Premium Dishwasher Failed in Under 3 Years I purchased a new Miele G5266SCVI panel-ready dishwasher in September 2023 because of Miele's reputation for quality and durability. In May 2026, after less than three years of use, it failed with an F70 error. While I was disappointed that a premium dishwasher experienced a major failure after such a short period of time, I was even more disappointed by Miele's response. A service technician came to my home and immediately told me the repair would likely cost around $1,000 without even inspecting the machine. He explained that if he performed a diagnostic inspection, I would still be charged for the visit and that cost would be incurred regardless of whether I ultimately repaired or replaced the dishwasher. I then spent weeks contacting Miele customer service seeking assistance. Multiple representatives told me that my case would be reviewed and that someone would follow up with a resolution. No one ever did. I received repeated assurances that the matter was being escalated, but no meaningful response or resolution was ever provided. I understand that appliances can fail. What separates premium brands from everyone else is how they respond when problems occur. A dishwasher that costs this much should last longer than 32 months, and a company that charges premium prices should stand behind its products when they don't. I absolutely love my Miele appliances. They are outstanding. They are more expensive but for the performance, quality and styling they are worth it. What I abhor about Miele is their service. Complete dogshit when you consider they are a high-end brand. It usually takes multiple calls to get anything done correctly. We had a Miele built in refrigerator installed in our new kitchen in May of 2011. In May of 2017 it stopped working. We had to use a spare unit from our appliance dealer in our garage the whole summer of 2017 while Miele tried to fix our unit. They finally gave up and gave us a new refrigerator. Fast forward to January 2025 and now the replacement unit is not functioning and Miele's authorized repair service has no idea what is causing the problem. Decided that a perfectly working white Bosch dishwasher was just out dated. Silly me thought let's try Miele's dishwasher. As per the website "good reasons for choosing Miele" are the following: Quality, technology, convenience, support and design. Well within a year of owning the product I received numerous error codes that ended up coming back. I try myself to resolve the issues by following the instructions online. It ends up fixing it for a short period and then coming back again with error codes. Dishes were dirty when washed on the normal/regular mode. Was told by a representative that I should wash on pots and pans. Now it sometimes works. Not sure why even have normal mode then. Well the error codes continue so I contact Miele and setup a visit. Somehow a dishwasher that is a year old needs parts replaced. They attempt to charge me 500 for the product plus 200 for the visit. The service tech is able to get me a discount. Amazing that I even have to pay for a single thing for a brand new unit. Parts eventually are replaced and the error codes after the fact continue. After 4 maybe even 5 visits now from service tech and various "reasons" that were somehow my fault (dishwasher branch under sink supposedly wrong size yet worked for Bosch) needs to be larger. The service tech didn't know the name of the item that I needed to change but once I located it on Amazon he used the exact name in his notes. I end up replacing the part and a week later another error code. Miele sends a tech again and they locate that there was in fact an error code but still no assistance. Now customer care here seems to be a joke. So far I have had techs come to my house. I have paid 400 in visits for no reason and no repair. The last visit was finally covered by Miele. This company is a scam and does not care about their consumers one bit. They claim to be high end but I even needed metal trim to be fixed because it would pop out from normal use. So far I have no been impressed what so ever with any part of this company. For a high end brand you would expect some appreciation and respect for their consumers yet I have only experienced the opposite so far. It all makes sense why Consumer Reports does not rate them well. While on my calls with Miele I have been hung up on when told to hold. I have not been called back numerous times. Too bad their reliability is for sh__t. Considering my late, not so great canister vacuum tripped the sticker shock alarm at slightly less than a loaded Corolla, it had the combined suction of an Emphysema choir, meaning none. It's not anything that can be repaired (especially after I tossed it off the roof) ...it's just how the damn thing was designed. My MIELE washer--still under extended warrantee--has not worked properly since Jan., 2022. For all the hype that MIELE products are flawless, they are not. As for "customer service," it is non-existent. I finally filed a complaint with the BBB of New Jersey, and MIELE did not even both to respond to them. Regional Management hides from 20-year Miele client! We've been long-standing high-end Miele clients. 