From the amazingly kind front desk staff to the incredibly skilled nurses we truly enjoyed interacting and working with everyone. Especially Dr. Gehlbach. So far we've had a good experience with Dr. Dan Gehlbach and his team. Their office staff is extremely knowledgable and professional. During our first visit they went over our test results and previous lab work to recommend and offer multiple options. They made their professional suggestions as to where to begin and they left it up to us. The presented a some what conserative approach to start but did offer more aggressive options. Dr. Gehlbach and his team are very attentive. I feel comfortable asking a lot of questions and they don't mind educating me. They have a nurse line that you can call if have questions after your visit and they return your call promptly. They have financing options and give cash discounts. I was actually surprised we were able to afford our care. I was very concerned about how pricey these treatments can be. We actually had success after our first round of treatments, however I ended up having an early miscarriage. After a 30 day break, we're on round #2. I share this openly because I've appreciated those who've shared openly with me in their similar journey. This road can be tough and it's nice to hear from others who've walked his path. Run as fast as you can away from this clinic. 4 months of Treatment, met the Doctor himself 1 time, and that was during a routine procedure. They offered few statistics regarding their success and were dishonest about the little information they gave. Their billing specialist was inconvenienced and rude when asked to provide simple items like an itemized receipt. Their IVF treatment plan was handwritten on a legal pad. I am so glad I followed my gut instinct and left this scam before spending $30K on IVF with them. This clinic wasted 6 months of my precious time. Fortunately, I am pregnant due to fabulous doctors at another clinic. I implore anyone about to begin this difficult process to Do your research, don't blindly trust a referral from your trusted OBGYN. My husband and I are both really glad we choose this clinic. The staff have all been wonderful - they're kind, accommodating and professional. Over the course of our testing and cycles we've worked with all three APRNs and it's been a very good experience. Our initial consult was very informative, all potential testing was laid out and we went over the different ART options and the costs for each. They've always made sure to get us on the schedule, including squeezing an ultrasound appointment in when they were fully booked. The lab staff are terrific as well. Unfortunately we're still on our journey to have a baby but we know we're in good hands with Dr. Gehlbach and the staff at MRC. read more

We made an appointment and only a nurse spoke with us for for two hours. They charged us $450 for things they said they do for everyone at a first visit, such as blood tests and transvaginal ultrasounds, without giving us a heads up that they would be happening. We never met with Dr. Gelbach once, and yet he sent my regular doctor a prescription for fertility hormones. We are a same-sex couple and we didn't feel welcome, we felt like we were ushered to private rooms and it all felt very money-oriented, like we were being given a pitch for a time-share. They are just very poor at communicating in general and at treating queer couples in a welcoming manner specifically. read more

These people are vultures and riddled with billing issues. I strongly recommend finding anywhere else to go because otherwise you are most likely wasting your time and money. My fiance and I were patients a couple of years ago. We decided to use their services and picked a procedure to try. Everyone seemed so nice and they explained what to expect with both the procedure and the billing. The first two attempts were unsuccessful and we decided to try one more time. A few days before were were scheduled for our final attempt, we received a phone call from their billing department. The lady insisted that my insurance policy changed and so the insurance company would not pay for the medication needed to get my body ready for the procedure even though they had paid twice before. She informed me that I had to go to the pharmacy and buy the medication out of pocket, and administer it to myself before coming in. Both times prior to this, the medication was on hand at the doctor's office and the nurse gave me the shot. Even though they said I had to pay for the medication out of pocket, and give the shot to myself, their charges did not change. I called my insurance company to find out why my policy changed since the term had not expired. They told me it had not changed. They said they had left several voicemails with Midwest Reproductive to let them know they picked the wrong option when submitting the claim. They could not get the billing department to take their call or call them back. My insurance company told me exactly what the billing lady needed to do in order to get everything back on track as it had been before. I called the billing lady and she refused to listen to me. She said that she had been doing the job for years and she knows what she's doing. I cancelled my appointment and never went back again. If I can't trust them to get their billing right how can I trust them to help make us parents? Now my fiance and I have decided to try again and we chose a different fertility specialist. We submitted medical releases to several doctor's offices. Today I get a call from Midwest Medical. I was told that if I want them to release mine and my fiance's records I would have to pay them $30.00. I know its just $30 but the fact that these people want more money from us and are holding our records and dream hostage pisses me off. They received thousands from my insurance when I was their patient and they can't just send the files over without more money in their incompetent hands. I let the lady who called know that none of the other doctor's offices called me for money to send over our files and, two years ago, when we were their patient no doctor's office charged us to have our records sent to them. She responded that different doctor's offices have different policies and asked for my card number. She asked if I would like a receipt and confirmed my mailing address. I asked her to email it to me instead. She actually said..."our office doesn't use email...its not safe." My degree is in cyber security. I let her know that with encryption it would be perfectly safe to send a receipt to me via email and with the amount of money they overcharge, even just for a medical record to be sent to another doctor's office, they should be able to afford encryption services for their customers. She laughed. Like I said...these people are untrustworthy vultures and could care less about their patients. Do yourself a favor and find a different clinic that cares more about making your dream of becoming a parent come true more then their own pigheadedness and greed. read more

