Tybee Island is around 30 minutes away in a cozy little coastal town. The rate to go in the lighthouse covers the lighthouse and their museum. We only had time for the lighthouse. The price is $12 for adults and $10 for children. Children 5 and under are free. I was surprised they allow children of all ages. Normally there is a height restriction. My youngest (4) was thrilled because he's always wanted to join on our family tradition but was too short or young. He did a excellent job along with our (8) year old and my husband walking up the 178 steps. This is the tallest lighthouse in Georgia and the climb is fairly easy in my opinion. There is a break at every 25 steps where you can look out a window or just take a breath and let people pass if needed. The view from above is beautiful. You can see the water. There is no staff member at the top and the staff do not spend long explaining the lighthouse but there are signs to read. Overall it was a good experience and it's a beautiful lighthouse. My tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the house and even other movies filmed there. The tour started in the basement with stories about slave workers. The Society itself was incorporated in 1839 and now holds the world's largest collection of materials germane to Georgia history. Hodgson Hall is a delightful building with a commodius interior and fine iron-work on the exterior, making a visit feel like a trip to a grand library at one of the world's great universities. Architect Lienau, though German-born, was one of the founders of the American Institute of Architects and though not as well-known as some of America's nineteenth-century architects, did some very innovative work including this building and it is fitting that the Historical Society is housed in a building of such note and merit. The collection itself is not only large but varied and while a lot of it understandably concerns the colonial and Civil War periods of Savannah's lengthy history, it also has interesting architectural and social content regarding the modern and contemporary history of the city and region. The Society also conducts frequent talks and events including special programs for schoolkids, partnerships with local colleges, and other efforts at outreach.

You won't be able to do your Methodology paper without access to the boxes kept in a climate controlled environment that you have to sign for and can't leave the building with, but it's worth it to leaf through the 90 year old Grand Tour diary of the 10 year old son of a doctor who was one of the earliest users of the X-Ray. I think he died of radiation poisoning. Imagine that. It's a cool and quiet library with big wood tables, little lamps and a gallery running around the room. Just what you'd picture. The people working there are cool, quiet, smart and helpful, and if you appreciate libraries, history, books, and/or architecture, you should visit.

Unfortunately her delegate who gave us our tour on June 5 was UNACCEPTABLE. I believer we would have enjoyed our two hours more just walking around on our own. We learned more of Beaufort's history, houses and residents on our Dolphins Adventures Tour than we did with this replacement guide. There were only 4 of us on the tour and the guide spent the entire time talking with two phd child psychology students, a couple, trying to impress them with his knowledge of their field of study. He spent more time on this than talking about Beaufort. We traditionally love walking tours as it allows for engagement with the guide etc. We were ignored like we were not even on the tour zero engagement the exact opposite of every other one of our tours on our two week trip. . A church was unlocked for us to walk in. Unfortunately a number of others sauntered in the open door and we had to wait a good 15 minutes while the others moseyed around the interior used the bathroom (queued) etc. as our guide had to wait until they left. I liked that the tour ventured out of the historic part of town to go to the Beaufort National Cemetery, as it's one of those places people visiting would otherwise likely skip out on. Overall, I'd rate the tour 4 stars, as I didn't like it as much as other Atlantic coastal town tours I've done in the past (Southport, for example), and this tour was a bit more expensive in comparison (but still worth it). I also thought it was a bit much to be told to leave a review by the guide, and also receive messages via both email and text message to review as well.

The track could probably use some re-paving and some more amenities could be added to bring it up to the levels of other local tracks. But if you come prepared with a tent and tools, you'll have one of the best track days of your life. Well, at least until Hutchison Island opens back up. RRR is a fast and fun track that will test you and put a smile on your face!

The location is just outside of a neighborhood and in a very private suburb of Savannah. The track is narrower than say, a Barber of Road Atlanta, but wide enough. The surface is actually very nice and not too bad on tires, but can get slick on the edges due to the sand in the area. The front straight is super fast and turn 1 takes some serious getting use to before you really learn how fast you can actually tip in. The grounds are very well laid out and well kept. Their's power all over the place so generators aren't really necessary. You have to pit in the sandy grass so be sure to bring a rug and some chairs when you come. I love the track and cannot wait to race on it again.

A trip to Savannah can't be completed without a visit to Bonaventure cemetery, one of the most…read morehaunted areas in Savanah, about 10-15 minute drive from historical district. This cemetery is also famous from the book and movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The cemetery provides a tour, $30 per person. You can also do your own tour. We did not take the tour due to crunching in time. We downloade a map from the Bonaventure historical society and drove through the cemetery. We stopped at the interested area and walked around to visit famous tombs. There are many symbols and beautiful statues carved by a famous sculptor, John Walz. The most famous grave is Gracie, in section D, who belonged to little Gracie, who died in 1889 at age 6 from pneumonia. Other tombs like Hershbach angel in as well as Taliaffero in section D. Section H and F also have amny beautiful statues.
