When securing the hot springs resort and spa, my "friend" wanted to book it late at night around 9 pm. I wasn't too fond of that idea since I wanted to view the scenery. Anyway, he changed the reservation time by phone. We went with the basic package for 60 minutes. Once we arrived, the parking lot was spacious. We went to check in and purchased some souvenirs that were a bit on the pricey side. An older gentleman who was nice walked us to our hot springs which was just a secluded hot tub near a free-flowing body of water. The hot tub temperatures were warm and not skin-burning hot, but it was perfect since it eased my tense and painful muscles that I had been temporarily suffering since the beginning of the week. I can't say if the water was real mineral water or not. I just wasn't expecting the hot springs to be a hot tub with jets. My expectations were much higher, as I had imagined like the ones in Colorado. I was hoping to nestle my body against some geological formations as I was engulfed in peace and relaxation.

There are amazing mountain views with plenty of windows to capture the scenery. It is extremely clean and spacious with remarkable interior decorating. The Wildberry Lodge gives you the privacy of the mountains with the feel of an upscale hotel. The amenities include a hot tub with stunning views as well as the best basement man cave that includes a pool table, shuffle board, and unique amenities like an old school Scrabble board. The breakfast features fresh fruit, delicious eggs, potatoes, and a variety of juices. We are not the typical frustrated novelist who always post reviews. However, we had an amazing weekend and confident you will have a similar experience. ​

During our trip to Asheville we wanted to experience the city but also have cabin time. Wildberry lodge provided us with the most relaxing and comfortable experience we could ever ask for. Wild berry is definitely a way to get out of the city and just enjoy the quietness of nature (without going too far of course!) The drive itself is around 25-30 mins from downtown Asheville - there are several ways to get here but the new foundland road was probably the best route. It's easy to stay in the cabin and go enjoy yourself in the city during the day or evening. Ken and Glenda were very hands off and so friendly - if you have questions on where to go or what to do they can accommodate everything! The main cabin has multiple rooms - gooseberry and some other room options. This is where you check in, get breakfast, game room, sit on the deck, coffee/cider bar and chit chat with other guests if your heart desires. The best part of our stay was Glenda's breakfasts! Her recipes were featured in an Asheville bed and breakfast recipe book! We signed up for a bfast time the day prior (anywhere from 8am-930am) and she is usually ready whenever we get there! Our first breakfast included - garden frittata, bacon, homemade English muffin, rosemary roasted potatoes and to finish it off - poached pear. Our second breakfast included pumpkin pecan pancakes, cranberry/apple chutney and sausages and ended it with a mixed berry cobbler. Everything was superb and very filling! We stayed in the honey moon suite to get the full cabin - on our own - experience and it was gorgeous! The bed is super comfy, everything was clean and up to date. It was almost like glamping! Only downside to our visit was the drive at night can be a bit scary if you are not use to driving on mountains. One of the first nights it was raining so it was slightly difficult coming back to the cabin from downtown Asheville. Just make sure you have a car and drive safely! After the initial drive you will get use to it and it should be easier' Other than that - this is a place worth splurging on and visiting!' Thanks Ken and Glenda!!

I have stayed here twice, both times in the upper right-hand room with access to the wonderful covered porch. Rooms are comfortable, yet not fancy, and the innkeeper's, long-time Black Mountain residents, are delightful people who go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Have stayed most everywhere in Black Mountain, and this is my second favorite place. Recommend it highly.

We stayed at RiverDance for a wedding of a friend of ours and my wife, as usual, made the best…read moredecision. I don't think we've stayed in a better place while attending a wedding before...other than our own wedding, of course :) Callie and Dave were so friendly and caring. We felt very at home with them as our hosts. RiverDance was the perfect spot for our group too. We stayed with some newly acquired "friends" of the bride (like us) and we all had plenty of space to get to know each other without invading each other's space. The views are incredible too. We had so much fun returning from wedding events to just hang out together. I would recommend RiverDance to anyone who is visiting the Marshall / Hot Springs area. I know we will be back :)

The price was incredible for a two bedroom suite with a loft-style living room and a large bathroom. All the amenities of a five-star hotel!
