I took my $80 there hoping for a good massage. It was my mistake to take my business there. Based on the website, it looked like a good place to get an ethical massage on short notice. They do have a good web designer. I should have done more checking though. The masseuse was immature and dishonest. The owner is completely incapable of working through customer disputes in a professional and upfront manner. They both seem fixated on the idea customers only come there for other purposes. Neither of these women seems to have any clue what they are doing. I believe the masseuse tried to drag the session out by spending a disproportionate amount of time fiddling with the sheets. This is activity I have no interest in paying for. If you want to fold linen, go home and do the laundry. It's not a good place to relax and expect a great experience. The studio's don't feel very private, and they aren't well lit. It's feels very cheep and trashy there. I recommend that people spend time and get a personal recommendation when it comes to hiring a masseuse in Memphis. There are a lot of bottom feeders in this city. From now on I'll only use someone successful enough to work for themselves and that has their own studio space. Employee management is probably out of reach for even a good masseuse. read more

I came into Midtown Massage & Bodywork back in April feeling absolutely broken. I couldn't turn my head, lift my arms, or even brush my hair. My neck and shoulders were completely locked up. I was in pain and honestly just desperate for relief. Amanda was amazing from the very first session. She really listened to me, took the time to understand what I was feeling and made me feel heard. She was patient, thoughtful, and truly caring. I trusted her completely and followed the therapy plan she recommended and I'm so glad I did. I highly recommend Midtown Massage. This was my first visit and the atmosphere is very therapeutic and welcoming, not as sterile a feel as other places I've been and that was a nice change. There was even a small fireplace in the my room! Karina was absolutely AMAZING!! Hands down best massage I've ever had! Can't wait to go back! This place was really easy to book an appointment on their website. I booked with Tom, and he was completely able to work the kinks out in my back and now I am no longer in pain.
