting up the decorations, the loft started getting really hot. Turns out someone turned off the AC's and when I asked the guy who was there, he said that Kadir had them turn off the power so it wouldn't overheat. Kadir wasn't even on the premise and I had to call him on his cell to fix this problem because I did not want to be sweaty while getting ready and the room should be comfortable. After all, we did pay for the space. He wouldn't listen and would not turn on the AC. My bridesmaid had to call him and explain why we needed the AC on. I could not even deal with him because I was so frustrated and could not understand why he wasn't even on the premise, when we were told that he would be there for us if we needed anything. Anyhow, the AC finally got turned back on and stayed on throughout the night. The view on the terrace was wonderful. They have an outdoor green canopy that you get married under. At night, the view of the Empire State Building was beautiful. Overall, we would recommend ML&T for the view and the space. The loft is spacious and has tons of potential. The terrace is beautiful and great for entertaining (ceremony, cocktail hour, etc...) but they need to work with whoever is supposed to be there to help you the day of your event. They need to be there when you need them and respond to your needs. It is very important that they were able to help you with any concerns you may have and not have to jump through hoops to get what you need done. read more

We had our wedding here on July 9th and the space was absolutely perfect! The terrace has amazing views of the empire state building and down 5th Ave. The terrace also comes with a decent amount of flowers and trees so we didn't even need to bring any flowers for the terrace. The loft was very spacious and was perfect for our guests, a dance floor, bar area, and a lounge area. The staff was very flexible with deliveries the day of the wedding and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend booking this venue for your wedding or event. read more
