Had this place bookmarked for a while and finally had the chance to visit. I enjoyed the visit so much that I'm annoyed I live a little far from it. Love how this place is decorated in a simple way with lots of fun. Our server was amazing, I am terrible at remembering names, however, thank you so much for making our experience so nice. The food was delicious. We ordered the scallion pancakes, the Vegetarian Ramen, and the Spicy Miso Ramen. Every dish had delicious flavor profiles. For desert we had the Japanese cheesecake, it was fluffy and not overly sweet. We enjoyed everything so much. From the service, to the atmosphere, to definitely the food. Great experience. read more

I originally came in for the katsu curry, but ended up having their flagship ramen. Live lobster ramen. I am soooo glad I had that for lunch. The kimchi pork broth was very good. I hit it with some chili oil to take it to the next level. Noodles were perfect, with seaweed, scallions, lime, and soft boiled egg. The lobster came out ~90% peeled. Service was ok, had to ask for water then ice. Ambiance was tv's filled with anime, nice wooden furniture. They also had a live lobster tank where my lobster was pulled. read more

When walking in it has a very big anime theme. I also love that it has small claw machine machines in it's a little waiting area. We were seated fairly quick and was given water cups fast. We got a quick rundown of the menu, however we did have a newer server. We thought she did great as she constantly checked in on us and made sure that we were doing well. The takoyaki was a bit too doughy for my liking, but it was okay. The gyoza are on the other hand was absolutely perfect and needed no additional sauce except the one that came on it. When the black garlic Ramen came to the table, it had a slight flavor, but I would say it was pretty plain. We ended up asking for some of the sauce that was on the Gyoza for the soup base. When we added that to the soup base, it became 1000 times better. The noodles were cooked fairly well, but I would just say the broth needed a bit more flavor. Interestingly, I thought this place was called Mikaku Ramen and Teriyaki. I came for the teriyaki. They don't serve it! I probably would've given five stars if they had teriyaki on their menu. I can't see! It was Temaki. But I did enjoy my meal, which was the Unagi Don rice bowl. It was very tender and fresh. The tempura vegetables were perfectly crisp and well seasoned. I love that they served my rice with the traditional bright orange raw egg like they do in Japan. I also tried the fried Gyoza and it was so delicious. The restaurant was not busy when I arrived around 5 PM but it filled up quickly. They have a robot serving cart that takes Ramen to the table. I thought that was a fun touch. They have both high and low tables, as well as booths. The lighting is very nice, as well as the natural wood tones with orange accent pieces throughout the restaurant. Despite missing teriyaki, they have a nice menu. I noticed that they have an aquarium with live octopus near the kitchen and I couldn't help but wonder if they served them up for dinner since they have takoyaki on the menu. The Lobster Ramen is a MUST if you're a seafood lover! The lobster was fresh and flavorful. The broth was amazing. Service was quick and easy. I've been here several more times and recently had it last week. I have to knock a star down just because the broth has been less hearty each time I go. Either the lack of salt or tare that goes into the bowl, but last week was a disappointment. The chashu is still very tender and tasty but the broth I barely drank. It doesn't compare to the places I've been used to growing up in Japan and other places that's in the west coast. The flavors are pretty much tailored to western taste buds here. read more

I'm sorry to say while staff were so kind the food here is terrible - by that I mean my noodles were so salty they were genuinely inedible! It tastes like every separate ingredient was pure salt including the pickled veggies. The broth for my husbands tonkatsu ramen was lukewarm and tasted heavily of fish - way too much bonito or something gone off. I wish I could leave a good review because it's a cute spot with nice staff but clearly whoever owns it isn't maintaining proper food prep and also sadly it's not a clean environment. I ordered a pork bun as an appetizer, their black garlic ramen special and a passion fruit tea as my drink. Pork bun tasted as your standard at most ramen shops. The ramen was almost delicious! Chasu was marinated well with a good balance between meat and fat. Egg was boiled perfectly and noodles had a good chew to them. The black garlic was tasty too and you know it wasn't just a pour of garlic sauce...they had small bits if garlic in the broth! Moving on to the broth is the reason I couldn't give it a 5...something was missing. Flavor depth wasn't there. I came into Mikaku looking for a quick ramen dinner. Upon entering, the place was bustling, and despite the restaurant being at nearly full capacity, the staff immediately seated me. The server promptly came by to take my order, and my food came out shortly afterwards. I had the beef rib ramen and