2 sets of W/D's, 5 vacuums, 2 dishwashers, a Professional Ironing System, and most recently a 3rd dishwasher for our new home build. In 2018 we purchased the G6875 SCViSF dishwasher (the current version of this model is the G7566 SCViSF). $2500 price in 2018. In 2020 it began stopping mid-cycle with a "Intake valve" error message. Of course, it was out of warranty, but I loved my first Miele and wanted to have this fixed. A "certified trained technician" conducted the assessment and determined it would require several parts to fix. 30 days & $1278 later, it was "allegedly" fixed. Sadly this didn't last long. The infamous "Intake Valve" error message would randomly return. We recently sold the home and the new owners reached out regarding the "Intake Valve" error message and who we recommend. I reached out to the Chicago Exp Center (as directed by the Center Mgr from a prior discussion about our experience) since our vendors are within their territory. After 2 days on a merry-go-round and sent to the "888" customer service vortex, I was informed no one from the management would be following up with me, nor would there be any resolution from Miele, due to "insufficient" documentation of the events post the $1278 repair. We purchase "high-end" for quality and service, and not many folks out there want to spend $2500 on a dishwasher, they prefer to spend $600 and replace it every 4-5 years. The "888" vortex is even worse; it's nothing more than a cue card interrogation and the second you provide an incorrect answer (according to their cue card), the call is ended as there's nothing that can be done. This is a disgrace for a company that "prides itself on quality and service". If management can't face a 20-year client, who has spent tens of thousands of dollars on the Miele product line, they have no business being in management. Our experience with Miele is a mixed bag. We have an entire kitchen of their appliances (2 dishwashers, standalone fridge, standalone freezer, 48" range, 30" wall oven, 30" warming drawer and also a steam oven. Products: The products work well, the ovens have an even temperature (easy to check if you put slices of bread spread out over the baking trays on each layer so you can test how uniform the temperatures are). Dishwashers are quiet and the knock-to-open function is entertaining (and confuses guests) We don't use the steam oven as much as we'd anticipated (couple of times in 3 years) because it's tough to find recipes and a bit of a pain to clean. Fridges and freezer are great. The lights along the sides work really well and provide great visbility. Customer Service. Here it gets mixed. I find that the customer service technicians who come out have been great. The latest technician, Anthony Cota (we're up in Boston area) is knowledgable, responsive and has been a pleasure to have working on these appliances; he's GREAT. We've found the call center in NJ to be....pretty poor. The agents are all curteous but it seems that no one has thre authority to make even simple choices. We're invariably faced with "different department I need to check" or ...supervisor, I need to check.... That approach is perfectly understandable for significant issues that may be in a 'gray area' but we've even experienced it with simple parts failures that are easily user replaced and cost a few dollars. (rubber feet on grates, the early versions fell out regularly (now redesigned) We have a 5 year contract and so should be covered....but it was tough to get anyone to send them out! They wanted the technician to visit first and then HE could order - Insane waste of time and fuel. So, would we buy Miele again - YES, (we had subzero and viking appliances before and we could write a novel around the issues dealing with those repeated failures( So buy Miele if you want good appliances but be ready to have some bewildering moments when working with customer service. read more

I purchased a $12,000 refrigerator 5 years ago. I purchase the 5 year extended warranty. The fridge was making noises and not cooling occasionally. Miele service came to fix it. After at least six visits over months they left the fridge complete not working. In the meantime the warranty expired. Customer service would listen, then do nothing. I called and set appointments, they stopped coming out. Most recently they have taken the approach that the warranty is expired. Real simple. The problem, started when the warranty had 8 months to go. They took months trying to fix it, and instead they completely broke it. Then they abandoned me by saying the warranty is expired. Our sales experience was 5 star. This is about the product. We replaced our aging Kenmore canister vac with a Miele, at a cost of about $700.00. We expected that it would perform at a much higher level than the Kenmore. In a nutshell: Pro: Well made, with strong suction. Cons: Does not follow well. Falls over easily. i chose the lowest rating possible. if it would allow negative stars, i of course would use them. i am 66 years old, miele