I absolutely love this bed & breakfast. We've spent the past two New Year's getaways here and count Susan and John as the best hosts we've encountered in our travels. The historic home is stunningly beautiful and conveniently located by car near Downtown Asheville or the Biltmore. The three-course breakfasts, claw-foot tubs, in-room fireplaces, huge front porch, access to coffee/tea/water/wine, hospitality, and house-made cookies available around the clock are some of my favorite features. We don't usually stay in the same place twice but have begun making this an annual tradition...it's just that good! read more

We had the opportunity to come across this sweet gem! We were looking for a quick short trip. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners Susan and John who showed us around and offered us a glass of wine and the flourless chocolate cake, at this point I told my husband we didn't need to go anywhere else. We sat on the beautiful porch, watched the sunset and recharged our souls in peace. We loved our spacious room and got the relaxation we were looking for. My favorite time to travel is off season, Asheville in the winter is most enjoyable. I zipped to Sweet Biscuit Inn for a night and had a lovely stay. Sometimes it is hit or miss in old houses. All the rooms have remodeled bathrooms. So it is the best of both worlds, charming house with modern ammenities. This place would be amazing for a bridal party to rent the whole house. There are 7 rooms plus a carriage house. The owners are really welcoming. Cheap, quick Uber ride away from downtown, great place to stay in Asheville. read more

Great house, amazing food, and the nicest hosts! Sweet Biscuit Inn was a great spot for our girls weekend. Susan greeted us with a glass of bubbles and fresh cookies while John built a fire in one of their guest-room fireplaces and brought our luggage to the rooms. After spending our days exploring Asheville (eating, drinking, and shopping our way through this great city) it was nice to come back to adjoining rooms with our own private sitting area for late night girl talk! We had amazing breakfasts-- bloody Mary deviled eggs, homemade sweet potato biscuits, spinach, tomato and goat cheese frittata, and the Greek yogurt with homemade lemon curd were on my list of favorites. The nice touches were everywhere--fresh flowers, chocolates, mini fridges stocked with water--the list goes on! I highly recommend Sweet Biscuit for your next get away! read more

Sweet Biscuit Inn is a wonderful bed-and-breakfast in the Kensington neighborhood of Asheville. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend in Asheville - the location is very close to downtown and very convenient. The house itself is over 100 years old and has been well cared for. John and Susan have created a warm and welcoming place! The yard has beautiful plants , flowering bushes, just gorgeous place to look at from the large front porch. The accommodations were spotless, the sheets amazing, John made a wonderful breakfast every day, and there were homemade cookies and treats all day. As we pulled up to this lovely Victorian home festooned in garland and white lights, we knew we were in for a magical stay. Susan greeted us at the door with freshly baked white chocolate and cranberry cookies and two glasses of pinot noir. John carried our bags to the room, so we could relax on the spacious landing with a library and a baby grand piano (I even got to try out some old middle school piano pieces). Our room in the main house was spacious with a well-appointed bathroom. The shower got hot quickly and had good water pressure. The shower head was even high enough for people over six feet! The Inn is in a fabulous location close to a great park with walking paths along the river. The Biltmore Mansion and Biltmore Village are also closeby. It's basically close to everything, but you get to sleep in a quiet neighborhood. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer! We had a long drive and left at 7am, but Susan and John still woke up early to make sure we had breakfast to take with us. We are so grateful for their amazing hospitality. read more

My husband and I stayed here last month and were surrounded with luxury and pampering. From the kind after-hours welcome (the owners stayed up to make sure we arrived safe and sound after midnight) and welcome package to the most comfortable bed and then to wake to a THREE-COURSE gourmet breakfast, I can honestly say we were treated like royalty. The breakfast was so wonderful and I am hard-pressed to think of the last time I had such a feast in the morning hours. On the Sunday morning of our stay we were treated to custom-made crepes. This was just what we needed. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Christian, who gave us a tour and got us settled. Everything was perfect there. The room was impeccably clean. The bathroom was beautiful with a large claw foot tub fit for a relaxing bath, and it was so clean I wasn't afraid to indulge in one. Breakfast is served promptly at 8:30, with all guest gathered together in the dining room. Christian describes the dishes that Claudia has expertly crafted. And let me tell you, the breakfast are to die for. Every bite is delicious and you leave the table fully sated. One morning we had crepes as our third course and they were nothing short of divine. In addition, their attention to detail is impeccable. Upon realizing I was left handed from there on out they placed my silverware to the left. At check in they asked if either us preferred decaf coffee over regular, and because I do, they brewed some for me each morning. Also, they saw I carried a personal thermos for water each day and they made sure to get it and fill it with ice and fresh water each morning. It's the little things like that, that really set this place apart from other B&Bs. The house itself is beautiful and was surprisingly quiet. When I pointed this out to them, they explained they had spent quit a bit of money to upgrade the insulation and sound proof the inn. They were excited that I had noticed how quiet our room was even though they were hosting a small party one evening. We literally could not hear a peep. What was even more impressive to me was the fact that I never wanted for hot water in my shower. I figured with all the other guest there I'd be fighting for hot water and water pressure, but that just wasn't the case. Everything was perfect. The location is a 5 minute drive to downtown, maybe even three if you catch the lights right. And there is ample parking in one of the garages. I was glad we didn't stay right downtown. It was so much nicer to have a luxurious quiet place to come back to in the evenings. Overall, we could not have asked for a better place to stay. This is where you go when you really want to treat yourself to the best Asheville has to offer. read more

