Been here on several occasions, lunch and dinner. I've seen this place, its decor and menu evolve in the past 2 years. Funny how they looked so out of place on Flatbush with its hipster decor and bouncer, nowadays it just fits right in with all going on. It was first mainly a whisky/bourbon bar with few appetizers. Now they've expanded to brunch. Plenty of appealing things on their menu. I really like their Cajun club (well seasoned and crispy on the outside), their signature cheddar burger and blackened shrimp salad. Some other stuff has been hit or miss. Their dinner menu is not much different than lunch. One thing to mention,their main attraction I think is their extensive drink menu with tremendous selection of beer, ciders, wine, whiskeys and bourbon. Decent prices. I've had cider for around $5. read more

Let me start by saying this place shocked me. I always walked or rode pass this place and yesterday I decided to try it out. I order with the Bartender even though I was sitting outside. I ordered a margarita catfish tacos and a burger. The tacos Was sooooooooooo good. Nice and crispy. My friend said the burger was awesome. The reason I gave this place 4 star is because I wish they had more servers to improve on the service. The host was also the server for outside. But overall the food was great and the drinks was bomb. Looking forward to returning soon. read more

A nice cozy place I stumbled upon this place while exploring my job's neighborhood and I was pleasantly surprised. Although the menu is a little small, there is a nice selection of yummy bites. I went for the braised pork should and shared an order of the bacon-wrapped dates. Everything was pretty delicious, especially the piping-hot dates. The sandwich was a little too "saucy" for me, which led to very soggy buns - a minor inconvenience. Be aware that the menu changes, which is a good thing in my book. I went into the place because of the menu outside but it was different when I sat at a table. The restaurant's claim to fame is extensive beer and bourbon selection. Also, the selection is top-notch, not just a selection of various derivatives of Budweiser and Coors (not that there is anything wrong with those beers). The ambiance of the place is very relaxed and chill, which is perfect for an after-work drink or five. All in all, I had a very pleasant experience at Midwood Flats. I would suggest that the management leave the drink menus on the table. I typically have 2-5 beers with a meal and it is a little tough to get the waiter's attention for the beer menu, decide on a beverage, and then get his/her attention again to order the beverage. Just a minor suggestion. read more

I was coming out of the park after a couple laps around and really craving a burger. I had never noticed this place or gone in, but wow the Midwood burger was great--with fresh chips! Lightly dip the chips in the salsas and you have delicious flavored chips. I didn't get a beer as I was picking up, but the straight menu looked great, much better than what I see at most places here. Can't wait to go back. read more

A cute little restaurant/bar to visit in Brooklyn! Despite the outside looking small, they have been able to have a good amount of seating. We were able to get a table for 5 right away when we came for lunch. I ordered the Cajuin Club and it was delicious! The catfish was seasoned nicely and went amazingly with the homemade sauce. I wish I had more of the sauce because that was incredible! The bacon was slightly overdone and the ends were black, but still was good on the sandwich. Mixed greens come as the side, which is a great refreshing change from the heavier meal. Balsamic is mixed onto the leaves as a dressing, which went nicely with the meal as a whole. Entrees provide you with plenty of food so you are full when you leave. Prices are reasonable too for the quality of the food. Our waitress was excellent. She was cheery and very attentive, getting us anything we could have needed. read more

We attended an event at Midwood Flats last week. The food was good, the music was a little loud. The service was a little slow, but we had a blast. There were a lot of regulars and they seemed to get most of the attention. Overall, it was a good experience, the food was tasty, the drinks were refreshing, the entertainment was good as well. If I were able to to give 1/2 stars I would put this at 3.5 but since that wasn't an option I will award them 4. read more

Love the huge selection of things on tap. And they always have a hard kombucha on tap which is not always easy to find. Food is pretty yummy bar food but can be slightly inconsistent. The inside is laid out in maybe not the most efficient way for when the place is really acting like a bar as opposed to a restaurant so when it gets crowded it's a little inconvenient inside. But they do have extra outdoor covered seating as well!! read more

Great bar/restaurant conveniently located near the Prospect Park (Q line) train station. We arrived at about 6:30p, and it wasn't crowded at all, but by 7/7:15p it started to fill up. The bar has plenty of offerings to fit whatever mood you're in; a page of draughts on tap, cocktails, and a small variety of wine. Food? Appetizers, burgers, and a couple salads. The pulled pork sandwich exceeded my expectations! Definitely a "if doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face" type of sandwich. Sooooo good! We also ordered the buffalo wings which came out piping hot in a personal sized cast-iron skillet sprinkled with green onion- I was in heaven. Service was good and the atmosphere was inviting. The weekdays are my highlight at this establishment. Between the concerted efforts of Hector and Alex, my afternoons are complete. Cute spot! Ended up here for Sunday brunch since Risbo was closed for a pop-up shop. Happy we did because it was just right. My quinoa black bean burger was a little bland but the generous serving of arugula and spring mix with vinaigrette paired with it was surprisingly flavorful. Mimosas are $5 each and were just right. It's truly such a shame because the food is so so good. I've been coming here for years and every time I'm here the service is just so terrible. It always seems understaffed, so I'm always hesitant to be judgmental. However then when it empties out the service is still TERRIBLE. there's three tables and my water sits empty while I'm trying to eat a burger. It makes it impossible to eat. Never get asked if I want another drink or if the food is ok. I have to get up and walk across the restaurant twice over the course or our meal to get a refill of water. And the restaurant is empty. It's just so crazy to me. It's always like this. for years. Train your staff! read more

