Office staff was patient & friendly. We didn't have all the info we needed initially and had to ask lots of questions. Ms. Lydia was courteous & professional the whole time. The service and quality of care, 5 stars all the way. The rules here, however, are completely inconsistent and vary by week. One week, they were *only* taking walk-ins. Another week, they were referring everybody to their Ashland location. This week, they're only accepting online appointments! What's it going to be, next week? To make matters worse they don't make any announcements, or tell people otherwise. I was hoping to have a nice conversation about my lab results but now I don't plan on returning unless I start feeling sick again. No one has time for this nonsense. read more

Don't go to this location me an my fiance went the to find out he had shingles they wanted a follow up visit for something else which would have cost alot w no insurance but that isn't even it a follow-up visit for the shingles is 25 they didn't ask him for that they said his script was at walgreens an to have a nice day only to find out the prescription wasn't sent as n when we called for a doctor's note for missing time off work they said only for the day they visit that he chose to take off cause he didn't make a follow up visit the doctor an the doctor never said take off r they insane he works in a kitchen shingles is very contagious but the one in calumet is fabulous go there read more

I went yo midwest express clinic and was told I would get a call in three to four days of my test record. After not getting a call after completing my prescription given .. no call was received . When i called back days later , I was told they didnt have a doctor in on the weekend so to wait until i got a call the following week. How are they operating without having a doctor??? I usually don't write reviews but I was completely disappointed in this clinic. The signage in the front of the clinic says they "Accept All Insurance" and it's literally minutes from my home so I was so enthused to have an urgent care near my home. I needed immediate medical care so we go in and was given paperwork to start filling out. When done as instructed I hand the receptionist my ID & insurance card and immediately was told they don't accept my insurance(BCBS-HMO) and turned me away. I just left amazed at the false advertisement. I wasted my time when I needed urgent medical care and had to find another urgent care that stays true to it's advertising. read more

If I could give this place a 0 I will do it. I went to get a test, they didn't ask me anything, just took my money and did it. After two days I came back for the results, and said they are positive. It was a skin test, it was itching these days. That day, they said I have to pay over $250 dollars to get the test te done, but know a blood test. ????? Why did not say anything about a blood test? And they did it on my skin?. The skin TB Test was $60, and plus $250, are you kidding me? Plus the lady in the main entrance was rude. Never going back, never telling someone to go there. The worst of the worst. The place smelled like weed the two times I went. A clinic should smell clean and not like that. No parking at all. And the waiting area is too small. I had the worse experience at this clinic. I came in for tb testing and a physical for work. I called numerous times to check on the status of my completed forms. I was given the run around, placed on hold for long periods of time and hung up on repeatedly. The patient advocate was of no assistance either, she gave me every excuse pWhen the forms were finally given to me they were blank. Never completed. I am now out of a job because I missed my deadline. Update: the owner responded to my review and requested I contact the patient advocate. In my review I stated the patient advocate was of no assistance. She kept calling me by the wrong name and she told me the clinic's phone lines were down so she could not assist. There is no corporate number or email. That leaves me with no way to have this matter resolved. read more

I needed a medical evaluation for foster care I called in advance Well when I got there they took my $60.00 cash.....and said it's $400.00 and you cannot get yr 60 back it's 60 to walk in door... The wait to see a doctor is around 10 minutes at best. The doctor I seen during my two visits was good. My issue is that I never received a bill statement from my second visit on Dec 12th. I'm now finding out that I have a bill when I received a text message saying it's over 120 days due. read more

UPDATE: I fully expected the owner response requesting that I call a toll free number so that some anonymous person on the other end can pretend to care about my experience. After all, I saw the same scripted response to each of the other negative reviews. I won't be calling that number. After cancelling my visit, I went to OSF OnCall Urgent Care at 115th & Kedzie. OSF treated me as I wished Midwest would have treated me. My family will be going there from now on. I registered online for 1:10pm at the Blue Island location and got there at least 30 minutes before my registered time. For anyone who has never been there before, the time isn't an appointment time. Checking in online puts you in line to be seen and you are advised to show up a little bit before your time. After sitting in my car until 1:45pm, I called them. A girl answered after 10-15 rings. It turns out registering online means nothing anymore. You still have to check in when you get there, although there was no notice advising of this change. The website still says to check in online to shorten your wait time. I pointed out to the girl that I was never required to check in upon arrival before. I just showed up before my time and they called me when it was my turn. Well, COVID. I brought it to her attention that the confirmation email says nothing about having to check in after registering on line. Not her fault. Corporate's fault. So, two hours after registering online, and over an hour after arriving, I'm at the end of the line. I decided to cancel and go somewhere else. I went online to do so and it turns out I had a new time of 2:54pm, over an hour after my phone call to them. I will never use Midwest Express Clinic again. read more