is the worst company i have ever come across by miles! i have dealt with many terrible companies, but nothing like miele. my brand new top of the line, incredibly expensive oven doesnt work, it has now been 9 weeks. the service people have no idea what they are doing. i've been hung up on many times, disconnected probably a dozen. they are not allowed to give you their supervisors name, they are not allowed to give the boss's name. each disconnect means starting all over again, whats your name, your address, your phone number, your account number, please tell me what your issue is.... typically about there is another disconnect......... i have been promised that i would get a call back from the supervisor, whose name i am not allowed to know, 3 times. and that should that person for any reason not get through, that they would email and text me with their name and direct phone number and direct email at miele. not one time have a received a call. they supposedly have a quality assurance department, i have emailed many times and left at least 4 vmails, no response at all. i have left 4 vmails and an email for the office of the president. nothing, no reply. i have left messages for the president of the company, jan heck, no reply. i spent no less than 10 hours on the phones just last week, i was told two days ago, i have an appointment july 28, and that all the possible parts they could possible need will be brougt to my home by a senior technician. however i just got an email saying that now i do not have an appointment, and no parts have been ordered , and i should call their 888 number for the service centers...... i am embarrassed to have them in my home. i am now preparing an email that i will send to my whole contact list , and all of the several hundred people i do business with across the country via the different companies i am involved with. now that i am posting this, i am seeing some other yelp reviews, oh how i wish i had read them earlier. steve greinetz read more

On a new issue I called yesterday, one agent transferred me back to main menu, three other calls were disconnected (one after talking to the agent and then put on hold for 30 minutes). I have all Miele appliances in my kitchen - refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 2 wall ovens, cooktop, warming drawer and convection/microwave oven. When they work, all is good. But god forbid you need service. No one answers the phone. Each number I have called gets put through to the same never-ending loop. When I finally got a live person, because I deliberately connected to the wrong number prompt, they connected me to an international call center. I need to replace two broken parts for my rotary iron. They told me that there aren't any service techs in my area and that I would get a phone call in 3 DAYS!!! Who does business like this? If I could select negative stars I would. I own a $9000 Miele refrigerator which I can't get installed. I moved to Connecticut in August, I brought the refrigerator, still on the pallet and never been plugged in. It was put in my kitchen.When I opened it for the first time the approximately 500 pound refrigerator fell over and nearly crushed me. I immediately realized that I needed to have the refrigerator professionally installed. I called Miele for local installers. They gave me names but none of the businesses would install a refrigerator not purchased through them.To make a long story short I have called over 20 businesses that Miele and others have recommended,I have posted on Angies list, I have called my friend's brother who works at home depot...no one can help me. Ive spent over 10 hours trying to find someone authorized by Miele to install my refrigerator. Ive called Miele 7 or 8 times. Ive been hung up on, treated like a child, asked a million questions every time I called, even though my case was supposed to have been elevated to a supervisor. I finally got a supervisor on the line and then Miele's phone system went out. Twice I was told someone would call me back but never heard from them. The last time I called, after being disconnected, I begged to be connected to a supervisor, telling the Miele rep that if someone was injured or killed by the refrigerator, which my handy man has secured to the best of his ability, its their responsibility. I was kept on the line, asked 20 minutes worth of the same questions Id answered at least 5 times before and then told that someone would get in touch with me, but they would not put me through to a supervisor. 