the blue crab hand roll. The hand roll was a bit underwhelming, but the beef rib ramen was perfect! The broth was appropriately seasoned and packed with flavor, while the beef was exceedingly soft and tender. We tried Mikaku after hearing about them on IG. We didn't have time to eat in, so we ordered a Tonkotsu and a Spicy Tonkotsu to go. Before I even get to the food, we were impressed by their takeout packaging. Not something I usually notice, but we received our order in a reusable tote that seems lined to keep the heat in and the bowls separated the broth from everything else in order for it to be as fresh as possible when we got home, which really made a difference. The broth was flavorful, the ingredients were generous and fresh as well and most importantly, the noodles were perfect. Came here on a Monday afternoon for a quick lunch. The waiter had great recommendations and was attentive. I ended up ordering the shoyu Tonkotsu ramen and a side of gyoza. The ramen noodles were perfect. The broth had good flavor, but missing a little depth to it. The cha siu was a bit more chewy than I'd like,but had some tender bites to it. The gyoza were fairly good. Had great crispy exterior and tender meat and veggies inside and not bland. The chili sauce gets it's very own special mention. It was so addictive, I couldn't get enough. I wish I could slather everything in this chili oil. It isn't spicy at all, but the flavors are a little sweet with chili flavor. I enjoyed the modern decor and it was naturally bright inside. We drove across town, while visiting Denver to try this Ramen place after watching a reel on Instagram. We went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was surprisingly very busy. We were seated immediately. There were only two servers working that day. Our waitress was very appreciative of our patience, but honestly it wasn't needed, we had everything we asked for and got served quickly. Everything we tried was delicious, our favorite was the pork belly bun. It was served with a thick cut of pork belly, a slice of cucumber, and hoisin sauce. Simple and perfect. The Miso Ramen was flavorful and delicious. One fun touch the restaurant has, is the robots moving around, delivering drinks and food. We loved it everything. This place is beautiful. Great decorations and light colors. It doesnt blind you but it isn't too dark. The takoyaki was very flavourful. Really good. The kirage was a bit plain but still a decent appetizer. The ramans were good. It wasn't the best but definitely hit the spot. We enjoyed it. They use a thinner noodle and the broth is very rich. I am so glad this place is really close to our house. Went the last time we got snow and it was the best thing on a cold night. Also celebrated my brothers birthday there with some sake, ramen and takoyaki. Recommend a warm sake and def the takoyaki. Out server was so polite and very accommodating. I had the maze men which was the brothless ramen and that was so yummy! I added some chili sauce for that extra kick of spice and it was perfect! Chicken Karaage was also very crispy and moist on the inside. I think our favorite thing on the menu ended up being the Japanese hambagu! It was HUGE. The meat was well seasoned and I still dream about the sauce from time to time. It was so good that we tried to recreate it at home that same weekend but it was never the same. Located in the Aurora City Center area, this shop had plenty to offer! I came in for lunch on a weekday and was seated quickly. There's plenty of booth and table seating. There's a full-bar too with beer, wine, and spirits. There's something about the high ceilings in this restaurant that made it feel refreshing. There's also energetic J-Pop music blasting in the background. Cody was my server and had great energy! I ended up ordering hot house sake and a Sapporo (IYKYK), takoyaki, and the Spicy Shoyu Tonkatsu. The takoyaki was awesome and probably the highlight of my visit! Can I just say WOW! This is some of the best ramen I've had in Colorado. (I'm from Miami so I'm a bit of a food snob - what can I say, I have good taste!) The first time I came here, the service was much better than the second time but I was with a large group the second time so that may be why. Oh well, everyone has off days, I'll still be back. The ramen selection is pretty good and the flavors are chefs kiss! The first time I came, I was getting over a stomach bug so I just got the pork with noodles and broth and that alone wowed my tastebuds. Enough to bring a party of 8 for a celebration! That's saying a lot because I have a foodie family. They loved it too. They have the robot kitty waiter and machines that sell these cute Pokémon collectible things that were so cute. I looked them up and they were cheaper than you could get them online so they were a good deal too. Tokens are only $10 and they add them to your bill so it's really convenient. The anime ambience is really cool for both kids and adults. Also the takeout bags and bowls are something you'll want to keep. Great new place to try in Aurora. Mikaku Ramen & Temaki takes it competition to the mats and wins over many others trying out this cuisine. The concept of the restaurant is very