I'm very dissatisfied with this establishment. I understand we are human and mistakes can happen. It's how we resolve the issue that matters. I went to Midwest Express Clinic in Blue Island Sunday afternoon for a medical emergency. I was seen by a physician and I was told my prescription would be called in. After calling my pharmacy and no record of the prescription I called Midwest to follow up on the status. They tell me I haven't been there since 2019. I said I was there yesterday. I described the individuals that helped me and the process from beginning to end. They said oh we have to research and will reach out to the doctor. I find out that they put my information under someone else's name. I called for a status update and was placed on hold for a long period of time and still no update. I finally reached out to my primary doc to tell them what's going on and they corrected it right away. The staff at Midwest Express Clinic in Blue Island today were rude and acted like they didn't care because it wasn't their error and they were off the day I came in. I was told well it's going to be a wait because it's Monday and we're backed up. I stated that it was unfair to me that I came in for a medical issue the day before and the clinic isn't taking responsibility for their error in mixing up patients charts. It's unacceptable that I still haven't been contacted by anyone from the clinic about my medical issue and it's the end of the business day. This could have ended in a wrong diagnosis or wrong prescription being issued. I will be contacting the attorney general. read more

I was very hesitant about using this place instead of my local hospital (christ) but was so glad i tried midwest express clinic. I had a knee injury and of course googled it and this place came up. Not wanting to get stuck at the hospital for hours i decided to try this place. I just went today and was in and out in about an hour with an x-ray. No break maybe slight tear at worst. hmmm where should I start? I was almost ready to sue these ppl for injecting me with the wrong medicine due to their lab results being incorrect! They tried to send me to a special doctor and was about to have me waste 100s of dollars based off a misdiagnosis on their end! The front desk receptionists are overly rude and inconsiderate of their patients needs. These people are so lazy and don't want to perform their job duties. They'll say they sent your prescription off, just to arrive at the pharmacy to see that the clinic either sent it to the wrong pharmacy or didn't send anything at all! One time I was sick and my voice was almost gone ! this clinic prescribed me a codeine syrup and sent it to a pharmacy that didn't carry it, I called the clinic the receptionist told me that I need to call around to see which pharmacy carries this syrup. she had no regards that I barely even had a voice! And that's the clinics job, I as a patient should not call a pharmacist discussing what medications they carry! They keep changing managers which obviously isn't helping. I've never seen an office full of healthcare professionals behave so incompetently! read more

This was my first time visiting Midwest Express urgent aid. I was referred to it by my insurance company because I have a dual plan Medicare and Medicaid. There were many places that did not accept my insurance plan as it is. So the insurance company help me to find this place. When I first got there I was surprised because it was right next door to where I got my dentures when I walked in it was so small and at first I don't know if I wanted to go there. I handed the young woman my medical card and ID and she said according to my insurance, I would have a $65 copay since it was an urgent aid. But since I had Medicaid they use that so I guess they use both. I had quite a wait when they called me back but when I got in the provider was Jennifer who is a nurse practitioner. I love nurse practitioners she was good she was the fish and chest all the right questions she made me feel comfortable. And I will be going back. It's not slick but there's something that I like about it I can't explain it it's just different. oh before I cut on the only thing that I did not care for its that I had an appointment and it seemed like they couldn't find it or wasn't in the system outside of that no problem. read more

I miss paying a bill with them. They put it on my credit. It was a 50 dollar bill. I called them they said I had 2 bills actually. They couldn't tell for what. I paid both bills in full. Asked for them to take it off my credit. They told me I had to pay them 50 dollars to have it removed. After I paid the bill in full. This is crazy how this medical staff does its patients. Please train your receptionist to verify patient benefits. My daughter's appointment on 7/9/2019 was delayed because the receptionist, Stephanie, refused to verify our insurance because I didn't have the card but gave her the ID number. She told me to call them myself and that she doesn't normally verify because she has other things to do. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, it is never the patient's responsibility to verify their own coverage and walk in with an eligibility report. read more

The clinic services are okay however their billing department is running a scam. I haven't seen a doctor in over a year, however, they continue to send me invoices which no one can explain. They have sent my invoices to collections twice. Never does an invoice have a date of service or services rendered on them. Please be aware of this company as I find it really hard to believe that they are actually providing service considering I've been invoiced over 600. for a random physical. Also, they do not honor their agreements with insurance companies ... I've contacted them more than once and their local office says they don't do the billing and the billing department says we changed billing companies, meanwhile any number you are provided never picks up. It tells you that you are next caller then the line drops after waiting 35 minutes... Shame that such a company can operate this way while dealing with peoples personal health. read more

