Where do I start? I started seeing Dr. Beck a few months back at the recommendation of my functional medicine doctor for my UC symptoms. As a woman with PCOS, I always knew getting pregnant was going g to be difficult. After three years of trying, I decided to do a round of accupuncture before going in to try full on fertility treatments. Beck was fantastic. She explained everything with great detail, not just how to change my diet and lifestyle but why each change was relevant. I've only done acupuncture once and Beck "poked" that cherry for me. She is a super down to earth person with a nurturing attitude. If you have any stigmatisms or worries about doing acupuncture, like I did, Beck will quickly put you at ease and will be quick to debunk a flawed theory. Dr. Beck helped me a lot with my terrible back pain that's caused by spinal stenosis, herniated disks, arthritis,etc. The pain I've been feeling before I saw her was almost unbearable. A couple of sessions made me believe that pain relief was possible without experiencing excruciating pain from the treatment itself which I regrettably experienced from my previous acupuncturist. My doctor recommended acupuncture to help ease some pain from an accident, and so I came to see Beck, as nervous as could be! The idea of needles sort of freaked me out but I was willing to try almost anything. Wow, what a great experience! She immediately put me at ease, explained everything, and really listened intently to all that was going on with me. She knows a lot of things about the body, health, etc, and I have felt so comfortable every time I've visited her. Besides acupuncture she mixes Chinese herbs, has great recommendations on other natural remedies, and uses oils and cupping to help with all my maladies. Beck Hoehn is great. She's extremely knowledgable and really cares about her patients. One of the biggest complaints I have about most medical professionals I see (and I see A LOT of them) is that they don't seem to care all that much and certainly don't go out of their way or go that extra mile. Don't even get me started on how they are nearly impossible to contact when you have questions or even an emergency. That's not the case with Beck. I can tell that she really loves to help people and is deeply concerned (and even a little excited) about the well being of her patients. Dr. Hoehn has been treating me for a few weeks and I have seen a great improvement for my back pain. We have done several types of treatments from acupuncture and cupping to home remedies that she has recommended. I would suggest seeing her on a regular basis if you have back or neck pain. It isn't an instant cure all. I have had undiagnosed back/neck pain for years. I feel better than I have in years and love her holistic approach. I was told by my general practitioner that I have soft tissue damage from a high speed impact car accident. I have been taking muscle relaxers and more for the past 5 years because of the unbearable pain without any change in my pain level. I have only recently gotten into acupuncture, as I had always thought it was not "real". Well boy was I wrong, and wish I had used it years before!! I am a very active guy, who skis as much as I possible can. I also work in very demanding settings, so my body gets beat up. I started seeing Beck when we have been trying to have a baby for more than a year and it was unsuccessful.
