My last visit to Mrs. G's on Route 1, Lawrenceville, NJ before the one yesterday, was more than two decades ago when we modernized our kitchen. The place is in its third generation of family ownership, and has been seriously spruced up in the intervening years. Our 40 year old side by side refrigerator finally gave up the ghost last week (compressor) and it was time for a replacement, as parts for these old contraptions are hard to find. We decided to check out this old school appliance store before moving on to Best Buy or Costco. We wanted to talk to a knowledgeable salesperson before trying someone well versed in computers and TVs, but bored by household kitchen appliances. "Mike," was the right guy. He knew the skinny on kitchen tech, and was pleasant about educating us. Turned out the prices were identical to the other places, had real inventory and the ability to deliver, install and remove within days of purchase, rather than weeks. We opted for the Frigidaire Gallery model, which is basically still American made, and the right size to fit in our washroom next to our other appliances as our back up refrigerator, which the old one had become when we updated our kitchen 20 years ago. Mike took us through the process, had the piece in their warehouse, arranged for favorable financing (12 mo., no int.), with delivery in 2 days. True, there was a reasonable delivery charge, and cost for removing our old dinosaur, but they use their own people to install, not independent contractors. Overall, worth a bit more for the time and convenience, and having someone to call if something goes wrong. We were so pleased by the professional, yet human interaction, that we decided to also purchase a new stove hood exhaust stronger than the one that came with the our stove. It was never able to pull enough cooked air out of the kitchen to vent outside. This may be a continuing saga as the new equipment is delivered, installed and used in life. I've purchased many appliances from Mrs. G's over the years, and never had an issue with the quality of the items, until now. A range was delivered and installed, and immediately exhibited a minor issue with the oven's light. Mrs. G immediately placed a service call with Quaker City Service, who came out to fix the problem. The service call did not go well, leaving me with a non-functioning oven (although the top burners still work). Further conversation with Quaker City failed to resolve the issue in a reasonable manner, so I escalated the problem up to Mrs. G. Mrs. G's response could not have been better. This is really a Quaker City SERVICE issue, but Mrs. G treated it as their SALES problem, and took responsibility for creating an acceptable solution. Mrs. G can rightly expect that their responsibility ends when an appliance is installed. In this case, they have continued efforts until the customer smiled. Our salesman Keith was super helpful, professional and knowledgeable in assisting with our selection of a full appliance package for a kitchen remodel as well as a W&D for our laundry remodel. if you are doing a remodel, Mrs. G's is very helpful in timing your purchase for a convenient delivery. We had a great experience and if there is an adjustment needed on a paneled appliance, they get service/repair workers from the manufacturer to your house very quickly. We recommended a family member for a high end dishwasher replacement and they were also very satisfied with the purchase and delivery, but more importantly they were pleasantly surprised by the customer service at the store. Mrs. G's provides boutique customer service which is so rare in our big box world. High praise for this locally owned, wonderful business. read more

When replacing our outdated stove we had a very specific budget to stick to but also wanted to shop local. We had an excellent experience with Mrs. G's. Mo was our sales rep and he was friendly, knowledgeable, and took his time explaining everything and offering to help research comparable ranges at our price point. Delivery and haul-away of our old stove was fairly seamless and took just over an hour. I can't say enough about what a pleasant experience this was. So much for shopping local... I ordered and paid for a dishwasher which according to the website was in stock and ready for pick up. I was contacted by a representative the following morning and informed that the dishwasher was unavailable. He offered a "comparable" (over $300.00 more expensive) unit which was in stock. I declined the bait and switch and was told he would track down the unit I ordered, and reach me promptly. Three days have passed and I haven't heard from anyone, my new dishwasher arrives today from a box store whose customer service, selection and honesty far surpass what I experienced from this company. Disappointing to say the very least. read more