unique - unlike any I have seen or experienced in Aurora as of yet. They have anime, robots that bring you food, excellent attention to details in decor, a wide variety of selection for food and drinks, and really nice servers. We decided to try a smattering of appetizers to get things started off. The scallion pancakes (off of their summer menu), the pan-fried gyoza, and the Bang Bang shrimp were the best of what we ordered and what I enjoyed the most. The takoyaki was not very appetizing to me, but I think that is a personal preference to how this is prepared - as I do tend to like octopus. I ordered the Thai Tea Boba and that was quite refreshing as well. First time here, and I had heard good things about this place. Parking was a bit challenging if you came here for dinner time. The interior is very unique, with lots of Japanese anime figures--fun and interesting ambiance. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, polite, and kind. She explained the menu well and gave us great recommendations. We ordered crab temaki, salmon temaki, gyoza, karaage, miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, and tonkotsu shoyu ramen. Unfortunately, all the ramen was lukewarm, which I don't prefer. Ramen should be piping hot, and I think the flavor would have been much better if it had been hotter. Toppings were also cold so I was bit disappointed. The gyoza was kinda tasteless, but the karaage was soft, juicy, and very good. The star of the night was definitely the temaki. We were so impressed we ordered more. The staff was very nice, and they even have a food-delivery robot, which seems to be a trend in Asian restaurants now. Aurora is finally stepping their game up. I was looking for a ramen spot and found Mikaku. Coming in here was the best decision ever. Went with my partner and my two other friends. The place was popping. The music was *chef kiss* the ambience is a 10/10. The server was always very attentive and willing to explain every dish and what she would recommend for us to try. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen and the broth was creamy and spicy full of flavor. My partner ordered the Beef Rib Ramen flavor of that one was settle not too strong. The Spicy Pan Fried Gyoza are fire! Super delicious and full of flavor. I really wanted to eat 10 of those and my friends said the same thing. Both were pretty spicy, which I enjoyed It's nice when something is labeled spicy and is actually spicy! The Pork Belly Bun had a juicy and thick cut of Pork Belly. It was devine. When we visited, the restaurant was much busier than usual and it seemed like the staff was caught off guard. Because of that, service was a bit slow, but they were friendly and doing their best. We ordered the shoyu tonkotsu ramen and chicken katsu curry rice bowl. Both were good but not outstanding. The Shoyu Ramen featured freshly made noodles, tender pork and a good broth but unfortunately, the broth wasn't piping hot so it cooled down rather quickly. The chicken katsu was crispy but the chicken itself was on the thin side and not as juicy as I had hoped. The curry sauce, however, was good. The portion sizes could be improved and considering the servings, some may find the value a bit lacking. It was quite a drive for us to get there, and while the food was enjoyable, the serving size and quality of the food could be improved. If you're in the area, Mikaku Ramen & Temaki is worth a visit but it may not warrant a special trip from afar. read more

We ordered the scallop temaki and bang bang shrimp to start. The scallops had a great crunchy texture and was full of flavor. The bang bang shrimp had a great sauce to pair it with. For an entree we ordered the spicy shoyu tonkatsu and the spicy miso. Both ramens had delicious toppings that paired nicely with the broth. The noodles were perfect and made in house. We had a great first visit to Mikaku! All of the staff was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and casual. I love all the anime items sprinkled throughout the dining room and anime playing on the screens. It would be cool if the captions were on though. The food was delicious! We tried a bunch of different items including the pork belly bao, spicy pan fried gyoza, and mango boba. The boba was tasty although the mango flavor was quite subtle- the boba was super fresh and delicious! My husband had the spicy shoyu tonkatsu and he really enjoyed it- he said the spice level was great and flavorful!! I had the black garlic tonkatsu and loved it! The flavor was delicious and I topped it with a nice scoop of chili crunch. We'd had a bit of a rough day and seriously felt the stress leaving our bodies after having a great first visit. Extremely well thought out delivery experience, with the broth in the bottom of an airlock bowl, with the rest of the ramen ingredients above in a shelf that separates them from the broth. With impeccable interior design like the other restaurants, Mikaku gives a nod to anime, especially Pokemon. There are many appetizers to choose from and multiple gigantic bowls of ramen. My friend and I decided to do a tasting of appetizers. The standouts for me were the Bang Bang shrimp, scallion pancakes, and pan-fried gyoza.
