This used to be the hospital everyone avoided for my entire life in NY but since they've gotten…read morethose grants years ago and began hiring better staff and making improvements on the hospital, I guess it's gotten better. My mother was just recently admitted here after suffering a stroke and a couple of the nurses in the step down unit were absolutely phenomenal. Two worth mentioning are Dinara (not sure about last name) and Artem Shmulyarenko. The two of them went above and beyond to take care of my mom and make sure she was being treated well and I was being updated about what's going on because I live in a completely different state. A few cons about this hospital though are : 1. The vascular surgeon needs to be replaced. For over a week he kept doing ultrasound scans on my mom and then refused to intervene and they were about to send her home until a neurosurgeon got involved and said absolutely NOT do NOT let this patient leave without help because she's going to have another stroke. So because the vascular surgeon didn't want to do anything, the neurosurgeon did and he ended up saving my mom's life. 2. It took FIVE days for me to get a call back from a doctor while my mom was in step down unit. FIVE days is unacceptable especially when the patient has limited English, none of the English doctors are coming to tell her things with an interpreter and she had no idea what was going on and I couldn't get any answers because the nurses couldn't tell me details that only the doctor could tell me and the doctor wasn't calling. After I finally flew out to NY to be in the hospital in person, I noticed that the doctor definitely had more than ample amounts of time to call me and let me know what was happening because the patient (my mom) was confused and had no idea because she COULDNT UNDERSTAND, especially after a stroke. 3. The social worker Lilia or Lily or whatever her name is was VERY pushy the entire time. To my mom. To me. To everyone. Wouldn't let us get a single word in. Was very rude on the phone and at one point in a very rude tone told me "I wasnt done speaking" at which point I told her I'm at the hospital and she's more than welcome to come speak to me in person. I asked her for her number at one point and she said "no". What kind of a social worker refuses to let you have a way to contact them?? 4. Front desk staff is SO rude. Can't explain anything. Yells on the phone. Hangs up on you. Just rude overall. I wish I got the name of the one guy who hung up on me 4 times because I would've loved to see what he would do in person. Overall, I'm glad my mom is out of there. I'm VERY grateful for Dinara and Artem and the neurosurgeon who wanted to help my mom and did.

The Food poisoning ended up as I am going to be a grandma, the news made me so excited that I ended up in the ER as well as my daughter in law. Unfortunately the quality service in this hospital is awful worse than I ever imagined from the started to end all the staff are terrible and unprofessional. The place is dirty the service to patients are horrible. Please don't go there the FDA need to review this place ASAP

At mile 12 I had to jump over and avoid clobbering a small kid on a scooter who lost control and came right at me. My head hit the edge of the sidewalk and curb which resulted in a gash above my eye and numerous abrasions. As stubborn as I am I wiped the blood off my face, took a few minutes to make sure I was ok, then completed the run. Took a different route to end right by this CityMD in Brighton Beach. The care I received here was terrific, from the front desk, to the nurse who assisted, and the doctor who stitched me up. Ended up with six stiches which has healed up nicely. Clean facility, they got me in quickly, and accepted my health plan provider with just a small co-pay. Very professional and courteous staff during my visit.

I'm going to copy and paste from a review I left elsewhere:…read more I found out I had been exposed to COVID-19 yesterday as my work shift was scheduled to start, so I dropped everything and got on line at this CityMD location. The staff here did their best to accommodate everyone--the sidewalk is narrow due to MTA construction and it was VERY cold. The staff distributed hand warmers to people outside and managed the line (there were a lot of old women trying to cut the line). The staff was patient, and I am grateful, as my brain ceased to function after several hours in the wind. Inside, the PA was kind and helpful. The doctor apologized and was also very kind--it's not his fault there's an Omicron spike. I had a rapid test and a PCR, and the doctor swabbed very gently. I was grateful and I'm impressed. It makes me feel better about my own efforts to test at home with the Binax kit, and it puts the other CItyMDs (where they just jam it up your nose with no disregard) to shame. I had my results in less than an hour. I found that there was a lot of signage about wait times in the office, and the entire staff was VERY communicative. It has to be HARD to work at CityMD right now, and I am grateful for their care.