It's not lost on anyone shopping for appliances that it's getting harder and harder to go local when the entire market seems to be congealing into one big box circus - offering carefully calibrated pricing tied to extremely sloppy and vacant salesmanship where product knowledge is apparently gathered off of Google filtered through a few Budweisers. There's nothing worse than wasting your time talking washer dryer combos with some dude they just pulled over from fencing or paint. They'll sell it to you but don't expect coherence. Mrs. G's is at the very least a step up, offering an environment that features a varied selection of high-end and mainstream brands that can send you an overnight replacement on a defunct refrigerator or deliver a designer kitchen suite with equal ease and the absence of hard core arm twisting. Like anything else, information is your friend especially where wholesale remodels can easily run into five figures. If you are not fond of homework, they won't be giving anything away but will yield to a confident and informed buyer within reason. If you know what you're looking for and have done some preliminary research you'll do well going to G's last. Someone has to get the best price, it might as well be you. read more

Referred to Mrs Gs by our kitchen renovation contractor who advised that salesperson Ashley was his contact. Normally you would think that the appliance part of a kitchen remodel should be the most painless part of a kitchen remodel but dealing with Mrs Gs was the most PAINFUL part of the project. Store rep Ashley only reachable by text message. No phone calls or voice comms. Phone voice mail ALWAYS full so no other option than texting. Rarely responsive and seems to operate on a when it's convenient for me I'll get back to you approach. On to Mrs Gs delivery policy. And by the way you pay for this service. Phone call from delivery company between 8am and 10am ON THE DAY OF DELIVERY and you get a 4 hour window. Guess they think that their customers don't have jobs to pay for all these appliances and can just sit at home all day. Totally laughable when one store rep tried to explain that they changed from evening before notification for the convenience of the customer. Please. Then they deliver the items and out of 4 pieces. 2 are damaged and need to be replaced. Each gets scheduled for delivery on separate days so now we're up to 3 days off just for the appliances. But that's for our convenience. Right. Installation contractors for the kitchen were a total dream. Awesome crew. Mrs Gs, not so much. my experience at mrs. G's store was very good. once we left the store and our very expensive refrigerator broke down after 1 year and five days was a totally unprofessional by their customer service was a downright joke. we have an extended 3 year protection plan. Mrs G"s washed their hands of us immediately stating THEY only guarantee it for a year. They gave us a service person in our area, that was the first week of Sept. It's now the end of Oct and the company they gave us has not come to fix it. Excuse after excuse! Called to complain to mrs. G's about it but they didn't even call their people to follow up the complaint . What kind of business doesn't even call back? Everyone has a phone but they dont seem to use it. Since COVID restrictions began a year ago, I have sold and purchased a house, purchased wood flooring, furniture and carpets as well as the routine food and clothing shopping, safely using the recommended precautions but I have never been treated as I was treated today at Mrs. G's. I walked in the door and was greeted by two creepy mannequins. As I started into the store, a woman who was talking on the phone, stood up and shouted that I needed to go back to the desk, sign in and disinfect my hands! I've never been asked to sign my name to enter any store and although many stores offer disinfectant , none has ever demanded it's use prior to entering. This is way beyond the standard precautions. In this world of big box retailers and category killers, it is refreshing to see a family-owned business such as Mrs. G's stand the test of time. We recently shopped for kitchen appliances and were impressed by the extensive selection of inventory, ranging from basic models to some novel Swedish units. We were promptly serviced by a courteous salesperson who answered all of our questions. We also enjoyed a free beverage and ginger snap cookies during our shopping experience! Debbie S., the owner, runs an excellent operation and is very active in the local community. Mrs. Gs' prices are extremely competitive. Just bought a new GE Dryer last week from Mrs G. Woke up Thursday morning put load-in dryer and one in washer, after hour and half nothing dried. Went to Mrs G as soon as they opened, bought a dryer and had it delivered and installed the next morning. I absolutely love it! Everyone from sales people to installation guys were very nice. The store was clean and Covid friendly, very comfortable shopping. Both grandma B and granddaughter Debbie were super helpful in guiding me on all of my kitchen appliance purchases that suited my family budget and lifestyle. Our 33-year-old dishwasher died last week. We'd had some bad experiences with the big-box stores which we didn't want to repeat, so we headed to Mrs. G's for a replacement. The salesman we spoke to (Emil) was knowledgeable and not overbearing. We asked for evening installation and they accommodated us, though it turned out we didn't need it due to a change in plans. I was concerned about all the reviews where the appliances were damaged before delivery, and asked about that. It turns out that they have two delivery methods, one for lighter things, like dishwashers, and one for heavier, like fridges. For light appliances, the installer delivers it himself and has every