I got bad prescriptions from this place! Dr. Youssef Choucair was in such a hurry BOTH my prescriptions are bad. My distance on my progressive and my computer prescription are both worse than my older ones I was using from 2 years ago. Of course I didn't find out until I had paid for new glasses/lenses at a better priced competitor. He was in such a hurry to get me through the "exam" and into the sales room that he just didn't seem to care. Upon my stating that I wasn't going to buy glasses while my eyes were dilated(!), he and the sales person just walked away. No explanation of pricing, options, anything. I made an appointment for an eye exam because they are in network with my insurance and I need new glasses as the ones I currently have are 4 years old. When I got there I filled out their "brief" medical history paperwork. The staff member who brought me back for my exam told me that before I can get glasses they have to do a $125 medical exam on me because I am diabetic. This was not mentioned when I called to make the appointment. It does not make sense. I have a doctor who is managing the diabetes. If I wasn't taking care of myself and didn't even know I was diabetic, they would have done the exam and sold me glasses without charging me for a medical exam. It seems they are trying to find ways to separate people from their hard earned money. read more

They are very expensive on their glasses. I found another place down the road from them, which was much less. Also, they messed up on my new prescription. Had to put up with a miserable experience for a few days. My old glasses, which I had misplaced, was much better! I now have the corrected glasses and they still don't seem right. They are slightly more fuzzy than my old ones and something doesn't seem right. I have attempted to talk to someone at Midwest about this and haven't resolved this yet, or suspect might never! I will not be a returning customer. I only gave them a try because my previous eye doctor does not take my insurance any more unfortunately. My billing statement was very innaccurate and made no sense. What I paid in office the day of my appointment was not even listed on my billing statement. I never had these issues at my previous eye doctor. The eye glasses selection here is also terrible. I would gladly pay out of pocket at my previous eye doctor to not ever have to deal with this place again. Please save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. read more

If you don't mind going back three or four or even five times for them to get your glasses right, oh and waiting for a few months to get them, then this is the place for you. I have been back to the office about three times in the past three months and I still don't have my glasses. First the bifocal portion of the glasses were too high. I was told to just wear them and get used to it. Then I went back another time and the lenses kept popping out of the frame. I have had so many problems here. I cannot continue to miss work to go to this office for zero results. I wish I could just have my money back and go somewhere else. By the way, they rarely ever answer the phone and when they do, they will put you on hold until you hang up. I will never go back to this place ever again. read more

I can not provide a visit review, but what I can provide is the following: Once I said that I was Diabetic, they insistent on a Diabetic Eye Exame (for an additional $250.00), I did not want this, I just wanted the regular eye exame and glasses, They said it was their policy and those were, the rules! in other words they had no legitimate or legally binding reason for their policy. It would apprear that they are just trying to extract as much money from their customer base as possible! End result They are not going to get my money ever! read more

Let me start by saying I am a long time client. Booked my appointment 3 weeks in advance. Receptionist calls to confirm appointment. She had me scheduled for the wrong time and won't adjust the schedule to fit me in. I am a very detailed person and wrote the date and time in my planner and my phone. Spoke with the manager the best she could do was say I'll talk to the staff. I really needed my glasses but I'm taking my money elsewhere. Is it because I'm black. Hmmm I wonder. read more

If I could do a review with zero stars I would but alas, I have to give them one. After waiting three months, my daughters lenses came in for her glasses. They broke her frames putting them in and gave her a backup frame. still, she couldn't see. Waited another month for replacement frames. In the meantime, got contacts, nope, still couldn't see. Replacement frames come in, lenses placed, nope, still couldn't see. After being told she misses too many appointments (2, cancelled one, ran late to another) by the doctor and that it had been six months since her exam, duh, that she should just wear the lenses for another six months and we will do another exam in 6 months. Also, the lenses have since worked their way loose from the frames and the staff treated her and my wife like second class citizens. The ONLY exception and the only reason we kept going back was Brittney but even that doesn't do it any longer. Are you kidding me, "wait six months"? How about you not be able to see for six months! We'll, we will be doing another exam, at a different eye doctor! Save your money, run don't walk from this place! read more

I was told that I would not have to have eyes dilated if I sent recent records. which I did. The story changed when I got there. Blamed "new staff" which I don't believe. Also don't believe this was an accident. Wasted my time. Asked to speak to Dr. Hoover, which did not happen. I do not recommend at all. I felt like I had been manipulated. I was charged $1010 for a exam and glasses. After going back 3 times and then finally getting my glasses remade, I get a bill in the mail wanting another $39. At this point I am going over all the charges and I realize something is just not right. I am talking to a young lady that is very evasive about my questions. I now just want a refund. I got my glasses back May 25th, it is July 20th 2018. Even though I am suppose to have a two year warranty and have not been happy since Feb. I was told do not worry about the price, I did not have to pay my insurance had to. I told the lady excuse me, I pay for insurance every month. So yes I do pay for it. WOW. She told me I will not get a refund, they cannot help me because they don't have to give a refund and they have gone beyond what they have to. I would not refer a friend or enemy to them. I was going to the LaPorte office, I went in and had to schedule 3 different days for additional testing even though I had the tests at another office and the results were negative. I would assume this is because of insurance billing. I went in for eye glasses and was not able to even get a appointment for over a month! On the day of appointment number 2 I received a call that they had messed up the appointments and I would need to reschedule even though I received a call the day confirming.