I love it here, all the servers make me feel right at home! Karaoke night is so much fun because people actually sing and some are amazing, but the ones that suck make it worth going. I've been to this place numerous times since I live in the neighborhood, but I had a pretty bad experience when I visited here on a Sunday night with my friends. We didn't know that the Karaoke thing was happening when we got there, and since it got pretty loud when the show started, we decided to leave because we finished our drinks. The person who was the Karaoke host gave us two middle fingers as we were leaving (my friend saw it), apparently because we decided to leave in the middle of their show (we were sitting in the back booth). There was no interaction between the host and us prior to that, so there was no reason for them to be aggressive toward us. Maybe it was easy for them to do that because we're Asian females. Very unpleasant experience. Not going back there anymore. read more

Man, I had a good ass time here last night. Ordered... Midwood Burger: Cooked medium and super flavorful. The beef was perfect. The side salad was a hefty portion with a really delicious light dressing. Pretzilla: Tasted fresh and soft. Wasn't really feeling the dips. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll really enjoy the chocolate peanut butter dip...not overly sweet and nice consistency. The house ranch tasted more like a mayo dip. The mustard would've been great if it was spicy...lacked in flavor. I think a cheese dip would take it up a notch! Beer: They have a decent size collection. I had the Narragansett Beer...fairly light crisp beer $7 Everybody that worked there was real chill and so were the other patrons. Everything is fairly priced. The place is dimly lit. Though quaint and aesthetically pleasing, this place did not exactly meet expectations. My friend and I visited for lunch and found the wait staff to be friendly but our meals took about 35 minutes, and the place was empty when we sat. She ordered a burger and I got an avocado toast with a beer. The beer was good and they had a good enough selection, but the avocado toast was short of fantastic. On regular toast, there is a leaf of lettuce and a pile of avocado, all topped with radish shavings. The taste was not bad it was just average which I guess works with the $6 price tag associated. Overall, its okay but it is not a place I would recommend to a friend or would go to again. The service may have been slow but they seem to be understaffed and the host was also the waiter, bartender and maybe even chef? ( I kid!). But kudos to our waiter. Great place to grab a bite to eat! The food is delicious. I got the chicken sandwich and it comes with a side salad. It was good, but the chicken was definitely a bit on the dry side. They also have a lot of beers on tap, I personally got the cider and it was really good! Only downside is they only had one person working both the host stand and as a waiter so service was definitely very slow. But overall a great delicious place and I'll be back! read more

I love this spot. I have always loved this spot. The staff are excellent, as are the vast majority of patrons who frequent this place. That said, I will not return as long as the bartender Alexis remains there. She's rude, obtuse, unprofessional and full of herself. She's also a thief, as she added drinks AND A TIP to my bill, which had to be voided by another staff member. Friends and I had a VERY difficult experience with her on 2/19/22, and I was most hopeful that the establishment would have dealt with her appropriately. Having frequented this spot well over 100 times over the years WITHOUT INCIDENT, my friends and I were most heartbroken over our dust-up with said bartender. read more

As someone who has come to this bar regularly to watch Knicks playoff games, I can confidently say…read moreI will never return after what happened during the NBA Finals last night. What this bar pulled was completely unacceptable. They were openly reserving seats at the bar for certain people while telling everyone else they were unavailable. There was no advertised reservation policy, no advance notice, and no opportunity offered to regular customers. Apparently, the only way to get a seat is to know the owner, know the bartenders, or be part of the inner circle. What made it even worse was that my group had been sitting at the bar, ordering food and drinks starting around 7:30 PM, only to be forced out of our seats at 7:45 PM. The reservation signs on those seats clearly stated they were reserved for 8:15 PM. We were paying customers actively spending money, yet we were removed 30 minutes before the supposed reservation time. That is absolutely egregious behavior. I've worked in sports bars and have owned sports bars in New York City. In all my years in the business, I have never heard of reserving seats directly at the bar--especially during a major sporting event. It goes against everything that makes a sports bar successful. Bar seats have always been first-come, first-served. That's Sports Bar 101. I've spent plenty of money here over the years because it was always a great place to watch big games: good atmosphere, sound on the TVs, and a fun crowd. Unfortunately, last night proved that customer loyalty means absolutely nothing. Regular patrons were treated like second-class citizens while preferred customers received special treatment. For a bar that markets itself as a neighborhood sports destination, this was incredibly disappointing, unprofessional, and frankly insulting. If you're planning to watch a major game here, don't assume you'll be treated fairly. Unless you're friends with the right people, don't expect the same experience as everyone else. There are plenty of other sports bars in Brooklyn that understand how to treat customers. After last night, I'll be spending my money there instead. I won't be back, and I certainly won't be recommending this place to anyone. Let's Go Knicks

Service has always been friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. I can already see myself back there for the next time I'm craving some delicious craft beer!

Another selling point for the pub is the staff. The gentleman that made my drinks was personable and pleasant, while still respecting my space. No matter the time of day, the place is pretty dimly lit. There's adequate seating at the bar and around it, and outside space in the back.
