Fabulously friendly Farrah was there as hostess, and I had no problem filling up with my favorite carbonated beverage, East Ciders. Only a couple of issues. The BBP has a rooftop and ground floor. I think the roof is 4th floor, and there is an elevator. Care should be taken not to set up a food line that blocks the entry of both the stairway and elevator. Second, the BBP needs to provide a few pub tables for those without three hands. With only one hand to hold my drink, and another to hold my plate, I was glad to find horizontal surfaces in the window sill to hold my Cider.

We had the pleasure of digging up old and replanting anew. This was a very great day to be out in the garden. The weather was great and we got this place whipped into shape. They are currently under construction for the new homes for the vets but you can see the vision and hard work going into making this all happen. Thank you for your service.

It's amazing to see the development from a couple of trailers on an empty lot in 2013. I went back to see a few permanent buildings in 2014. The Russell Ybarra House, first apartment with 26 rooms, was built and asphalt was laid in 2015. Fitness center was built on Berry Brigade Blvd in 2016. I was here again this year. They are making way to build another apartment. Camp Hope is a project to help veterans with post-traumatic syndrome disease (PTSD) to transition into normal life. Although I didn't serve during a war, but I have met people who had PTSD. This disease requires healing in their minds over time with proper help. Truth is in the pudding. Everyone who's familiar with its program at Camp Hope all said they helped the veterans to stay focus with life and stayed away from suicides. If you can't volunteer, at least attend the annual BBQ cook-off event in October. **67th review of 2017**

Hope Farms is a beautiful 7 acre farm that has a stand every Saturday from 9am to 12pm and they sell fresh produce picked that same morning. We came towards the end of the market so there wasn't much left but they gave us some great deals! We got 3 boxes of peppers for only $5- they were so fresh and delicious! We walked around the property and there's a lot to see. There's flowers with lots of butterflies, rows and rows of leafy greens, chickens (apparently not enough to sell eggs, but maybe in the future), and even bees in the very back! There is also a gorgeous barn that would be nice to host a gathering at- not sure if they rent it out or plan to in the future. It was such a nice surprise to find Hope Farms- much needed to address the food desert in the Southeast community! I would love to come back earlier in the day to see the whole selection of goods to choose from.

Parking: Parking is always an issue for me (and why most of my reviews have it first). Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there really is designated parking as this gallery is in the heart of Montrose. There is street parking available but depending on the day/night it could be hard to find a spot nearby. This is the main reason for my reduced rating. The space: I love that the space is divided into 3 sections! It allows for a great flow through an exhibit, and the current one (Empty by Jack Potts) used this layout extremely well! I also love that they kept details from the original house (such as the wood flooring). This really adds to the experience and keeps the older energy of Montrose alive while bringing new art in. I also love the front courtyard, though it seems like an afterthought for the gallery. I would love to see them stragically bring it in to be more a part of the venue (the way the back patio is when the back doors are open). Boheme: Since the gallery is next to Boheme and shares a back courtyard, this would seem to be a great way to have people flow into the shows. During the opening night of Empty the back patio bar was open and you could order cocktails from Boheme to bring in which was a great idea. Overall I'm excited to see what else this gallery does and what shows they host. I wish they would do more promotion though .

Now we have to figure out: Where did the Flatland? This is a really cute, bougie, sweet, fancy small Art Gallery located in the Montrose neighbourhood. These galleries and other stores and places of interest that are similar are part of what keeps the Hipster heartbeat alive, and why Montrose is Montrose. For this reason we really appreciate it. I'm sure we'll come back here in future.

I have to let you in on a little secret, though. Avenida is, to me, Houston's living room. Why? Watch parties for the Astros, Texans, Rockets, and my alma mater UH have taken place here, and they never fail in drawing huge crowds. When the Super Bowl was here eight years ago, this was where several sports outlets set up shop to broadcast their shows. On a beautiful day, it's a great place to take a stroll and/or mingle. I came here yesterday for the Texans Draft Watch Party, and despite the rain and the team trading out of the first round, I still had a super fun time. Highly recommend to locals and tourists.

I was here for the Black History celebration that's taking place every Saturday during black history month. The celebration includes vendors through BLCK Market and local music performers. The music acoustics were perfect. Marium Echo performed flawlessly. There was a bar/lounge-like area elegantly set up that would've been perfect on a nice weather day. Unfortunately it was pretty chilly so no one was sitting in the area. Looking forward to more concert series once the weather is nicer.

He was great. An awesome instructor. I messed up plenty of times and he was there to help my painting look more... artistic as if Picasso painted it himself, instead of a toddler just painting. Lol He brought energy to the class. The music was on point. Even grabbed some hits for my personal Apple Music playlist. He mentioned they have Paint your Pet... and I will definitely be back for that. I was thinking about doing this with my sister, and going to one closer to my home, but I need Sean Paul in my life again. So I will be coming back JUST for that reason alone.

It is a very beautiful culture and community center, that is open to everyone to use and enjoy…read more Right now, they have only one entrance gate open, which is on W Dallas St. There is a guard that will guide you where to park your car, it is very easy to navigate here. After you park downstairs in the garage you can take the elevator to the first flood to check-in. On the weekend, they are having a free tour for the visitors. They also have wheelchair service if you need a wheelchair because there is a lot of ground to cover here. For the tour, they will give you a tour group assigned color lanyard. The tour was very informative and you get to get a good sense of the layout so you can explore the rest of the place by yourself. There is a good amount of security at this time. At this time the cafe is not open yet.
