Paul was extremely attentaive, gave us a quck estimate which was lower than the competition by a significant amount, and worked with us to have the fense installed in a timely manner. The materials were also of good quality. However, to have the top of the fence slope with the terrain, they left some rather large gaps at the bottom of the fence which I then had to address. They also use only a two run system (top and bottom) without having a middle runner. They really should specify that in the bid and contract. If we ever needed another fence, I'd consider using them again but would significantly tighten up the contract.

We were looking to remove an old chain link fence (with lots of brush grown in & around) and replace with a double-sided, capped traditional fence with a few gates. I researched 20+ companies and reached out for bids to at least 10; some ghosting or never responding. ABF's request form gathered enough information that they could provide me a pretty accurate budget right off the bat before even coming on-site! I appreciated that they then sent someone out once I confirmed the tentative budget and we chatted more about details and firmed up the numbers and project design. He even measured our car to make sure our drive-in spot was the correct length! The PgM gave honest answers about which materials we should invest in vs. where we could save. The building team did a great job with solid craftsmanship. We even asked if they could help connect our neighbor's fence and we thought we would come out to see a few patched boards... but they connected the fence in the same style as ours with a cap etc. which looked really nice. Our neighbor even reached out to see if they could get their contact info to fix their fence! The PgM was on site every day to check-in with the crew and us and addressed any concerns quickly. Once the project was complete the PgM came back out to inspect the work, marking a few boards to replace that we didn't even see fault with - definitely an eye for attention to detail which we appreciated!

Just say you do not want to do the job or better yet read the specs beforehand and do not bother wasting people's time with absurd and beyond outrageous quotes. No one this absurd changes behaviors, use the company at your own risk.

Had a bad experience with this company…read more They came out for a bid, and was very prompt and professional. We decided to hire them in building a simple privacy fence for us. They gave me a start date of 5/9. A week before the install date they contacted me to let me know they had to cancel and rescheduled me for the end of the month, that was not a big deal. Then, three days ago they contact me again, saying they can install on the original date of 5/9 after all. This was still not a big deal, but I had to juggle a lot of things to include getting my wife a place to sleep as she is a night shift ER nurse so she can't sleep in the day when they work and was between her shifts. I also had to get my dogs to a kennel so they wouldn't bark at the crew all day long. I took the day off since I work 24 hour shifts so I could be there to let the crew in to get started. I also had to speak with all 5 of my neighbors I shared this fence with the make sure they where aware they would not have a fence for two days, etc. On 5/9 I got up early, and got everything ready and the wife and dogs off, and no one showed. I waited until 10am before I had to contact Brent who was unaware of the issue and advised me he didn't know why no one was there but was attempting to get a hold of the contractor who they asked to do the install. I was under the impression they had their own crews, but I guess they used a contractor this time as I assume this was a smaller project for them. By 2:30 Brent advised me that they had never been able to get a hold of the guy who was to do my install and that they could not get anyone out to me today, making my day and all my arrangements I made useless. Needless to say I was quite upset. Brent was apologetic, but didn't really have any answers nor solutions for me, just blamed this unknown contractor they somehow could never get a hold of. I had no choice but to cancel my contract and get my %50 down refunded to me The next morning Mark came to our home to give back my deposit and apologize. As angry I was about the situation I will say it was nice for them to return my money so fast. What boggled my mind was Mark's response to me when returning my check was "I wish you had told us you took the day off work". I don't know what me taking the day off of work has to do with them meeting an arranged install date, but I guess if you have a fence built by them make sure to tell them you are taking the day off of work, it will help them make the install date, or something? Overall I think Mark and his company are decent and honest people. They need to probably hire more reliable contractors if they are going to put their reputation on the line like that. Thanks for wasting my money and more importantly, my time.