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we absolutely loved it! we were traveling with all of our siblings and so we booked the carriage house and a room in the main house. We only stayed for a night and it was fantastic! the service was great and our hosts were lovely people. The bathrooms and the bedrooms were extremely clean, I saw the cleaning ladies come in during the afternoon and they took their own sweet time cleaning which was a pleasant surprise =) also, I left my sunglasses on the Porch and Chrisitan was really thoughtful, he mailed them to my house! Breakfast was great too, overall a perfect day/night spent with my husband and all our siblings! read more

What a great little bed and breakfast. The hosts are very gracious, and you can tell that they put in a lot of hard work to make everyone's stay very enjoyable. Our room was very nice and quite comfortable. Everything was quiet and peaceful, and honestly my favorite part of the whole stay was just sitting on the porch swing in the cool night air. That and the fact that a fresh plate of cookies magically appears on the table in the foyer every evening. Breakfasts were good, but that's probably the one place where I'd say they could improve. I think that they perhaps overcomplicate the experience a bit. Adventurous dining options (salmon and asparagus quiches, etc) don't always mesh perfectly with diverse groups of strangers. They may do well gravitating back toward a more standard classic-style American breakfast. All in all, however, we greatly enjoyed our time there and will certainly return in the future if we have the opportunity. read more

Claudia and Christian have created a homey, welcoming inn that is close to so many of the local Asheville attractions. Upon arrival, Christian greats you by name and remembers the comments entered on the room registration. In my case, he remembered and confirmed my food allergies and preference for decaf coffee. Each morning we started the day with the wonderful company of the other guests and a 3 course meal prepared by Claudia. The breakfast did not disappoint as so many of the other reviews have said. On Friday evening Christian held an optional wine tasting and gathering with live guitar music on the front porch for all guests. The room was large by inn standards and comfortable. It was clean and well appointed. The bathroom was of a nice size and well stocked as well. I loved the luxurious bed linens and pillow top. We loved everything about our stay ay the Sweet Biscuit Inn and will definitely be back again. read more

Wow! I am a local gal who has the pleasure of visiting local b&b's on a fairly regular bases. This is truly my favorite thus far. It is tucked away in the Kenilworth area of Asheville. Kenilworth boasts an incredible diverse array of homes. All fabulous in their own way. The location could not be better as minutes to downtown and Biltmore. Arriving at Sweet Biscuit I was promptly greeted by Susan and John, the innkeepers. Susan shared some specifics about the house and John showed me to my room. Wow! Welcoming, warm painted deep red walls, luxurious bed facing the wood burning fireplace And to top it off, just as I had dreamt a sweet bath with a deep soaking claw foot tub. I longingly gazed at the fireplace and inquired to John if it would be possible to have a fire. Pronto! He had a fire roaring hot. I settled in and ran a nice, hot bubble bath. The water stayed warm which was very welcoming on this bitter cold night. After my bath, feeling totally relaxed, I settled into my comfy bed. I listened to a little Chopin and enjoyed reading my Virginia Woolf book. I don't remember falling asleep but upon awakening the next morning I felt completely refreshed. It has taken me a while to get this review on here: my apologies for the delay!! I saw a recent post requesting a B&B recommendation in Asheville and the Sweet Biscuit Inn immediately popped in my head! Last year, I took my son and his friend to the Sweet Biscuit Inn for Spring Break and had a great experience, and it was pretty affordable! It's within walking distance of Biltmore Village if you don't mind a little, scenic stroll to get there--we had great weather so the boys and I loved it! The food was awesome!!! And it's served to all guests at the same time, while sitting at the same table, like a family breakfast...was a great way to interact with the other guests! The owners, Christian and Claudia, are married, from France, and very kind! The wife is a classically trained chef, hence the food being so good!! My room (Bird Song Suite) was ready upon arrival and there were cookies in the entryway every time we walked by ;) They have a seating area on the stairwell landing with comfy seats, books, a piano, and games/toys hidden away for children who may stay. I also loved that they had a guitar for me to play on the upper stair landing...it's the little things sometimes!! Overall, highly recommend! Go and enjoy! read more