Before I stopped by here, I decided to check their website since appointments nowadays are mostly done online. I was able to make a "place in line" for myself and even upload my ID and insurance card on their site. When I stoped by it was pretty busy and there was a bit of a wait for an open room. But luckily I didn't wait more than 30 minutes. That may sound like a long time for others but we need to be very patient, especially with healthcare workers who are doing the best they can in these busy environments. But it definitely helped that I schedule my place in line on their site. Once it was my turn, a nurse with platinum blonde hair (I believe), took my test samples and my medical information. She was super nice and helped calm my nerves. Once that was done, I waited in my room for about 7 minutes and a doctor named Sarah came in. We went over my symptoms and she did some tests on me. She was able to figure out what the issue was (along with my test results). She was very kindhearted and calm. I was all done and the office assistants didn't really need anything from me since they had my information I uploaded the night before. No reason to make an appointment when walk ins are seen before you!!! Lady at front desk named latanya is overwhelmed apparently so she is unorganized when taking intake of patients and doesn't do them in correct order! Overall convenient facility but needs better organization skills and professionalism from staff. Hire more staff for intake and handling of calls and appointments it's ridiculous to wait over an hour to be seen with an appt time for something simple as sports physical. read more

Dr. Nicole was a nightmare! Everytime I would book an appointment with another doctor, she would walk into my room. I made appointments with totally different doctors and she would show up. She had a demonic smile at odd times. I saw her purposely trip and she knocked all the examination setup on the floor. She waited a long time to pick it up. On our first appointment she said she knew nothing about my problem. The next appointment she told me she had lots of experience dealing with my problem. She was already lying. And she hides her face the entire time she is examining me. She stuck me with a sharp object that isnt used for these examines. I felt like she but a burning chemical on the end of my swab, I believe it was rubbing alcohol. Then she tried to prescribe an old dangerous damaging prescription, that isnt normally prescribed. The tests I received at Midwest Express results were completely different from the ER. dr. nicole prescribed me the wrong medication on purpose. So I took meds I didn't even need. dr nicole acts weird and creepy. I thought she was a liar and unprofessional. The Midwest Urgent care is prejudice, they serve white people before anybody else. The results at the Mt Greenwood location was completely different than the ER. But the receptionist at the Mt Greenwood location is the best! She is so nice and bubbly. She makes everyone feel good. The receptionist is the real one holding it down. I natively always thought doctors had morals. There are some wicked doctors pretending to care for the sick. And dr nicole can't be trusted. If you get assigned dr nicole make sure there is another person to watch. She can't be trusted alone. Find another urgent care with doctors that have more experience. read more

worst staff (front desk girl) I have ever encountered!! I called ahead of time and was told that I needed to check in 15 minutes prior to closing which is 9PM. I arrived at 8:25PM and the very ignorant girl behind the desk said they couldn't take us because there were 4 ppl ahead of us and it is an hour wait. I said this is a walk in clinic, why would that matter when I was told to arrive 15 prior to closing to be seen? She rolled her eyes at me and then counted the clip boards and said they wouldn't see me. After arguing with her she told me to sit down she would ask a provider. She never even moved from that desk!! I walked out and took my son to the Willowbrook location the following morning. The worst customer service I have ever received. I asked to speak to the manager 3 times and was told I would get a call back each time and I never did. Charged me $500 for my visit which I paid then later on proceeded to tell me they can't see the payment but it was easily taken and seen out of my bank account. Tanya the secretary has told me multiple times that I would be in touch with someone in higher power and they would call me back but it's been weeks. They are unorganized and don't tell you the complete information about billing. The clinic charged me $500 which I paid and then I got a bill from quest diagnostics for $1700 for some simple blood work. I was never informed that the clinic sends out specimens to a third party company and that they would charge separately. I called midwest express clinic billing department twice and was hung up on both times. I suggest to never go here if you don't want to be screwed over. They have no idea what they're doing. I initially came here out of necessity; my primary care physician of many years abruptly stopped practicing and, needing an Rx refill, came to the last place I knew her to be practicing out of. The nurse practitioner I've been dealing with has been very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The facility is clean and well-equipped. It's located in a strip mall and fairly easy to find, though on my first visit, the lot was full, necessitating my a bit of a wait for parking.My first visit was as a walk-in, the second with an appointment, and both times I was helped promptly. I expect to get a new primary care facility much closer to home, so will not look to Midwest Express to be my go-to for annual physicals, routine medical needs, etc. but it's a very good alternative to emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, drug store clinics, etc. I would not hesitate to return in a non-emergency situation, for a flu shot, or as a follow up to something I was initially helped with here. read more
