Stopped by for some stretched hair so I could do knotless braids for my daughter. The store is clean, and fairly new - opened last year. The woman who was there was super pleasant - greeted me when I walked in, asked if she could be of any assistance, and she suggested options and let me know where to find more information about the hair style I was looking to execute. The store is clean, spacious, and well organized. I am so grateful for this store! I was looking for a beauty supply store to buy hair braid extensions late on a Friday night for a hair appointment early the next day. I found Mienne online and gave it a shot since it was close by and most other beauty supply stores were closing soon. The minute I walked in and saw a black woman sitting behind the counter I immediately felt relieved. I typically do not wear my hair in braids and was not sure what braid extensions to buy. The store not only has a broad selection of hair, but also an incredible stock of black hair care products. AND it is BLACK-OWNED! As opposed to going to Sally Beauty Supply or Beauty 4U where I typically am met by a store clerk who is either rude or has limited experience, if any, first-hand knowledge to assist me, the clerk at Mienne provided great advice and allowed me to feel the different textures of hair while explaining the products and how they would work. Soon after I walked in, the owner herself arrived to take over for the rest of the night. She was equally as informative and provided me with great customer care. She was able to recommend a great shampoo/conditioner for naturals that I had never heard of, and tell me what hair care products were most popular among customers. The whole experience was such a pleasant surprise. I asked the owner what the store name meant and she explained that it's the word "mine" in French and that she really wanted to create a store that black women could call their own. I love this store's story and the fact that it was created for us by us. Not only does it carry a wide selection of hair products, but also makeup and lashes. I will certainly be returning to this store and recommend those in the Tysons/McLean area check it out. As far as I know, there's no other one like it! read more

The store is a gem in Tysons. I've been able to purchase beauty supplies during this chaotic time without worry of compromising my health. Prior to the shut down, I communicated with a representative at the store via social media and was responded to in an timely fashion. As we are into Phase 1, I spoke/met with an employee who was extremely friendly and explained their policy of purchasing. The pricing is not gouged for the product and they have a solid selection for hair care. Which is not limited to, but selling other items such as lotions, eye lash extensions and make up.
