On the expensive side without the quality that one would expect from a higher end market. They don't quite meet the standards that they think they do. Deli: they seem to have a lot of call in business so you can expect to wait while the people behind the counter attend to orders for customers that aren't there. If you pay extra expecting convenience then you'll probably be disappointed. Checkout: They post and advertise that they accept Apple Pay, but most frequently the cashiers do not know how to operate the equipment. Be sure to take your credit card. read more

Small, specialty grocery...CHECK! This is not a replacement for your weekly run to Kroger or Walmart (Let me just say "I'm sorry" if Walmart your go-to grocery.) They have a limited selection of only high quality items. The meats & salad bar are great. If you are looking for some obscure produce Midtown Market is likely the only place in 100 miles to have it. They also do great work on the salad/olive bar. I'm not an olive guy myself, but maybe that's your thing. The best part for me is the fact that they have Ale-8, the Central Kentucky-bottled ginger ale. It's one of the only places in Paducah that you can find the diet version. If you are running errands and just need an item or two, this is much better than dealing with the parking & crowd of a large grocery. If you are doing a big run with $100 or more of food, getting here will likely cost you $120 or more! read more

Adorable little health, organic store & deli. They were all very friendly & food was delicious.

I stopped in here with my sister and cousin while road tripping back to St. Louis from Nashville. After a weekend of barbeque, donuts, and adult beverages, we were looking for something light and healthy and Midtown Market definitely hit the spot! I opted for a make your own sandwich which included Boar's Head cracked pepper turkey, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, and honey mustard on whole wheat bread. Half of the sandwich filled me up, leaving the other half for lunch the following day. As a Chicagoan, I thought the prices were very affordable. For $6.50, I got a plentiful sandwich with a healthy portion of Sun Chips and a pickle. Drink included (a tasty ginger kombucha), my total was $8. So, in short, for locals and for people passing through Paducah, Midtown Market is worth stopping by for sure. It has a small town feel with delicious quality, fresh and healthy ingredients. I wish there was a place like this close to my house. Two thumbs up in my book! read more

Yesterday was my first time at Midtown Market and it definitely lived up to the hype our area gives it! I loved the variety of items you could come in for. Produce, fresh meats, deli meats, specialty health products, vegan options, and what I took advantage of yesterday, their fresh made options. You can pick a plate for $8, pick a sandwich for around the same price, or opt for a freshly made daily soup. I went for a sandwich this time. I ordered the Briemix, it has turkey, melted brie, arugula, a cranberry compote spread, and apples, on this delicious bread (forgot it's exact name) with a pickle on the side. The sandwich was $8, which seems a bit much, but was wildly worth every cent. It's just not something I would typically make at home or keep the ingredients for at home, so to me it was really worth it. I also snagged a fresh made pasta salad for supper later that day. It was fantastic and I would return for that alone!! Great quality food, very friendly service, and enough variety that anyone could find something they love-- not to mention locally owned!! read more

A cross between a local specialty grocery and a campground store that supplies items for ill prepared campers. Prices are higher than the average store, however, it's not like we are awash with options in the west part of the state. Displays are well-kept with temperatures appropriate. You can expect to pay around a dollar more per pound for any fresh produce. When it comes to dry goods you can expect to pay 20 to 30% more than a larger city. That being said, you will be able to find such delicacies as pickled cactus. Though I do not know, I can assume that this is something that is not available at your local megamart. There are bulk bins which contain all of the items that one might need. Expect organic items. Their gluten-free selection is extensive, as is their hippie snack area. Want to know what a hippie snack is? Think oddly colored tortilla chips and potato chips which were never made with potatoes. Additionally they have quite a few specialty soft drinks that are not easily found. There is a prepared food area that is considerably overpriced. You can order sandwich trays or deli trays for any of your entertaining needs. The meat selection is impressive with "all natural" selections that are priced accordingly. They do have soup bones in stock. It will set you back about five dollars a pound. There are no chicken feet. But, I may be the only person in this part of the world who wants to make something out of chicken feet. You can get local milk, local honey, local chocolates, and a host of other local items that are not available in the general markets. The frozen selections are limited. Seasonings are extensive. For those of us who have been placed in an area where we fear there will be no flavor, this is a very good option. Anchovy paste, pinenuts, an assortment of olives, specialty soup bases; if you lived somewhere else and you're coming back and you fear your starvation, you could do worse than Midtown market. Overall, four stars. Mainly because the price is insane and some of the displays are confusing with price tags missing. This is just sloppy management. Though the price I can understand given the limiting factors in this area; the lack of price tags is unacceptable. read more

Hosted a sushi party at home for some friends. Midtown really came through on the fish! Sushi grade tuna and salmon plus large prawns. The tuna and the salmon were like butter, perfect for rolls, nigiri and sashimi. The prawns were for tempura and were delicious. Finally, the price was less than 1/3 what we would pay @ a restaurant and of course the alcohol was probably 1/5. Highly recommend Midtown for sushi quality fish! read more

Hit this place on the way to Grand Rivers, KY. Small, but packed full of goodies you wouldn't find at the nearby Walmart. They carry a lot of Boar's Head meats and cheeses. Definitely pricey, so be forewarned about the sticker shock. read more

When I moved back to Paducah, I assumed I left great delis in the city. (Sorry.) Midtown Market offers big flavor with local charm. The sandwiches are as good (or better) as any big city restaurant. Not only do I go every week for at least one of their lunch items (the Ruben Sandwich exceed any other in town!!). But they are always friendly and open to suggestions. I love Egg Bagels but no where in Paducah could I find them...not even the bakery here had heard of them. I suggested it to them in passing and EGG BAGELS are now stocked in the store. I am happy and my Aunt in Wisconsin is happy she does not have to keep mailing me some! So now when I am down about sometime, I stop by the market...they make me feel welcome and happy!! I travel for work, and when I am considering a new assignment, the first thing I do is find out if there is a natural foods store in the area. I lived in California for 26 years, and my standards for organic food are high. For a town this size in a corner of Kentucky, this is a lovely little store. I'd prefer wild Alaskan salmon rather than Atlantic, but I am on the other coast now. Great deli selection. The people who work there, like everyone else in Paducah, are very, very nice. I LOVE Midtown Market. Everything I've ever bought at Midtown was delicious. I've used them for catering business box lunches, wonderful entrees and sides for family holidays, trays for game days, and man alive is their meat good to use on the grill (steaks and burgers are WOW.) I've gotten to know many of the employees and even the owner Andy Carloss and have met his beautiful wife and adorable baby boy. Nicer people you'll never meet - just "golden". I see people complaining about the price of a box lunch being $8.00 and wonder what the heck are they talking about. You can go to any fast food restaurant and spend the same or more and get crap - with Midtown you are eating fresh and healthier and it doesn't cost any more. I've often found much of their produce cheaper than Kroger or Walmart. If you are in a hurry you can use their drive thru window - if you have several items you might want to call ahead and they will have your order ready for you. Smart thinking Midtown to have the convenience of a drive thru window at a grocery. I sure wish you'd develop an app so I could place my order via the computer or app ahead of time...and give you a time I was going to pick up and pay for it online - with a button saying I'd arrived so they could run it out to my car. read more

This is a very, very good market. It doesn't sell your average everyday Kroger's type grocery items. Their grocery products are more specialty groceries (different sauces, seasonings, spices, cheeses, etc. They have a deli that is phenomenal and serves delicious fresh sandwiches and other items.