Christian and Claudia are wonderful hosts. Claudia is a gourmet cook and serves up a breakfast like no other we have had anywhere. Different styles of crepe, scones that are more like desert, fruit with a moose topping. (Don't expect me to know how to spell that correctly; it is way beyond what I am used to eating.) Our breakfast carried us all the way to dinner. The Inn is in a great location, just a few minutes from the Biltmore Estate in one direction and a few more minutes the other way to downtown Ashville. It is in a quiet and beautiful area of Ashville. This was one of our favorite places to stay in the South. read more

Lovely owners, lovely home, lovely area. My friend and I opted to stay in the Carriage house, behind the main house. (This review is primarily on the carriage house of the Sweet Biscuit Inn) It's a bit private, with it's own porch, kitchen, living room, sitting room and dining area on the main floor. Upstairs are two identical bedrooms with queen beds full of pillows and puffy comforters. Bathroom is modern with modern bathtub and sink. We stayed two nights (minimum required) and were thoroughly pleased with our accommodations. Christian brought us cream for our coffee and cookies, everyday. Gas stove, makes great coffee.. so we had our coffee outside on the porch, every morning. Every afternoon, we would take afternoon coffee on the porch. Carriage house living room has a fireplace/heater thingy that felt like a real fireplace when we laid on the couches.... There is wifi in the carriage house. Plenty of room, lots of privacy, don't hear one another when in our bedrooms. Funny thing, I never went inside the main house, so I can't tell you about it. All we did was roam Asheville and then come home to our little cottage and make coffee and put our feet up and enjoy the birds... A wonderful place... They are lovely people. And if you like a little privacy, the carriage house is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Spacious, beautifully decorated, quiet, private.... I would definitely come back and stay here, again.. and maybe even go inside and see the main house. read more

Sweet Biscuit Inn is located in a lovely quiet residential neighborhood, yet is convenient to so much that Asheville has to offer. The home is elegant and inviting with a grand foyer upon entering. The front porch makes for an inviting place for morning coffee or afternoon wine tasting. We stayed in room 4 which was upstairs, a queen room with newly remodeled modern bath. There was a convenient coffee station right outside our room near the library. The host couple and their three course French breakfasts were the real shining stars of our stay. Claudia and Christian were more than willing to help with suggestions in making our visit memorable. And as other reviewers have said, the breakfast was truly exceptional. Homemade croissants, crepes and other delights await each morning. We didn't have to eat again until dinner each day of our stay. We would have preferred to leave the windows open and not run the somewhat noisy air conditioner but the room windows opened to the porch and we did not want late night or early morning noise. We stayed at the sweet biscuit in in November. We always worry about staying at bed-and-breakfast that we won't have the privacy and will feel nervous that we might disturb someone. We didn't feel this way at all at the sweet biscuit. We arrived within the designated windows and immediately shown to our room and given a key so we could come and goes we please. There were also fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies and the lobby. After a restful evening we woke up to breakfast and it was amazing. They made crepes to order with a delicious savory breakfast and fresh made coffee. We would definitely stay at the sweet biscuit again. read more

We really enjoyed our stay! The bed (room 4) upstairs was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and roomy. Even with the window unit however, our room didn't stay all that cool. The second floor was defintely warm day and night, so be aware. Claudia and Christian were both very welcoming and accommodating, and both were helpful with ideas of things to do, places to go. I had some quirky dietary requests and they were gracious about accommodating me. And the food...even if the bed was uncomfortable, we'd come back for the food. She had homemade french macarons waiting on a tray for all guests night and day. Good coffee was available 24/7, and the 3 course breakfasts complete with homemade biscuits and scones were to die for. Our 3rd course on the last day was "famous chocolate cake"...yes, for breakfast, and it was THE BEST. Luckily there was a well equipped gym right down the street! read more