This is my second time doing IVF, we just moved here and selected RMC. I was pleased at first with my experience but it is slowing going south. I was directed to use one insurance company and assuming they checked my insurance I went with them. Of course they were not covered. Fortunately I caught this in time...it would have wasted me $1200 or more! They called my husband the wrong name and when reviewing contracts the "bedside"manner was less than appealing. I understand you may be good at your job but reviewing contracts as am embroyologist is not one of them. I will report back after it's all over....but do your research. I wouldn't say it's awful, but things could be better. read more

Very unprofessional, highly disappointed from every standpoint. I had a consultation with this fertility center and to begin things, the front desk associate lost my new patient paperwork. Upon checking out, she let me know that she couldn't find the paperwork anywhere. She actually did end up locating it later I was told. The nurse practitioner I met with was very unprofessional and judgmental. I would like a facility who demonstrates a little compassion and overall professionalism. I was referred here by another doctor who is now retired. I figured I would try them out. With all the scheduling and phone calls I finally get in. Its regurgitated several times about (PAYMENT) and fees. I asked many questions and was told a consultation is between $260-$350. I inquired what does this entail? I got the run around and no details. The day of my appointment (9/11/18) I literally spent 30 minutes speaking to the nurse practitioner and 5 minutes with the doctor. I was completely discouraged and they went over my past results from two years ago from ANOTHER doctor. Then they wanted me to get an ultrasound and blood work without telling me that its another fee. (glad I asked before I did it because that was an additional $300 and due same day)I declined. I left feeling swindled out of money for NOTHING. NO PLAN, LEARNED NOTHING NEW and only given the option of IVF. Also just received a bill online today for an additional $79. Please do not go to this place, this isn't an angry post at all but this practice is about MONEY. Consultations should NEVER cost that much especially when they arent doing any lab work or ultrasounds. Please think twice!!! I am currently seeking a second opinion because this place didnt give me a warm feeling upon entry or any hope. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. Worst experience ever!!! With any doctors office. They have too many random people working for them who are super rude. They try to charge a $150 no show fee when I called within the cancellation policy and have proof of it by my cell phone bill. This place is a absolute scam!! Their prices (even with insurance) are so much higher than any other reproductive doctors office in KC. Stay away from them! I am in the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau over them bc my cousin had a very similar experience. Definitely a medical office running a scam. Beware!!! read more

I am really disappointed with this center. I was really excited about receiving ways to help with why I cant get pregnant and possibly fixing infertility. I have been now told that in order to take Femera I have to do the ultra sound and HCG shot. Where as my insurance wont cover the HCG shot or the ultra sound because its not diagnostic. So because I'm not willing to pay for that part, I'm not allowed to try just taking the medicine??? I think since infertility is already expensive, patients should be able to "choose" to just do the medicine. I am not impressed with the fact that as a patient a full panel of my hormones was not done. Just the thyroid. What about estrogen, or progesterone? I am just disappointed. Thank you for making this process that's already difficult even more difficult. The communication is not good with this group. And I think they are out for money. And this is with the North Kansas City office too! Definitely going to look for a different one! Stay clear of this center!! read more