motivation to not mess it up. The heavy-appliance crew is the one to keep an eye on. Tim at the front desk is extremely rude. Really nasty. And I'm not sure why but he speaks so loudly that he is almost yelling. I witnessed him snap at an elderly woman today who was politely waiting and asking if someone could show her around. Her and her husband had to leave and my family also left. We had a fiasco with another larger chain and they actually damaged our custom made Cherry cabinets in our kitchen. Not only this, but the warranties on the other places appliances is good for 1 time use. Mrs G's is longer(5 years) and has no limits! Bought and paid for a new refrigerator on 6/15/18. Delivery guys brought a damaged one yesterday and took it back. So far I've had to take two unpaid days off of work and still have no refrigerator. $671.71 might not be a lot of money to some, but it is to me. Between what I've spent on coolers and ice over the past 5 days and loss from my paycheck, I'm very upset. The store manager has refused to compensate me in any way. Wow i cannot believe your customer service! We just tried to purchase a washer machine where we wanted to stay local and support our town. Unfortunately, your customer service is by far the worst. We purchased the washer machine where some fees that were not explained to us were added to the bill, these fees we did not know until the card was ran! Not wanting to fix the issue on your end we decided to cancel the transaction due to the salesperson's attitude. We have been going to this place every-time we needed appliances and are always referring friends however, we'd rather take our business somewhere else! Marina made us feel so uncomfortable and discriminated against. Her attitude and willingness to help your customers is not ideal for this type of business. I really don't like this kind of reviews but it really bothers me the way we were treated and discriminated. In the end, we decided to purchase the same washer machine at PC Richard & Son and ended up paying less with no hidden fees and best of all a more welcoming experience. I asked to speak to the owner for better pricing but Peter, the manager didn't allow me to do that without proof that H&H Appliances is cheaper. I didn't have my paperwork with me to prove it. We just purchased our second appliance from Mrs. G's. The first was the Twitter Fridge (Samsung RF4289), which they beat the price from even the online competitors; in a nutshell, it was 1/3 off MSRP. As much as we like gadgets, this was the only refrigerator that had enough space to carry 4+ gallons of milk in the doors; we now have 2 kids, and within a few short years, they will be drinking their weight in milk. It also looks like a mini-rave machine inside and I can listen to Serge Gainsbourg on Pandora while getting the AP news feed and being reminded that today I have a 9AM appointment with the pediatrician. Each drawer holds nearly a 1/2 bushel of apples (or peaches) from Terhune. Yes, I do love my refrigerator. The reason they received a 4 and not 5 was that we had a few issues with the first refrigerator; it did not get cold. After a few days and many many calls, they agreed to replace the refrigerator instead of having the brand new unit repaired. Understand that this is a ginormous refrigerator and we have a 100+ year old house; the front of the drawers had to be unscrewed; the parlour door to the kitchen had to be removed. They made good. This time around, I finally decided to replace the dishwasher. We had the crappy one that came with the house; as with our washing machine, this thing actually made whatever you put into it dirtier. I am not sure how that works, but I am not a mechanic. I ended up with a Bosch 800 series; more than I had planned to spend, but it is quiet, the dishes are clean without any pre-washing (including a bacon dish), and it was delivered & installed in 2 days. I wanted a machine that did not require pre-rinsing/washing/scrubbing with brush and soap--for that I may as well simply put everything into the drying rack. I found it, and yes, my glasses sparkle, even with the hippie dishwashing detergent and vinegar in the rinse container. Their installers do a great job, unlike Lowes; our electrician had to re-balance the range Lowes installed; the dishwasher and giant refrigerator (it really is massive) do not wobble at all and they work. They even clean up their messes I do not understand their financing, as it is not MSRP based (ie other places have automatic 0% 12-18 month financing on anything over $1000; here it appears based on model?). Additionally, m husband was not with me when I bought the dishwasher, so I had to open a new account instead of using the one we opened in 2011. We already refinanced the house, so I really do not care so much that I opened another account, but that was annoying. I guess that I could have simply waited 2 days, but it was the full moon. In a nutshell, it's a good shop. They're local. The installation guys are local, not via some 800 number. The salespeople actually know their appliances (when I last looked at Lowes and asked about dishwashers, the salesguy admitted that he did not own one because they did not work; another time, I was blessed with blank stares when it came to the water usage, pre-rinsing/washing questions; not so here). If you ask the difference between Kitchenaid & Electrolux, you will get an honest answer. Ditto the difference between a Bosch & Miele, and that yes, I was not crazy when I noticed that using Cascade in certain dishwashers caused the dishes to smell like wet dog. My update is a bit wonky, as my 6 month old keeps typing, but I'm really happy that Mrs. G's made up for what had been a really poor first impression. read more

