On the second attempt to deliver, I clearly requested an hour's notice since I don't live at the property. Instead, I received a text less than 15 minutes before their arrival at 8:30 a.m. -- no consideration or proactive communication. They knew the day before that I was the second stop and could have easily notified me sooner. There was zero mention that someone had to be physically present at the property -- not in the store, not in the confirmation email, and not in any of the text messages. I even had a door code ready and was available by phone, but that wasn't acceptable to them either. The communication failures at every stage -- in-store, via text, and during delivery coordination -- were unacceptable. This will be the last time I purchase from Bob's. If you value clear communication and reliable delivery, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

They use text messages and e-mails that have contradictory delivery time frames. And the live chat person doesn't line up with the e-mail information either. They tried to deliver on a Saturday at 7am, when the email said after 8am. Then refused to come back in action known as a "Turn Around." Then despite requesting some time frame any day of the week between 8am and 5pm. The most recent info suggests they will try to deliver after 9pm on a weeknight. Ordered the couch a month ago, still don't have it.

The credit card was not mailed in a timely fashion and if I hadn't called I would have owed a $41 late payment and charged 34.99% on the balance of the mattress. The mattress itself is great I just am quite disappointed at their dishonesty.

I believe a 3.5 star if possible would probably be more fitting…read more The mattress value would be five stars but the value considering the price would be two stars. For the last four years, nearly every business that sells a product or service has been taking advantage of the poor economy. The current regime in power tells us that inflation is down and the economy is great. Well that only works for the people who won't think on their own. We all know it isn't great. The small amount of our cost of living increases for this year don't usually cover the increased cost of groceries in a month, much less anything else. But the worst thing is corporations now have the freedom to use the economy as an excuse to raise prices to exorbitant levels. The only choice we have is to take it or leave it. Well we've been purchasing from Verlo since the 1990s and we have a queen setup that will be due to be replaced. But I'm thinking we will put that off. There is no way to check the honesty of the constant price increases. For the first two years we heard the excuses of the virus, supply chain problems, labor problems, transportation problems, "global" nonsense issues and all other excuses that could be applied. Now, they don't even bother with excuses. They just up the prices at will. McDonalds CEO recently admitted that their prices were creeping up while nobody complained. Well now their customers are complaining and they claim they will do something about it. And I believe this tactic is commonplace now. The retailer/seller has free rein and they know it. My wife stopped on her way home from work to order a twin mattress. I asked her when she got home because we bought the exact same mattress in October of last year. The cost now is 23.8% higher than the purchase five months ago. I called Verlo to inquire but the call was answered at their other location. I explained my concern and he stated that some mattresses "had a small increase". I kept it polite as even when angry I don't believe losing one's temper proves a point. But I do not appreciate the fact that he thought I was stupid enough to think that nearly 24% is a small increase. Every step along the way of a product or service will be profitable for the supplier until the consumer purchases it. And they most likely will be ripped off with the inflated price. I know writing this won't change the ways of retailers who are only making the economy worse and taking advantage of their customers, but it certainly doesn't hurt to let them know that we are on to their underhanded and greedy ways. Thanks Verlo!

I just wanted to take a minute to review this store. I don't typically review retailers, but this…read moreone deserves it. My wife and I have been shopping for a new mattress for a few days and had been into Sam's looking at them. As we were leaving Sam's, I saw the Mattress Firm and we decided to go in and take another look. I say another look because we had actually been in another location yesterday. When we walked in, we were greeted by Jordan, who introduced himself and asked what he could help us with today. Then we all had a good laugh because we were in a mattress store, obviously we were looking at mattresses! Jordan warmed us that he was going to be asking us a lot of questions and that they were probably going to seem repetitive, but he was just trying to get us a mattress that was exactly what we wanted. All told, we probably spent an hour in the store. We tried multiple mattresses and we were never pushed towards anything, which was really refreshing! We found a mattress that we really liked and even ended up with one of the frames that elevates the head. Jordan asked me about one while were looking at the different mattresses, and I told him that I wasn't interested in one because it would be like a hospital bed. After we found a mattress we really liked, Jordan asked me if I had ever been on a bed that could elevate the head or feet. I admitted that I hadn't and he asked me if I wanted to see what it felt like. I thought what the heck, we're here anyway, so we tried it out. I wasn't crazy about elevating my legs, but I really liked being able to elevate my head. I had no idea I'd like it, and actually thought I'd hate it, but ended up buying it. All in all, a fantastic experience with an incredibly knowledgeable and personable salesperson. Next time one of the beds in the house needs a new mattress, I'm going back to see Jordan.

During our conversation, my wife mentioned that she had access to a personal credit account through a program offered by her employer. Instead of asking what our budget was, the salesperson asked how much available credit she had. We found this question inappropriate and unnecessarily personal. The amount of available credit on someone's personal account is private financial information. There is a big difference between asking, "What's your budget?" and asking, "How much available credit do you have?" When we explained that we were not comfortable sharing that information, the salesperson's attitude changed noticeably. He stated that he didn't want to hover over us and then stopped assisting us almost entirely. It felt as though the level of service we received was tied to our willingness to disclose personal financial details. We understand that salespeople need to determine what products fit a customer's price range. However, there are professional ways to do that without asking customers to reveal personal account balances or available credit limits. We came in intending to shop for a mattress and left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. Customer service should not depend on whether a customer is willing to disclose private financial information.