3 days later I got a generic email giving me a list of basic repair companies they'd already given me and who wouldnt do an install. In the meantime the refrigerator fell over again, thankfully the door swung open and propped up the refrigerator so I wasn't killed. Each time I talk to Miele I tell them very specifically that this is a matter of life and death. I am willing to pay for the installation. Thats never been an issue. Right now we are very disappointed in the customer service and billing of the Princeton, New Jersey Miele repair department.We have been very patient and spent an inordinate amount of time corresponding with them concerning a repair that had to be completed with the funds from an insurance company. It took a couple of months to follow their procedure to handle a situation such as this. The repair is finally complete and payed for. We now have use of our brand new Miele range which was installed in July 2015. It is just one more of many excellent Miele products. After all we have been through we received a new bill for almost as much as they demanded upfront in order to actually repair our range. Once again we had to spend a lot of time to clarify that we (or rather, the insurance company) doesn't owe them anything. They adjusted the bill, but still insist over $500 dollars are owed. It makes no sense considering their policy of paying all costs for parts and labor prior to the actual repair. No extra parts were ordered after they were paid in full and all labor was calculated prior to scheduling the technician to repair the range. It is our hope that they will admit they are wrongly charging us. We look forward to an invoice and email that states we owe them nothing. We will post an update as this is resolved. We are extremely disappointed. They rescinded the bill. I did not have to pay the extra $500 plus. It took determination on my part but I am now satisfied. read more

I bought a MIELE gas stovetop in March 2021 ($2200) MODEL KM2355G. It showed out that the burners were all defected -constantly clicking when the flame is on. MIELE send out a repair guy to my house 5-7 times over the next 7 month. He was not able to fix the stovetop but instead he made it even worse. The 5 knobs is now 1/2 inch higher up then the original design. I have reached out to MIELE properly 12 times over the period of 8 month and spoke with different costumer service employees each time. After the non successful repairs I had to start all over with my "story" and each time they take a bunch of notes and they promise me that the solution center will contact me within 72 business hours. They have NEVER EVER called me back at any time. I even asked to speak with a manager or get the phone-number to the solution center but with no luck whatsoever. My husband left a short review on Twitter and right after, an employee, Steven Martinez contacted us. That is after 8 month of frustration and unhealthy heartbeats and a broken stovetop. The gas stovetop is located in our vacation home 2 hours drive from our permanent house and we rent it out short term. Each time we rent our house out to new guests I had to share a homemade video to show how to avoid the clicking sound by lifting the knobs few mm for the sounds to go away. Finally Steven Martinez and I came to a resolution to make an exchange to another gas stovetop but not the same model. I drove 2 hours to be at the house the day they promised to bring the new one. They didn't show op so I have to cancel meetings the next day since I needed to stay one more day hoping for the arrival. I made an arrangement with the local electrician but had to cancel since the new stove top was delayed. The day after, I finally after 8 months of frustration, received the new stovetop with their local delivery company. To my surprise the box was completely "open" with no tape around. At that point I began to worry. The delivery employee told me that he could take it back before I took a look inside the box or I could keep it and cross my fingers for good luck. I chose to keep it and when I opened it, it was scratched everywhere on the surface. I couldn't believe it. Now I had 2 defected stovetops in my vacation home. I again called MIELE's costumer service, send them images of the damaged surface and spend an hour on the phone and finally she told me that the solution center would contact me within 72 business hours. I NEVER GOT ANY PHONE CALL BACK. I have tried to contact STEVEN MARTINEZ 4 times, 2 mails and 2 messages left on his phone and told hime to please, please call me back so we could find a solution now that I have 2 broken gas stovetops in my house. This is "just" over a period of approximately 3 weeks. I haven't got any phone call back from him. Now I am at a point where I don't know what to do. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 21 years living in USA, California. I will never buy anything from MIELE again. Within the last 6 month I god a new refrigerator, new dishwasher and a new electric stove-oven in my permeant house. Because of the poor customer service I had to find another appliance company for all my products. the best thing they could do at this point is to give me my money back. read more

