After performing a thorough eye exam the doctor stated that my eye looked perfect, he also did a quick review of my neck and upper back and determined that the source of my eye pain may be referred pain from that area. He referred me to Absolute Rehab, to say the least I was skeptical but decided to give it a try. During my 1st visit I was very much impressed by how quickly Constance and Retu identified the misalignment of my left shoulder blade and the lack of surrounding muscle tissue. Retu immediately recommended a 6 week therapy and exercise program that Constance would guide me through in the coming weeks. Here I am 6 weeks later and my eye pain is minimal at its worst, my posture is better than it's been for 20 years and I rarely feel the tightness and pain that has plagued me for the past 30 years. I plan to continue the stretching and exercises I learned here for as long as I can, because I feel great as a result. I tried a steroid injection, hoping for relief, but it only helped the pain in my leg and did nothing for my back. I decided to try The Stretch Club, and I'm so glad I did. Regarding the actual treatment: it didn't help. I went for multiple visits a week for two months, and improved, at the most (if at all), %15. If I remember correctly, he claimed to have a 90% success rate. It's possible I'm part of the 10%. All I know is that it didn't help. My bigger gripe has to do with the billing. It wasn't made clear to me how much I'd actually end up being billed- even after buying the additional "Chirohealth" coverage. The place had been recommended to me by my Dupage Medical Group spine physician, as such I assumed the service would be at least as recognized by my insurance as the last chiropractor I went to (under same insurance). I probably would not have tried this place out if I had been informed ahead of time how much each visit would end up costing me. Or at least, I would have discontinued going after only a couple of weeks when there were no results. But I didn't get the bill until after my last appt- and I was surprised to get a bill at all because I was under the impression the $18 per visit I paid in office at the time of the appointment covered it.

When I first called to make an appointment, I specifically asked if I would incur any out-of-pocket expenses. I was told no and that I had met my deductible after my insurance was run. I was aware that I have coinsurance, but I have never received a coinsurance bill for chiropractors or other physical therapists. 2. When I attended, the physical therapists were double-booked. Generally there was one therapist per about 3-4 patients. I have been an athlete my entire life so physical therapy is not new to me. This is the first time I have been compelled to get my phone out and play games waiting for the PT to complete working with another patient. 3. I received an itemized bill that has different prices for THE SAME billing code. I called to clarify how I had an outstanding balance given that I was told I would not have to pay anything out of pocket. I also asked why THE SAME billing code has different prices. I was told a manager would call me back. They never did. Rather, I received another letter threatening to send me to collections. I called again today and I was told that whoever was supposed to call me back "did not see a reason to." Clearly they care about money more than their patients. The physical therapists are fine professionals, but whoever is running the admin, billing, and operations should be fired. There are physical therapy clinics on every corner in Illinois. Next time I will go elsewhere.