I really liked the experience I had shopping at Mrs G's. First off, the reason they are so good is their customer service is EXCELLENT. I noticed that another review here was for 1 star and that they were pissed because no one acknowledged them when they were in the store. I definitely did NOT have this problem, and I'm not over 80 :D (I'm in my early 30's) I have been in there a few times, and someone is always by to help you within a few minutes. No one is pushy or overbearing, but they definitely acknowledge you when you come in the door. We bought all of our new kitchen appliances from here. They have some of the best selection of high-end appliances in the area, which is why we went there in the first place, but I was truly impressed with the customer service and our sales person in particular. Our sales person was Mike S. and, if you can, I would recommend dealing with him when you go into the store. Not because any other sales person is bad, it's just that Mike really knows his stuff. He knows all about the appliances, and seems to know the store's inventory like the back of his hand. He can tell you the pros/cons of just about anything in there. We knew we wanted a really nice, high end stove, and Mike was able to describe in detail the differences between Thermador, Viking, Wolf and the other big names. We ended up going with a Bertazzoni stove, which is not as popular of a brand as some of the others. Mike still knew all about it, like burner qualities and efficiency, accessory options, oven capabilities, etc. He also was able to get us a great deal on a farmhouse sink they happened to have on tent sale that would have cost $1,200 elsewhere... we paid $600! They often have sales on their floor models, and you can definitely get a great deal. If you know what you're looking for, just tell Mike. He will know exactly what they have in stock and on sale and will be able to help you decide on a product without being pushy or too sales-pitchy. He also really takes the time to make sure all of your questions are answered. On top of all that Mrs G's is a family-run business, which I love to see in this day and age of big-box stores. I think you end up getting better service when you deal with a store like Mrs G's compared to some of the huge chain stores. I highly recommend Mrs G's when appliance shopping, and highly recommend Mike S. as a salesperson. read more

The 25-year -old (!) washing machine finally gave up the ghost, and it was time to replace it - on a budget. We nosed around a couple local big-box stores and online, but didn't feel like we could get the straight information we needed. A friend recommended Mrs. G's. Now, I'll be honest, I tend to go directly for online/big box, because I assume they have the best price. WRONG. Mrs. G's not only had a salesman (Pete) that was patient and friendly. He not only answered all of my annoying pre-purchase research questions, but steered me toward a model that wasn't even shown to in other stores that hit the 'sweet spot' of affordability and features. I slept on the purchase, came in the next day and was out the door in 15 minutes. There was no high pressure up-sell on extended warranty/service plans, although it was offered and was reasonably priced. I'm just not an extended warranty guy, generally speaking. Best part? I came in right on budget. Delivery was friendly, fast and at the beginning of the time window I was given the night before. Finally, I am happy to be able to support a family owned, local small business. The profit from my purchase will stay in my area, as will the sales tax collected. For all future appliance purchases, Mrs. G's will be my first, and likely last stop. I encourage all fellow Yelpers in the Mercer/Bucks County area to check them out. read more

Went here to check out high end appliances for our kitchen renovation. Arrived about half an hour before closing. The only greeting we received was "you know, we are closing in thirty minutes". Not one word like "welcome to Mrs. G's". Perhaps we weren't well-dressed enough and they thought we couldn't afford things like Sub Zero and Wolfe. No one offered to help us. We walked around a few minutes and left. Bought our appliances from the wonderful, friendly, Vandegrift store in New Britain/Doylestown, PA. We bought from Mrs. G's twenty-five years ago. Worst place ever! Bought a new high end oven from them. The delivery people were surly. It was installed incorrectly and we had to call in our own electrician to get the job done right. We were foolish and went back to buy a new washer and dryer from them. The base for the washer was broken. The salesman refused to return our phone calls. We finally walked into into the store to talk to him, and he told us there was nothing he could do. Again, our handyman came, ordered a new base from the company at our expense and fixed everything correctly. Will NEVER use them again! read more