I would have posted negative stars if possible. We spent $33,000 to completely refurbish our kitchen with Miele appliances because of their purported fine quality and superior customer service. When our new refrigerator malfunctioned, Miele finally agreed that it should be replaced. They sent contractors to remove the old fridge, but unfortunately they arrived with neither sufficient personnel nor adequate equipment. After their vain attempts, we sent them on their way, but by that time they had damaged our recently installed hardwood floors. Then ensured a lengthy dialogue with a Christopher Delmain, who claims to be a customer service representative. He refused to provide me with any other POC in the company and during our last exchange, he said and I quote, " I have nothing to do with the issue. I am a customer service agent." Clearly that is not his forte'. If you are planning to buy a Miele appliance, I would urge extreme caution based on my personal experience. Purchased a Miele dishwasher in April 2016. Was told it was high quality, would last twice as long as any other dishwasher with fewer repairs. All of this was untrue. In less than 5 years, I spent close to $400.00 in repairs and it now needs a new pump at a cost of $500.00 plus labor. Do Not recommend this dishwasher brand to anyone unless they want to waste a lot of money. What this Miele dishwasher really was: too expensive to begin with, too expensive with repairs, and lasted less then half the time of any other dishwasher I have ever owned. The worst customer service I have ever encountered. I'm a designer/builder in CA and specify products for residential construction and remodels. Specified the Miele built-in coffee center on a project. Appliance came out of the packaging with no power cord. This was in 2020. I went through customer service to obtain a replacement. The male rep insisted I have to pay for it and upsold a connector that was not needed. Long story short power cord received but was not charged. A year later Miele sent an invoice for the power cord. After several messages back and forth with never the same person I was finally told the invoice would be reversed and apologies for the inconvenience. Now fast forward to today and I'm receiving the same invoice for the same power cord. And once again no one at Miele will take ownership of the fact this was resolved a year ago and continue to hassle me over a $160 power cord. Pathetic customer service with no one there having the wherewithal to either review the history on the account or extremely incompetent employees at the company. I purchased a complete Miele kitchen package, including a Miele sped oven and built in coffee maker. When I purchased my set, I was told the doors of my fridge would not be in for 3-4 months. I was okay with that since my house was under construction. 5 months go by and I'm ready to move it. Everything with my house is perfect, except the doors for my fridge. They weren't available and I was told to wait another three months. I tired contacting the Miele rep but never heard from anyone. The expected date passes (9/18/17) and no one calls or contacts me. Its now 10/14 and my wife and I decide to contact Miele. We get an excuse that the quality of the doors are not up to standards and it will take another 3-4 months before the doors are in. Seriously? How would you feel spending $6,000 on an appliance and have it sitting incomplete in your kitchen? This has been my experience. Ignored by Miele and nothing to do about it. Save your money and shop elsewhere. Or maybe get their vacuums...I hear people like them. Wouldn't you like to own a $6,000 refrigerator? Really really disappointing. We bought our home almost 3 years ago and have installed 4 Miele appliances. A double oven, a dishwasher, a cloths washer, and a drier. Not a single one worked properly. I'll spare you the details. Customer service is a comedic tragedy. The automated message says, "Due to an unusually high call volume you may experience long wait times." The message starts this way even on holidays when they're closed. I think it's the default. The automated voice then reminds you that you can request service online. Excellent. There is no real e-mail address anywhere on the website, instead you fill out an online form and click submit. Except every time you click submit you get a page not found error. No stars should be an option because that's how many high-end appliances they should sell with their low-end customer service. Last time I buy a Miele (and I have two). Family purchased one (nearly $2,000) and over the past five years, the same part has failed at least four times (I've lost count since it isn't working again as I write this). Miele promised in 2013 to replace the entire unit if it failed again. It failed again. So what did Miele say? 1) It failed because the dishwasher was connected to hot water and shouldn't have been (two different people have said this including their Quality Assurance Coordinator). Perhaps they should read their own manual. 2) It failed because you have solar and the water temperature can be too high with solar (Quality Assurance Coordinator again). Yeah, except the solar is only for electricity, not hot water. 3) We don't have a record of that phone call and our recorded calls only went to the call right after that. Oh, and you don't have "hard evidence" of this promise. Ummm, you record the calls. I'm supposed to do what exactly? Apparently Miele thinks I should have some sort of document the repairman left with a hard copy of what a customer service person told me on the phone?????? 4) Finally.....OK, our bad. We'll replace the unit with a discontinued item that someone else sent back because there was shipping damage. Oh and the cost to ship to you is $450, which is about double what it costs to ship a giant Subzero refrigerator. And this isn't the customer service from some general customer service number. It stinks to give Miele a one star because there product is great. Where they lack is customer service. They seem to hide behind the retailers that sell there product, when a customer is unhappy. They never followed up to see if I was satisfied and got very snide when I disagreed with them. You would think that a company with the reputation they have, would have the customer first. They have become a money hungry corporation like the rest of this world. Sad really. read more

