How does one describe THE Mighty Taco? Well let's start with the place it self. Looking like a run down late 80s fast food joint, time may have passed but this place's ambience has not. I can still see my dad smoking as I get my food. The service? Well let's say it take a village to raise a child and apparently 4 people to make 4 tacos. And these people took 8 minutes. That's 2 minutes per taco which only included beef and the half slice of American cheese (just like mom used to make at home where half a slice went to your taco and the other half in her mouth). The feast of 4 tacos tasted about as good as they did in the 80s and by that I would not be surprised if it was the same bag of meat frozen since then because the shell sure must have been as it was hard like a rock. By the way did you know you are supposed to bake the shells from the box from the grocery store? Someone should tell Might Taco this. The best part of my meal, the bag of Tostitos they gave my son as "nachos" with a small saucer cup of a yellow orange substance that contained products that look like cheese but is most likely not. They should have thrown in that other half of a slice they didn't put in the tacos. Moral of the story: Every child need to experience Mighty taco so they know what their parents lived through so they can appreciate Chic Fil A more. Save your money and if you want Mexican food, go to a Mexican restaurant or if nothing else, buy the soft toilet paper for your post meeting with Mighty Taco. read more

A ton of food cheap. You get what you pay for. I was not terribly hungry and just wanted a quick fill me up. I knew it was likely a terrible idea to stop here but I've seen crappier joints with really solid food. The woman at the counter was very sweet and helpful with the menu. I ordered the chicken fajita salad and two ground beef hardshell tacos. There was a very good balance of meat and veggies which is what usually sinks a Mexican joint. So, that was good. Too bad it was all so bland. The meats had no flavor. The shell was chewy and crunchy. Is there a word for that? Crewy? Chunchy? At any rate, it was bland but it filled it's purpose for less than $8. I think this particular Mighty Taco has excellent customer service. I'm never pulled over to the side to wait for my food, and everything I get from here tastes freshly cooked and assembled. The workers are generally pleasant and seem more willing to help than other fast food restaurants. The food is not exactly Mexican, Mighty Taco belongs in a category all its own. On my way home from an intensive weekend of cross-border shopping, I decided to introduce Likeaphenomena to Mighty Taco, a Buffalo area institution known for its very fresh fast food style Mexican food as well as its unusual and almost surreal advertising (check it out on You Tube). This location is retro 70's cool, strikingly clean and the food was very fresh. Service was fast and the two of us ate for a very economical $8 and change which included a drink, nachos (in a sealed plastic bag) salsa, a chicken fajita and vegetarian burrito . Everything tasted good. We were impressed. On my next visit I pledge to try the Loganberry drink and by way of a friend who visits regularly a Buffito. I am not sure if it is because I have tasted authentic Mexican food living in California or that I just have tasted food in general but this place is worth passing by. I went to this particular Mighty Taco on the eve of Tuesday July 24. the service I received had its and ups and a big down. Sam took my order in the drive thru and was very polite and respectful. The food I ordered was top notch. However, the thing that put a damper in my night was when I got to the window. The employee who took my money was very rude and harsh. He stuck his hand out the window very staunchly and and harshly told me,my cost. After that, Eric, this particular employees name, almost throw the bag out the window in the exchange and promptly slammed the window shut.