I went to this clinic for six months. I barely had any testing even after several failed cycles. I briefly met the doctor but otherwise only interacted with the nurses. While I think the staff is friendly I had a few miscommunication issues that concerned me. I feel I was taken advantage of and wasted my money. I have since gone to a new clinic and the amount of testing they started me off with is completely different. Please don't waste precious time and money here. read more

We have be been told that we are going to be able to start right away, then had multiple miscommunication with the nurse and coordinator. Then was told we needed further testing. One thing always lead to another. No one call with our lab results. We did not get to meet with the doctor at our consultation. No other test was done besides the lab for me during our first visit. I am truly irritated how this place and company can get so much money for helping couples, that they can't afford a decent room for men. It's already an uncomfortable situation for men having to come in and give samples. But this business feels it's ok to have a man go into a room, with just a chair and a sink. REALLY??? Not all patients have the option of taking care of their samples at home and able to drive it in at a reasonable time frame to deliver the sample. So with that, this business should make it more inviting and comfortable for those men. Not just a room with a sink and a chair. Might as well put him in a bathroom. And this was their north Kansas City location. Plus they charge $100 for this sample, mind you. Even if it's already been approved to be paid by your insurance company. They are just too lazy to comfirm it. Even if you have a the document in your hand. This company is a money hungry place, and my husband and I will DEFINITELY not be using them again!!! read more

The billing system in his office is a joke. If you are receiving treatment and getting procedures done, his billing staff will make you pay in FULL, meaning that even though they billed your insurance already and it is pending, his Billing staff will STILL make you pay everything total up in FULL or else they'll threaten to cancel your procedure the day before. They even told me even though my acct. has a zero balance, if my health insurance decides to "take back the money" from a office visit payment from 2-3 years ago, that means I can still get a bill from them within 5 years. I totally would not recommend this office to anyone. read more

this is horrible place to go to. we have been going to the north kansas city location where you never ever get to see Dr. Galbech. we did 2 IUI procedure and there was no positive result. there was no follow up call to check or even no plan on what should be the next course of action. if i would call in and say i want to do the next round of IUI they would agree im not sure how many rounds i would do. i would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

We are very pleased with Dr. G and the PA's. Everyone was very kind, helpful, thoughtful and professional. We were very concerned about trying IVF as it seemed to be an ethical and moral mind field. The first clinic we tried would not work with us to limit the number of embryos -they wanted lots of embryos and would then "eliminate" the extra, we are not ok with that. MRC was willing to work with us and understood our concerns. We also understood that this would reduce our chances. However, we do now have a beautiful little girl and a few more frozen embryos for another chance. read more

I did 3 IUI's at RMC. I only saw a "doctor" one time and it just happened to be that he was in the office when I was there for a visit and the nurse practitioner asked him if he would see us. I think Dr G may be taking on too many patients and not giving the attention to everyone. It is nice to see a doctor every once in a while, even though the NPs are very knowledgeable and helpful. Secondly, almost every time I had an appointment at the Olathe clinic, the receptionists were not very welcoming. Being behind a closed window and not opening it or looking up and being half way friendly until the patient knocks seems very rude to me. Especially the for the kind of service and money that are being spent there. There were also 2-3 instances that I got to my appointment and had to wait almost an hour to get in. One time, I got there and the lobby was empty and then almost 10 people came and I was the last one to be seen. Maybe it was because I was having an IUI, but they could at least let me know instead of keeping me waiting for so long. I ended up going to Mexico for IVF and had a superior experience compared to that at RMC. Everyone was very caring, welcoming, I saw a doctor every time, hours were longer and they were open on Saturdays and they did my IVF as my cycle dictated. There was not an "IVF week", like at RMC. If I had the time, I would not hesitate to go back to Mexico but due to convenience, I will probably go back to RMC unless prices are comparable in Des Moines or Omaha. read more