Wow, it is universal that this company perpetuates a culture of deceptive business practices. Their service philosophy is to upcharge for as many unnecessary repairs as possible, while hitting you with trip charges, labor, incidentals, etc. I wound-up paying $266 just to have a clogged drain-line cleared. This is an update to my earlier, very negative, review. I did followup per the instructions from the Miele rep in response to my original review. A customer service rep got back in touch with me and after I sent him the tracking information for my returned package they refunded the cost of the product, and I guess as an added courtesy, the shipping cost as well. It turns out that the first customer rep that I had spoken to on the phone gave me incorrect information--a return authorization is not required nor do they mail out labels for return shipping. I also did end up buying a Miele Washer and Dryer. Originally, at the time I was having trouble with the detergent order (which resulted in the negative review), they were offering a free upgraded 5 year warranty. By the time I was done resolving the issue with the detergent, they were no longer offering that extended warranty. Even though they were no longer offering it, the rep agreed to get it for me out of goodwill. [After the issue with the returned detergent, he asked "is there anything else I can help you with?", and so I asked about whether he'd be able to offer the extended warranty and he agreed.] So, all said and done, I am now a happy Miele customer. I still have to take one star off because of all the anguish I had to go through! But at least I am happy that they resolved everything to my satisfaction. read more

***** 5 STAR SERVICE!!! I was so impressed with the level of service, expertise and helpfulness of the Miele Call Center gentleman I dealt with - Larry O. Not only was Larry O very knowledgable and enthusiastic but he took great care to explain the options in detail and keep in touch with me. We decided to ship our Miele over to be repaired and the vacuum was returned within a week, full of new parts - all free of charge!!! I would highly recommend you deal with Larry O - he is such a wonderful person to work with and I hope Miele know how lucky they are to have him. :) read more

*warning* I'm going on a rant. I own Miele appliances. The oven wasn't working right and the dish washer wasn't getting the dishes clean. I called Miele several times and was never able to speak to a person but left several messages and a recording said I would hear back in two hours. Of course weeks went by and no return calls. I finally went on their website and filled in a form for service. I was contacted by Mr Appliance and told there was a $135 fee to come out and run diagnostics. Well, he turned on the oven and of course it worked fine then! But I was still charged. $135 to turn on the oven and tell me it's working. He then checked my dish washer and saw the setting for the water wasn't hot enough. He changed that and cleaned the filter. Want to guess how much he charged?! Over $200! When I got the bill for over $350 I was certain that they made a mistake and called them just now. No mistake. Over $350 to tell me my oven was fine and to clean the filter!! Outrageous!!! read more

We own a built in Miele Coffee Market which I purchased originally 13 years ago when I re-modeled my kitchen. Loved it back then. It subsequently broke after just 6 years should an appliance that costs $3500 last longer? I think so. They said they couldn't repair it when they came to service and I had to replace it in 2012. Another $3500. And then sadly it broke down in 2016, repairs costs me another $700 from an authorized serviceman. Just yesterday the machine broke down again. We called the service department in Princeton and very kind and patient man named Gary helped walk thru how the parts could refit in the machine. We can't seem to get them to click in and we are told there's a very substantial part that's not functioning correctly. We tried it all. Service will cost just for a visit and we don't know if I will need to sink more money into this sad piece of household appliance. For a well known household name Miele, I am so frustrated by the money I have spent on this piece of garbage and my husband is so annoyed he let me buy this. I don't recommend this coffee maker to anyone. read more
